Can confirm as well, and also at Jormag. Didn’t feel lag while moving, but skills were unresponsive, unable to type in local chat (but could read those that could), and 450 ms ping (usually 32 ms).
So I had submitted a ticket and was told to post this on the forums so the devs could see it…
It’s probably too late for this year, but the other night while goofing around with guild members, and singing the song half the night while playing, came up with this idea for an achievement for the Halloween event, either this year or next if it’s too close already.
Achievement: Thriller
/Dance @ with enemies in the Mad King’s Labyrinth
Rewards: 1 AP per level, up to 5 AP (1, 50, 100, 500, 1000)
Title: Thriller
A hidden side to this too could be that each /dance @ in the party can count towards the achievement, which would help encourage people to group up (eg: if a party of five players did this, it would count as five and not one for each of the players in the group). It doesn’t have to be though (however, I can see the logistics of an entire squad stopping to /dance @ a legendary boss in there and then wiping).
If copyright prevented this from happening, it can be altered in a few ways (or logistics of the entire squad stopping to /dance @ the enemy), such as:
Another option, and this can be used as a promotional tool, is to get guilds to compete with the best flashdance video of this being done in the Labyrinth. Perhaps they get real life loot (like a Bloody Prince plushie) or some item for their guild hall to commemorate the experience. Or time it with a release of another volume of How to Dance in the gemstore, or make this a reward from it (or part of a quest chain incorporated with it).
And just in case anyone is missing the feels on this… video
So I’ve been wondering for awhile now on something: when we opened our guild hall and managed to explore it, there are of course numerous places where the flag with our guild emblem is shown. Except one spot, where there is a pair of our guild flags next to a pair of black and white checkered ones. The size, shape, location, etc… of the flags are identical to the actual guild flag, but the texture is just missing and instead has the checkered texture that changes in size as you run to and from it. I’ll attach the pic underneath. But, for the sake of my OCD, is this intentional or is it a bug? It has been driving me nuts now for six months.
I always enjoyed the challenge of Skyhammer and needing to be aware of where you were standing. I also enjoy watching people jump to their deaths like lemmings (theme from The Simpsons anyone?) We even made a spatial-awareness training area in our guild arena for it/inspired by it, the PvP guys in our guild loved it.
Thank you for starting this thread Archon, and hopefully there will be a continued quality dialogue about the DBL.
Typical hour for you in the ABL…
- It’s been forever since I played these (since 2nd season of WvW tournament), but usually I would run in the zerg or stand in one of the towers/keeps to scout and report back in map chat if enemies were seen.
Compare your experience above with a typical hour in EB…
- Pretty much the same experience when we had ABL: run with the zerg or secure a tower/keep and report from there. However, since HoT my group will run small team havoc groups around the map, flipping smaller objectives and sieging up keeps and SMC, changes to my playstyle that I’ve learned from running DBLs.
Compare your experiences described above with an hour spent in the new BLs.
- I do a LOT more now in the BLs. Our guild is finally able to do guild missions, which we do 2-3 nights a week in the DBL. Outside of those, I often run in a small group, flipping camps, sentries, and towers, and being a general annoyance. Sometimes even during slower times I’ll solo roam now and take camps and sentries on my own.
Describe the nature of combat in the BLs in the past…
- I think the new BLs have taught me to learn maps quicker, be more analytical in my approaches to what is available with chokepoints and possible locations for siege, and become more confident in my own pvp abilities to the point that I’ve actually played pvp now. It also shifted my playstyle from running zerg for gaining reward to running small groups and solo. Our guild too has thrived on the DBL with the guild upgrades encouraging our guild to work on leveling our guild hall (level 56 leveled by 7 people for the most part).
In your experience, compare the time it takes to take a structure or objective…
- I think on the DBL it takes about the same time as the ABL, but you don’t need as many people as there are fewer people contesting you taking the objective. The “time” spent is still used to create siege, take down the gates/walls, and then capture the lord. The only challenge is that the camps are a bit further away than they used to be, but easy enough to deal with. Camps are easier to take, but that is probably the gear/spec being run now too.
