Every time I try to leave Bow Ranger...

Ive always played the ranger/hunter type classes in every game Ive played. Just something about having a pet and using a bow. I chose these classes because they interest me, not because they may or may not be the easiest or whatever. Ive been playing this game since launch…. think I have between 30 and 40 level 80s. I have at least one of each class in full ascended. That being said the ranger is still my favorite even though we go through many changes all too often. As I said before, its more about the way it works for me than anything else.

I decided to level my revenant the old fashioned way by doing map completion. I have probably enjoyed that class more than any other aside from ranger. I think it may be my go to class every time they mess with rangers. Will probably hit 80 with it tonight.

My greatest wish for rangers is for them to fix the stupid pets or at least give us an option to not use them and transfer their damage potential back to the ranger. Most of the time I pick pets for their utility anyway since they are so dumb with their attacks.

I know there are better ways to play a ranger for certain things…but it may also be said that there are just better classes to play for those activities. To me, a ranger wields a bow and deals damage from afar and thats the way I play them. I dont really care if anyone likes it or not. I love my longbow ranger.

I also play a mesmer (along with every other class). Ive never really had a moment where I thought “Gee, Im tired of these weapon skills”. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, I would rather Anet come up with new stuff. Im quite happy with all the classes and abilities. Much rather see their creative energies being used for something new. Im not disgruntled mind you. I do love the game.

So they took a chess game out….big deal. Many quests were improved. Overall I feel the NPE is a huge improvement. Not everyone agrees with that but the gate does in fact swing both ways. I have leveled 2 characters to level 80 since that patch and have another to level 45. Its really just not as big a deal as some say

I work 50-60hrs a week. At most I get to play for a couple of hours a day. Players dont get more casual than me. I log in, do my dailies and then just whatever I do varies. Some days I WvW. Some days I just do world bosses. Sometimes I just run around killing things and gathering. I never really log in with a clear idea of what I want to do. If that isnt casual…I dont know what is.

However, money was only really an issue early in the game for me. Once I got magic find up to 300% things really improved. I get a ton of rares, quite a few exotics and snag my share of ascended drops (which rarely have stats I can use). I can make 200g a week no matter what I do. I do better than that if Im simply focused on making money when I have a goal in mind.

I have 4 of my characters in full ascended and lack only boots and trinket/accessories for a 5th. I have only run one dungeon in this game and I hated it. Much rather be in WvW or doing the world bosses.

From my personal experience Id have to say that perhaps low MF% is the reason many are not making decent coin. Its either that or they are wasting their time in the game. For me the biggest hangup in getting ascended items have been the obsidian shards. If I had more time to play, that wouldnt even be an issue.

I guess some just liked the way the system worked before. I just dont know. Me? I only do them for the laurels so this was a great patch for me. There must be 100 different ways for me to enjoy the game rather than dailies. However I do concede there must be those that simply liked gathering, reviving 10 people, killing 60 things and running a few events. Thats strange to me because all I ever did anyway was rush through them to do the things I really wanted to do. But maybe…just maybe a few folks really enjoyed those dailies.

So in this sea of discontent, please tally my vote as “two thumbs up” for the fine folks at Anet. They finally did something that I really like.

You get the same rewards as before for doing nothing. You get rewards you didnt get before for actually doing the dailies. If all we got was the same as before I might understand the outrage. But when they give you more reward above and beyond just logging in and people prefer the old way? Just does not make sense.

You got 1 laurel each day for completing the dailies. You got 10 for completing the monthly. Total of about 40 or so. Now you get 54 I believe for just logging in and NOT doing dailies. If you do the dailies, you get stuff you did not get before. Nice stuff. Explain to me what is not to like about that?

Lets see….I get the same rewards as before just for logging in. I get rewards I did not get before…nice ones at that for actually doing the dailies. So I may have to go to Ascalon to log instead of the Shiverpeaks….no biggie. Seems very win-win to me. Took me all of five minutes to do the three required today. I really dont understand the fuss over this. Seems much ado about nothing.

