Shield of avenger command stun breaks too. So does SyG (bonus stability), SY (bonus everything but long CD), CoP (all condi’s gone too) and JI (tele + burn dps). Still more power to you for using it.

Sure, but overall the 12% damage reduction, retal, weakness, and stunbreak on a now 20 second cooldown make it quite a good deal for a full zerk guard with less than 12k hp.

Get your zerker armor and throw it out and go make yourself a set of marauders armor

Buy it through Anet, better safe and spend more, then be banned/hacked and out of pocket

I would like to see a pvp zone inside pve. It could be designed so that one can find rare and valuable resources. Make the zone lootable pvp even to cause nice action. Competition, we need competition.

I agree with what Annonrae said. I wanted to like ArcheAge, I loved the ships and the fishing the whole deal, but forcing players in to PvP in order to do certain activities or get certain mats/loot is just outright stupid.

Now, I dont mind a bit of EotM or WvW, lately I’ve after 3 years been dabbling in sPvP, I like it yes its great but I know I’m going to fight players. I am a huge PvEer always have been, and like most PvEers, being forced into a zone to do something or get certain loot/mats, isnt fun when you aren’t that great at PvP.

Don;t bring the “l0lz g3t gud n00b” either, I am alright at PvP but I do not feel the need to go around killing people because I can. Even if this zone had 0, none, zip, diddly squat reward for killing other players, people would still do it because they can kill someone. That would be the sole reason “because they can”

I would rather there not be name wipes or anything of the sort, and If the name is taken, someone beat you do it. As GW1, we had sir names, it was good for having that name you wanted and just add something on the end, I use many different variations of “Throttle Fox”

My ranger will always and hopefully forever be “Charr Merchant” used to run around with a friend who no longer plays who was called “Human Merchant” much funnies involved with a name like this. But, I know one day I’ll be forced to use a name change if I play it too much and someone reports me, toon just had its 3rd birthday too

So I’ve decided to finally make a legendary, the question is, and I want to make sure as the answers I’ve found were back from 2013, If I soul bind my precursor “the chosen”, and use it, can I still use the soul bound shield to make the flameseeker prophecies?

shield does have uses, I’ve his shield #5 in WvW while trebs and catapults were shooting at me and bounced them right back. I don’ know if you can still do this, but you need the timing right either way.

I’ve just gotten back into GW2 after being forced to go on a long break, I have 3 level 80s at the moment(guard, war and thief). I love to dungeon crawl and want to get into fractals, also love doing WvW and the new EotM.

Hey, returning player here, I’ve just gotten back in to GW2, last time I played was when fractals came out. So I decided to start looking for a large guild that guild missions as well as fractals, thought I haven’t done any of these in a long long time and would like to start doing them again and learning the ropes from scratch.

My main is a geared(exotic) guardian(old condi removal bunker build), I also have a zerker warrior(80) and working on a Mesmer and ele, I also have a thief that I rarely play, but want him due to he has 400JC.

I have just some back from a rather large break from the game(12 months or so).
Oceanic time zone would be best but not needed as I’m aussie but also up late a night.

Probably a silly question but, do you have level 75-80 gear? I’ve been on SE explorable runs and the ele pinged his gear and he was in level 50-60 green gear and dieing every pull to crappy mobs my warrior was 2 hitting with 1 skill

current build is the 20/25/0/10/15 with general zerker gear seeing I played a bunker guard I wanted an offensive warrior

What runes should I be putting on my weapons, I’m currently using “of Rage” and find it to be pointless most of the time. I’m thinking the sigils that give a small AoE or bleed on crit chance to be rather good seeing i have a high crit rate. Doesnt any one have any suggestions on what I should be leaning towards or using?

Some people really need to shut up, 9 months or so for guildwars 2 and maybe 3 hour total down time. This is the first major problem they have, show some respect and stop pressing the login button.

Not true, they had a down time in the 3 day head start, the servers overloaded something bad, they had to stop online sales of GW2 and the servers were down for a few hours then too. But I agree with you

Banned for what? the guy had access to the bank, you can change the access rights, in theory he had rights to take them so he did. If they didn’t want him to take it don’t give him access, this falls back on the owners not setting it up right. It does suck that it happened but its a lesson and they learned the hard way

Agreed Starscream, I loved CoF armor, I got mine wiht in the 1st month of hte game being released took a break came back and saw everyone had it so I went transmuted over mine with T3 cultural (dreadnaught) not many from what I has seen are running around with full sets of that

I have waypoints they get me from A to B quickly

If people want to pay for the skin, let em… There doesn’t seem to be any hard proof that it makes them more money doing it the RNG way. The only reason i see it being done this way is to keep them more rare.

