Claimed a Guild Hall with 4 players.
Mesmer, Guardian, Elementalist and Necromancer.
Thanks to those 4 for the help and paid them 25g each.
I would like to help you, but, I myself, do not have Heart of Thorns.
The Wiki specifies that everyone in the Guild Hall claiming needs to have HoT so I have not tried to have a member with HoT initiate the quest. Thus, I have resorted to solicitation for help.
I am considering paying out 100 gold to any team that can successfully claim a guild hall for my guild.
Bear in mind I am not paying out 100 gold to each player…
So if it takes 3 players, the team leader will get 34 gold and other 2 will get 33 gold.
I have hear of a team of 2 and teams of 3 claiming a guild hall so I think a 100g team payout would be fair for their time.
Real Money Traders need Whisper ;p
There is also Party Chat which carries less commitment to a guild.
I do not believe that free players even need access to Whipsering.
Free players that are Realm Money Traders NEED whispering and 30 second delay is meaningless with their bots. They can load up multiple accounts now and circumvent this 30 second restriction, increasing their spam to all legitimate players in the game.
Should new players require communication, they can simply join a guild with their friends and have unrestricted communication.
Forcing new players to join guilds to communicate also works in to the whole premise of going FTP. Building Communities.
Weaponsmithing seemed like a good choice at first, but they pretty much use the same materials. I feel like it could get tedious leveling both, but I do like the legendaries you can make with them.
Any suggestions to what I should pick?
I do not envy you with crafting so late in the game’s development and the mess of the resource economy.
That said, the most logical course is Armor Crafting and Weaponsmithing.
However, if you plan on using a Guardian you can opt to put Weaponsmithing on the guardian and go for huntsman on the warrior. Huntsman will make your spearguns, rifles and bows for the warrior.
You may say, “I work with similar materials with Armor and Huntsman.” This is true but Huntsman works with wood and leather, where Armor works with cloth. They both work with metal.
These 2 disciplines also create a synergy at 450 crafting making the warrior the one stop crafter to do ALL of your daily ascended refinement as you have access to all 4 materials, cloth, wood, leather and metal.
I hope this solves your dilemma.
NOTE:
Your guild member is incorrect about jewelcrafting. Sure at the end game you can buy ascended jewelry with Laurels and Guild Commendations. But what are all your characters going to use until you get to 80 and get all the Laurels and Commendations that you need? Jewelcrafting is not expensive. It also gives your character experience like any other craft and it is quite fast to blow through.
When they get around to increasing jewelcrafting to 500, I will suspect they will add recipes to alter rings you get at random from Fractals to other rings or maybe even breaking down rings into Pristine Fractal Relics.
If such a thing did happen, jewelcrafting would become expensive like any other craft. Don’t let people discourage you from doing things you are interested in because they say it is not cool to experience.
Jewelcrafting is required for crafting title and awards achievement points, so again your guild member’s opinion is incorrect.

Blue Mystic Forge Stones remain as they currently do.
Add:
Green Mystic Forge Stone
This item acts as a place holder for random recipes of armors, weapons, runes, sigils and dyes. It grants a 30% increased chance of promotion in rarity increasing this chance to 50%.
Green Mystic Forge stones drop from Daily, Quests, Map Completion, Lockboxes and 500 AP achievement chests. Blue Mystic Forge Stones can be upgraded to Green using Blue, Green and Yellow Essence of Luck in the mystic forge.
Yellow Mystic Forge Stone
This items does what a Green Mystic Forge Stone does except it yields a guaranteed chance of a promotion in rarity.
Yellow Mystic Forge stones drop from Monthly, Quests, Map Completion, Lockboxes and 1,000 AP achievement chests. Green Mystic Forge Stones can be upgraded to Yellow using Yellow, Orange and Purple Essence of Luck in the mystic forge.
Orange Mystic Forge Stone
This item does what the Yellow Mystic Forge Stone does except it yields a higher chance at yielding a precusor.
Orange Mystic Forge Stone drop from Living Story events, 5,000 AP achievement chests, and purchases with a high amount of Laurels.
Purple Mystic Forge Stone
This item does what the Orange Mystic Forge Stone does except it yields a greater chance at yielding both a precusor and ascended gear.
Purple Mystic Forge Stone drops from 10,000 AP achievement chests, the culmination of Living Story Events (if all requirements are met), and special events determined by ArenaNet.