Hehe….that quest was annoying as heck first few times I did it. Then it became one of my characters rights of passages so to speak as I always do the Norn areas first no matter what race Im on. That quest seems easier now. Some of the others such as Help Paenula Train Troops in POA have been unnecessarily complicated..

Usually its a situation where we are getting steam rolled or we are running over someone. Not this time. Very well balanced match. Get the feeling its literally going to come down to the last second and any of the three could win it. Lots of fun had by all for sure. <S> NSP and SBI!

I never played GW1. Maybe thats my problem because I still love this game. I would rather play this game than anything else out there and I have tried just about all of them including QueueAge. I simply refuse to play a game that is sub par visually to this one. I WvW and have only run 1 dungeon in my time here. Have leveled many 80s.

I think new content will eventually come to this game. Dont think creating a 2667 post about it is going to speed the process up any. I figure most of you people complaining play the game differently from me but feel the same way I do about it or the passionate pleas for new content would not be here.

I would continue to urge patience on the matter. Nothing as good as this game will simply fall away. Find new ways to play the game. Create new characters. Play some PvP or WvW in the meantime. Maybe even indulge in some RP.

The alternative is to go somewhere else and come back later which Im sure a few will do. But you will hate it. The other stuff out there looks way worse than this game. You will hate your characters clunky look and animations. I know I did which was something I did not expect. I have gotten so spoiled by the sheer beauty of this game that I simply cannot play another game not up to these standards.

I hope you will all stay but understand it if you go. To each their own I suppose. I do think that should you venture out to do something different that you will be more disappointed by what you find than you are here with the state of this game. But thats ok…. you can come back lol.

Peace.

out of curiosity, when did you start playing actively?

I got the game for Christmas the year it was released. However I could not play the game until the following January due to an insufficient computer. Been playing ever since.

Level gated weapon skills are not a big thing. Play the game for 30 minutes and guess what? They are all unlocked. Some of the other level gated stuff seems silly to me as a veteran player. The utility skills are being looked at. They have been stated to not be working as intended by the devs, so that will be amended somehow soon.

Is there anything good about GW2?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sturmruger.3920

Sturmruger.3920

Its still a great game. Most of the uproar is about veteran players not liking the new leveling experience or that time it took to develop could have been better utilized (latter being a valid point perhaps).

However brand new players could very well enjoy this new experience since they dont know how it used to be. I have played with it a bit and personally dont share the anguish many other vets have towards it. In fact, I rather like the changes and this is coming from someone with over 20+ level 80s.

The white elephant in the room is a thing called key farming which has been knee capped by this change. You used to be able to create a brand new character and jump into your personal story right away. It was possible to get your level 10 personal story done in about 10-15 minutes. This rewarded you with a Black Lion Chest key which could award Black Lion ticket scraps or even a complete ticket that could be exchanged for unique weapon skins that could be traded. The end result was a gold farm had been given a nerf.

Now many of the complaints you read about just are not legitimate except for the utility skills perhaps being spread out too far. Even the devs admit this issue and are addressing this. The weapon skills being level gated are no big deal. If you log in an get with it, youll be level 10 in 30 minutes or less. All your weapon skills will be unlocked. If you truly are new, youll probably like the way things are.

This community is very volatile. The last few big patches have slowly been closing many of the gold farms and naturally this gets under more than a few peoples skin. My thinking is these people will keep finding ways to get around the system or move on to a game where farming is more productive. Either way the game will persevere. Nothing about this patch vastly affects what you do at level 80. The fact so many claimed veterans get on here to object to this new patch probably has more to do with affecting their bottom line than how the game is actually played at lower levels. I am sure that ANET has some way of vetting the genuine concerns from the “OMGIHAZLOSTMUNNY” crowd.

I would urge anyone sitting on the fence to give it a whirl. You have not lost much if you dont like it. Personally I find that I still love this game very much even after the patches of late because primarily it did not affect me. I did keyfarm for a while but it is a mindless madness to do. It was profitable…sure. But it was like a second job or something. I felt like a zombie lol.