How is the loot and wxp for you compared to the past?…
- At first when HoT dropped, I was very disappointed that no one was in the DBL, as that was where I preferred to run and I really liked the looks of the map. However, once people came in, it filled back up (I’m on a T3/4 server). Loot/wxp is comparable to what it was outside of the tournaments in the ABL. The wvw guild missions however give a TON of loot, which helps, and that’s 2 nights a week for me of gameplay. And I think I’m earning wxp faster now than I used to in the ABL, as I’m getting 2-3 wxp levels a night. I do use an elite spec, but am considering going back to my old wvw spec I had been using. And really, for other in-game goals, I think they all work together hand in hand. Wvw helped us level our guild hall and helped me get HoT hero points, and leveling the guild hall has encouraged me to play more PvE again, as well as WvW giving me the courage to try pvp, which was also needed for the guild hall which then in turn helped us in wvw.
How will the map change impact the long sessions…
- If you mean going back to ABL, I’ll stop playing WvW again. I got tired of standing in ABL and EB for 12+ hours a day during the tournaments. Our server is finally having people play in the BLs again, and when we have the people to do so, it gives us an advantage over other servers that are ignoring it. Now, if you mean DBL, I’m back in WvW after a year and a half of avoiding it and pvp and really enjoying it. It is because of the DBL that I’m finally able to enjoy a balance of PvX gameplay in GW2.
…describe how the new BLs could be improved.
- I think I’m one of the people that like the new BLs, but possibly make a ledge here and there on the high cliffs that we can land on more easily with a fall assist trait. And maybe find a way to make towers more rewarding to hold for the server, such as each tower gives a buff to the server that holds it (eg: increased supply given at all objectives, increased health, increased run speed, increased toughness). I don’t mind the size, but also fixing the WPs at the keeps so they are not always contested to aid mobility.
…describe how the borderlands work to a new WvW player.
- It’s been a good three years since I first played WvW, so this probably isn’t a good answer, but they have always been good for training new WvW players, though that has now shifted I think into EotM instead since that launched.
…describe how the borderlands work to a veteran WvW player that is new to the maps.
- It was confusing at first. But, once you realize that fundamentally they are the same (citadel, three keeps, four towers, six camps, and a bunch of sentries and choke points in betwee, and a now former PvE event in the middle), they are easy to learn. A good veteran player can stand in a keep and see the vantage points needed to defend it, as well as see how it integrates with the guild leveling system.
Which map am I most likely to find you currently, if you’re on GW2?
- If I’m not running around Tyria or farming, I play the new DBL maps.
…From this thread, your top five priorities are, in order:
1. Stability & skill balance
2. Fix or revert DBL
3. Rewards
4. Population balance
5. Scoring…
Thank you Mike for taking the time to read this and commenting. If we’re shifting the talking points to these five, I’d like to offer my voice as well, having been in GW2 since the original open beta and having played exclusively WvW during the S1 and S2 tournaments, PvX in S3, then taking a break to play PvE until HoT, when we shifted back to PvX in our guild. In fact there are many on our server whom our guild has taught the mechanics and guild integration needed for the DBL maps.
1.) Stability & Skill Balance
Having talked with a few in our guild who have played PvP, skill balance has always been imbalanced, just depending on which iteration we’re in, one profession is more favored than others. It always has come down to figuring out how to shut down your opponent to get the advantage. Perhaps implement a system for gear like what we have in PvP, where it is amulet-based and our actual PvE gear is just aesthetic clothing. I always see new players struggle to get decent gear for WvW, which causes more imbalances. Get rid of that imbalance and make it so that the PvP portion of WvW no longer has the variable of “gear,” and that will help to balance things out.