This is a like to the GW Official Wiki for info on what Nine Rings was.
Why would people Rage Quit? Like in GW, the Events happens every year and with the Event, the boardwalk is open and Nine Rings is made available again.
Yes, Nine Rings was a money sink and in GW2 it would be good for the Gem Economy because those people that don’t have the gold to spare could spend 5 bucks on Gems, sell them for gold and stand on the Ring after buying tickets.
It is not that hard to get a couple of gold anyhow and tickets would most likely cost 10c each which would be about the same cost of the GW tickets.

Yes, it should be handled like Orichalcum nodes. Resets at 12am UTC but carries an 8 hour cool down timer…
Meaning that if you use the chest at 10pm UTC the chest resets at 12am UTC but you cannot use it until 6am UTC.
But if you used it at 4pm UTC you can immediately use it again at 12am UTC at reset.
Listing Fee is necessary for Trade Post because it curves the undercutter/relisters, but this suggestion is fine because it enforces the listing fee if you prematurely remove the listed item.
What I mean by the undercutter/relisters as an example…
Berserker Pearl Carver listed at 5g15s50c
next person put it up for 5g15s49c
now the seller prior removes his and relists it at 5g15s48c
now the relister suffers a 20% total tax.. if he gets undercut again and then relists again he will suffer a 25% tax… This is a necessary mechanic.
Anyone that does not understand, listing fee is an insurance for items to maintain their value because the listing fee helps prevent undercutters from driving the item’s value into the dirt.
I don’t think the thief needs a nerf… instead change the Stealth Trap to a permanent 1 hour location siege device.
Yet the device can be destroyed.
As it is the stealth trap is quite useless.
Revive the Guild Wars time honored mini game to GW2. With it, the Lucky title track.
Give Lucky Title track 20 Tiers. For each tier achieved, your account get +X% Magic Find.
I’d suggest that if you make the tiers take forever to achieve, give each tier 10% MF… This way no one achieves 200% in a the first year… 50% maybe…
I know Colin Johanson has acknowledged the shortcomings in MF’s gear-based nature and has expressed a desire to look at and possibly rework it.
This would be a great way to fix it so that MF is available to all without harming the group you join. It is also not just given away, people have to be dedicated to Nine Rings to build the MF and then it is limited by special events like Dragon Bash and Winter’s Day… maybe even Anniversary Event.
Create a Mystic Forge Recipe to accept any combination of 4 Ascended or Infused rings. Make the recipe return 5-10 Pristine Relics.
Or TWO recipes that take take 4 Ascended Rings for 5 Pristine Relics or 4 Infused Rings and get 10 Pristine Relics.
Thank you, but I prefer an official response over speculation.
I have not seen a time where it is ending… will it vanish at 12am UTC with the patch or will it hold true to most ArenaNet events and end at 12am PDT?
You get badges for taking objectives if you do damage to the Supervisor/Lord.
As for the puzzle, it was added for the griefers. There had to be place in the game to fill the need of the PKer. GW2 has a place for every play style. Badges at the end of the puzzle is the reward for the survivor and a lure for the victim.
To the person posting… You do not need torches to traverse the dark room. You can also do it completely by stealth.
Mad King backpack give off the same illumination as torches. This light is applied while in or out of mystic fountain stealth. You can make it to the top of the puzzle from the 5 minute stealth acquired by the fountain at the bottom of the well.
Often, I will take the stealth on my mesmer, get to the top of the puzzle, use Illusionary wave to knock the people at the top off and then jump down with portal to bring my allies to the top. It takes very little effort to make it to the top of the puzzle in 5 minutes.
As for those that QQ about PvP in a PvP/PvE zone… That is why people kill you in the jump puzzle. You allow them to be better than you by allowing them to have power over you.
sigh
The Jp’s should not be “territory” to fight over…
I believe they were meant as an alternate source of badges for people that don’t like PvP as much
all camping does is make people mad
but then when they come onto the forums they just get laughed at and called a “PvE Noob”
its sick
and I am really tired of it
and its the reason I am not purchasing ANYTHING from Anet until something is done about thisand for all of you campers do something for me
make a lvl 1 alt
and try to do a JP being camped by some enemies
then try to get a group without asking your guild for help…
then maybe you will feel our pain
Wow. This statement is out of pure ignorance…
Look at the jump puzzle… it was designed purely for griefers… It was designed for people to camp bottlenecks and high ground…. It was designed for people to fight and defend over TRAPS…
This puzzle was not designed and alternate “care bear” way of getting badges. If you want 20 badges, earn them. Stop QQing about people performing PvP in a zone for PvP….
And no one cares if you are not spending anymore money, you spent enough, and others will continue to spend money… No change is necessary, the system is great the way it is.

