Arah path 1 is bugged, the last door will not open thus not awarding any tokens, we killed all bosses also.

I completed the puzzle, but Asura are much harder to see then a Norn, sorry it’s a fact.

Not only can I not see my character 70% of the time, but it seems I get stuck in between the teeth of the gears far more often then other races. Any other Asura out there feel the same way or is it just me?

No.

2. Did you buy them in the past?

Yes.

3. If you would not buy trading post material/gamble, would you support direct to buy weapon skins and what general price do you find acceptable from a business standpoint both as a customer and realizing that they must make money as a business?

No.

4. Do you believe that future events will also be handled with random number generation to make profit based on limited time item acquisition?

Yes.

5. If you believe that the future events will be handled in the same manner, does this realization negatively effect your trust of Arena Net in regard to handling micro transactions for permanent content?

No.

If Anet alters their percentages of “rare” skins to say maybe around a 10% chance, give or take a couple of percentage points, then yes I would consider buying keys in the future. If they intend on keeping the percentage on where it’s at, then no I will not be buying keys to open up Black Lion chests for another holiday event.

The fact that you don’t like the connotation of the word “entitlement” doesn’t mean that it doesn’t apply.

In the end, this is about the issue of players wanting something and being frustrated that they can’t have it.

The fact is, it’s not that simple, people who love to throw around the word “entitlement” only focus on exactly what you do “A player wanting something and being frustrated that they can’t have it”, no it’s that Anet was not transparent about the drop rates before hand. Had they been more specific about the percentage, I would have skipped out on buying keys.

I did have an expectation that at least temporary or more event related items would drop from Black Lion Chests much like the Mad King Chests do, and a thumbs up to Anet for adding that recipe to the mystic forge by the way.

It seems obvious that with the addition of the Mad King chest that Anet doesn’t believe their playerbase feels entitled, but that they were disappointed with the results of the previous chests and possibly not in-line with the customer’s expectations.

Even the more thought out and well articulated threads about a player’s dissatisfaction regarding the drop rates brings on the “Entitlement accusers”, and the word is sorely over used to simplify and ridicule people with a dissenting opinion.

Yep all good, it fooled me, I’m not really even mad, but I find it funny for people who didn’t make the mistake to basically tell others who did, that they have no reason to have thought the patch had been applied and the chests had been updated to possibly award Halloween content.

Just a little tip for the future. If your game doesn’t d/l and install an update prior to ANY event, don’t expect stuff from the event to be available. Common sense really.

If the stuff isn’t available ingame yet then don’t have it advertised on the ingame gem store!.

On you again bud. This is a relatively new game, there will be issues, player beware. But yeah, look around for some halloween decorations if in doubt (and you should always be).

Here’s another money saving tip… when the Christmas event comes along, make sure you see Christmas decorations before doing anything, ah… ‘Christmasy’.

I might be mistaken, but this is the first GW2 event? Not really much experience to go on. And as it has been said before, not everyone was in a city upon log-in.

Hrm I saw the advertisement for awhile stating that the update was to be applied on 10/22, I proceeded to log in, saw the advertisement on the Trading Post that shows a Halloween background that says “Discover the secrets of the Black Lion Chest” and it directly links to Black Lion keys. Like I said, it’s a bit misleading at best.

Lol, I did the exact same thing, except I wasted 10 keys. I saw the advertisement in the TP, commenced to buy keys and open up chests, then realized later after not getting anything halloween related that the content hadn’t been implemented yet…. I won’t make that mistake again, it sucks, somewhat disappointed.

Done all 3 paths, I personally like SE, though the Medium armor isn’t all that great looking.

There is no trading by mail so it is not needed there.

All inter-account trading is done through the account wide bank

All trades are done through the TP

As far as I can tell the one and only reason for being able to mail gold is so you can buy gold from gold sellers. If you remove this option you instantly shut down 100% of gold sellers and lose absolutely nothing in the process?

I trade by mail, I’m glad the feature is there.

Yep, it’s ridiculous receiving 1 dungeon token reward for the first time clearing a different path in a different dungeon on a different day.

Too bad it won’t be fixed soon because it’s not a priority.

