The point of the game is to have “fun”. Though i know how you feel. I guess all of us who have played other MMO’s kinda miss the feeling of being “rewarded” for our time used.

Cant belive i have to explain this…

By fanboy i mean, people who cant stand people who talks bad about the thing they are a “fan” of… And im not trying to cause arguments my boy, you are… So listen here little boy, why dont you take a hike away from this thread? Instead of trying to cause a flame war And this is the “Discussion Section” last time i checked? or is it not? You tell me

Some wow fanboi is angry because MoP didn’t empty GW2 servers and is out to cry? Why is this still not locked?? It serves no other purpose other than create flames, that is OP’s intention from the start. And OP? You DO like to call people fanbois, you done it all over this thread…

First of all, i created this thread before MoP was released, i dont really care about wow anymore, so no im not a fanboy, i have never really been a “huge” fan of any game.
Im not trying to create any flames, though you on the other hand seem to be trying to create one. And no why would i like to call people fanboys? but i can ask you the same question, cant i? Nice comment man, but next time, please read what you wrote before posting. Thanks mate, peace out!

Ugabuga,

You really like to call other people haters, fanboys and god knows what..

Has it ever occured to you, that their opinion may be more accurate than your own? Or are you way too narrowminded for that?

You say in your original post the following things, and i quote:

“But dungeons just isnt that fun.”
“Exploring areas is alright, until youve done done it for a while, then its kinda lame aswell.”
“PvP is cool, but doing the same gamemode over and over again is just boring.”
“There isnt really anything to achieve in this game”
“ArenaNet doesnt seem to give any news or updates, on what they are working on”
“It may be because its F2P, that, thats their excuse. But im telling you guys, this game will soon be losing players, alot of players”

In the end, after this long rant, you ask “what do you guys think?”

Don’t be childish and try to make an argue that you are asking for peoples opinion when 90% of your post is in non-constructive rant.

If i say a person is a dumb moron, has no life, is a pathetic jerk, doesnt have a job, is a completekitten has cancer, has no parents, has no family, has no love etc. and then end with “what do you guys think?” – That equals as much constructive post as your original post.

You don’t like the game, sure, by all means that is fine. But thinking the game will lose alot of players, based on you not liking it is just asking for attention and drama.
There are many parts that could be better with this game yes, but there are parts that are great too – A real shame you didn’t include as much as one, which again proves how naive and narrowminded your post is.

Excuse me mate, but really? What is your problem now? No i dont like to call out people “fanboys” or “haters”…?
Your comment is appreciated, and ill tell you why i only talked about the bad stuff.
I made this thread to point out what i think is negative about the game, why i think its become boring, now dont get me wrong, yes there is ALOT of really cool/good stuff about the game, but i didnt make a thread to talk about the good stuff, so why should i have it written in my post?
And what a really really stupid example you made? Are you telling me that people are equal to games? That a game is worth just as much as a human?
Im telling what i dont like about the game, so MAYBE arenanet, would see and maybe change some stuff, AND i can already see that they did, maybe/maybe not because of my post, but they now made dungeons, so you only get tokens after killing last boss in a dungeon, so you cannot GRIND them! Which is great! a good step foward for the game. (btw that was positive, thats what you want right? )

And why am i being childish? you dont think writing “Maybe you might want to get out of your mom’s basement and go for a walk, ride a bike, ask a girl out. More to life then video games.” is being childish or what?

I wrote my opinion on the game, i gave Arena-Net ideas to fix the game, i hope they listen, so i dont see what your problem is…?

I played 6 years of wow. I looked at it last night. Blzzard has ruined the game IMO. It just looks like a little kid cartoon. “Kung fu panda WoW” I for one could never go back to WoW. If you want to go play WoW, no one is stopping you. Blizzard would love to get your money.

Haha noooo thank you, every since WOTLK came out, wow just hasnt been the same. And yeah Blizzard made Mist of the Pandaria, to sell the game to a younger age for sure!.