I can’t say for sure it makes them more money than the alternative, but I can say for sure it makes them a ton of money. There are way too many testimonials in this forum alone of individuals spending hundreds of dollars and not getting what they want. If that is indeed the case, as it appears to be given the posts of people complaining, then ANet is inevitably going to continue the trend.

Inevitably people will get annoyed and stop playing or stop throwing money into the game knowing their chances are so low its pointless, now if they were sold, more people would buy them knowing they get them, where there’s a ‘chance’ to me thats a small chance and I’ve open enough to know its a small one, I wouls easily pay the same amount to be 100% sure to get the skin but no, I need ot throw $100’s to get stuff that is pointless to my character, hell even make the other crap trade-able but its not

$120+ RL money into keys, i lost count after 70 keys used and not one kitten thing was useful, exp boosters and all the other boosters are kinda pointless to me seeing I only use my 80, 5% boost armor and weapons are stupid its such a piddly amount . TP and bank express are also useless when I can go to a town or sell from in the field anyway, black lion mining pick? useless I have the molten I paid $10 for.

I would EASILY have just went and paid 4000 gems(half of what I paid for keys) to know I get the skin instead of this stupid “give me money and I give you crap and make you angry at devs box”

I see many Guardians in WvW and PvE, and when I get in a group somewhere I normally get the group saying “hope your better then the last guardian we had” so you may see lots of guardians, but by the looks of it, most aren’t any good

Get some friends get on vent or TS and go run something, for me, this game DID die I got bored and went to play something else. 9 months later I came back with friends and joined a good guild and started doing dungeons and fractals, I like playing now playing with friends and having a laugh on voice coms changes the game, but in the end if you don’t like it, you can always play something else, GW2 isn’t the only game out there

I’m looking for a guild that wouldn’t mind me tagging a long with them for either a challenge or puzzle for the commendations. After getting invited to tag along for a guild bounty today and realizing I only need 2 more commendations for the tower shield I would like to get. I play a guardian if that would help, I can also guest to the guild server in order to complete said missions if the need arises.

As the title says, I’m looking for a guild, after getting invited to tag along for a guild bounty today and realizing I only need 2 more commendations for the tower shield I would like to get. So I decided to start looking for a large guild that does these guild missions as well as fractals, thought i haven’t done any of these yet and would like to start doing them. I have to disagree, its all about how you play, I didn’t like it at first either. Once I got geared with the right stuff running what people now call a ‘bunker’ build, PvE was great and was unkillable and in WvW it took 4, thats right 4 to take me out.

When people see guardian they think tank, but you should really think melee support, you skills and support as a bunker get but better if you are around people unlike a warrior you are a group class and that’s where you shine. Specced right you can support and still hand out a beat down.

I want to say L2Play, but I think you know how too you just aren’t playing this class just right, play with what works for you and you will like the guardian

Ya, what Guanglai Kangyi said, though full tank spec is nice, a few points or work arounds to get some nice damage output will help with the agro

Well as the title says my male charr has a texture missing, in a rather in convenient place. I have seen other male charr with out this issue, has anyone else seen this on their charr or am I in need of a new pair of pants?

That’s good I do enjoy both Guardian and warrior, I was just hoping my guardian would still be wanted and welcome into groups

I haven’t played in a about 9 months and have a very good geared level 80 guardian, seeing a few “warrior beats guardian in groups” posts I am wondering is guardian still wanted in groups or do people prefer warriors. My guardian melee/support and I do love playing it seeing he was near unkillable in PvE and WvW when I was last playing. I’m wondering should I put him a side and play a warrior for now and work with it for group PvEing?

I tried other classed, even took em to 80, wasn’t what I was looking for(played rit in gw1) but i thought why not I’ll give the guardian a run and take it 20 or so see how I like it. I LOVE IT even in WvW I can walk up and decides who dies, if you are not level 80 with exotics in WvW you will not kill me plain and simple, I can last for a hell of a long time in WvW. As for dungeons I feel much more useful then my engineer ever did, but that’s just me.
Sure I would like a better ranged weapon and a few tweaks here and there, but over all I think the guard is just fine.

dont like it leave, plain and simple, guild wars is free and if at the moment wow or bl2 or something seems more fun, go play it, guild wars will still be sitting here when you get back, and unlike wow your gear wont get outdated in 2 weeks

I do like how GW1 and 2 did this, you can get ‘the best’ armor and weapons rather easily so you can run off and do all the cool things with your friends/guild and so forth. Legendary weapons and armor just like elite armor(kurz lux primeval OBBY) were all for looks, if you want the nice looking stuff you had to put the effort in, but on the other hand, if you just wanted to play at your own rate and run off to play with friends now and then you didn’t need 7k+ gs to do a high end instance like you did in wow because you were pvping or doing something else and simply didn’t have the gear to even compete. Thats what made GW appeal to me, I can go off and play somethign else, BL2 X3AP or something for a while and then come back and play with my guild and friends with out being behind in gear and forced to miss out like I would be in WoW.

