I’m having this problem right now. Played yesterday just fine, and I’ve never encountered this problem before, but I am now unable to log in. The error message appears as soon as the client loads.
I’ve also noticed this problem. It’s a NEW issue, something that was introduced in a recent patch.
Still not fixed? Jeez, Anet….

I for one am not waiting any longer on this. There’s been more than enough time for this supposed “high priority” issue to be fixed. Combine the broken zerker with PVE culling and this game is just plain broken.

As you can see in the screen I have 3,600+ power (a lot) 46% Crit chance with Phantasmal Fury it makes it 66%. My sigils of bloodlust are maxed out… And this target was stationary upon spawning of the zerker… So you are going to tell me that phantasmal berserker is going to hit for less than one bounce from mirror blade (2,900 damage in this build).
Cue the Mirror Blade nerf…..
Hmm maybe if we added “mini-pet” or “Gem Store” to the title we could get Anet into this thread…
Yep, culling in large (crowded) PVE events is a major problem and has been since day one. Hard to understand why Anet does not consider this a MAJOR flaw in the game.
Anyone else remember Anet promoting the “end of culling in WvW” and assume a PvE fix was soon to follow??
I’ve also been waiting months on this issue. It’s extremely frustrating to see something so core to the class/build go unresolved for this duration of time. Patch after patch and this Anet-admitted bug continues to go unaddressed.
Guess what Anet? I don’t want to play your new content with my broken character. And I sure don’t want to adorn my broken character with the latest bells and whistles from your Gem Store.
Please fix the bug you introduced and acknowledged months ago, and told us all was “a high-priority” for you.

I think I saw a video of this in this thread, but has anyone else noticed the iZerker dying almost immediately after being summoned, for no discernible reason? This happens to me all the time in TA… whether there’s AoE or not. In the exact same situations, my clones last longer! I can only imagine this is some kind of bug. I have only seen the iZerker do this… it’s almost like he’s hitting himself.
My berserker dies immediately after being summoned all the time since Dec 3. This is why I’ve said I’m done with GW2 if it’s not fixed. TODAY.
Arena-Net said they were looking into it a few months ago. So it should be ready soon enough.

But:
As I just read the comments Jon posted recently in the ranger forum, I assume now that he is aware of what we wrote in our mesmer threads and that he does not need any information anymore.
Furthermore I now think the 14th december patch will:
1. fix the phantasm delay to a point which is as closest to 0 sec delay or at least 0.25 sec
2. fix the berserker missing AND damage problemApart from that the mesmer and his bugs have a long way to go, but that will help a lot to instantly restore mesmers to what they have been before they got massively bugged by the two last patches.
It’d be cool to get a link to the post you mentioned in the other forum.
just wanna say I agree with the OP. I miss the GW1 mez armor. Here’s hoping we get some true Mesmer armor in a future GW2 expansion.

I apologize up front for the pessimism, but Anet seems to have a huge hate-on for the Mez. If you intend to play, my advice is to prepare yourself for the constant nerfs and be willing to change up your builds to keep ahead of the nerf-curve.
lol calm down kid. I don’t see how they are broken as I am in wvw and spvp on my mesmer everyday and I still never lose 1v1’s and I provide great team support. And I have a legendary weapon on mine, so that is to show I have spent loads of time on it. It’s not broken, maybe for someone who smashed buttons and didn’t incorporate skill into a fight it made it more difficult, broken? nah

Let’s review your previous contribution to the thread. Other than going on about yourself (which – props – you DO seem skilled at), I believe you offered this nugget:
“The delay has been there since beta…. There is no additional delay to phantasms.”
Now I’m wondering…. it’s been shown with multiple videos that the delay wasn’t there —still isn’t with the mariner-- and of course a couple threads are filled with comments from people who have noticed the delay, and you HAVEN’T noticed the delay…. well I’m just wondering who’s button mashing, huh? Yo don’t feel too bad. I used to whoop my friends at Street Fighter like that when i was 8.

guys, cut it out with the melodramatics. mesmers need some fixing it, but they are neither broken nor unplayable. I have been playing mesmer since day 1, and while I would like them to fix a few things, I am still having a great deal of success with my character.
and seing the responses of some of the other players, I am NOT the only 1.
claims that the mesmer is now broken and unplayable is over exaggeration. otherwise myself and those other players would not be able to have success

