I’ve deliberately double tapped directional arrows to break out of and dodge away from incoming hostilities only to not budge an inch and still be reviving. I’ll practice the next time I find something to revive and see if it happens in all directions but back and to the left and the key I’ve matched to dodge (which is another automatic backroll) all don’t work.
Newbie thief question here.
I seem to keep getting caught in the trap of reviving an npc, and having a hostile npc spawn nearby and rip me a new one while I am stuck reviving this npc.
Even if I see it coming, I hit my dodge key, I hit an arrow key twice to try and manually dodge, I hit escape to drop my target, nothing works, I can’t ever seem to quickly break free of the revive process. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a quick-escape from reviving that I am not doing?
There are a couple of those assassin-y creed moments, but I think it’s all just candy and fluff until my character can grab onto something and pull herself up like any self respecting adventurer should be able to do.
Where’s my “like” button.
My Norn makes me happy, and that’s the important part when playing a game.
I’d call that a bug, especially in a game where the only end content to be had at ALL is pvp.
It’s not that a global market sucks or is causing trouble, if anything it is creating equilibrium.
The trouble is that there is SO MUCH STUFF dropping in the game. Ungrouped people, attacking the same mob, mining the same node all getting a separate loot table means there are FAR MORE resources being dumped into this global trading market than any other market in any other game.
It means supply is high and demand is low, which crashes the supply vs demand and drives prices down until they match or are worth less than vending the product instead. I understand Anet did it to reduce player rivalry, but they could stand to lower the loot table from all mobs and nodes. (and reset all auctions to players who still have those posts below vendor pricing would disappear).
So I’ve noticed sometimes my death blossom doesn’t actually work or send me over the mob to the other side. I “believe” its actually because I’m not on a flat surface when I do it (the mob is slightly above me on a slope).
I’m pretty sure this is in place on purpose to prevent jumping puzzle exploits, but can we get an exception/tweak for the small bunny hills? If the wolf I’m fighting is on a snow drift about a foot higher than where I am standing, I can’t imagine not being able to still execute my desires in combat. Especially not when I am 9 foot tall and towering over the poor creature.
Thought so. I couldn’t figure out what on earth a single server was doing with a million and a half sticks of cinnamon.
I am sure this has already been covered but I haven’t been able to find anything specifically stating one way or the other clearly (only been playing for 2 weeks). The Black Lion Trading Co… This is all one entity in the world right? Or is each servers market separate?
I don’t know about greatsword but I would have to say that weapons aren’t scaling comparatively when you scale the size of your Norn. My small Norns 1 handed sword is almost shoulder height and drags on the ground as I run.
I think my Norns voice is just perfect. I was dying of laughter when she told the guy she was about to beat “Hey Nice hat…. I’m going to take it and turn it into my chamber pot.” I of course felt it necessary to make good on her threat.
So I see lots of interesting things posted, some bugs, some not, some gameplay quirks that probably won’t be fixed (like any shadowstep type skill messing up if not on even unbroken ground, do they even know how to fix that? Wouldn’t that open up jumping puzzle exploit possibilities?).
What I don’t see is any feedback from Anet that they’re even paying attention to this thread, and I’ve definitely encountered some of these things before, but is this just beating a dead horse or are there too many nitpicky this should change requests? What on the list of problems are actually /bugs
I made sure to put the cuts on my Norn’s face. What actually makes me sad is to see a female Norn who has such a tiny waist that she looks like she could be broken in half by the first monster she comes across. And that the muscle definition is optional. For the plants, I can see that. But Norn are strong warriors. And even as one with light armor, it made me sad to see that the default starting armor included a lacy garter. (But was great incentive to level quickly and find more appropriate armor.) For faces, I found a serious looking face. Still attractive, but not prissy.
Yea, at level 17 for a thief I’m already looking at the future of armor. I’m in level 10 crafted leather and thinking “Well this is the most modest armor I’m going to find in the game from here on out.” I’m going to have to work hard to try and find my thief proper armor and not some fantasy set that covers next to nothing (seriously what thief in their right mind will wear armor with their gut exposed? You’re just asking for a quick eviscerate.) I heard something about armor skins in this game right?

Ah I didn’t realize I could get to the main city already. I’ll go check it out, thank you.
If you simply rename the “steal” skill to “Mimic” then it would fit the lore completely.
Amarithel – 17 Norn Thief
Good morning. I am a brand spanking new player and enjoying myself so far, I bought the game two days before the Mad King patch went live, and my current highest character is level 17.
So, with that said, what all can I do with this event? I seem to be able to farm candy corn and other trick or treat resources that are pretty much good for making coin on the black lion market, I can carve a few pumpkins as I run by them, and when I was playing around at level 5 human I saw a few gateway doors that were being swarmed by people and an occasional monster. Though I haven’t seen any of these doors on my Norn character at all, just the human newbie area.
Not wanting to miss this rare event, I’m curious what all is available to me that I am missing out on and what should I be “storing up for later” or going in search of now?
A bit of help here Veterans?
