Both the Daily and WvW resets are now an hour earlier because the anet servers observe daylight savings time.
WvW reset is now Fridays:
9pm EST
7pm Mtn
6pm PST
Opposite. Daylight savings just ended, it didn’t just start. Anet actually doesn’t observe daylight savings time which is why the reset times HAVE changed to those that DO observe it (for those in Arizona, as an example of a state that doesn’t observe DST and is ALWAYS in MST and never in MDT like say, Colorado, their reset time has never changed).
If they were observing it they would’ve been ‘changing their clocks back’ from 7 PM PDT to now 7 PM PST.
BG was opened on monday, your looking at the current score on a friday night. BG had been closed for months, if you could not get enough people on your servers then stop blaming us we had nothing to do with it. Mag got 2 big guilds last week but for some reason did not show up at all this week.
The point is BG has been winning for months straight in T1. Hence, why does it need any more population at all? It certainly isn’t underpopulated.
This is just yet another error by WvW devs at Anet. Their management or whomever needs to make it mandatory that they actually play the game rather than just theorycraft on “what they think is going on” because that often times isn’t close to reality.

I agree, we need ads in this game! There’s countless hours of ad revenue that is just being kittened away every second of the day.
I’ve my hand on the throbbing vein of the WvW community and I feel it is my responsibility, neigh, my duty to propose that we cycle in the EOTM map for EBG.
Wow…………………………………
I am looking forward to this! Looks like some interesting and good changes.
I gank one and spam /laugh over and over
You should have transferred a couple weeks before the patch…..I did with one of my accounts, and it only cost 500 gems to go pretty much anywhere.
And yea, after the patch, they jacked the transfer costs through the roof again.
Problem is, we were told not to do it by Anet =\
I do not think “medium” is an accurate desciption of empty servers either. Still, are you saying there are NOT more players from host server in WvW now?
Last tier servers had so few players left, even whole server is not worth one single tier 1 guild. That is why I have difficulty believe the linking is main cause of servers going into Full status.
No one is saying there is not a large return of some players but its not enough to push a lot of previous Medium servers to completely Full. Especially prior to the linking, does anyone think some of those T3/T4 servers are really at a GREATER population of BG/JQ/YB etc prior to the linking when those T1 servers were only Very High then?
They are locked or the population caps have been artificially changed for the time being so that the criterias of Full->Very High-> High-> Medium->Low would result in many of the servers going Full.
The linking is what drove a lot of the servers to their current population statuses. If BG was unlinked right now with ET, for example, it would likely result back to its current population status of Very High. Same case for servers like Maguuma, SI, SOS etc. which are right now listed as Full. Unlink them with their lower tier server and they’d revert back to being open for transfer.
(edited by Towelie.9504)
If server is full, for whatever reason, you should not be able to transfer there. There is no real reason guild would want to join Full server anyway as they would simply spend hours sitting in the queue.
I have already argued that high population servers probably had many old players returning to WvW and many new players trying it now with many changes that have nothing to do with server linking. To get them down from Full status players need to start transfer off first (or stop logging into WvW for next month) to make room for new players to join them.
They’re full because the servers are locked, not because of a huge influx of returning players.
The “leaders” of JQ that basically caused a lot of this are normally the people that have an elitist attitude despite not having any real notable skills to speak about in the first place.

