Ugh .. .this distortion of fanboyism and brainwashing here

Aion had 1 v 1 arena/ “gamemode” and it was super mega giga ultra hyper supra maxi tera uber fun and rewarding.
This was in a hard trinity game , and where the game was actually balanced on team fights (ahem, no! gw2 it’s not, stop lying to yourself ).

A game where you had HARD COUNTERS classes . Do you realize now ? you had to 1 v 1 a hard counter, 80% failure rate against it , and man that was rewarding when you
beat the crap out of that one .
You had like 2 mins to prepare for the fight and it was 2 out 3 rounds . The maps had side objectives(like channeling orbs that gave points/ and lots of others ) that were there to help in this case.
If you were defeated in a fight that won’t end the round and this was great as you could come back, if the enemy used his big spell / long cooldown skills.
You had a ticket a day to participate in this kind of mini tournament. but you could stack them ( gather 5 of them in the week and do 5 mini tournaments in a row in the weekend)

This could soooooooo be in Gw2 . but no…. this is friendly community promoting and bla and bla and blabla circle-jer*ing .

If they wanted to be competitive/rewarding we would have :
– Ladders(correspondent to leagues)
- leagues( corespondedt to mmr)
- 1v1
- maybe(2v2 or 3v3 on Conquest so we can party with a friend against other 2 players ),
- dishonered
- profession mmr ,
- targeting
- no lvl1 player in Ranked arena

none of the mentions actually are right now in the game, they just said nice words about them.

I can’t belive you guys fell for that cheap PR stun with elemental attunement….

Anybody in the right mind wouldn’t make that Elemental Attunement a grandmaster compeating with evasive arcana ( 3 pages of forum complaints after the announcement was made, backs up my point) . They did it so it will lower your expectations , They knew it all along and played this coin …. so now you’ll say “oh look! they listen to us , elementalists are saved”

But did you watch the livestream ? Didn’t it bothered you how they spent 10 minutes on elementalist and 1 hour on engineer ?

How not even 1 explanation for the changes, to why they did what, to why they think it’s ok , and etc …. and how carefully and detailed they went over skills &traits on engineer. Created for them new traits (Lock On , and others; look them up to see your face drop) took care of engineer’s vulnerabilities ( cure conditions ) , improved every elite , gave them F5 , reduced bazilion of cooldowns.
How they even further dumbed down the ranger ? and so many QOL changes to other classes.

Hell, that person(you know who!) didn’t even knew if Geomancer freedom is an existing ele trait , or it was newly added . Shame! Shame ! Shame! like Cercei Lannister . Shame!

Look at ele changes :
- 1/3 of them are “Movement speed adjustments no longer affect the intended travel distance.”
- 1/3 are modifications on skills that apply burning / these are no buff or QOL ; just what every condi-skill in the game gone through
- 1/3 attuments cooldown reduced which in fact it’s a covered up wanna-be-buff since by going in arcana we would’ve got 10 sec cd anyway

Now ask yourself these :

Did we get F5? NO
Did they improve out garbage elites? NO
Do we have elites ? NO but enginner need to have AOE moa now , improved CRATE , improved mortar ( water field + blast finisher)
Did we got any improvement on our utilities ? NO
Did they make conjures , slot worthy (earth shield to be a stun break , etc )? NO
Can we get out of arcana? NO
Can we get out of water ? NO LEL at Ether renewal(the only other way to cure conditions ) being a cantrip now , nerfed it by making it 18 cd sec which means you have to go water to take the cantrip cd reduce
Can we have viable build without cantrips ? NO
Any traits about improving vitality ? NO

Any help for staff Air2,Air3,Earth2,Earth5 ? NO
Any blasts added to staff skills ? NO
Any help on scepter ? NO
Any help on Ride the lightening? NO
Can we have Mistform unnerfed back ? NO

Did they fix Flame shield (aura) to reduce condi duration 20 % , like in tooltip? NO

Did we get any of the new stuff ? ( Resistence , Slow , taunt (on earth shield, could be ) NO
Any QOL ? NO oh blasting staff , yeah cool …. , but how is this helping the others taht don’t play/ don’t wanna play staff?
Can we .. ? NO
i didn’t even finish what I wanted to .. ? NO

So what did ele got ? Oh .. bits of this , bits of that … something , something … Fire auras, and untold Internal Cooldowns on traits ….

Do i like that this class is hard to master and play ? YES
Do i like that i’m doing 3 x effort for mediocre result, and not be rewarded for trying that hard to set-up a combo of 5 spell, in 3 attunements for 1500 dmg … ? NO

Am i going to play this anymore ? ….
(pls, don’t start with “oh ,but wait for tempest ….” )

hey , i know how you feel and how frustrating this is , especially in pvp .
This could be caused by many things , ranging from an broken usb port to hdd bad sectors .

Try this first : to go to you video driver , advanced settings and enable : Triple Buffering

Gust (and Shockwave) suffers from the same unreliability to hit due to projectile speed. Since the scepter skill is buffed, couldn’t the same be applied to those skills as well?