They nerfed champions a while back. I did run a lot of champ trains and at first I hated the change. I was even venomous about it. However, a funny thing happened afterwards. I ventured out and actually begin completing zones. I really began to take in the game as I think I should have all along.

So…come on in. Play a bit. Im still here. Many others will be too even after all this dust settles. It may not be your cup of tea, but you will not have lost much giving it a try. then again, you might just love it too.

Was unaware the boost tapered off at level 10. That would be a bummer. I only leveled my new character to level 13, so I may be missing what some of you are getting at. I apologize for that. Ill try to hit 30 tomorrow and see how it works out.

“I seriously doubt you actually read anyones post on this thread”

I read enough to know that the complaints I see were not legitimate. The leveling experience IS easier. Why on earth would any veteran player want it to be harder when leveling an alt? Skills being level gated are no big thing for even a new player. Nobody is going to stay level 10 forever. I could level a brand new toon to 80 in a matter of a few evenings now.

For the record, I never considered the game hard. It is easier to level now which is a good thing for those wanting to level that alt. Making things easier for people to get into the game and level up wont change how they have to play later on.

I seriously doubt any of you have tried leveling a character after these changes. Its never been this easy before and if you vets are truly worried about leveling an alt you should be overjoyed. You can do it quicker than ever. I suspect a large portion of the crying is really about key farming becoming more tedious. If you create an alt and somehow find it to be harder because of the skill gating…you just cant be helped. Are you saying you prefer the leveling to be slower but more involved? For me I just want to get my alts to 80 where they can be of the most use to me. I can do that quicker now. I dont need to experience every little thing Ive done 20 times before.

Sturmruger.3920

First let me say I have a lot of level 80s all leveled up the hard way. No scrolls aside from a few level 20 birthday booster jump starts.

I decided I would level up a new toon on this day to see how it worked now. I created a Norn ranger since thats my favorite class and race. I was very familiar with how things worked before.

First thing I noticed was that mobs were much easier to kill. I practically ran through Grawlenfjord just smashing the hearts at an unbelievable pace. I did not notice any nodes there to collect from. Not completely sure why, I just never found any.

In less than two hours I had worked well into the Shiverpeaks and had hit level 10 way earlier than I ever had before. I also began finding nodes her to collect from so I gathered while questing. I went ahead and did the personal story at this time just breezing through it with ease till I had killed Korag, the Jotun King.

I decided to pause and take in the experience to evaluate what I had accomplished. Here I was in just over two hours at level 13. Id say I still had roughly 50% of the map to complete. After selling the loot I had amassed during this time I had about 1g 37s. I also completed my daily, had a BLC key and a transmutation charge (went ahead and completed Hoelbrak map when I went there for personal story start). Not bad and Im sure I can do it quicker now that Im familiar with the changes.

In really looking at how this works now, I have to say that I like it. It felt very strange at first because I was unfamiliar with it. But I think I will grow to really enjoy these changes. In fact my biggest complaint is that somehow my pet is even slower than it used to be. It seemed even more useless than it was before. Very slow and clumsy. On the plus side, the longbow just melted everything. Pet wasnt really needed.

I have only tried the ranger. I cant say how it is for the other classes yet. But I did not really ever experience any frustration at all. It was an enjoyable experience even though it was very different from what I was used to. I actually had fun and lets face it, thats what they were after with this patch. I think people get comfortable with how things are and tend to take a stand against any kind of change. Rather than to sit on my 80s and join that crowd, I decided to start a new character to see for myself how this now works. I do like it so far. Ill try some different classes this week to see if that opinion holds.

Burst, right, so you waste your utility speeding up a weaker skill because you think it hits hard since it sums up its damage. Guess what, if you just auto-attack at max range with that burst of speed, you’ll hit harder. You should play mesmer with GS and just use the autoattack, you’ll probably fool yourself into thinking you’re doing tons of damage because it sums ALL the autoattacks up if you don’t interrupt it.