2.) Fix or Revert DBL:
There was talk at one point of having the DBL and ABL on a rotation with a third map. Could we move to that and then possibly have each map up for each BL somehow? I know the original reason of having every BL be identical was so that no server would have an advantage. Honestly, I love the new maps, they are more detailed to see, especially if/when you’re spending a LOT of time in them. Part of why I stopped playing WvW when I did, and why I avoid EB, is because the map became boring. If we went back to ABL exclusively, honestly, I’d probably no longer have incentive to play in WvW.
As for complaints of PvE being in WvW, those complaints have always been there. Anyone else remember the quaggans in the lake? Seems that there has always been a challenge in WvW as to what exactly to do with the largely ignored center of the map. I will admit that the oasis event did give some instability to the maps, but, it also followed the trend of needing something to happen in that area of the map so it was not ignored. Perhaps if some sort of a citadel was placed there instead that we could fight over, similar to a miniature version of SMC, it would help. Then, make said objective give some sort of buff if/when held over time.
The size of the DBL is a little big, but with the layout, I also don’t see how it could be condensed down without 6 months or more of overhaul at the developer level. And going back to ABL I do not think is a solution either, unless it is in rotation with a third BL map (and if you really want to make most players scream, underwater BL, though it would make the DBL look a lot better in comparison).
If the solution to WvW came down to fixing the DBL maps, the only real suggestions I can see are to set it up so trebuchets are useful mechanics again for taking towers/keeps, and perhaps make it so the cliffs in the map are lower. Or bring in gliders so when one team on top of a cliff is running next to an opposing team at the bottom of it, an actual fight can occur.
3.) Rewards
I really think rewards are dependent on population balance. If you’re on a server/tier that does not use the BLs, then there are fewer players and less flipping of objectives to generate reward. A few weeks into HoT I had criticized aNet for lack of reward in the DBL. I was incorrect. I needed to criticize at that time a lack of people. But, as guilds built up and more were willing to explore/learn the map, it balanced back. Now, perhaps if there were reward tracks similar to PvP implemented into WvW we’d be able to get more rewards the way PvP has (which seems higher than PvE even to me).
4.) Population Balance
I am on a T3/4 server, and have had guildies transfer into us from T1/2 who say that the BLs up there are dead as everyone is doing massive zergs in EB. For T3/4, the BLs are FUN! We focus mainly on small group havoc tactics, whether it be splitting up and taking multiple camps at the same time (camps, shrines, and sentries are all soloable), or staying together to hold or claim areas of the map. I can only imagine what anything under T5/6 is like with the even smaller servers.
Perhaps addressing the servers as gold, silver, and bronze leagues again will make the dialogue with the players easier to discuss, as tactics differ widely between the population sizes. T3/4 right now seems just right – we have activity in our BLs, we have activity in EB, and we have guilds using the guild hall based tactics as well within it all. T1/2 from what I understand, the BL maps are dead and everyone plays in EB in massive zergs and have queues to get in. And I will guess that T7/8 are probably dead in the BL just because those servers are that much smaller. Bring back “low” as a definition for server population, open up very low cost transfers to them (but not free – that will ruin a server, look at HoD).
Another idea too is to allow in PvE the ability to have a server-specific district of the map in the main cities. Our WvW shifted drastically when we went to megaservers, and we went from winning in the leagues to losing. We planned and met in PvE cities, knew everyone on our server from that. Allow us to choose to be in a megaserver map or our main server map, as opposed to full blown districts from GW1 or the current system of megaservers only. Make people who have come since the implementation of megaservers see why WvW matters to the server.
5.) Scoring
I do like that player deaths now count towards the score, but it also seems that it can be a tactic that can be exploited, and possibly one that becomes harmful on the servers where people use WvW as a place to duel between each other (always happens in our EB outside of SMC). Perhaps balance it so that deaths are awarded at time of PPT as well: 5 points for most kills, 3 points for second place, 1 point for fewest kills/most deaths, or have it weighted better.