Pretty much makes me not want to run dungeons at all. DR not coded right and other things are making dungeons a frustrating experience.

Just did CoE with the experimental teleportation route (Option 2), and the last boss inside a small room, was terrible, we just couldn’t down him, not enough room to navigate his 15 AE attack circles he spawns.

I really like GW2, but the bugs with Dungeon Tokens not being awarded properly (I posted about another issue, I got 1, yes 1 token for a CoE complete 1st run of the day) and the overly tuned paths are really really dissappointing. I do enjoy the difficulty, but on some paths, it’s a real turn off.

Also, I dislike the whole getting all your tokens at the end, I do feel that it just down right stinks to get to the last boss, not be able to down him, and walk away empty handed.

On that alpha experiment boss on all 3 paths, you don’t have to get out of the circles. You can just press dodge and stay inside circles and you will still evade the spikes. Its just a matter of timing your dodges. When you see the red circles theres like a 2 second delay before the spikes, ice, fires or whatever drops down, press dodge on that 1-2 second time window and u get no damage even if the animation shows like the spikes spawned on where your standing.

People should have already learned this while leveling to 80.

You know you can stop all damage from those circles with proper positioning right? This is not a matter of overtuning, this is just a matter of inexperience with the boss mechanics.

What’s the proper positioning? I can dodge 4 times with a signet, but even then he summons at a frequency that is quicker then my energy recharging to allow me to keep dodging.

I’m getting really tired of not getting the proper amount of tokens awarded for a first complete. 3 out of 5 people in my group either received 30, or received 1 token for a first complete on Crucible of Eternity Explorer mode. I happen to be standing near a portal that was spawned by an NPC and got zoned out before I could hit the “accept” button for the complete run, upon loading, I could hit the accept button but it shows only 1 token being awarded.

It’s really frustrating running through a dungeon for the first time, learning, getting your butt kicked, then finally overcoming those challenges with strategy and skill/spell selection combined with team work (I do enjoy the difficulty at times), and then in the end getting rewarded with basically nothing. I’ve submitted more then one ticket on this issue and still have not been awarded the proper amount of tokens from my first ticket.

Please get this issue fixed.

Those things are so freaking annoying, though my guild has done a couple of TA Explore runs that we’re somewhat used to nervously looking around all the time trying to keep them down. I think they need to increase the time between when the blossoms spawn to when they’re able to shoot out their poison cloud, maybe add another second would be nice.

I agree, I think some Dungeons really need to be tuned. Ran a CoF, and got to an event where an Asuran needed to be protected while he planted a bomb, various mobs spawning, thief type high dps mobs, ranged dps mobs, and mobs that charge all spawn while trying to keep this guy alive. We tried kiting them in a circle while speccing traits and spells/skills/traps for slowing to help kiting. Tried to just dps mobs down but they spawn too fast and there are about 12-15 mobs that spawn in total, all within about 15-20 seconds all silver mobs.

We just couldn’t get past it, the only other thing I can think of is maybe try kiting them out of the room, but their aggro range seems to be limited to within the room, or maybe more projectile protection though that would be hard since there are multiple archers spawning and moving in different directions.

The party consisted of a Guardian, Thief, Ranger, and Necro. All guildies except for the 5th slot, and all of us on voice chat, except for the Necro.

Why does one have to be in full exotics in order for their opinion to be validated?

Currently 5-6 exotics equiped, only one crafted.

I’m fine with the restrictions, however after reading this thread, I’m thinking at least there should be some fine tuning, as it seems many of my fellow players aren’t happy with the current system.

Once you’re full exotics, you know your toon won’t gain any more power ever. Which is something I really enjoyed in GW1.

Which means that every goal you’ll aim for afterwards will only be cosmetics. To achieve those goals, we need to figure out a way to reach them. OP just states that current ways to achieve those goals feel like a huge waste of time.

So with that reasoning aquiring gold soley for cosmetics and trying to aquire gold/dungeon tokens is mutually exclusive? Because I’m not soley looking for cosmetic upgrades, the game plays differently and grants a different experience?
I have more then one goal in aquiring other exotics but that somehow makes my experience with DR irrelevant? Interesting, are you full exotics, is every person in this thread including the person I quoted in full exotics? Also I’ll make a rule up to, you can’t give your opinion on DR unless you have a legendary with 2 even stats on it. ^.^ I like this game!