You clearly know nothing about a longbow ranger. Rapid Fire isnt so much about damage, its about applying vulnerability to make all your other skills hit harder. Naturally you want your applied vulnerability on target as fast as you can get it there before they close range (Longbow is better farther you are from target). It also is no slouch damage wise when traited for power/crit. And if you are traited correctly it just gives you faster ways to crit leading to other benefits.

When I can control the engagement I will open with Barrage to keep things nice and slow. I will then hit quickening zephyr and Rapid fire to get the vulnerability up. While the enemy is coming off the cripple Ill let him rush to me a bit while I kite away. When and if they get close I will knockback and repeat cycle. I rarely meet anyone that lives or stays for the second cycle. Most blow all their cool downs trying to get away. Only time I get in real trouble is when I have nowhere to go. I can always camo and/or switch to GS for the swoop to get some distance. Sometimes you get pinned and just have to eat it.

I know rangers dont get much love. People especially despise the “Bearbow Ranger” Its nothing new really. Every MMO Ive ever played really seems to dislike ranged archer types. My problem is that I simply love this type of play. I admit that other classes seem to be better at just about anything than a ranger is. I have those classes too but I always go back to my ranger.

PVE- I find that when I do events or simply farm mats I always go to the ranger. I can just melt things. This does not include dungeons because as has been mentioned many times, people would rather have someone bring lots of utility over straight DPS and I understand that. I just dont do dungeons. Should I ever get the urge Ill take one of the more acceptable classes.

PVP- I havent played PVP too much but I was not horrible when I did. Still I would probably take one of the other classes were I to get serious about it just because there is more room for error with some of them.

WvW- I love my ranger here. On my own I truly am an easy kill. But there are better choices should I decide to roam. However, running in a zerg can be very profitable. I can sit back at 1500 and lay down atrocious damage while the enemy flails away at my comrades. I can stack loads of vulnerability on them from afar making things much easier for my team. Should things get bad I can barrage a whole group giving precious escape time not only for myself but for my team as well. My pets can provide a variety of benefits. I rarely use them for damage often keeping them close just for those benefits. I can defend structures very handily. The range and power/crit make me very annoying and lethal. I am a glass cannon and I play that way. I do love it. Not for everyone I admit, but I do love it.

The longbow was made for rangers. I have tried all the other builds with swords, axes and daggers. Every time I was left with the feeling of “Why am I doing this? Why not just drag the warrior out if this is how I am going to play?” Instead I choose to use my ranger playing to its strengths. I put a lot of hurt waayyy down range. Its the way a ranger should be played in my opinion. It is the only thing a ranger really excels at. Played any other way is a compromise to survive and just about every other class is better at it than a ranger.

Daughter and I got the game for Christmas in 2012. We worked feverishly to get the game installed on both computers to no avail. Mine was in spec but near used up from years of gaming. Hers was borderline in spec but didnt play it well. We ended up getting the game on two new computers I built near the end of January 2013.

We had lots of fun initially but she being a teenager now has all but abandoned me and GW2 lol. Its either that or she is constantly grounded from anything fun. Teenagers…

I am a mechanic by trade. Put in many hours a week working. Hard work at that. I have found that playing GW2 really helps me relax in the evenings. I look forward to my time here and really connect to my characters. In some way they all reflect who I am. They are me in a world where I can do whatever I want…within terms of the T.O.S. of course

This game is a beautiful world. It is my window to somewhere else and I do dearly love it.

-empty servers- Megaservers

-no end game- I WvW. If you need dungeons, then probably not. This isnt Dungeon Wars

-grind all the time- I have 18 level 80s now. Dont feel it was a grind at all

-crafting – I saved mats from the beginning. Often craft my alts to level 80. No grind at all

-dumb login procedure- Really…this is just nitpicking here.

-support not responding for tickets- They have ALWAYS responded to mine. Feel this is stretching the truth a bit on your part

-Boring classes- If you find these classes boring, nothing can help you

-5x Guardian team so op-What game were you playing again?