Another “problem” where people have complained comes to overnight scores, or scoring that happens during times where one server may have more population than others. S2 of the tournament, we often talked on HoD about having the overnight advantage – because we had a guild who would come through overnight and cap objectives. Our server has always aimed to have an overnight guild do this, point being, when our opponents go to bed, we then have 8 hours of PPT shifted in our favor before they come back online to fight. Perhaps weighing the algorithm to take in account number of players present in WvW will assist with this as well, but given that the players do not know the population, it is a algorithm that will have to be looked at by aNet. So if Green has 20 players, Blue has 10, and Red has 5, the weighting of the scoring would balance so that 10 points is larger to Red than to Green.
Though really, population balance, scoring, and rewards all will balance each other out if the population can be better balanced. Population leads to activity, activity leads to rewards, and rewards are incentive to push for scoring, which lead back to incentive to get a population into WvW.
Didn’t Rebecca Black already answer this a year before GW2 release?
“It’s Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend, weekend!”
On a more serious note, whatever time the reset was before the change worked, even if it seemed a little late for east coast players at times. WvW reset always was the signal of the official start of the weekend and a fun late night of just killing the enemies. Pushing it back to Saturday just killed 1/3 of the WvW playtime for the weekend.
I would definitely back something similar to the old GW1 districts for the maps. Though that system had its own challenges too, it was definitely something workable for large events.
And on a lighter note… John Smith has paired with Susan for this. Please tell me there is a big blue box involved that is bigger on the inside.
It just sucks that a few bad apples have to spoil it for the rest. For [AIR], I’d definitely report them if I saw their guild tag. As long as you all have been on HoD, I really don’t know anyone who would be against your guild. And Faux, welcome back to HoD. It’s unfortunate that your guild’s return had to coincide with such horrid circumstances.
Being a guild leader (TNL) on HoD as well as Heibi, while I cannot speak for our entire server, it is the general consensus of our server that we do not tolerate what these hackers are doing. I know if one of my own guildies was hacking and I found out about it, I would report it. My own guild does not tolerate that lack of sportsmanship, nor do any of the community that I know of on HoD.
That said, on a more positive note (that is a little off topic), even if HoD managed to get to T3 this week for WvW via false measures of a few hackers, I do have to compliment and commend both SBI and SoS this week. I know everyone in my own guild is having an absolute blast with the challenge that has presented itself, whether it came from honorable means or not, and we are learning a lot from our other two competitors. I haven’t had this much fun in WvW since the Season 2 Tournament, and most of it is because of the challenge brought to us from SBI and SoS both. My guild is primarily a small roaming guild with small groups that run on the borderlands, and it is good to see the numbers again on the BL from our competitors as well as the challenges you all bring.
So, a definite /salute to SBI and SoS, and my small guild and I will continue to do what we can to keep up good sportsmanship as well as report what we can when we see problems happening that would otherwise alter the outcome of the match and/or promote poor sportsmanship in the game.

UPDATE: We managed to get this specific mission to finally work, but we had to launch it while we were all in Lions Arch and then go into WvW. Other missions we’ve been able to queue up from anywhere in Tyria.
Not sure if this is a problem with WvW, Guild Missions, or Guild, but we wanted to report this anyway. It’s also probably already known but we’re hoping that extra data from the error we encountered may help.
Tonight our guild was working on the easy guild mission “WvW Rank” to earn 10,000 points in WvW, but the mission was acting glitchy. As soon as we scored any points, the bar filled in showing we had completed 10,000 WXP already, and it was after only capturing a sentry. From there, we continued the mission, taking several camps and a couple towers with five of us from our guild until the mission timed out and showed it failed. The guild officer leading us had led this same mission before in his other guild with success following the same tactics we did tonight. At that point, when we tried to relaunch the mission, the mission would not relaunch at all (no response from that specific mission in the UI) until one of us relogged from the game entirely. When we were able to relaunch the mission, getting any WXP filled in the bar to 10,000. We tried this as a group, a squad, and ungrouped as individuals as well with no difference.