I find that when farming Orr that the DR does not traverse from Map to Map or even from one area to another.

I did an event at a base, north of Arah, somewhat long, a defense event, noticed that after awhile I wasn’t even seeing lootable corpses.

Went to an event that was an escort quest, started getting good loot again, finished that event, teleported to Arah for a defense event. Again to start off, loot was phenomal, then towards the end noticed bodies were not lootable.

It seems in my many experiences in Orr, that the DR is not limited to the map, or even a huge area, it seems even on different events the DR resets, I’ve witnessed bugged events where hordes of mobs just kept coming at the same location, crazy loot dropping from AE tagging everything, started to dry up about 10 minutes. I decided to go do a Temple Event up north and again, lootable corpses were plentiful.

Through normal playing I haven’t noticed DR on loot, I’m actually glad they have it implemented, because that bugged event with endless waves would have been exploited to no end. Maybe it needs some tweaking, but I’m glad the mechanic is there.

This is really stupid because you’re breaking the market. If people like you keep doing this no one can ever make a profit because no one can ever put the same item up on the TP for a higher price. Is it really that difficult to up the price of what your selling a little?

Hell, you don’t even have to do math. If you list something that vendors for 50c and the listing fee says it’s 3c then just ballpark that the 10% fee is 10c. It’s obviously high and that’s fine. so now you’re at 13c in fees (it would actually be 8c) so round that up to 15c. List the item for 65c. Someone will still buy it but now you’ll actually make a profit on it and people that want to list the same item can match your price and also make a profit.

As it stands now, I have to either match your price and lose money or list it at a higher price than yours and never sell it. Listing items at 1c above vendor is lazy, wasteful, and it breaks the economy.

Or you know you could BUY his low priced stuff and relist it at a higher price….just sayin

If you haven’t looked on the TP, the sheer number of people selling and matching his price makes this impossible.

Slow Down in Combat

If you’re in the middle of a battle, taking damage, etc, I understand the slow down, but it happens even when you’re just running past a mob that you happen to agro, and nothing hits you. It’s kind of annoying.

Eh no? I’ve been running happily past mobs, all you’ve got to do is evade their attacks. If you got slowed “something” hit you. If you didn’t notice that, it was either not clear enough or maybe there’s some kind of bug somewhere somehow.

I dont think anyone want to fight when you are alone and 30 invader at your back. In Pve I dont care If I slow down, because there are only mobs. However in WvW…

Yep, so you’ve got to watch out not getting into their range in the first place, or just make sure you’re not alone. It only makes sense to me that if they’re given the opportunity to engage on you, you shouldn’t be able to run off easily.

Eh no, never happned to me, if the mob doesn’t hit me, I don’t get slowed down to normal run speed, I can run past mobs aggro the entire zone and still run full speed plus the 25% signet speed unless something actually damages me.

It’s not that I am having trouble understanding it, but, for me, this ruins the flow of PvP combat. The keyword there is “flow”.

I agree, it does feel like it somewhat inrerrupts the flow of PvP, though it’s not a huge issue for me, I do think PvP and WvW would benefit with this mechanic fully removed.

I completely understand they need to money but would pricing gem at $10 for 100gems make them more money? Probably not but if they lower the price, more people will buy.

Also “things you don’t need”. C’mon bro, all these things are basic to MMO and completely unrestricted in other MMO. That’s like saying the only thing you need is water, food, and shelter and it’s okay to take away other things beacuse you don’t “need” them.

It’s nothing like that. I think you’re missing the point here. NOBODY is forcing you to pay for anything. You can even buy gems with in-game currency, so what are you complaining about? That you can’t control your spending habits?

I’m in the same boat, haven’t spent one single dime yet (Though I do plan to) and I’m coming along just fine. The limited bank space sucks, but that’s why I have an alt with bags.

During the past few patchs I have seen that all my farming areas I have either discovered or been farming for a while have been nerfed. Why would ANET do this? The drop rates were decent and nice so I used it to farm and generate money, the money was average, why nerf it? Did they nerf it? Opinions, statements and comments here.