-No level scalling-I often get aggravated that some of my leveling characters are better in the same zone than some of my 80s in exotic gear. No basis for this argument

-Gem shop news all the time- Some of us just cant get past the login screen I guess

-Insane server structure-This is the one point of your complaint I might have some common ground with you on. I dont like how the megaservers function. Its cool when out in the world doing events but I miss my home city.

In summary, the game is free forever once you pay for it up front. Why ask silly questions here when you could just try it out? The fact that youre still here in the forums indicate you have yet to find something that pleases you and from your many complaints you list here…I doubt you will. No the game is not perfect, but what is? I accept there are things about the game that I wish were different because the good outweighs the bad in my opinion. I am sorry you are so displeased with the game but do know that not everyone thinks the game is or ever was bad. Good luck on your quest.

I dont do dungeons. They ceased to be appealing to me the first time someone snickered at me and told me to take a hike for using LB. I have other classes that are acceptable for doing dungeons should I need to scratch that itch.

For my LB ranger I have found them to be devastating in WvW. I can hit things 1500 away and most things just wither and die before they get to me. Most classes get about halfway to me, realize they will be dead before they get there and they try to run which also does not work. Sure if something gets close due to my inattentiveness or clumsy play I can get in trouble. However Id say about half the time I can beat them outright with greatsword or use it to create distance to go back to longbow.

The ranger class is by no means bad. Many here try to turn it into a warrior with a pet but thats not where it shines. It really is a killing machine when you can dictate engagements from afar with a longbow. True, you wont get into dungeons unless you use some dorky sword/horn/GS build but I feel your best bet is just to play another class for dungeons. Lots of other classes handle that in your face/buff game better than a ranger can anyway. Instead, build a ranger for what it excels at which is killing from downtown, take it to WvW and have fun.

I love the longbow ranger. Dont care what anyone thinks of it. I play it my way which may not be popular but I do love them for what they are. Playing a ranger any other way just seems blasphemous to me.

If you want easy, Id say warrior or ranger. For sheer fun I prefer engineer. Also really enjoying my staff necromancer. Neither of those were fun to level however. They didnt really shine for me until I got them to 80. A warrior would probably be a wise 2nd character however as you can gear them to do about whatever you want.

I dont know…I hated leveling engineer. But once I got to 80 I tried several different builds finally settling on a rifle build (HGH). I also went with soldiers gear and runes of strength. I think I can put up 17 stacks of might right off the bat and then as elixirs cool down have well over 20 as they overlap. I love it! HUGE burst damage, takes a fair beating. Im aware it is probably not as powerful as some of the kit/tool belt builds but it is loads of fun especially in WvW.

I leveled with that build, but it didnt really get good until I got the HGH trait. In fact it was a pain to level. But once you get the elixirs rolling you are very bursty. Dont feel a need to switch weapons or a need to use kits. Just drink up, jump into the fray and pound everything.

Its not for everyone Im sure. But rifle/engi has become my favorite class. Engineers with melee weapons seems a kooky idea to me as good as the rifle is up close. A greatsword with an electric charge would be neat tho

No its not. I have a new character thats level 33 now. Only played it for about 3 evenings and used no tomes or boosters. If leveling were any easier it would be pathetic.

Its Not All Bad

All the complaints about this game are well documented. However I do think people tend to harp on those things while forgetting the good things. I played WoW from vanilla through cataclysm. Loved it but just could not handle the dumbing down of the game and to top it off…pandas! I have tried many other games such as AoC, Rift, EvE and most recently Wildstar. What I have found is that once I played GW2 I simply could not go back to the others. I leveled two characters to 10 in Wildstar and just could not stand the cartoonish nature of the game. I had been spoiled by the gorgeousness of GW2. AoC had potential, but it will never be realized. I still play EvE but its like a second job really. I tried recently to go back to WoW and couldnt for the same reasons I dont like Wildstar.

I found out that I really love my GW2 characters. I love the beautiful scenery that greets me in each different zone. I dont care that theres no progression. I dont care that we dont have new dungeons. I dont care that they keep nerfing ways to make money. I just dont care. I love this game. Every time I try to play something else I find myself missing this game.