Blizzard sure knows how to make money!

no you dont really care how many others feel the same. your post is a covert whine designed to complain about the game and attract others who feel the same so you can feel good about yourself. like all other threads of this nature.

cuz you asked the question “is the game losing its appeal?” objectively answered, no it is not, because half the servers are still full at peak times and there is still huge interest in the game. but you knew this. basically, you just wanted to whine and get attention.

Where do you get your facts from? “because half the servers are still full at peak times and there is still huge interest in the game” Can you please post a link from a legit source that says this please or are you just assuming? Still huge interest? No it isn’t losing it’s appeal? Sorry but your answers are all just your opinion based.

I would bet money the interest has gone done since launch and the login at peak time from launch has gone down as well.

did you see the servers yesterday? 14 full (up from launch). and i get my facts from World Selection screen. hater.

You seem to be the hater here… I told my story about how i felt about the game, asked if anyone else felt the same. Now the only reason you came to my thread, was to hate, and make your little spotlight in my thread… You didnt come here, to tell me why you still think the game is good, you came here to get some attention.

Whats with all the hate? no im not a wow fanboy? i just said what i felt about the game? yes i do other stuff than play GW2. Really, whats your reason for dissin me? That —>i<-- think GW2 is getting a bit boring? is that the thing that really made you mad or what?

Nice post mate. Its true, it seems like no other MMO can beat WoW, some people may think that “their” MMO has beaten WoW, but thats not true at all. I hoped GW2 would, i also really thought it would, by all the trailers, gameplay, and screenshots, i saw before release, i really thought that, THIS IS IT, this will be the end of WoW.
But i guess thats not gonna happen.

Though i hope someone will soon create a modern day MMO, kinda like “The Secret World” Just better/more scary/good graphics. That would be AWESOME!

People will keep bashing WoW and I will promise you most of the people played WoW for more than a year too. WoW was a great game. They hit 13 mil subs which no mmo will ever do again. Even those who left the game still kept accounts active. Yes a lot of people had multiple subs, but hey it is still a sub nevertheless.

Basically the next best mmo will need to do what WoW did. Take things/ideas from others games but make them 100000000 x’s better. What you need is a huge lore/story. For how many copies of Warcraft 1-3 sold, people knew the lore which helped sell WoW. I really think Blizzard should have taken Diablo and made it World of Diablo and make it scary and hellish. Make it like Vanilla WoW but obviously in the Diablo world. How awesome would it be to walk through Tristam like Stormwind? Or even a World of Starcraft where it can have ground and air pvp and 3 factions. There is a lot of lore there too.

But yeah games tried like The Secret World but just seems like they get old fast.

The World of Diablo is a sick idea! you should write it to Blizzard haha! It would be amazing, if they made it scary as hell, and not like the childish Mist of pandaria :oooo

I know the fanbois will get all mad at my post and trust me I have nothing against the game. I do love the fact that if I get the itch again to play I can without paying.

But the game for me I already got bored of. To me the leveling system was fun at first but now it has gotten sooo repetitive it isn’t even fun. I know leveling is always repetitive, but this takes the cake. You go to explore a new zone, do the heart quest, find the teleports and scenic thing, then just farm events. Having to go to new starter zones to help leveling I think is lame. Sure you see new content, fine, but I shouldn’t have to. Oh right I don’t, I can just keep farming the same events non stop.

Crafting is my thing. I know you get xp for it and while exploring I would gather etc. and craft, but I shouldn’t have to rely on crafting also to level. I never had issues with the normal questing systems of WoW, Rift, ToR, LotR, EQ, etc.

Anyways I think the game is losing its appeal to people. Anyone who thinks the population of people logging in hasn’t dropped a lot is blind. The hype is gone and usually after a month of any mmo it does. There hasn’t been a mmo that the subs for example, keep growing each month since WoW. ToR is the only other mmo that has even come close to 2 mil subs at one point. Granted they dropped way off now but now a days mmo’s just haven’t competed with WoW. I don’t know if one ever will. Not even Blizzards new mmo will I think. WoW took stuff from other mmo’s that most never played or heard of but actually made it 1000000 x’s better which is why now everyone tries to mock WoW.