I haven’t noticed any change in the frequency of gatherable crafting materials being changed?

I do have issue with the crafting recipes that take 8 of small xxxx blue item to craft just one inscription, those things either just don’t drop enough or we’re leveling too fast heh.

I really wonder why the guardian doesn’t have more HP. How is he supposed to “guard” if he dies before the others?

I have ran around leveling from 10-80 with a guardian in my guild, and in the survivability department, she does very well.

While I will not disagree that the 70+ area’s can be very mean (and annoying…omg annoying mobs) – these are meant to be end game zones. Just because a zone is marked “70-75,” for example, does not mean it is meant for leveling. Notice the lack of hearts in Orr (not to say hearts = leveling zone)? If these zones were designed like other games, we would have a somewhat rough time going through them in our leveling blues and greens, but it would be doable and mostly fairly easy. Then in a month or two with gold or orange armor, we would be tearing through mobs like butter – a.k.a no challenge and boring.

Get to 80 – there are plenty of other areas and methods of gaining XP below the 70+ zones – then slowly work your way across the map – stay with groups of people if you feel like you are “squishy.” I think we have to except that some classes are not meant to be solo friendly at low gear levels.

Also, not to say the players in this thread fall into this category…but caster and rogue type classes tend to gear and trait “glass cannon.” Sorry, but if you want to go glass cannon, elementalist and thief were poor choices…even a hearty warrior would have trouble in Orr full glass cannon. This game is not meant to be a walk in the park.

I run around with Signet of Agility, so it effectively gives me 4 concurent chances to dodge out of avoidable damage and those long drawn out hard hitting abilities some mobs have. I use Dagger/Dagger and try and stealth as much as possible (though the limiting of how many times you can go back into stealth in a short period of time is a bit annoying and hard to get used to). I don’t feel as much as a glass cannon, but obviously in medium armor, you mitigate less damage then our Heavy armor wearing friends.

I guess Elementalist has the same problem as Thief then.

Melee Thief is even more worthless, and dungeons feel worse than pre nerf Diablo 3 Inferno Akt 4.

Since i don’t count on a nerf, especially not soon, i already rerolled from my Level 80 Thief to a more durable class (currently 56, and already more health and defence than my 80 Thief), and it just works and feels better.

The game (PvE) was obviously not balanced with squishys in mind, just that classes like the Thief, and probably Elementalist from what i hear too, can’t really go a beefy route, while still doing anything worthwhile.

I guess thats the price for PvP balance, and what i already feared when they said they would focus much on PvP years ago. Some classes just don’t work very well in PvE, or at least only in very specific situations.

If you want to play PvE mostly, i would recommend rerolling on a class that can do everything (open PvE, dungeons and story), since squishies are limited to open, low difficulty PvE right now.

Hrm I don’t seem to have this problem with my Thief, though I do notice when I do get hit, it’s for big chunks of health, if I’m soloing, I usually try and open up in range with a short bow since our dagger/dagger #5 skill allows us to get into stealth at will. My gear is very subpar with only level 80 green daggers, and 4ish pieces of level 80 armor including an amulet I believe.

I don’t know about recommending re-rolling, I think if the Thief appeals to you, play it, judge for yourself, it’s a fun class.

All the up to 80 I have seen one Hood, all mostly mask pieces, though I am currently wearing a head piece now, its not a Hood though. You might want to save that low level Hood until you get some xmute stones.

Well I cannot comment on other kiters, I have only played the Thief class past level 5, but Pistol/Pistol is a single target set up. I can kite single targets very easily with pistols and with a Shortbow, the Agility signet helps a bit also.

What videocard are you using? Can you post your dxdiag as well? If you’re using the same CPU and GPU as Pink Taco you both should get 25-30fps at most and it will probably dip down from large fights.

I’ve noticed the same issue, I changed all my settings to low, yet my FPS did not improve but by maybe 5-8 frames per second. I was thinking that maybe some of the settings don’t take effect until after a restart? Haven’t tried it yet, being that I haven’t done any type of PvP or WvW since then.