That being said…. The skill lag is awful. And well I get irritated when I die cuz skills 6-0 will not activate and hence the tweet spam.
There are three possible explanations for skill-lags. Either your computer/internet is too slow, the connection to the server somewhere in between is too slow or the server is not appropriate/too slow/bad connection. I personally rarely experience skill-lags. I live in an area with good internet connection. An gw2-update loads with 5 MB easily. I dont know your equipment/connection. However, could you check whether that was the problem for the lags?
I’m sure anet has already heard enuf time about the 2 hr queues.
Both (Short queues and many players on the maps) is sadly not possible.
Skill lag on the server is very real, it’s not a client issue. This is experienced from anyone in the area. We’ve had this issue, and have seen it very often, in T1 for quite some time especially in EBG fights between all three server zergs. I can understand some lag but we’re talking about not being able to use anything for MINUTES at a time.
So far so good, but I think even more stab would be helpful. HoT and soforth have added a great deal of CC to the game with no real counter to it.
In my opinion, I would suggest going with the EU way of doing things for the time being and not link T1 servers and some/all of the T2 ones as well. T1 especially as we really don’t need any added population, I would guess there could be a strategy where T8 is linked with some of T2 or T3 instead.
They really should just scrape them for now as right now they’re so stupidly OP it’s effectively breaking the game mode in terms of trying to capture SMC.
Cloaking waters really should just be removed, the mass-zerg invisibility has been tried before and it is a terrible mechanic to have, I don’t know why they thought re-adding it in was a good idea. We can’t just throw down stealth detection traps (Which are a joke btw) over and over especially when a zerg can drop right now a dumb amount of damage within half a second in the current meta.
WvW is alive..
Pro:
Finally normal fights, that means 50vs50 ,not 50 vs 25
Finally there are people in not just at nights
Alpine will come back, Halleluia, so that means the queue time will be better, because we can go on 4 map we like, not on 1.Cons: Massive lag, especially skill lag, if Anet wants zerg fights, 150 people, then please fix that (note that I even lowered my graphics, and I have very good computer, and still, sometimes massive lags, or disconnection).
This, the lag needs to be fixed. Both skill lag and Anet REALLY REALLY needs to optimize their game engine as it is universally regarded as a joke in terms of optimization (it’s pretty but WOW is it CPU hungry. Use our GPUs!!!!)
So many OLD games have optmized their engine with new DirectX engines yet Anet seemed to have statically built theirs ONLY with the intention of using DirectX 9. Direct X11 and 12 provide so much more benefit when it comes to massive amounts of draws (DirectX9 is limited to 6K draws, DirectX 12 is something like 600K draws. Assuming each character is drawn roughly 6 times (more like 10 honestly) those 6K draws get used up REALLY quick and we’re just assuming characters, not even taking into the fact of scenary.)
It would be really nice if Anet went more into developing and solving those core issues like graphics and latency lag. You can have someone with the top of the line specs and they would still be bottlenecked because of the unoptimization there is in GW2.
Come on! Even my old 560Ti in my old desktop supports DirectX11.

Hi, When will servers that went to FULL go back to their previous states? We had been wanting to transfer for a bit and waited when Tyler said to wait, now we can’t transfer at all. We really want to get this done ASAP.
AFAIK it was supposed to reset, so maybe at the end of this “beta?” if this server linking truly makes it.
We don’t want to go to a different server. We have been planning to transfer for a bit and Tyler said not to.
Agree, this and airship and even chilling fog need to go. This mechanic is far far too OP for WvW.
Was it intentional for having 7 servers to go full or was this a bug introduced with the server linking? There was a lot of Medium servers even that went Full which makes not much sense.
We want to transfer but held off because Tyler said not to yet… still want to transfer….
Can we get a time frame? (Days, weeks, months, years, on the table?)