piont is about camping
Since when is camping wrong or illegal?
And when does enemy camping really stop you?
USE the mystic fountains and stealth past them. It really is a non-issue. But if you are after revenge… get a group, all use mystic fountain and ambush them. This is not about camping it is about QQing.
(siege in JP is not unheard of either, ACs work!)
Siege was recently blocked from deployment in EB Jump Puzzle.
The is no point QQing about people that attack others in the Jump Puzzle. This is the only place in the game that adds the PK element to GW2. GW2 has a place for everyone. There are sPvP zones for people that want a more pure PvP flavor. There is the PvE zones for people that do not like conflict. There is WvW for people that like to mix PvP with PvE. And then there is the Jump Puzzles in WvW that give the PK joy.
You enter the WvW with the consent and knowledge that you may be attacked and killed. And when you do, stop crying about it because if you don’t like it, stop going to these places.
The rewards of these chests are WvW rewards. Why should anyone allow you to get the rewards and free Siege that will ultimately be used to kill the people defending and their Towers, Keeps and Castles?
I have never seen any person that I let pass me to get the chest drop their siege rewards as a sign that they are truly passive.
Just because you have unrealistic morals should not mean everyone should also feel the same as you. The jump puzzle is also one of the only places in WvW that you can get solo fighting.
There are also Mystic Fountains that give 5 minute of Stealth. I can do the jump puzzle in 5 minutes… I can get from the first fountain to the next fountain before the “Indiana Jones” Section to reset my 5 minutes then traverse the well, next area and YES through the dark room with STEALTH from the fountain and to the top of the arena. Run to the last fountain to re-apply stealth and head to the top of the puzzle unseen. So I found the original post amusing that he could not get to the chest reward. Obviously, he does not know you can stealth through the entire puzzle via “Mystic Fountain.”
And as you dash to the chest, at the top, USE your 2 evades through any AoE hit the chest and run… very simple… There really is no need to cry about anything going on because no one can really stop you if you know what you are doing and use the fountains.
I play a Mesmer exclusively in WvW, I complain to people that I play with about my lack of speed. They tell me he is getting away! and I say, I have no speed, I cannot catch them.
While I beat down anyone that stays an fights, it is hard to chase people if they decide to run. I feel this is balanced due to the Mesmer’s power. If the Mesmer could kill any one and be faster than everyone, then they truly would be over powered.
We do not need a speed boost.
I reported every person that used the exploit to communicate with me when it was available for abuse. At the end of each report I added how speaking to the enemy breaks their promise of anonymity in WvW.
This was a great fix when they removed the exploit.
I would get spammed constantly because I killed so many people. I focused more on solo fighting in EB Puzzle and when people were not verbally abusing me they were begging me to let them pass. It gets tiring and forced me to have to play with my online status as offline. But then the people that I wanted to message me, could not.
While I sympathize with those that want a way to talk to the enemy, it just cannot be because there is the risk of abuse. Use the forums.
Blame it on people that bot, hack, and have no self control for losing features that can be good thing yet spoiled due to abuse.
There is no reason to remove the down state… Simply improve your tactics to complete the kill or quit playing WvW/sPvP.
There are many skills and traits that work with reviving and restoring downed players. Down State is facet of life in all form of GW2. It is a mechanic that would hurt the game if removed.
GW2 has never neglected to promote group play… One of their campaign slogans was about building communities.
Dungeons are more for ELITE play and greater rewards. Aside from Dungeons and Fractals, there is a lot of content that can be done solo. As for Endurance, Look in your traits, look at Sigils and Runes. There are resources to improving your VIGOR. Or applying the Boon Vigor to your character.
Or on the buff itself…
You have MF on armor, jewelry and/or weapons. Well if you have gone this far you would not neglect using Food, banner or any other booster or guild buffs.
On the buff it would report +10% MF but also say in captioned text, “Your current MF total: XXX%”
While I may agree on some level, by making it account bound, there will be fewer and fewer people doing the 1-9 levels making it more difficult for newer players to get a group going.
I feel this request is unnecessary since the rewards are already account bound. Anyone starting Fractals wills soon discover to start the levels with their best character and continue on… Any time they need rewards for ALTs… Continue on Fractals 10+ with their best character. Any rewards gained can be reaped by any character on their account.
Add a more permanent referral system to GW2…
Give all retail accounts 1 referral (collector/deluxe 2-3 referrals) which basically gives someone a BWE like access, similar to The Lost Shores event.
Referrals expire after 2-3 months then new referrals are granted to accounts.
However, if a referral is upgraded to a retail account, the account granting the invitation is awarded 100 gems and a new referral.
So basically, anyone can invite people to play every 2-3 months but those that get players to upgrade to standard accounts will have their referral replaced and can continue to invite more players.
This would be similar to the referral system given by NCSoft through City of Heroes except they awarded $15 to the initiator (in the form of game time) and 500 paragon points (similar to gems) to the invitee.
With this system, everyone wins. Especially since 100 gems cannot buy anything, but will be a motivating factor to get more invitations to upgrade to standard accounts or spend cash to bring their gem total to 300 to begin buying things in the gem store.