I suppose if I were the hardcore raider type I would have more issues but I am not. I work long hours and dont have the time to play that I used to have. So I am very casual in my commitment to any game. But I do enjoy knowing that I can log in here and unwind a bit. Might be some silly fun, doing a few dailies or participating in a few world events. Mostly I just love developing my characters…making them who they are. Thank you Anet for making such a beautiful game!

Now give me more medium tops that arent trench coats….

An End to the Queensdale Train

So there are people that sit around thinking of killing the train off by lowering the loot value. Some want to do away with champs entirely. Where is it exactly you want these people at and why? Forcing people to do something YOU want is NOT healthy for the game. They will leave rather than be funneled into the narrow gate to do what YOU want them to do. I suspect the greater issue that is not being talked about by the vocal minority is that they need bodies elsewhere in the game and they think by killing off venues that attract masses will cause people to meander into those aspects of the game. It wont work. These people either dont find those aspects of the game attractive already or they simply do not have time for it. All you will do is cause the truly casual players to go to some other game for kicks.

It is my belief that the ones calling the train people elitist jerks are really the elitist jerks themselves. They arent interested in being cooperative. They dont truly have the games health as a concern. If they did they would be looking at why the train works and trying to emulate that into the rest of the game. Say what you will but log in at any time of day and that train will be rolling which is testament to its popularity and thus defies your selfish logic that it is somehow flawed. The fact that so many high levels show up to derail the train demonstrates the true nature of what is wrong with GW2. These people arent marching to the beat of your drum. They are doing what THEY want to do and you simply cant handle that. Now imagine if the rest of the game worked as nicely as that train does. People coming together regardless of guilds and now even servers to accomplish something. Something that can be achieved reasonably without some jerk telling us all where to stand and what to do.

Not everyone is a professional gamer. We have lives. We live outside our computers. We want to be able to play the game “our way” too. We dont have timeless hours to plan for a very technical encounter. All we want to do is get in here and have fun, meet new people and blow some things up. Its very relaxing somehow after a day at a real grind to come home and slaughter a pig over and over. Sometimes I think these people that rant about this or that just need a job or something.

You want this game to live and breathe? Find ways to bring everyone together like the train does. Its not noobs derailing the train. Better than 90% of the genuine noobs run with the train when they learn what it is I would wager. Its the established level 80 elitist jerks that are looking for their in-game fame that ruin every game like this. I would rather make all champs regardless of zone level unable to be killed by that solo lvl 80 that is just trying to be a problem for everyone.

You know why the train works? There are no gear checks. There is no meta spec for gear. A lvl 5 character can get the WPs for the train and show up and tag things and its worthwhile in terms of XP, reward and camaraderie. They dont have to join a guild. They dont have to do anything if they dont want to. Its the truest sense of freedom in the whole game.

So these people arent in your guild building your castles. They arent in WvW following your commander tag around. They arent in your world doing your things. Big deal. Put your big boy pants on and move on. We need more people like these, not less. Some of us just want to have fun and if that goes against your ideal way of doing things…maybe you are the one with issues, not us.

An End to the Queensdale Train

I disagree with the perceived need to eliminate the trains. In fact I would like to see trains in every map. Queensdale is popular because it feels alive. The train is part of the reason for that. Instead of trying to make yet another dead zone, Anet should look at why Queensdale IS alive.

Yes, people that run the train can be rude when “their” champ is killed ahead of schedule, but more often than not it is because the person(s) that killed a champ out of order are goading them into that response by proudly announcing in mapchat their clear intention of disrupting the train. Either way you are talking about a handful of people on each side making all the noise while the majority are silent about it and move on. I suppose the high level vigilantes that feel a need to disrupt the train are trying to liberate those people into a type of gameplay that suits the vigilantes needs, not the individual. It is rarely and I mean very rarely that the train gets derailed by a new player as is being portrayed by some here. Its almost always the “Ill play my way” level 80 in great gear doing the service.

