So, no response input from A-NET? I’m still getting black screens, it happens about 1-3x every time I play, but its worse in WvW.
Thieves never die, we multiply………

Since you’ve read every forum post and rank-ordered the top 15 requests, could you please post the raw counts for the rank ordering? Statistics is fun.
Sad that the community has to even come up with the most common issues, and rank them too. This is something A-NET should be all over. If they want to sell xpacs to players and gold and gems they need a player base to do so, WvW is viewed by many as the end game. Well, its broken and not working. I pray that A-NET has these issues on a whiteboard somewhere asking “DO NOT ERASE”, but somehow I doubt it.

The more time I spend in WvW the more I see how much of needs to be redone. Its sad really, because prior to launch I viewed WvW as my long-term addicition, lately I’m losing the desire to even queue up.
+ Experience, +Magic Find, + Karma? I guess we’re expected to out loot them? Gain enough Karma to outgear them?
I don’t think its the match-ups, but I think the first few days are competitive, but once someone takes a lead the other servers roll over, quit, don’t queue, chase Wild Moas……..
I agree, when I kill someone I shouldn’t have to kill them again 2x-3×. And when you’re going up against a zerg and manage to kill someone, only to see them get immediately rezzed – its deflating.
(edited by Trimethicon.7405)
Sadly when the matches are this lopsided, the winning server has very little competition. I keep jumping into WvW from Yaks Ben but I find very little going on =/.
I think A-NET is too proud, and protective of their vision, to ever make the needed changes to WvW, even though they are desperately needed.
I would like to see them turn off the aggro on mobs unless hit, strictly the wildlife, not the mobs that can aid you. This would also provide some strategy; lets say I’m running along alone, I encounter a zerg, I decide to run into a herd of Wild Moa’s, the zerg tries to hit me with AOEs and the mobs aggro the zerg.
Per the topic title; I’m curious as to the decision/thoughts, that went into having rabid wildlife in WvW? I would have to assume that getting rid of them would also help reduce lag somewhat.

I don’t lose my internet connection, none of us do, we just get kicked from GW2. So, while I’m not ruling out that it can be an issue on my side, I’m also not ruling out that its GW2 either.

Its so frustrating because we’ll be running along in WvW and in the middle of fighting, and we all get kicked. At that point my son and his friends start looking for something else to do, I have to coax them into getting back online, then it happens again……..

Per the topic title; my black screen issues had subsided, but then they came back, and mostly in WvW. Also, I host LAN GW2 gatherings with my son and his friends, and one of my friends.
My friend says that he does not get the black screen issue at his house, only mine. I’m hard wired directly to my router but everyone else is wireless. I’m using a Netgear WND37AV wireless router. So, I have to suspect that it is on my end. When we get the black screen issue, it is not a hard crash, I can still hear the game audio, and we can ALT+TAB, the only way to remedy the issue is to kill the gw2.exe process.
Well, its Friday night and everyone is coming over again for some WvW and I’m trying to find out if there is anything hardware related on my end that I can do. I’ve been looking into doing a firmware upgrade on my router. But I don’t want to mess with it if I don’t have to.
Thank you very much, I’ll check them out.
Per the topic title, I’m wondering if anyone has seen a pistol skin that makes the pistol look more like a sawed-off shotgun; a much longer barrel then what I have now.
And a dagger skin that makes the blade look long and skinny, sort of like a samurai blade but in dagger form?
I’ve got the rest of my look down, and I’m happy with the armor I’ve found, but I cannot find a suitable P/D skin, and of course not being to “Preview” in the TP is hindering my search.

I almost fell off my chair when I saw this topic; I have the same issue. I actually ran out and bought a new mouse thinking it was my mouse. But yes, I have this happen quite a bit, its like the RIGHT button can’t quite grip the screen/game, and I press harder and still………….
I have attached my DXDIAG. Basically, I’m getting disconnected about 1-3x every time I play. Its not a crash, or a hard lock-up. I can still hear the game audio and I can ALT+TAB out. The only way to remedy the issue is to ALT+TAB out and kill GW2.exe. I also have this issue when I logout and select “Character Screen”, same thing as above. It typically happens more in WvW for some reason.
I’ve looked at the Nvidia recommendation which is stickied here and it does not help.
My Pistol/Dagger Thief in Black Abyss dye.
Thank you for sharing your opinions. Its your time, and your money and you’re entitled to do with them what you please.
Less people then WvW, and more people then sPVP. I would love to see 30vs30, etc.
GW2 is a very, very good game. I love the graphics and the artistic style, the games landscapes and architecture ooze atmosphere. The player models are incredibly well done, combat animations are fluid and add to the game as well.
I’ve spent way too money in the Gem shop, which imo is very well done, and makes it way too easy to spend money =P.
I must say; I think the game is very well done, the world is beautiful and the game has an excellent leveling arc. But I’m getting bored as well. I’m leveling a second character and right now I’m having a hard time chasing heart after heart, DE after DE. I try running a dungeon to break-up the monotony, but they’re painfully unrewarding for the effort and coin spent on repairs. And even crafting is now a chore.
I guess after having played 20 MMOs I need a new MMO. I’m jaded. I really wish I wasn’t. Its not GW2, its me =/.
Even when I’m facing my target, sometimes the ability does not hit. And two wasted C&D means I’m left to scramble while waiting for Initiative to come back.
I made a similar post about C&D, but it got moved to the “Suggestions” forum -
1. When you miss it still uses initiative.
2. Sometimes when you use it, and it actually does hit, you don’t stealth.
3. When you use it you get stuck in place………….
Agree.