I find the #5 skill more fitting for a shield than the #4. It reminds me of 300, where they all raise their shields to stop the rain of arrows.

On a serious note, I’m currently 74( HOLY CRAP, I thought i was lower) I use greatsword as my main and mace/shield as my swap to, I find the shield to be situational and I haven’t had an issue spinning around to throw protection on that group member that’s bailing for his life, plus it heals me, and with another talent it removes a condition, even if its not good for somethings, condition removal a little boost in mitigation and the bubble for a heal and to ease the pressure in a pinch I find helpful, I have NOT used focus as of yet, so far I found, for me anyway using the shield to be just fine, I think it comes down to personal preference in the end, not what is better, focus may be ‘better’ but its complete garbage if i cant use it the right way and visa versa

I received this mail from a gold seller, I do not want to take the gold get obvious reasons, but I am unable to send it back, I have reported them for “selling gold”

That event chain does happen very fast, it unlocks Arah and most will try to plow through these events as fast as they can seeing they can still bug and gtlich out if its too slow. If at one point capping camp C or camp D takes too long, camp A or B will get attacked and sometimes it wont stop being attacked there for will not let you restart or finish the event, this bugs out the 2 temples the cannon and even make Arah stay locked and not let you in. Finsihing then as fast as you can, is best.

I remember the 1st time it was unbugged, zone was full and all you could hear was “FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!!” every 3 seconds for a good 45 minutes

Tyrian Claws [CLAW] is a large guild i’ve joined on Ehmry Bay, they are nice and helpful on average theres about 40+ people on at any given time to help out and answer questiond or to just chat too, does seem to be furry exclusive or 95% furry anyway. You can throw me a mail/IM/whisper( ThrottleFox.2735) in game, im not a leader but I can get an invite send out to you, or you can go check out the profile “guildwars2furs” on FA(im sure you know what FA is), has more info and leaders to contact and so forth.

I have heard of people talking about a guild referred to as “FUR” on Emhery Bay, I was wondering if this was that guilds ticker/tag, if so this would mean there are 2 guilds with the one ticker/tag. Is it possible for 2 guilds to have the one ticker/tag on the same server?

So I was out leveling my guardian in harathi hinterlands(?) started to work my way over the the spiders and bandits, you know where the giant spider spawns. I proceeded north through spiders doing my heart, as I made my further north I came across 5 botters all with the name ‘happy’ at the start, most of which were only level 28 and 1 being level 39(down arrow), so I started reporting them. All of a sudden the level 39 went into a down state and slowly died “no big deal” I thought to myself as I watched them to kill monsters at now a much slower rate seeing their ‘big gun’ is now missing. After about 5 minutes of watching the remaining 4, one ran off and started running around like a chicken with it head cut off, while the other 3 continued to attack monsters, then this happened and I started laughing. We know the GMs are doing their best and probably just cant keep up right now, but it looks like the monsters they are killing are sick of it too, these 2 got their own back “GO SPIDER!”

Side note, they seem to be too spread out after posting and are dieing quite often

All the dungeons seem to be really buggy, which is to be expected for such a new game, and players can’t really be blamed for testing out new things when there aren’t any real strategies yet. Whenever I enter a dungeon for the first time I always just follow the leader/more experienced players for a few runs until I get the flow of it. A large portion of us entered this dungeon for the first time under these circumstances. With many different routes and no clearly defined strategies it can take few runs before one realises that perhaps this is not the way this dungeon is supposed to be done. Hell, I thought 4 chest was just a term used to describe one of the routes. since that is all that is being spammed outside the entrance, and that the wall jump was just a jumping puzzle. Only after my 4th run did I realise that something didn’t feel right which led me to check these forums for some sort of clarity on the situation. I think until all the kinks in the dungeon programming gets sorted out a daily limit of tokens should be set to prevent massive abuse to the system.

You know, I have to agree with you, I would not have known this was bad if i had not spoken to a friend earlier that day, my first group did this hopping over the wall. New players coming out to CoF and joining one of these groups maybe just like you not knowing that its not the way its meant to be done.
As you said the game has only been out for a month there will be kinks and bugs and a few things like this within the game.

To be honest the “jumping” part dont seem to be an exploit since you dont gain anything you actually LOOSE one (1) chest with 5 tokens. But hey im not the one that makes the rules, so i have no idea if this is deemed as an exploit, glitch or nothing at all.

No, Magg revives on the other side, and you can then tell him to plant the bomb in complete safety.

I posted about this a few days ago, moving on I went and made a guardian to ‘tank’ I’m not a tank i know, but I can support the group to live longer in that room, this CAN be done normally, people just refuse to do so. I am glad there was/is more then just me that want to do it the right way.
