This change was kinda annoying to me, considering I already had around 250 hero points on my mesmer before the launch of the expansion. I loved the challenge of the hp’s and the feeling of actually progressing for each point I did. It was lovely fun. The fact that they changed it kinda takes away that feeling of progression. I don’t want things to be given to me, it’s kittening boring. Now that I jump on to my necromancer alt I will basically already have all of the points necessary to open up the whole specialization without even touching the HoT maps… How stupid isn’t that?

I would’ve been fine with it if no one got any hero poins as head start for their specialization. That way it would seem reasonable with 250 for the specialization. Maybe if everyone who had a level 80 character with maxed out specializations had 0 hero points left to spend, and that way they’d have to get all of the 250 hp’s in the HoT maps.

I can agree with you, but that is also why I think necros could use such a condi, while builds such as burn guards shouldn’t have it. I see how it could be a problem if the necro was playing in a team with a burn build something, and would apply the conditions simultaneously.

I think in the case of a burn nerf, a condition like this could be really cool to have. Of course it would be very limited to maybe only necro and perhaps the rev.

So I have this idea for a new condition that would work as a counter to condition removal. Imagine a condition that deals “heavy damage” to the player when they remove it by cleansing/transfering/converting. I think it would add some nice play for condibuilds and add an extra layer of counterplay like “is it worth it to remove the conditions on me?”. I feel as it currently is if I bump into something like a medi guardian with tons of cleansing I feel somewhat crippled, so it would be nice to have some kind of counterplay so that all my condis don’t get cleansed instantly with no repercussion for the one removing them.

If there was an “anti-cleanse” condition the player wanting to cleanse the conditions might consider letting the condis stay on for the duration of that condition before they cleanse, because otherwise they will get punished, perhaps losing more health than they would waiting it out a bit. The punishment could decrease in damage as the condition dissispates further. So that if you remove it just as it was applied, you would receive a greater punishment, but if you wait til it only has a few seconds left you might get a smaller punishment for removing it.

I think it would be cool if we had a condition that adds that extra “should I, or shouldn’t I?” feeling to condition removal. Especially for a profession such as the Necro that has that condi transfer/conversion/punishment playstyle.

Do you think a condition like this should be implemented? Is it a bad idea, if so why? Would it be too OP?

Like I get that stealth breaks from using attacks while in stealth because that makes sense obviously. But the fact that an attack I used before I entered stealth can break my stealth is about as stupid as if one of my pulsing aoe fields would pull me out of stealth from pulsing on an enemy. It’s just plain dumb.

I don’t see why you would even argue against a “fix” for this. It wouldn’t exactly be a massive buff that would make the thief super OP. It’s basically just a simple change to make mh pistol less annoying.

I shouldn’t have to disable autoattack for this to not be a problem. I’ve never had any problems with the AA being “disruptive” in such a way on any of my other alt professions, so in what way is it fair that the thief should have this problem?

I would really appreciate if the devs would have a look at this problem, because it gets quite tiresome to lose fights as a result of pistol AA working improperly with blinding powder.

So I have been playing a lot of P/P thief lately and there’s one thing that has been bugging the crap out of me. The fact is, my AA will a lot of the times go off just before I use my Blinding Powder and as a result the projectile hits the target and I lose my stealth, getting the revealed debuff. The only way I’ve managed to counter this is by learning how to quickly turn my camera away from my target just before I use Blinding Powder to prevent the AA from going off.

Has anyone else noticed this and is as annoyed by it as I am? Do you think this should be fixed so that stealth doesn’t break from your travelling projectile, or should it remain this way?

I propose that the travelling projectile shouldn’t break my stealth the way it currently does. I don’t know how they would go about fixing it so that it works that way, but my god is it annoying when I get the revealed debuff instead of stealth.

I don’t play a lot of thief. However with the lack of DW pistol mesmer I figured I’d try my luck with some gunslinger thief since it’s one of those concepts that I really wanna pull of somehow.

It’s super squishy however if you play your survival cards right with dodges/blind/stealth it is outright deadly because of the massive burst damage. I’ve tried to max out on stealth since we don’t have any viable on demand stealth ability with the p/p.

If I manage to stay in the background while my teammate take all the hits we easily win the fight. I’ve played a few games with this build and I’ve seen success. Of course some people will see through you and totally crush you. But in the right setting this build can be really good. You could go Trickery line and swap the shortbow for another p/p for the extra initiative on swap and extra 3 base initiative for more burst. I just feel like the sb is a really good weapon for escaping and shadowstepping on ledges. I will try the trickery line later and see how it works out though.

I really just wish they lowered the cost on some of the pistol skills since I feel like I rarely use anything other than p/p 3 and pistol 5. They should lower the initiative cost on pistol 5. When I do need to use p5 I am usually low on initiave and 6 initiatve is half the baseline bar, so I feel like it’s way too much for such a skill. p/p 3 could also use some kind of buff since unless you go full damage build it doesn’t dish out nearly enough damage to be viable. Overall I just feel like the set is missing something, like a blast finisher would be nice for some kind of weapon stealth combo or something??

I hope that the rewards are still bugged

Blooms aside, can we just take a look at the other stuff?

1. Mobs drop nothing, don’t even give experience.
2. Gives no experience or karma when completing an event.
3. Events grant NOTHING on completion.

What the hell ArenaNet? You can tag several mobs and AFK because there is NO reason to fight anything.

Exactly! They could at least give something back for putting effort into the event and not just make it so that it is more rewarding to just tag and leave. The fact that the mobs don’t drop anything at all is probably the most annoying thing. They could’ve have made it so that the mobs had a chance of dropping a few blooms and that the champion spawns dropped champ bags.