Nice post mate. Its true, it seems like no other MMO can beat WoW, some people may think that “their” MMO has beaten WoW, but thats not true at all. That is true, but this is an MMO, it shouldn’t be like this. Your suppose to put many hours into it? or am i wrong? Sure ive spent alot of hours player it since release, but the game is missing alot of stuff. I know it just got released, but there is so much, that they should have inserted in the game at launch :/

But its not like that for all, infact many people have said so in this very thread. I’ve put many hours into this game and will probably be putting many more. When I run out of stuff I want to do, I’ll move on and be back for all new content.

You say it is missing stuff, but what stuff is it missing that ANet hasn’t said since before launch that is wouldn’t have in the first place. For my money I got every bit the game the ANet promised and am still having a blast playing it. Lack of desire to do content doesn’t equate to lack of content. It might be this game isn’t a serious MMO for you but just something you pick up for a week or two when new content is release (and since no sub this is easy to do) and/or when an expac drops.

arenanet has either lied or twisted their sentence in some videoclips, or they have for me atleast. they said “no grind”, i would almost consider this game more of a grind than WoW.

They said “you would get your own personal space, where people you have helped would visit, maybe honor you with a statue, if youve saved their city” ive seen the personal space, and, cmon, wtf is that?… That has to be the lamest personal area, in any game. They promised alot of stuff, that people was hyped about, what about ALL the activities, until now ive only seen Keg Brawl, which was alright the first 4matches, but you dont even get anything for doing it?… PvP is cool, until youve done the same 3maps over and over again, and the same game mode over and over again.

They really, really made the game sound interresting… but well, its not as much as i thought it would be

if you dont like WvW and structured pvp
and you dont like the dungeons
and you dont like the leveling
and you dont like the exploring
and you dont like the crafting
and you dont like the trading

why did you buy GW2 in the first place??
.

Its not that i dont like those things, or well. Crafting kinda bores me, trading O.o?
Exploring, is cool, leveling nice, but 80 sucks, dungeons suck alot! since the only thing people do is grind 2 bosses, go out and restart it. sPvP is getting boring since there is only 1gamemode, and wvw doesnt really interest me :o

Agreed. It’s like saying, I’ve been eating chocolate cake every day for 2 weeks now, and now I don’t like chocolate cake anymore! Something must be wrong with chocolate cake, and the bakers need to fix it or I won’t eat chocolate cake anymore. Why can’t the bakers make it taste like strawberry cake instead! I want strawberry flavored chocolate cake, now.

Please Fanboys… can you settle down and leave, your “funny” comments out of my thread. We all have our own opinion, i give you right Moiraine, i can always take a break, which i am also planning to do. But i just hope that this MMO wont go down the toilet like most other MMO’s after WoW has.

Fanboy? Oh please. I’m currently playing this, TSW, EvE Online, and Rift occasionally. I just call it as I see it, and it sounds like you played too much and got burnt out, hence the chocolate cake analogy. Like I said before, too much of anything is a bad thing.

No it’s not losing it.And if it does you can always stop playing it for a while then return. It’s B2P and none monthly fee.So even if you get bored from it you won’t lose anything if you make a little break.

Then you clearly havnt tried any of the other MMO’s. or you must have been lvl 1 on the character in the games, running around with “auto attack”.

You must have misread my post, or you’ve never used a macro. With a macro, any game can be trivialized into a 1 or 2 button mash-fest, especially in games like Vanguard that have a built in macro engine.

Basically, why press 1 through 8 when I can press one button that does it for me with optimal rotation built in, get it?

BTW, not sure if you noticed, but the #1 skill usually has 3 or 4 attacks built in that automatically activate, so it is essentially a built in macro.

LOL using macros in WoW you can do your whole rotation with one button.

Don’t feed the troll.

Theres no “Rotations” in PvP in WoW in case you werent aware.