Fair comments. However, this is now day 5 of the class being essentially unplayable, and I’m getting real tired of “stalking” warriors and guardians to get myself safely from point A to point B…
GW2 Designers, can we possibly get an update on this issue? I have to believe you’re going to revert the Dec 3 changes, because as I said, the class is unplayable now.
Still curious as to when this fix is going to take place because at this moment I cannot stand playing this class. It was working fine before with no delay on phantasms. It doesn’t provide an insane advantage to have their attacks go off instantly. If phantasms continue to have a delay you essentially eliminate 1 skill per weapon choice also I would go even further to say at least 1/3 of our dmg output in a fight depending on how many phantasms you have going. I have several builds available on my mesmer (gear wise) and literally all of them are affected by this because it isn’t a broken utility skill or a broken trait. It is a broken skill on a main hand/off hand weapon which cripples any build out there. I mean honestly this is how players get frustrated with games when class crippling bugs persist. I have heard “we are looking into this” and things of that nature but I have also heard things like “delay is intended” and I am losing faith that this issue will be handled properly. We were balanced before the last few updates, when the delay was non existent and the dmg was there. Now the dmg has been greatly reduced since november and this last patch has made it worse with the delay. Phantasm dmg is part of our overall dmg and when we lose that it cripples the class.
The other small beef I have is with confusion’s dmg being reduced in sPvP. Why? It is a condition the same as any other…. you can remove it… dodge roll to avoid skills that can apply it…or not use skills while its applied. If it is too powerful of a condition then why is it not reduced in dmg in WvW? It doesn’t make sense to me. I am a big fan of confusion builds in general but because of the poor dmg it does in structured it essentially rules out a condition build there.
On the whole I know I am not convinced that Mesmers will be restored to normalcy upon when a fix is finally implemented. I know plenty of others have the same concern with some of the comments that have been coming out about these issues.
Anet, I sure hope you’re listening. If you don’t fix this, I’m done. I have no interest in the other classes and I know I’m not the only one. In one fell swoop, you’ve broken an entire class. I suffered through the stream of nerfs leading up to this, but this is it. THIS CLASS IS NO LONGER FUN TO PLAY.
Not sure if you really ever played Mesmer?
As a dedicated Mesmer I know how they work and I know what does what…. While in LA I like change my dye colors and make many clones by the dummy. While doing this I need to use decoy because when I use deceptive evasion, the clone created attacks the wrong dummy and it looks stupid.
I don’t know if you just haven’t been in a situation that you noticed but this is not broken, it is working as intended from the getgo.
Also it has been stated by a dev, but I will re-state it. The delay has been there since beta and I know this because I used to ask myself why it would delay. Maybe the update made it more obvious to you because people posted about it, but the rampage was started by one mad kid and was fed to the angry Mesmers to become a mob. There is no additional delay to phantasms.

I’ve played a mesmer exclusively since the game was released. I wonder how I made it all the way to Dec 3 without my Berserker being ONE-SHOTTED BEFORE HE GETS AN ATTACK OFF – and now it happens REGULARLY. I reported the bug within minutes of logging in after the Dec 3 update – it was that obvious.
I can only assume you’re the one who hasn’t played a mesmer – else you’re not using phantasms, and certainly not a Berserker.
Anet BROKE the mesmer. Period.

I reported the delay bug with Phantasms shortly after logging in the first time after the Dec 3 update. To quote a previous poster:
“are you saying this 2 second pause has been there all along and I didn’t notice in the last 1,200 hours?”
I won’t go as far as to say it’s a 2 second pause, but as for the rest… Amen. Are you telling me I just didn’t notice the delay for the past three months on my exclusive character? I just happened to notice it immediately after the Dec 3 update and then checked the forums to find others reporting the same problem?
Very disappointing to see an undocumented nerf go into a patch update like this.
I can’t overstate how much damage you’ve done to the Mesmer with this nerf – this coming from someone who’s been playing a Mesmer exclusively since 2005. Someone suggested playing a warrior. Sorry, I don’t do warriors. Maybe it’s time to head back to D3.