So a new player gets to choose to run a train where they receive help in achieving something they would otherwise be unable to do or they get to learn how to be disruptive, uncooperative and generally unliked. Its not like this “hated zerg” just marches all across the map killing everything in its path. The trains course is very select and precise. So much so that it is easily grieved by those who adore being disruptive.

The people that run the train work together to accomplish something they would otherwise be unable to do. The train is fun. I love that high level characters can mix it up with new characters. Thats something that is sorely missed in many other games. Ive met some really great people running these trains and for me thats what its really all about.

Some of us work long hours. Its hard for us to get involved in any kind of guild or dungeon running. What we want to do is spend that hour or two having fun. We dont want a grind. We dont want to plug in to a second job. The train IS fun. Odd as it may seem one of my favorite parts of it is the pause waiting for boar. All kinds of silliness goes on there.

Refund on Existing Outfits

The armor and dye side of the wardrobe feature is really, really nice. However, what they have done with town clothes is a travesty. Say you bought Khaki shorts, gloves or any of the items that are destined to be used as tonics… how would you feel about that? Cant dye them anymore. Cant mix and match them. You can only wear the sets as dyed in their original form.

I dont like this. Even if they kindly refund gems for this it just creates more blah. We dont need more blah in this game. We need more glitz or options if you will. There are precious few now…even less after this goes live.

Say you go buy a Corvette and get it painted and optioned like you want. You dont like the factory stereo or the wheels, so you install aftermarket options. You are quite happy with this new Corvette. But then a month after you buy it, GM decides all Corvettes should only be purple and cant have the features altered and goes so far to recall your Corvette to be brought into compliance. Would you Anet defenders actually be cool with that? Would you buy anything else from a company that treats their customers like that?

Yes I know there is a broad gap between Corvettes and Khaki Cargo shorts in worth, but none in principle. I have a feeling that for you folks waving the Anet banner it is simply a non issue for you anyway and therefore you should politely bow out of this conversation.

I would rather Anet backed off on this roll out until they get it right. My gut feeling is that they are desperately trying to add flash in the pan because of the new MMOs coming out and thats sad. This game would more than stand on its on if they ADDED features without needing to SUBTRACT functionality. This is a beautiful game. Simply gorgeous. Give me more ways to look unique, not less Anet.

Going to miss my town clothes. How I dress my characters greatly affects my love for the game. Why Anet keeps insisting on fixing unbroken things is beyond me. VERY unhappy about this.

They took it away because it looks sooo much better on the Norn gals than the twiggy humans No seriously….I bought the skin and love it on my Norn ele but I completely understand the uproar. I certainly would not be okay with the Norn cultural being available to every race. I figure worse case scenario, I get my gems back. No hard feelings from me there. Anyway, here is my ele

i get the feeling majority of u well under 2k hrs

2000 hrs….thats like 83 complete 24 hour days. This game released on August 28th. That roughly works out to like 6-7 hrs a day on average that someone had to play to get that time in. Who has time for that? Me thinks there are bigger problems in their world.

I dont want better armor. I just want different skins. More variety. Last thing in the world I want is another WoW gear treadmill. You know, you come home from wolrk and see you have 5 more levels to gain and the armor you spent a month getting is now useless? Yeah, dont want that crap at all.

I play GW2 just as a release from the real world. I could care less if there is not enough end game material to keep those who can play 16hrs a day busy. My family plays this as well as EvE Online. If you seek a real end game, get off your couch and go there. GW2 is like Disneyland compared to EvE and I like it that way. GW2 is fun. I love the events and the goofiness that ensues just waiting for a boss to pop. PVP is even fun to me. Im not good at it but its fun. Seems to me the ones that really dont like GW2 are the hardcore raider types. I dont care what game youre talking about, theyre never happy with anything. Every game that has a forum has these “raiders” that whine incessantly about everything. They just want a new shiny. Give them more shiny and theyll still whine.

Unable to log into character

I have a character that I am unable to log into. The character is located in Wayfarer Foothills on Devona’s Rest. Everytime I go to log into that character I am booted to the report screen and details says a file was corrupted. I have run the repair feature several times to no avail. All my other characters seem fine. Any help received will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