During this time though, we did try to see if the medium version of this guild mission worked, and it did (though we were a little short on time).
Is there any workaround to get this to work properly, or is this one of those odd bugs that we encountered? We do not mind doing the mission again, they are fun and we enjoy it, but we figured we would report this on the forum to alert the devs/QA in hopes that any data of what we encountered tonight could help out.
This morning I went to do the Hydra Queen event and, though I got gold and the in-world and on-screen chests, did not get credit for the achievement. Other older threads have listed that you have to be standing at the chest for it to count (which I was), and others linked to the wiki where they claimed it said at that time you had to keep Lionguard Jenny alive, though that information has since been pulled from the wiki.
Are these still the case for the event? Or is there another bug/glitch happening? It would be great if someone from aNet could look into this.
And I have the same problem as well, submitted a ticket in game but figured it was best to check the forum too. As above posters did, I have all six ornaments, received and consumed the gift, and have the star. Relogged, and nothing.
Our guild mission for the PvP Stronghold: Summon 2 Stronghold Champions did not credit the four we summoned in the match, meeting the criteria described in game. We had a guild team together (3/5), summoned 4 during our time in there, and triggered the mission before triggering the match. We even were close to winning for once! Which is a minor miracle since none of us PvP. But, the fact now we have to keep trying to do this is very irritating, especially since we couldn’t do last week’s either as Stronghold was shut down.
I even managed to snag a screen shot of two of our champions that we summoned running, yet none of them counted.
They’re making the rounds again for sure. Just got the one below, reported right away. Easy clues to know it’s not an aNet employee because there’s no aNet icon on the mail, and the bottom of the message says that it was sent by another player and not an employee.
I wanted to comment here on the quality of gameplay in WvW after the HoT release.
First, my own history in the game: I consider myself a moderate to hardcore player. I like to take time each day to do a bit of everything, from open world fights to mastery progression, to even just spending time in Lion’s Arch and farming. Prior to HoT, I knew that if I wanted a bit of fun, I could always go into WvW and find people to run along with and with a moderate effort, at least get some rewards out of it – some fun, some loot, some farming, and some Badges of Honor.
After waiting two weeks and taking extra time to play through a lot of the new HoT content, and hopping into WvW once in awhile, I noticed that two things were lacking though. First, I actually do like the new challenges and size of the BL maps. My guildies and I did S1 and S2 of the WvW tournaments on a server that won for their ranking, and we were always pleased with whatever we could do in there.
Now? WvW is a complete ghost town. We’ve been everything from kitten T8 since launch, and had been averaging around T4; we slipped this week for the first time in probably a year down to T5. WvW is lacking PEOPLE, and when I did go into Edge of the Mists and found a small group to roam with, taking towers and supply areas, I soon noticed that WvW is also LACKING REWARD. I also realize that the reset day has changed, but this should not impact what I saw.
Pre-HoT it was easy to get into even a small zerg on a map and run for an hour, easily gain 100 Badges of Honor, a bit of loot, and enjoy yourself. Last night, it took probably a half hour or more of roaming BL maps and EB before giving in to go to EotM where I finally found a commander. We ran the map for probably an hour, easily took half the map for the green team, and the entire time, I only received 1 Badge of Honor. Part of why I went into WvW in the first place, other than to enjoy it, was to also help farm badges for my guild and the guild hall. In the past I used to be able to run for a night and have enough badges to get an exotic piece of armor. Now, if that’s even in game anymore, it will be easier just going to Orr instead.