I hope that the rewards are still bugged

I’m kinda kittened off at this event. I literally spend 30 minutes farming and doing my best to contribute to the event, yet I only get 10 blooms? I mean am I expected to farm 24/7 or what to get the 450 blooms to get the scarlet gloves and shoulders?

The rewards are so so so bad that I won’t even bother anymore.

I actually like our offhand skills.
Focus is really good for reflects and the pull/interrupt and swiftness/cripple is really nice.
Sword 5 actually do quite a nice amount of damage. The block is slightly lackluster but it’s ok.
Pistol. The duelist could use a slight damage buff, but overall it’s a good weapon with the 5 skill.
Torch. I mean don’t get me wrong the stealth is really nice but the burn is very weak both on 4 and 5. The phantasm could really use a rework.

Maybe they were thinking of adding the dagger as part of the specialization at first but then decided not to, hence why they removed it for the herald reveal?

Maybe they will release it as a baseline weapon for the revenant instead of as a specialization weapon? I don’t think they would add the weapon to a reveal picture unless they had been working on it for the profession. I can’t imagine they completely scrapped the idea. At least not without replacing it with something else.

I feel like the revenant needs more weapons. I think with the legend utilities as they are now, which is… static, we lose out on a lot of build variety. More weapons would allow for more unique builds. Either that or adding just a few more utility choices to the different legends.

Well I’ve noticed it on my elementalist mainly because I have the attunement swaps on 1,2,3,4. But I’ve also noticed it on my mesmer shatters but since I don’t use them as often as attunements on my ele it doesn’t bother me as much. My ele is literally on hiatus right now though because of this keyboard thing.

I have my “2” and “3” buttons binded for my profession specific abilities and for some reason they have stopped working correctly. Every now and then, around every 3rd time I hit them the game doesn’t react, sometimes it takes me multiple tries before the game finally recongnize my actions. It’s really weird since it works perfectly to write with the keys in the game chat and everything else I’ve tried on my computer still works with those 2 buttons. So I doubt there’s anything wrong with the keyboard.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Has anyone else had these problems?

So I have this problem with specifically my “2” and “3” buttons on my keyboard. It is like they only work sometimes when I click them. Every second or third time I use them they don’t even react in-game. The weird thing is that the keys work perfectly in the game chat and on everything else that I have tried on my computer, which makes me think this might be a bug. This problem first occurred about 3-4 days and it has really disrupted my gameplay because I have my attunement swaps on those buttons so I can’t even play my ele any longer.

Has anyone else ever experienced something like this?

Way way way waaaaay to AoE oriented for my taste. The shouts were hilarious “Shock and aftershock!!!!” and there were some awesome looking effects however I was really hoping for something else. The overloads were a dissapointment, I’d much rather they’d have added a fifth attunement Arcane. That would’ve been so much cooler. And I was really rooting for a hammer up until the announcement. The hammer would have been totally freaking kitten, with some thor-kitten going on in lightning attunement. kitten I wish they did hammer.

I was somehow hoping for hammer because I always loved how the lightning hammer looked and felt. But warhorn could turn out to be really good. You don’t really know until you’ve seen it. Though I was hoping for either a main handed or a two handed weapon. I was kinda disappointed when mesmers didn’t get the main hand pistol. I hope this doesn’t add to that disappointment.

Yes. I did some sPvP random yesterday and got very destroyed by a bunch of rangers and I didn’t have much to counter them with. I used mimic very rarely before the change, but now with the ranger changes I miss it. I don’t see why they couldn’t just have let it be and added a new skill with the new mimic mechanic instead.

Ah well. Not much to do about it. The new mimic is kinda nice though when you use it in coalition with SoI.

I use rabid gear for mine and it works fine. However, dire gear would probably be a better choice since this is a condition build and conditions don’t benefit from precision. On the other hand, since we are traited for sharper images precision will give our illusions bleeding on critical hits. It all depends on wether you’d want better survivability or the extra bleeding damage.

This build is awesome. You apply the burning using the mantra heal, torch 4, rune of balthazaar and staff + staff clones. It’s very viable for both sPvP and WvW roaming.

I feel like we already have all the weapons that possibly fit the class. The only one we don’t already have that I could see fits the class is the torch. Perhaps sword as well, but any heavy weapon like hammer or great-sword just feels wrong for the class. I wouldn’t mind seeing another variant of the staff with more focus on power perhaps? I think the staff that we have at the moment isn’t very compelling.

Sure it’s nice when it’s traited but I rarely play any builds with it traited. The aoe pull is also very nice, but there’s just these things about it that I just hate. The stupid warden and the swiftness boon kittene, it’s enough to make me never want to use it.

Is anyone else really annoyed by the focus 4, not stacking swiftness if you already have the boon? It’s driving me insane. It’s so annoying that I just can’t use it in WvW anymore. And since the 5 ability is pretty kittenty being stationary and not target area based that makes me hate the focus even more.

As a mesmer myself I think mesmers do need a nerf for some builds damage wise (phantasm is seriously beast atm).

I’m looking at buying gear since I’m recently 80 on my mesmer. Problem is I want to play confusion/condition build in WvW, but I don’t know if there is any viable build for PvE aka. dungeons/whatever with conditions. I don’t have enough assets to buy both power and condition as of now.

I’m going for the rabid gear if anyone wonders.

Combo Finishers

Does anyone else feel there’s a lack of combo finishers? Especially playing as a dagger necro I feel like there should be some other finisher than the ones we have now. Atm the only ones available on land are ‘Necrotic Traversal’ and ‘Putrid Explosion’. Both being blast finishers and utility skills.

Possible Camouflage Skill?