Never going to happen. Devs also said “NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.”
Learn to use swiftness.
Culling is a bad solution period.
Majority of the people that play WvW are serious about their gaming and have the tech to run an uncensored game. Those that don’t should really be left to suffer. They won’t be able to do all of WvW, but they can still do small stuff like guard camps and escort supply. It only costs $30 bucks to get a reliable video card that can handle the work load of GW2. And eventually when people want to do more, they just upgrade their tech.
GW2 is a beautiful game and it is worth the extra coin on upgrading one’s system to enjoy it. Culling really is unnecessary.
Nothing really needs to change except, culling, stealth balancing, and more educated/inspired realm defenders…
As for your comment on badges… I get about 100-200 a day from solo killing or doing the highest burst damage in a zerg. To get badges you have to do majority of the damage. And I get them in almost every kill.
As for it being boring for you, perhaps WvW is not for you? I find it fun as it is.
In a sense the penalty for logging out in WvW is already in place. No real effect on low pop servers but in servers where WvW matters, that person has to re-enter the queue before they can logout on next combat.
Personally, I don’t care… I make 100-200 badges a day despite people logging out.

I love the idea of a voting system and commander ranks.
There should also be a Treasury…
Allow players to donate into the treasury and commanders given the power to pay for upgrades directly from the treasury.
Sadly, have yet to fix the error 42.
What is even more sad is that they are continuing to use other media for announcements rather than their official forums where communication should be made first.
Alternatively, ArenaNet Accepts paypal.
You can link a verified credit card/debit card to your paypal account. When a purchase exceeds your balance, the paypal system draws from your credit card. This is a beautiful system that they have to mask your CC# but gives you a secure transaction.
You may also draft the funds from your bank account and pay directly from your Paypal Balance.
Finally, you can purchase a GreenDOT and add the purchase cost to the GreenDOT then log into your Paypal and go through the steps to move the funds from the GreenDOT to your Paypal then purchase the game from your paypal.
Or do as Gale said, go to the store and buy a retail copy of the game, and register a new account or contact support and have the retail code applied to your existing account.
From what I have read here, it does sound like the funds you used to purchase the game was merely in a Auth Hold state. Fortunately, it is Friday so the banks will be available to you to remove the hold and make the funds available for alternative means to purchase the game.

The ambient yelling, screaming and laughing in Divinity’s Reach is too much.
The Busted Flagon Crier is on a short loop.
The woman that will kill for Bean Cake loops in like 5 minutes.
The Two Children playing Tag at the artificer station loops every 60 seconds.
However…
I have recently discovered that all of the crafts have tables deeper in the shops in Divinity’s Reach that are out of range of the vocal town loops. But you are still subject to the NPC’s greeting of players.
I think, while you are inside a building such as the bank or trade post or crafting shops, the outside world should be muted, including the pointless ambient yelling screaming and laughing in Divinity’s Reach.
On a side note, realistically, what do the people really have to laugh and cheer about? Centaurs are invading their lands causing a lot stress and strife. Zhaitan’s Minions are on Divinity’s Reach’s doorstep being present in Kessex’s Hills. And at some point, actually make it to the Queen’s Throne room. The introduction talks how the human race is beaten and driven back. The only haven left is Divinity’s Reach. And that is seriously being threatened. This is not a formula for merriment.
