Guild Wars 2

Neither version works for me after today’s/latest update. I played fine this afternoon (in the EU) after updating, but now that I closed the game it won’t start anymore.

It shows me the launcher, I can log in, press play. Then it goes black screen a few times (flashing) and then the game crashes.

I don’t have heart of thorns, neither do I have sms protect. I’m sorry, but I can’t ever find my phone so yeah, please don’t make that an obligated thing.

edit: got an update today (12-8), it downloaded perfectly, but still black screen of deathed me before the character screen and the game closed down (so it was probably not an update for this problem, but if it was, it doesn’t help). Both on 32 and 64-bit.

Ya that will work wonders and not cause any inter /map chat wars.

I think what he meant was this:
- guild tags: only the guild can see it (whatever colour)
- coloured tags: anyone can see but you can make plural groups this way. Like a ranged and a melee group, or a commander that takes the left of the map and a commander that takes the right of the map. Often it happens one group comes over to help the other out and people get confused on who to follow. If you are listening to one commander on ts, and the group does a whole other thing because somewhere you accidentily switched… that doesn’t help at all. You can join a squad but it’s very helpful to see what the other group is doing by quickly checking the other commander tag on the map.

I understand why people and developpers are against addons, but a coloured commander tag would be the perfect addon to make.

So many female sylvari! Let me give you some examples of males. And I haven’t even done their armor properly yet! Imagine what you could do…

Also, I’m really glad they ain’t elves. Tbh I hate elves; such an overused overplayed race. And they’re always so ‘perfect’. Yuck. Same reason I picked a charr first, then an asure (no humans, no elves) but when I had to pick something more humanoid to make pvp jps easier on myself I could only pick sylvari as non human.

I was quite glad when I started playing around with the customization option… so many choices!

I usually use the ‘devil’ looks, because I like the sarcasm of them being a cute race x). The Piccolo one I just made to see how far I could get doing that. I have shoulders in the bank but am still hoping for a fitting hat :p.

This one made me giggle. The lack of knowledge some people have about us.
IRON is a very, very big guild, with very active players. Not only did we queue A map, we queued all.. Including many PvE maps and Lion’s Arch. All on our own.
If another group wanted to come on a map, they had to pay us.. How on earth did you guys think our commanders could afford all those Superior Flame Rams for the wooden towers all over WvW

In all seriousness, we enjoy killing servers. We plan to kill all servers.
Gunnar’s Hold is in the works and we are already planning our next kill!

Actually, Desolation is doing great now; it’s actually FUN to play there. More and more keep incoming every day, including me.

Has anyone checked to see if it ALWAYS happens, or just when it is contest? From my experience the past couple days, it seems like it is always happening now.

Yes, happens to me always too, no matter if it was contested, gets contested or whether there is anyone on the map.

actually, this is the 10th person this weekend that states that about TW and IRON. Sure it may not have been as bad as potrayed above, but you know what, if 10 different people say the same, there is usually some truth to it. One of the guys who told me moved from NA to EU (despite living in the US) to get away from T1/T2 verbal abuse.

Iron used to be on desolation EU. They were quite elitist idd. Once, I needed to open only one present and fight 5 toys to get my quest done (whatever it was), and so when I found in present in wvwvw I opened it, after following the commander in a way I should spontaniously be married to him, yet when I went to kill those toys for five minutes I immediately got flamed from top to bottom. That including a warning I would be kicked from the guild for speaking up for myself. *
I also was not really allowed to play anything else than a guardian, or I would be flamed. If you read their forum you can see they want total licking from you, or you can beat it.

I stopped playing guildwars at all, as wvwvw was about the one thing I bought this game for. They moved from the server, leaving all the other guilds to bloom. I’m glad I’m back because we have a very pug-friendly server now, with lovely voice chat and lots of people with music bots.
We are not doing t1 well, ofcourse, but I’m enjoying the game a lot, and many with me. I would like to thank the commanders who take their time to lead pug groups.

I learned a lot from Iron’s playstyle… but I learned even more so from their attitude.

Note: This is my experience, and those that enjoy(ed) that guild are ofcourse not wrong to do so.

edit:* that is, just saying I only needed 5 more toys, not flaming or swearing ofcourse. And when I got flamed I stated I had been there for two hours following them every second. That’s what I got the warning for.

Keep the entrances aoed so the warriors melt on running in, or pull the boss to one side so you only have to spam one entrance with aoe and place your people on the other side to stop the warriors.
I’ve never seen this problem before because they simply didn’t get the chance. Also, how did they manage to drop the banners with the amount of lag atm?

The breakout event really is was not a good idea, but implementing it behind the back of www players was probably an even worse idea. I don’t understand how you can discuss about a game for 10 years to get it right and then implement something so gamechanging that I might even call it gamebreaking. All www players could have told you so.

I bought this game mostly because of your www pvp. I liked the balance and the big pvp battles. Constantly fighting the same event and the same pve mob is not part of that. If you wanted to make the game less ‘stale’ with this change then it had the opposite effect.

I hope you consider to give the www guilds some love too.

For the first time I wanted to check what the exchange rate would be if I wanted to buy gems, and there… it’s not working.

Can’t help thinking I jinxed it ><. I do hope you can fix it. I find this game very enjoyable and some ‘long term investments’ (bank space and such) are really worth it. That and the fact that we don’t even pay monthly for your updates and fixes makes me want to support you in another way.

At the first cutscene you should probably see the twin already, but it zooms in at an empty spot. Even after the fight the twin never shows.

If it’s true what you are saying, Even, I should be able to continue after clicking the spot he should have been. I’ll try it right now and let you know of the result.

Update: indeed if you walk to the spot the twin should be it starts the second scene. I also clicked around there a bit, don’t know if that’s needed. Tnx for the info!

About the voice acting… what made me nearly delete my character was that it turned out male sylvari have the exact same voice as allistar in dragon age. And as my character was female in that game I couldn’t stand his nagging.
Sorry voice actor, the sound of thát voice will now forever annoy me x). Like the female monk in diablo 3 has jaheira’s voice (baldur’s gate, naggy druid “that’s enough waking hours, you slave driver” — arrrgh). I never finished with that character haha. I love voice acting in general, so I tend to remember.

I haven’t finished the story lines, but so far they are okay. Depends also which one you start with wether it’s interesting, some or better than others. Don’t know about the past 60 part though.