PLEASE aNet, take some time and effort to fix WvW. While some of the community plays it exclusively, a majority of players are still casual in it. Why bother alienating casual players from 1/3 of your game by having it empty and lacking reward? I have been reading the forums here and at Reddit the last few weeks on reviews of HoT and have seen numerous comments that the “Fixes” for WvW have been to nerf resource nodes as an “attempt” to fix the problems. The problem isn’t farming in WvW but all around lack of reward. Why should I go into WvW for an hour to get 1 Badge of Honor while taking towers, keeps, and more? That was an hour I could have spent working on my masteries or getting better at PvP so I can get the reward potions for my guild hall as well.
I have played this game since launch, and while there have been times our server was on the bottom in rank, even then, it was guaranteed that there was a place I could go to find community with my server and have an enjoyable time with them. While reward and loot are not my main concern in the game, it is still nice to be rewarded with more than one Badge of Honor for spending more than an hour in WvW. At that rate, I could have gone to Orr and gotten at least 5 gold farming and a ton of karma for the efforts.
Bad skill lag happening on the Verdant Brink map for about the last hour. Skills taking 2-3 times as long to cast and elite specialization skills may or may not work at all, it is coming in waves. Also, skills that utilize ground targeting are almost not castable at all.
Rocks have appeared/covered the entrance of our mine in the Gilded Hollow guild hall. We had unlocked the mine earlier this week and have hit our aetherium cap (is this an issue related to hitting said cap?) as well as our influence-conversion cap. We have had the rocks also behind the crystal appear and disappear a few times this week as well.

Pretty sure it’s bugged. I completed the story, but my masteries didn’t unlock and it still says I need to complete the storystep…
Create a new character and do the story. Maybe there’s a bug that prevents you from unlocking them with a character if you originally skipped the story.
I can confirm that this is how to “fix” the bug as the same thing happened to me. I ended up making a second beta toon and went thru the personal story solo.
My husband and I are having the same issue, both at home and at his workplace where he plays from as well. This did not start until yesterday’s patches as he has been trying to complete world completion on his warrior.
Also, upon trying to exit the game, my system lagged out and the game client froze. I had to manually use task manager to close the game whereas before I could use F11 and Exit taking maybe a couple seconds at most. I was unable to close the game with the little red x.
It may or may not be linked, but my e-mail address upon logging into the website here was not verified; I’ve had the account since before launch of GW2 and though I had changed e-mail addresses about a month or so ago, I thought it was verified. I had checked as the hubs mentioned the new security verification and I went to update mine.
Otherwise, I am having the same glitches as other players are reporting (eg: skills untrained on random characters and the achievements not displaying correctly). Thankfully only 3 of 9 slots are affected, but my main is one affected.
In a way it makes sense though: how many of our guilds have built up guild buffs over the years and such, and how many of them, especially on the day/night of WvW resets, will be turning on their buffs? When doing testing, regardless of of what the testing is, the tester needs to be able to define and in some cases eliminate variables that would render the results useless. It’s science!
Most articles from aNet published that they DID want feedback from us on balance and how we as players liked the new profession and the new PvP map. Even the betas from the original GW2 release had specific variables that aNet needed subjective data (and in everyone playing, objective data) from. And it wasn’t just GW2, other games I’ve been in the pre-release betas would actually have pop-ups built in to ask about specific things.
My advice, and take it with a grain of salt, is use your other guild communication, and remember that you are NOT limited to just playing your revenant for the entire weekend. My own guildies and I are grouped together, in voice communication, and alternating between the Revs and our other characters as well. In fact, it’s been a blast doing that! Especially as we love theory crafting! So look on the bright side: you purchased early access to testing and are getting the chance to help shape what is going to come when the x-pack finally does release and a chance to start your personal theorycrafting early as well. The Rev is NOT in the game complete yet, nor do we have full access to what it will encompass when it is. Take advantage of this chance to help shape what everyone will eventually be playing.
If the 2 from silver league were the worst and the 2 from bronze league were the best, I don’t see where the problem is.