It’s all situational, and in alot of cases most of the abilities on here have way too long CD’s, forcing you to run around in circles auto attacking because you cant do anything else.

Are you serious?… really? its been a while since ive played wow. but as i remember it, there was alot more abilities to choose from, also you could macro weapons, and go into different stances as warrior for example. I must admit PvP in WoW, is alot better. Or well. its really unbalanced, but the gameplay is alot better in my opinion. Not that i dont like GW2’s pvp. It just gets kinda boring with these 3maps and gamemode :o

WoW was different SWTOR was different Aion was different. Dont try and defend GW2 around this subject! Because, no other MMO that ive played, have you had so little to choose from.

Really? Are you talking about MMOs where you have 5 hotbars stacked up with keys bound to shift, ctrl, alt, etc, which all basically do the same thing with slight variations? Yeah that’s innovative.

I huge thing that would keep players playing, is if they gave us some updates, whats to come, showed us some trailers, kept updating their website, so people had something to be excited about.
I feel like there is less and less people on my server. Which in the beginning was filled up. Also i know its only been one month, but that is NO excuse. This game is missing ALOT for a launch. LOL, my favorite thing about the “80 things to do at level 80” is

“Make another character to experience a new race / play style”

LOL

Roughly translated to “Start Over Biznatches!”

I have 8 characters in Everquest so what’s so bad about starting a new character?

That you cannot be boosted in this game.
You just can’t be asked to level a new character to level 80, when it takes so long.

It will go the same way as SWTOR.

Hardly as SWTOR has a monthly fee this game doesn’t. So more players will stick with this game as it advances than pay $15 a month for a fail game like SWTOR. Guild Wars survives because of no monthly fees. Same with this game.

How will it survive, if its boring?
The problem with SWTOR wasnt that you had to pay fee.
Look at WoW for example.
People dont see the monthly fee they pay, they dont care if the game is good.
SWTOR wasnt, or it was, but i lacked updates and fixes.
GW2 is heading the same direction.

I play on Riverside Eu.. I get Overflows a lot and not only in Lions arch and i regulary have more then 100 guildies on. I Do have long ques for wvw and no you don´t know the future. And if you really think this game will go the same way as swtor.. well I will call that nonsense.

It has nothing to do with not agreeing with me. The point is you defend the game, even though you know what your saying isnt true.

Here is a basic fact with all forms of entertainment. Everything comes to an end and nothing lasts forever. Eventually any game gets boring it depends on the person on how long that takes. There are things to do at 80 like world verse world but yes most of the fun was getting to that point and the game being new does not have tons of end game content. So I mean not much else to say with these kinds of posts. Go play something else I guess if your bored until more stuff gets added?

You’re completely right sir. its sad :/

@ Razamis.. sure that must be the reason I´m still transfered to overflow servers and there is still a long que for wvw… and there is over a hundred guildies on every night.

Game is hemorraging players.. my kitten

Please, dont be fanboyish… The only place you are in overflow is in Lions Arch, because its the “main city”. And no… there may be a queue for wvw, but its not long. not as it used to be. So please come back with a valid augument… The game may not be losing alot of players now, but it will happen soon, if game continues like this. It will go the same way as SWTOR.

How would an increased time commitment decrease the feeling of dungeons being a grind?

Omfg, are you a Fanboy undercover or something?. why are u asking all these questions.

Isnt it obvious?

Yeah, I feel it just becomes a longer grind.

How can it become a longer grind if your enjoying it? instead of rushing through the same dam’n thing for hours… As far as i know “Grinding” means that you do the same thing over and over again…? am i wrong?

You think just because I’m spending more time on something, I’m enjoying it?

So what your telling me is, that you dont like GW2? Cos GW2 is a game that takes long to accomplish something

“Outrun a centaur” ……..

Can’t please everyone. The entire list isn’t gold, but consists of quite a bit of things to do.

Thats true. But yeah alot of the things are… well..

