I think it’s worth. I’ll bet all my marbles Anet makes it only available to ultimate edition (which is pretty much only available during pre-order right?). It’s 1000 gems normal price which is about half the extra price you’re paying, but this also includes 4000 gems which is worth 50$.

So if you like convenience (and they said this pass has something extra that the others don’t have. Since it’s the first pof pass, I assume it’s something new implemented in pof) and you want gems for a really nice price, definitely choose ultimate.

I don’t know about you guys, but I found the perfect dye composition between my celestial and bright baby blue that works literally with every outfit perfectly. Guess I got lucky lol

Edit: Especially with the exo suit, I am in absolute love with this outfit. I still wish they made outfits as armor pieces instead though so you can mix and match better.

Add the Ecto Gambling vendor to the Lounges (i.e. Lava Lounge Pass) and other possible vendors which would increase it’s convenience.

He’s talking about 8v8 being as in the old GW team format. That was only possible because it revolved around the holy trinity, gw2 doesn’t have that which is why it’s only 5v5.

The Lounge Passes like the Lava Lounge Pass is supposed to provide the ultimate convenience. I’d like to suggest adding the Ecto Gambling merchant Tarrktun to one of the many vendors at the VIP lounge for the true ‘ultimate’ convenience.

It’s like a shark, if you don’t swim through Ruby fast enough, all the terrible players will eat you alive. I was on a win streak from Amber to Ruby, got to Ruby in a day or so, one more win until Diamond, then a single loss and I get knocked into the water. I don’t believe in playing multiple classes. You’re more prone to excelling in one, then choosing multiple and trying to excel in all those at once. It’s not laziness, it’s being smart.

Then it doesn’t matter which other 2 classes you choose since you’re so good at that class you’ll beat everyone else who multiclasses with that one class.

You should probably see a doctor, you might be dyslexic. I never said I was good, in fact I can hardly play one class since it’s been a while since I’ve last played. I was just stating a simple fact. You hear people saying they multitask, the same concept applies. If you multitask, the effectiveness of each task is lowered for each task you’re tending. If you are doing one task, you can apply 100% to it. That’s why I try not to multiclass on any mmo.

Thank god, turret engi’s were the bane of pvp.

I think Anet’s next dye release should be Luminescent dyes that glow. I would spent all my gold on it for sure.

Not quite sure if this is intended or has been said before, but turrets should not be able to be placed in mid air. The only profession who can destroy them is ranged which sucks for whoever has no ranged. So maybe when you cleanse the plague of the turret engis, you can add a fix in for that too.

Deathmatch would work if there was a Death Penalty / Morale Boost. But there will be more to come defiantly. I’m 70% sure GvG will be added due to that being the most favorable game mode in GW1. They’re working on them currently, trying to perfect them and also get the bugs out of all classes and balance them even further for when actual tournaments will begin.

Lol… PvE’ers. WvW is PvE, there’s far too many NPC’s everywhere amongst the battlegrounds. We don’t need to use your silly PvE unfair advantage gear. We like it even where skill is the only thing tested in battle. Not some +1000 Toughness to Chest or whatever kitten stats you PvE’ers receive.

I vote, have the tournament system as is. But make it so paid tournaments are pre-made only games.

From my personal point of view, I think you should go with Engineer. But along with Elementalist, they too have a high skill cap.

Doesn’t really matter to me because it’s easy to reach round 3.

It defiantly doesn’t make them mandatory, because stealth rezzing isn’t the only form of rezzing with skills. The Engineer has Elixir S, and that’s better then stealth rezzing because you take 0 damage while rezzing unlike when you do so while stealthed. You can also quickness rez, or stability rez.

The ‘Huge’ patch supposedly is to hit on 10/1. It’s 3 days from now.

They also never said they wouldn’t put in GvG, for all we know it could be implemented.

There a few places to grab quick builds for Engineer that are effective. Search Teldo from Team Paradigm, and Erho from Alpha Collective. They both have multiple builds you can look at. And as far as middling PvP class, it depends because they’re good with the team and on their own. And tournament tickets won’t be useful until they add Paid Tournaments. 5 tickets per entry when they’re available, so start saving them.

Every item you get via PvP chests should have the option to place in the PvP Locker. They really need to make it so you can hold Glory boosts and Dyes in the locker.

Will there still be a GL?

The only time I can gather the mortar being somewhat useful is in the Battle of Kylo map. Place the engineer on the treb with the mortar on his bar, and have him set it up on the edge of the treb area. Then you could hit down people before they come for you.

Yes does keep track of wins, but nothing anyone not even the person can see. You can get an achievement for wins in Hot games but it’s nothing fancy. Join a game near the top of the PvP browser, it’ll be filled no matter what.

Unfortunately it’s not a queued game such as matchmaking mode, so there can’t be a penalty. It sucks, but don’t let it bug you too much, just click “I’ll take my chances.” when it auto balances your team and hope for the best lol.

Why is the score like it is? It says 495 but above it doesn’t lol.

You can’t add Necros in there because in GW1 they had that amount of minions. Rangers also had pets in GW1. The Rock Dog does absolutely NO damage whatsoever, and the elementals are an elite. The Mesmer could use some touch ups because I believe you can get higher then 3 clones, but other then that I see no problem in this.

They can’t be previewed if you aren’t the race required from it. If you’re human, you can only preview human cultural armor.

My theory is there will be one giant patch which implements all the upcoming plans they have with spvp. Blog post or not, it’ll be worth the wait in the long run.

Is that not proof enough? Are you really worried that they’re going to give us one game mode? After having a successful game such as GW1, which had numerous game modes for pvp, they wouldn’t give us only one for GW2. Also when GW1 launched they only had one game mode for pvp also.

I’m not really seeing how the post you linked tells me anything about new game modes.

In tournament play you defiantly can obtain a 1v1. Hot matches are just zerg fests. Saying PvP is bad is pretty naive, you probably only tried PvP a couple times I’m guessing.

There is going to be a huge blog post in the coming days explaining future plans for spvp. Emoqt, Arenanet is known for giving out extremely great pvp content and we are not forgotten. They only want to ensure that everything is perfect when it’s all implemented. It’s the beginning of the game, and hardly a month into release, right now I suggest practicing with your team and your class/es.

My team went 4 days without losing, not because we are exceptional but the competition is lacking. It took 4 days to find a team that even made the game challenging, We are NOT learning from this in anyway shape or form.

True, if we face a pug it’s a automatic win. And it’s hard to find a challenging team to face. What I would suggest is find some friendly competition on your server and both of you queue at the same time, then you’ll have something to practice with.

There’s going to be a major blog post done in the coming days explaining the future plans with SPvP.