GoM did not lose once in the tournament, how is it fair that we(SF) get put with silvers and they get put with bronze they were technically the best in bronze :L
I dunno. HoD was in the same place at this time after S1 as GoM is now, and look where HoD ended up this time – top of Silver. First week out of Bronze, we were placed against two silver teams as well and won. GoM and HoD were the only two servers this entire season that were undefeated. And from what I remember fighting GoM previously, you definitely have the push to go upwards again.
ETA: Looked at the Matchups for this week and I apologize; I had assumed OP was from GoM but it is SF-NSP-CD. I can at least say that KoMe is mostly off of CD now so it shouldn’t be as rough. Though, give it a try, you never know what your server is capable of, especially after the other two servers have been in leagues as well.

The only group this solution does not address are the players who purchased T3 Human Cultural armor with in game gold. I believe you also owe them an apology and need to find some way to make up this error to them as well. But they are the ones who should be consulted on exactly what that would entail.
GrayFox, your entire post is the best summary of what is happening with the recycled-mesh problem. THIS quote is exactly it, and I do not think that anyone else could have said it better.
After reading this, I did also remember that the actual in-game purchase of the T3 Human Cultural armor also awarded achievement points to the player purchasing it. While some people bought the armor for the actual achievements, most people also bought it just for the look to skin over other existing exotic quality armor.
Yes I also forgot about the people that bought dyes for the current version. That’s another problem when it changes if people that bought dyes don’t like the change. Seriously, it would be best IMO to cut losses on this matter. The armor has been pulled from the gems store. Let people that bought it keep it and put the revamp in the store when ready for those that want it. This would save a huge amount of customer support time dealing with refunds, splitter refunds, and all sorts of other issues related to people that made changes to their appearances based on the new armor they bought.
I would support that option. Sort of like when the Magic Find was removed from gear, players were given a choice of what stats that could be applied to it. Perhaps a solution like this could be applied here as well. Let the player choose between the existing skin similar to the T3 Human, the new skin, or another existing light armor skin from the gem store without having to purchase a new skin.
There are also the concerns of what happens to armor should you want the new skins removed off of it. Does a player have to spend their own gems to purchase splitters? Currently, a set of armor skins is 800 gems. Purchasing six splitters to remove the skins will cost 1,350 gems for five splitters and an additional 300 gems for the sixth, which is 1,650 gems. Even with a refund of the original 800 gems, a player is going to have to either purchase an additional 850 gems to buy splitters, go ahead and find a new armor skin for the refunded 800 gems that they like, or thankfully the Transmutation Crystals are cheap enough, they could buy ten for 360 gems.
Perhaps if aNet is planning to refund the 800 gems to the player, they could also either change the armor back to the previous look for the player or give them six free splitters so that they could do it themselves. Or, to quote TrogDor, just cut the losses at this point. The people who bought the T3 look alike bought it because they liked the look, not because it actually was the Human T3 Cultural Armor.
And really, in the eight years that Guild Wars 1 has been on the market, is it really that hard for aNet to find a more obscure armor to recycle the look off of?
@StinVec Thank you for posting this! I had been having a slightly different problem with the gem store tonight, and after using your directions above, not only was it resolved, but it also cleared up a problem I had been having since this summer with textures on the screen not rezzing in.
I was having the same problem as well, and was able to find a solution here on the Forums. The user StinVec posts the solution in the second post of the thread:

Though it is for a different glitch with the Gem Store, not only did it completely resolve the problem you are describing that I also was having, but it also cleared up another problem I had been having with slow rez-time for textures in the game.
Hope this helps!
I had the same thing happen to me just now. 100% map completion on all zones, except the one new POI in Gendarran, even got the two Gifts of Exploration. Character Select screen is showing now both 99% and 100% map completion as well. My map even stated 100% Map Completion for Gendarran Fields. A little disappointing since my guild was sitting and waiting as I finished what I thought was the last spot on the map, even held off a week so that others could be online as well. In the past hadn’t players been grandfathered in on things like this?