Okay, im sorry… Everybody has their own opinion. This is not a “troll” thread.
I wasnt trying to either. But from what ive heard, and what i know, and what ive experienced, Greatsword is the best weapon for the warrior, everybody ive talked to ingame agrees. Sure it also depends on playstyle and if you know how to play your Spec.

This was my opinion, maybe title isnt the best. or well. it isnt. But thats just how i feel about the warrior.

Can you explain in more detail how longer dungeons would fix the issue?

If you made dungeons longer, you wouldnt be able to get to bosses as fast as you can now.

I get what you’re saying as far as grinding. Honestly, I think a large part of the blame here lies with the players. I don’t know if grinding is addictive or what but dungeons are being treated as a huge grind at the moment (which is sad). I don’t know how they can fix this. Maybe a better dungeon finder would help because that way getting a group together wouldn’t be such a huge event and you’d be more likely to just casually hop into a dungeon. (and the token drop is increasing)

Best way to approach the problem of grinding is if the game feels like a grind then stop what you’re doing. That could me step away from the game for a while or just doing something else (I leveled up cooking a bit for variety, myself).

As i wrote before, make dungeons longer, increase tokens, make everybody who joins get a cooldown on the dungeon. Its an really easy fix, but ArenaNet is slacking more than BioWare did with SWTOR..

Do you feel that you need direction in your games? I believe that is an issue for a lot of people. And is why sandbox games in general are not that popular (not saying GW2 is a sandbox, it isn’t, but it doesn’t have directive goals for you to attain that most themepark mmos have).

Yeah i know what you mean. But no thats not what im looking for..
But i mean for example, the game should be as far away from “grinding” as possible, and yet theyve made the exact thing they tried not to make.

Dungeons for example, people find groups and keeps doing the same bosses over and over and over. its boring, it ruins the game.

Instead they could have increased the difficulty of the dungeon and made them a whole lot longer, and increased the tokens you get.

Am i the only one, beginning to get a bit bored with GW2?

First of all. No i didnt rush to lvl 80. I came lvl 80 this thursday.

Now that im 80, i just really dont know what to do.
Sure i could “grind” dungeons for tokens to buy gear. But dungeons just isnt that fun.
Exploring areas is alright, until youve done done it for a while, then its kinda lame aswell.
PvP is cool, but doing the same gamemode over and over again is just boring.
There isnt really anything to achieve in this game, if you know what i mean.

ArenaNet doesnt seem to give any news or updates, on what they are working on.
Sure they say once in a while what they have “fixed” but nothing else.
It may be because its F2P, that, thats their excuse. But im telling you guys, this game will soon be losing players, alot of players, if ArenaNet doesnt soon give us some “News”.

Please GW2 Fanboys, dont get all mad. It can be that its only me, and that maybe MMO’s are just losing my interest, or i dunno.

What do you guys think?

EDIT:
Heres a list of some ideas ive come up with. Please comment and feel free to add your own.

So, I take it that blaming other people for not knowing how to play the Warrior class is a better way of behaving, when not agreeing? Right. So this is a matter of pot calling kettle black. Good one, sir.

What I do IRL is really non of your business, and I really don’t see how it in any way relates to what I said. You’re kind of reaching out there, to come up with a consolidated and valid response. Too bad that you’re too proud of your own “intellect” to actually see what kind of babble you’re letting out, let alone the fact you could not even come up with anything better, than comparing GW2 with real life.

I’ll rest my case with you, and I hope others will to. You’re not really worth the time. Your inability to have a casual and constructive debate about the warrior class should be enough testimony to that statement, or does my life in my mom’s basement disallow me to make such assumption?

“You’re not really worth the time. " Yet you still comment on my post, lol.
“my life in my mom’s basement " dude please… please just stop… get off my thread please. Thank you!

No, you guys are clearly missing the point of this post from UgaBuga.

