Guides help a lot for tribulation if you go after those points, but it’s also worth noting it’s much funner if you do the discovering yourself.

Don’t have access to main desktop that GW2 is on right now, but I’ve finished the Tribulation category without using a single guide. I solved every zone by myself, which made it way funner to play than consulting a guide and memorizing trap placements. It’s especially satisfying when you look at a path and think, “Yknow, it looks like Anet wants me to go there. So you know what? Nope.” I managed to avoid so many traps that way that I would later find out I had successfully predicted.

W1Z1: Good introductory zone, teaches most of the mechanics of tribulation.

W1Z2: Easiest level by far. Once you learn to avoid the intersections of branches and the path of least resistance, it’s a breeze.

W1Z3: I can’t be the only one who was stuck after the second full checkpoint. It took me almost an hour of frustrating trial-and-error to realize there was a mushroom behind the log I could jump to the whole time. kitten .

W2Z1: The spawn is absolute hell, but overall it’s easy. A bit too easy compared to the others, I find. Threats are few and far between, and entire sections are untouched (like piranha bend).

W2Z2: Spawn area and the first checkpoint are absolute hell, but it gets easier after that. Very long though, and dat trib cloud.

W2Z3: Interesting how it’s different from the others in that there’s very few spike traps and much more hard jumps. It was weird being forced to use the odd side routes I would notice and explore a bit in normal mode, but never think twice about. Also very long.

Also, it’s a frequent thing to see people complaining about the “luck” and “no skill” of spike traps. Cheap platformerss were the inspiration for trib mode, and if you thought all your deaths would be fair you’re in the wrong difficulty. I actually enjoyed them a lot, especially once you get good at guessing where they are.

W2Z2 is fine, just pay attention to your surroundings and avoid dart traps. Once you learn to look for them, it’s a breeze.

Also, people run the eagle shortcut because he literally skips the entire stage. Would you rather have a 20 minute run or a 5 minute one?

With flowers and geysers going the way of the dodo, they’ve been replaced by brainless jumps and pre-determined flight paths. But because they were patched in, they kind of butchered the feel of W2Z1 because now we have a level comprising of a lot of empty gimmicks. I’m hoping the current flowers/geysers are just placeholders until SAB rolls around again. The zone badly needs something to make it unique again, rather than world 1 V2.

I don’t believe they start every hour. I also can’t believe some of the one’s I’ve tried to get in we’re active for more than 10 minutes since I was watching for the messages.

They do start on the hour, every hour. As long as you get in between X:00 and X:10 you’ll be in an invasion.

The biggest drawback of playing an engy is that weapon skins are useless if you run any build that uses a kit. This has been bugging me ever since launch, and I’m sure I’m alone, so isn’t it time to do something about it? Anet’s been toying around with legendaries, but this leaves out all the other beautiful weapons that us engi’s are deprived of showing off.

Anything would be better than now. Have it holstered on our hips, tucked into the backpack, something so that people see us and go:

“dat gun”

Zone 3 is unforgiving as hell if you haven’t mastered the dodgejump yet. Unless you want those monkeys throwing exploding bombs, I think it’s good for the introductory world.

Hey, it’ about time I find myself a guild, so I’m scouting around with this post.

I do however, have a large pool of games outside GW2, and because everything’s better with friends, it’d be great if your guild has a nice community for other games (mind telling me what they are, too?).

GW2-wise, PvX is what I’m after. I can do pvp, WvW, dungeons everything.

Multiplayer stuff I play a lot (not all-inclusive, though):
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Minecraft
Diablo 3 (only for lulz though, that game is… -vomits-)
Starcraft 2
Planetside 2 (though my fps hovers around 5-10, if I’m lucky)

EDIT: Also, my brother is in the same boat, so he can join too

EDIT 2: My mistake, I forgot to mention I’m in US-based servers. Really sorry to everyone confused by that.

Absolutely love Glixx, Yossa is also great (seems to be missing that asura-y edge though, if you know what I mean) and for Jett, the double t isn’t pronounced enough in my opinion to sound asura.

If I remember correctly, his only REAL ohkitten button is that slow-charge AoE fireball that nearly one shots you. Just save your dodge for that and you can easily mitigate the rest of the damage. That’s how I did it, anyway, as a fairly squishy engineer with no defensive abilities.

if they really want to tell me each char progression is separate, then wtf are dailies/monthlies (among other achievements) account wide? it makes no sense.
OTOH, there’s a lot of stuff that makes no sense (ie karma prices for 1h/2h weapons, ridiculous prices for cultural armor that’s not even exotic, AC/CM gear not lvl80), so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s actually intended.

That’s actually a fairly good point. WvWvW rewards are from Honor Badges, which are account bound. PvP rewards, glory and skins, are account wide. Yet dungeons are somehow soulbound? What’s the difference between grinding a dungeon on multiple characters and grinding WvW on multiple characters?

Ugh, this. 10000x this. Nothing is worse than knowing that if I want to get a set of armor, I have to grind the same character, the same runs, the same enemies. Being able to contribute on multiple characters would be a HUGE plus.

Also, as it stands now, no explorable mode dungeons exist bar the one you want the set from, effectively killing off all but an eighth of the ‘end game’ content.