Per the topic title, one of the things I find frustrating with Cloak and Dagger is half of the time I miss and lose Initiative, or I do land the blow, and I don’t go stealth. Am I the only one that struggles with C&D?
I don’t like the resource management of the Thief, one or two missed attacks and I’m left scrambling till my Initiative comes back. With my Ranger I can spam abilities all day without regarding to managing resources. I don’t mind having to watch what I do, I just don’t like micro-managing Initiative.
Would it have killed them to have an latency meter in the game?
Well, I guess if enough people complain about it must be true? People used to think the world was flat too.
/em rolls eyes.
Here we go………………Blizzard drove me nuts with their nerf-nerf-buff-nerf-buff-nerf-nerf-nerf approach. People need to learn to adapt, I chose the most underplayed and difficult classes for a reason; to overcome. People need to learn to adapt.
Stop the nerfing A-Net, the game was in beta for a longtime, why was it not addressed before? Now that people complain we have this knee-jerk reaction, build up other classes to counter it instead of nerfing. Nerfing is a slippery slope……….
I agree, and as time goes by more and more guides come out on preferred builds further burying what we already knew to be useless traits and abilities. Most MMOs evolve over time, I’m hoping for the same from A-NET.
Yeah, the whole pet mechanic feels broken or not complete. I agree.
Please don’t add a dungeon finder, searching a group works perfectly fine.
Well, if they implement one – you don’t need to use it.
Sorry the game didn’t work out for you, I personally really like it a lot. But, since you don’t like it why waste your time on these forums? Move on and find a game you do like.
You guys need to allow people to share their opinions, its only thru constructive criticism that things may see improvements, trolling shouldn’t be tolerated, but its okay if people don’t think the game is perfect, chillax, nobody shot your dog or ran over your grandmother. If I’m a developer I would rather people come and share with me the things they don’t like, rather then quietly quit and go away.
I’m not sure why people are flaming the guy, he is entitled to his opinion – saying; “no, you’re wrong and here is why……” is ridiculous. The only thing worse then a Troll is some raging fanboy. His post was well written, constructive and not inflammatory in any way.
I agree with a lot of his points, I’ve played over 20 MMOs (my first MMO was EQ1 back in 1999) and character progression in GW2 feels very flat. I’m a level 61 Ranger using a Longbow and I’ve had the same skills since I’ve equipped the weapon. In other MMOs you start off with a tattered tunic and a rusty sword but grow to become a gleaming engine of destruction, I don’t feel this in GW2, yes, you can get different skins, but its not the same.
None of the dungeons have been memorable imo. The game is beautiful and oozes atmosphere but I’m sleepwalking thru most of the game. I’m sorry but I truly miss the holy trinity of tank/heal/DPS. I do. This one size fits all approach feels too open ended and undefined. Yes, DEs are fun, but after 2-3 runs they get stale.

Oh yes, please.
Ranger downed state is the worst, I know, I play one. I stopped even trying to fight off other players, I give them their kill, the less time I spend pretending I can prevent an inevitable death means its going to take me longer to get back into the fight. Thiefs and Mesmers need to be killed 3×.
The pets in GW2 require a lot more then:
1. Attack
2. Use Special Attack
3. Guard/Stand down
We also need – a type of “Growl” on/off, they should not pull aggro off of a player in a dungeon or group setting.
The Polar Bear also takes a few seconds (3’ish) for Icy Roar, and the animation which stops him in his place, to work, at that point the player is too far away to be affected. I stopped using it.
Pets require too much micro-management, the pro players will tell you that you’re doing it wrong, but IMO they’re practically useless for anything other then solo PVE single-target leveling.
They don’t require any micromanagement at all. If there’s a problem with pets currently, it’s that their animations root them in PvP and their bloody F2 skills don’t respond to micromanagement. I’d LOVE to micromanage my pet. But they pretty fire and forget right now.
They require micro-management when I need to bring two bears into a dungeon, knowing full well one will get vaporized on every fight. They require micro-management when I need to spam F3 to get them to come back to me, because my 2nd pet is about to die, or when I need to constantly use my heal to keep it alive.

I wish the pets were something we could chose to not use. Their overall ineffectiveness and constant micro-management are a burden. I wish they were a Trait we would spec into, similar to GW1.
It’s our profession specific mechanic, so I doubt that will happen.
I understand that, but that sums up my feelings.

I’ve been gaming since the early 90’s, I’ve played over 20 MMOs. The dungeons in GW2 are too hard for such little reward. Everyone I know has basically stopped playing that for that very reason.
Are there any plans to revamp, or take a look at the dungeons?
I’ve found the UI overall to be sluggish and slow, its extremely pronounced with the Ranger pet F2 ability. But I find myself many times spamming a key to get an ability to go off. I love the game, but the UI is very slow.

Per the topic title; I’ve noticed a lot of abilities need to be pressed more then once, especially the F2 key for the Ranger pet abilities. Overall the UI feels slow and sluggish as compared to other MMOs and I’ve played over 20 MMOs and GW2 definitely feels delayed.
Are the any plans at A-Net to take a look at the UI at all? Maybe some enhancements?

I’ve had this happen as well, or when my character is stopped and I try to move, it doesn’t move at all, I have to hit the one of the WASD keys again.

I bought the Digital Deluxe upgrade through the gem store, to get the Elite Skill – Mistfire Wolf (name). The skill was never delivered, and I would like a refund. How do I get a refund on the $20 I spent for something that was never delivered. I have not used the other items, those can be deleted from my inventory.
I would like a refund please.