In this instance ,I had a weird experience which left me with mixed feelings :

When Faolain attacked the centaurs (and making it look like the centaurs attacked first), i was like: "-What is she doing ????!!
- NO !
- Bit*h! STOP!
i refuse to participate in this . this in bs . "

and i let Faolain die as i though and hoped this will change something …. but it didn’t .

I was kittened off at first .
I knew it was a memory but this is conflicting with the fact that i had the illusion that i can do something about it( thinking this is why it’s playable and not a video )

Seeing that i cannot go forward through instance, i had to kill the centaurs against my will . Shame on me !

I never understood why it was named : Fire “shield” . That ain’t no shield . It is not protecting you from anything , nor makes the foe hesitate to attack you because he will suffer the consequences .

Now i know this will upset the warrior community, but

why do warriors get to resurrect the dead npc and not necros ?

I mean , come on , necromancers are the ones that play with this stuff. Reanimating things and resurrecting dead things . They should be the only ones allowed to do it .

(i don’t play neither of necro/warrior class)

I would like to have a ,let’s say, main build having new grandmaster(s) in it .
Even though they are subpar, some of them,sometimes, are okaysh .

But we can’t . belive us , we tried ..

because :

30 in water + cantrips → if we want to remove conditions reliable and survive
30 in arcana → so we can play this class.

Those above are our KRYPTONYTE . please undo this spell.

Stop using conditions heavy builds and we’ll stop using that trait . How about this ?

anyway , i’ll feed the troll , and say

  • because of people like you , as Neko said , eles had to suffer 1 year .
  • " in 60 seconds … x heal " <- do you understand 60 seconds in a fight ?
  • “However this condition clear can all be used at once " <- i think your champion magus title from your signature is fake . as any champion magus will never burn his cantrips at once . and if so , then it’s because of pesky conditions players like you who use cheesy builds.

NOT every ELE plays d/d . For the others ,That GRANDMASTER trait is the only way to cure conditions . read again : GRANDMASTER trait.

true , i agree .
especially the part with the ranking .
like: lose versus highest rating server shouldn’t be punishing and winning versus low rating ones shouldn’t be so rewarding .
This way + something like the modified swiss system that op proposed (that accounts the rating) = season 3

(Deso played against SFR and Baruch Bay 4 times and against SFR eight times, if I remember correctly – very unfun).

I don’t understand this .

I mean , ok , maybe it was unfun for you as a person , but …..
speaking of YOUR SERVER : they pretend that they’re number one and they want 1st place . So …… the system gave them this opportunity to show this . In “8 weeks” THE SERVER showed that they are not no. 1 , because they lost , and the true number one is other server .

That is a very good example

Next , the system gave you 4 opportunities to show that you are better than OTHER SERVER (different one ) and you didn’t.

now , because THE SERVER lost, some people come here and say it’s unfun and that the system is broken ….

How dare you !

how dare you to use you only skill that does noticeable damage on a whole weapon set + build once every 30 sec while also channeling it for ~4 sec .

Go to your room ! You are not allowed to make your enemies use their brainz to do something to interrupt you , or get them out of their kitten comfort zone ( decap builds) . you are not allowed to do damage.

As a punishment , you will automatically get dishonorable when you use Meteor Shower!

This is just the beginning guys . On 15th April this forum will be flooded with thieves /others complaining and whining about stone heart . i bet they will find something to complain about Aquatic Benevolence too =))

i agree ,somehow, from this point of view :

the way i see it : they didn’t make a weapon universal for all situations . more likely they want you to use staff when you are in group , d/d for 1v1 ,etc ( or close to this )

So having a trait that will combine all this weapons benefits , makes sense because you won’t benefit from all of them in the same time .

Example : you’re using staff , in www , but then you fall of a cliff or something and start running but there’s a thief following you . now you could switch to d/d without having to change traits

I ,too ,tried to make this “grandmaster” trait work on every weapon ( especially for staff) . obviously… no success

(i know it was sarcasm )

What is funny is that we can never ever ever heal someone with that skill in a fight because of the small aoe + travel time .

example1: you see someone needs heal so you press the skill at his position , but in the fight people move a lot and… you just missed …..

example2 : you know people move a lot in a fight , and you anticipate where your ally will move , and you press the skill and the anticipated position , but he suddenly move on different direction and you miss =))))) )

and let’s not forget that most time we need that heal more that any other ally =))

I’ve got an idea for this skill :

Instead of functioning (sic?) the way it does now ….( we all know that it misses 90% of time:

  • because it goes straight in front of you ; without having some awareness of target movement, terrain ,etc…
  • because your enemy is jumping from your front to your back and so on , or the target is moving fast around you , it goes in cooldown without actually firing)

to be a :

360 degree / no target / point blank blow of wind (starting from inside the elementalist ,coupled with a thunder sound) that will push back anything around you to 600 units away.

it would be :

  • better
  • cooler/fancier (like it really gives us the power of wind )
  • make a good use of the skill
  • gives the staff elementalist a chance to “retaliate” to surprise attacks , or when multiple enemies jump on him.
  • it synergies with the fact that after using this skill we could surround ourselves with the static field .

some sort of this :

Because they used all available evade/block skills on creating the mesmers ( which have more hp than we do ) . now they’re in cooldown . 2 years cooldown
