I’ve been having a similar issue since the latest LS3 episode, whenever I log in on a char and do something, sometimes even in character select, both my monitors will just freeze and it stays that way until I do a manual reboot. All sound keeps playing though. Tried updating drivers and clearing cache but it doesn’t help.
Pretty annoying on a guardian. I have to get my aegis stripped first before I can attempt to even approach those crystals.
I really really don’t get these posts, “are they worth it?”. If you like the skin or want a weapon that can change stats as often as you’d like, then yes. I have two legendaries and am on my way for a third, it is very much worth it to me because I enjoy the skins. However, if you only look at stats, then the obvious answer is no and you should just make an ascended weapon.
The boxes contain a variety of items to get people interested in things they might normally never explore, such as WvW and sPvP. Are you really complaining about free stuff not being useful enough? Just store it and if you ever feel like playing a certain mode you’ll have a bunch of stuff to start with.
Strange as it may seem, I find champ farming in frostgorge a lot of fun. Might have something to do with the scenery. When I just wanna kick back and relax, I join the zerg train for an hour or so. Very soothing, with lots of banter and jokes. And I get rich too!
This is how all the activities in GW2 should be : “It’s fun, and I get to make money too!”
Then people can do w/e they want and there is no “farming”.
In theory, this is true. However, as long as something is faster (at ALL) in regards to making profit, a certain set of extrinsic-reward-oriented people will clump there and do only that.
Unless you’re farming for a legendary, you can do quite almost anything in this game and over time you will find yourself really not in need of much of anything.
I don’t understand all this talk of “grinding.” There is really no content that you are gated from besides dungeons on your way to 80 and high-end Fractals because of AR.
That’s not true unless the reward is better by a large enough margin, if activity A makes you 1% more money than activity B per hour, sure A might get a bit more attention, but if you want to do activity B atleast you’re only 1% behind….. who cares if people want to do A for that extra 1%?
It’s better than being behind like 50% because I decided to do activity C for fun.
How is having more fun by doing C (which makes you less money, oh no) a bad thing? People couple their gaming happiness to acquiring metal pieces of currency too much if you ask me.
Don’t focus on farming them then, I play wvw a lot and I get so many fragments it’s crazy. It’s so much easier if you get them as byproduct, which was probably anet’s intention in the first place.
I like that they update their original content every now and then, it makes the foundations of the game so much better. Also, I only have time to play in the evening now so having less content being pushed out and more original content being polished is just what I’d like
I won my first survival game because I had 3 rations as drops, I waited until I was low before eating them every time, hid on the other side of the map and before I knew it, I was the only one standing, with around 10 mins left on the clock.
Karma boosts, the Orrian Jewellery boxes. I wish I had known about this before I got my Obsid Shards.
Isn’t the conversion rate a lot poorer than buying them directly?
Finally, one of the last pieces for my legendary will be within reach and I thank Anet for the upcoming changes. If only Balthazar would be uncontested just for once.. sitting on 1,5 mil karma just for obs shards ^^’
I got a similar problem and got this out of the event viewer: The kernel power manager has initiated a shutdown transition. My game just shuts down my PC and I have to hard reboot it every time -.-
I got the same problem, mostly in WvW and Southsun events. I’ve noticed that my cpu usage shoots upwards of 90% then, which is probably causing the crash. I’ve been monitoring my cpu and gpu temperatures and they haven’t been above 60 degrees Celsius, which should be fine, so it isn’t overheating.
Mine spikes to 100% sometimes as well, but my pc shuts down when I reach it. Happens every 15 mins or so nowadays, when in Southsun or WvW. I have been playing without any problems since last August and now this pops up. I thought a 3,3 ghz sixcore would be plenty, at least to keep it stable..
I have yet to grind for my legendary, I get karma from events I do while roaming the world, just hit the 500k mark on karma yesterday. Salvaged over 100 ectos from rares I got while roaming. Got over 200 badges of honor from playing WvW because I am having a blast while doing it. People that call it grinding want to get to their endgoal as fast and boringly as possibly it seems, I can imagine that’s not fun at all, so maybe try to alter the way you want to achieve your goal or try a different goal? I am perfectly content with taking some time to complete my legendary.
More on-topic: I would like to see other things besides legendaries to work on, in the long run, maybe some armor sets or something.
I don’t understand why people complain so much about having to grind, nobody is making you grind, just don’t get a legendary if you don’t feel like gathering the stuff needed. I’m over 50% done with mine now and I’m not even actually actively aiming for it, just having fun, no grind at all. If it’s the only thing on your mind and you’re not having fun doing it then I feel sorry for you.
Also, why do people keep bringing up that the stats are the same as exotics, they don’t understand how GW works I guess, so focused on stats..
I don’t think they should change anything about the drop rate, when they add new areas they will probably add these drops to the loot tables aswell. Also, they shouldn’t be easy to farm and rather be gotten as random drops by people who then put them on the market. I do think that they should maybe scale down the amount of lodestones needed for some recipes, the rarity of the stones isn’t the issue tbh, it’s the amount needed.
It’s just a colour and nametag, stats would still be the same. I don’t see any reason for them to be anything else than exotic since GW2 is about looks.
Give it some time, the game is still new. They’ll add more game modes eventually.
I love defending points but it is so pointless at the moment, unless you only care about the win for your account and not the glory. A system where you would get points for standing on contested points should do the trick yes. Maybe some bonus if you actually kill/scare someone away.
I agree and disagree. It’s true that the zone doesn’t have anything that distinguishes it from the rest of the zones, but when I was trying to get 100% on it (which I couldn’t because of bugged stuff) I found it to be so stunning and thought to myself, this is my favourite area in the entire game (and I’m at 93% completion). I just love the scenery and the map layout.