This part: “haha arenanet fixes curse words… but yeah your a “kittenwarrior” and no im not 12. But i cba discussin this with you, if your really sticked to your hammer. I just hope you soon will figure out how to play a warrior :/.”, is the main reason why this thread was created in the first place: To bash everyone else, and tell them they’re unable to play the warrior class efficiently.
This is NOT about the viability of the warrior class or its ability to hold its own, this is about UgaBuga having the need to let everyone know, that he’s a better warrior and has more general “know-how” than the rest.

Refrain from answering to this weak attempt of a troll. Sure the Warrior’s flaws and what not can be discussed, but not with a person like this.

And there are people like you, the dwarf, that blames everybody who disagree’s with your way of thinking for being a troll. I cant belive that you dont have anything better in your life to do, than going to different kind of threads, taking the time to read the thread, and then calling them trolls… This is what i want you to do.
Get off your computer, go outside, party, meet people, get some friends, (no “online” friends doesnt count). Enjoy your life! Please, read this, think about it, and stop calling people “troll” its the most stupid term ever.

Greatsword is so easy to avoid though… Whilst Axes are not, they may do less damage… but honestly, who cares if they do less damage, AXES HIT.

Yeah sure, if you dont know how to play yes… But if you do know how to play, then the greatsword is not so easy to avoid.

It doesn’t matter if the Warrior knows how to play. It matters whether or not their opponent knows how to play.

You can dodge or interrupt to get out of Hundred Blades. It’s easy to see it coming, and if you really want to test this, run CM and fight the second boss. Yea, it’s really not that difficult.

How are you gonna avoid, if your stunned or rooted?

What Attilian said.

Also, there are stun breakers, Stability, and condition removal for Immobilize. ._.

I’ve discredited his whole statement now that he’s revealed he’s not a team player and doesn’t understand that games like this are not balanced around 1v1 encounters.

Haha, yeah right smartass… Your clearly a pro player, if you follow your team around the pvp maps all the time. i bet your most likely on the winning team haha

MY CLASS IS BORING, I SPECCED FOR ALL SIGNETS AND NO BODY STANDS STILL FOR ME SO I CAN KILL THEM WITH MY GREAT SWORD, PLZ FIX CLASS PLZ.

I am rolling a warrior, almost already have a full set of exotic gear for him, i’m going Shouts+Axes/Shouts+Rifle, Why? because its different and nobody knows how to counter an AXE Warrior because 6 out of 10 of the animations look EXACTLY the same, whereas the GREATSWORD all have different and slow animations.

Not to mention 1h Axe and 1h Swords animations and abilities move so fast.

Greatsword is so easy to avoid though… Whilst Axes are not, they may do less damage… but honestly, who cares if they do less damage, AXES HIT.

How are you gonna avoid, if your stunned or rooted?

And how are you gonna hit if you’re stunned or Rooted? You may have some charges on Greatsword, but I keep Bulls Charge, Stomp, and I have my 1hSword Leap, my Rifle Slow. and if I’m hammer, I have more CC than you can shake a stick at. GL while my Team focuses you down while you’re on the ground from my hammer

OHHH so thats how you play… Yeah well, if you have your team to back you up 24/7 then yeah sure hammer is cool, cos it stuns all the time… So clearly your just santas little helper, stunning the peeps, while the homies, do all the insane damage? but what if they are not there to help you. Im tellin ya GS/Shield. Only thing that works in pvp

Its like sPvP and WvW is a team game or something?

It is? omg…

Lol it all depends on playstyle, sure if you wanna be a kittenwarrior who just runs in uses his stuns and then gets the hell away from that area. or if you wanna be the warrior that actually deals damage. The warrior that can defend a point alone.

So because I like Controlling and Supporting on my warrior, its a kittenwarrior? what are you, 12? Everything has its place. I personally find GS Clunky and boring….Its no wonder you find the class boring. The only thing you’re willing to call viable is the most boring weapon in the class.

haha arenanet fixes curse words… but yeah your a “kittenwarrior” and no im not 12. But i cba discussin this with you, if your really sticked to your hammer. I just hope you soon will figure out how to play a warrior :/.