Bump bump bump since Anet has a tendency to ignore anything WvW related.
Rather than giving +100 supply to the OBJECTIVE, such as a keep, tower or SMC, it’s providing now after the recent patch +100 supply to each supply depot within the objective. Keeps this ends up being +400, towers stay at +100 as do camps, for SMC this amounts to +1000.
This is a huge issue as this effectively makes a defender have infinite supply to create defense siege, repair the walls/gates etc since the reuse on this is every 15 minutes.
When is this going to be fixed? Surely this cannot be intentional since this is clearly a game-breaking feature with no real counter.
Heard this was fixed in today’s patch, anyone can confirm?
Bump again, since Dev’s are obviously here but only paying attention to some lame story bugs that impacts 5 people.
Another bump, also experiencing this in my guild too. We have Aura Level 5 unlocked and it’s not working on anything we claim any longer for the past week and a half. No response at all from Anet about this.
Sucks spending so much money into getting this, as its really one of the few things guild halls make sense for for a WvW guild, and its not working.
Many guild are experiencing the guild claiming auras not working since the previous patch about a week and a half ago. Some guilds are not affected but some are (mine included). Is Anet aware of this?
I swear, if this was some NPC who had a spelling mistake in some lame roleplay story dialog they would assign 20 developers to work triple OT to fix it.
Seriously, any response from Anet developers on this? It broke like 2 weeks ago and it’s continued to be broken for a good number of guilds. ANY UPDATE ON THIS?
I was so thinking about outrage too. 10s stunbreak is so nice. the only issue is it doesn’t count as a shout, so there’s no (while very minor) healing and it doesn’t condi cleanse on my group. With so many other stunbreakers and stab that I have, I felt like 10s more was worth it since it’s also not a challenge to get full adrenaline in WvW (I am constantly waiting for cooldowns right now anyhow with a full bar).
That’s a good point about dicipline. That’s the line i give up by adding berserker (which I honestly feel like I’d rather NOT have.. but I wanted to find a way to include it). You get that nice quicker weapon swap too so energy runes become so nice to have on both weapons. The only thing I have a tough time giving up from tactics is the automatic “Shake it Off” since it’ll normally fire next to the rest of my front-line at first initialization, clearing them of any immobs that may have been dropped. That’s a good point though, I will definitely need to play with it between Tactics vs Discipline, they’re both so good, one is more “personal” while the other, I think, has better group benefits.
GOod point though, I think Discipline would be the better way to go over Tactics now that I think about it more. Quicker hammer stuns too (horray!).
(edited by Towelie.9504)
Well that is true, I think we’re looking at it differently at least from where I am from which is T1. In T1 it isn’t regularly a 15v15 gvg or any such a thing, it’s zerg vs zerg. In this situation I think it changes where damage is already well covered by the dozens of eles, necros etc while sustain is not.
This spec doesn’t guarantee poor damage, it’s not like it’s full nomads, but it’s not its main purpose either. The crit chance is poor and the ferocity (though noticeably, I crit more than 4% of the time in practice for whatever reason) but the overall white damage is still relatively good; you’re still breaking above 2400 power which is not a bad number to have for someone who can also soak up a tremendous amount of damage and overall be a major pest to their backline with knock backs, stuns and immobs while also having a very supportive way of condi-clears and shout-heals not to mention banners. Even a slight reduction in efficiency to an enemy’s backline will have a huge difference on the outcome. If the enemy is worry about bombing the head of what is mostly brick walls, my backline is free to hit them hard where it’ll be more effective.
(edited by Towelie.9504)
Here’s a spec I think that may work with the traits introduced in the berzerker line that somewhat improve upon the traditional super tank warrior build.
Obviously the goal of this build is NOT damage but rather sustain and stun-locks/harassing of enemy backline. It’s more geared towards front-line warriors which run as commanders as we all know a pin going down normally will result in a full-wipe.
For your thoughts, a lot of the more well-known commander pins tend to run a similar build.

If anyone has any ideas of modifying it to work with how Anet thought a Berserker would somehow work in WvW, please let me know. To me, sacrificing group support and sustain for what would amount to as sub-par DPS just didn’t seem like a good trade-off.
Trying this out so far in WvW, holy crap the zerker gimps you. I agree, I am far weaker now than I was just as a vanilla warrior plus now I lose a lot of group support traits that I once had.
This elite spec seemed like a very lazy implementation. It’s the worst one in the game, including the tempest.
It’s the least played class in WvW and is more or less just a stun and banner bot and this just further kills the class.

Likely this is only a problem with the client and not your computer. I see you have 16GB of RAM with only 50% of it actually only being utilized at the time of the “OOM” error.
The game client itself is 32bit. Going to 64 bit windows client doesn’t magically fix anything, the application itself will only be capable of using so much RAM 2GB native or 4GB if using large space (gw2 is LAA so it’s 4GB~ max).. If it is trying to use more they need to either change the client to 64bit which can use more or manage their 2-4GB memory better and flush old crap out but this is going to make it more laggy since you could be reloading stuff a lot over and over again in RAM.
I am still surprised the client still is 32-bit only. A lot of games these days offer a 64 bit client now and that would probably help a lot of things out, performance related. I am guessing whatever engine they’re built ontop of it’s probably 32-bit only and would take too much to change.

I am running windows 10 but my commander who is crashing probably three times as much as me runs Windows 7 64 bit. I don’t think it’s a Windows 10 related thing but if it is I would hope it gets fixed. The GW2 vanilla client never crashed for me on Windows 10.
I had this too. Adding the following to my gw2 short cut after the filename helped a lot:
-assetsrv 174.35.71.9:80
Related GW2 article:

lol nice conversation going on.
But to the topic, same thing. I get game crashes very randomly. Going from 0 crashes in GW2 to 3-4 crashing everyday in HoT is kind of annoying. Especially annoying in WvW in a T1 server where you crash and then have to sit in a 20 person queue to get back in only to crash again 15 minutes later. It’s happening to our comm pin a lot so that’s just killing our WvW experience.
This crashing needs to be the #1 priority.
