What do you mean?
This topic was super helpful and gave us all a rich and healthy subject to debate on. Thank you for creating this absolutely wonderful thread which I’m sure all of us will take to heart for the rest of our lives.
Maybe at some point in the future it’ll be in the store as a standalone item for 700 gems. However if you take a look right now most glider skins on sale are also bundled with a backpack skin, not individual, but then again for those bundles it’s only 700 gems for the backpack+glider.
Yep the prices of silk have dropped (unfortunately for me, I forgot to sell my stockpiles of silk :p).
lol what.
Please research before you make a topic. An engine isn’t simply a dropbox where you select “Cry Engine” or “Unreal Engine” lol. I mean you could maybe persuade Anet to spend the next 5 years or so completely remaking the game in UE4 but my suspicions is that they will deny your request. Not sure why, I just get the feeling they wouldn’t go ahead with that.
I have both and used them both equally. It really is all down to personal preference none of them are “more fun to use”, or in other words they equally as fun. Right now I’m using the lunatic guard outfit which I do really like.
The lich is ridiculously easy if you have a decent amount of players (10+). Just everyone stack round the corner behind the rock and AoE all the skeletons down. It’s really that simple.
Here’s the corner I’m talking about:

You’re complaining because of a good customer service? I don’t see many other people having issues with running the game. It’s obviously an issue with your computer. They offered you a full refund so why the hell are you complaining?
He will also get another character slot if he chooses to upgrade to HoT.
No, veteran character slot offer no longer. Had to pre-purchase to get and buy core game before January 23.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/pre-purchase-community-address/
For all players who registered the core Guild Wars 2® game prior to January 23, 2015 and who upgrade their account by prepurchasing and registering any Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns edition before Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns‘ launch, we will add one additional character slot to your Guild Wars 2 account.
Oh ok my bad then
He will get the out fit but he also got access to the game for 2 months before it went F2P. He will also get another character slot if he chooses to upgrade to HoT.

This idea makes about as much sense as if humans were all nice to each other then there would be no wars. It’ll never happen
Sorry but elite specs should never be “Stronger”. That would unbalance the game and force everyone to play the elite spec. All it offers is a different class play style, if you don’t like it then don’t play it.
Sorry but RNG is RNG. You can play the gambling game and try and get that 0.xxx% chance drop or you can outright buy the item and pay the price which may be wildly cheaper or more expensive than trying to win it through RNG.
I could pay 50k on lottery tickets and hope that I win enough money to buy a BMW or I could instead not spend 50k and just buy the BMW with that 50k. It’s simple.
Oh and don’t complain about drop rates, if an item is rare that is good. It means that those who do have it have something special that other people don’t have. It’s a precious item. Enjoy it.
It doesn’t make sense to remove levelling items though. Have both options open, if a player wants to explore to level then they can. If longer-term players want to use items to insta hit level 80 then there’s no problems there either. Everybody’s happy
I mean why not. Makes as much sense.
Sarcasm? It makes no sense at all.
Your computer might be overheating. You might not see any signs of problems or anything, your PC will just shut off. Guild Wars 2 is very heavy on the CPU (not so much GPU) and most computers will automatically turn off if the CPU overheats. Mine automatically shut off twice today while playing GW2. I cleared out the CPU fan of all the dust and it’s not done it since. Overheating would also explain why it only happens when playing while GW2.
Hope this helps

Constantly getting DC and cannot change map

I’m sure they are working on a solution. Right now there’s not much we as players can do (yeah a lot of us are suffering from this problem, I’m currently stuck in a fractal I can’t get out of).
Same issue, except from I can enter the game but not log-in.
Yep, last hr or so struggling to log in and if I can I’ll be unable to change maps.
What do you mean “they got nerfed in half”? You mean they only require 250 points now? Ah so you’re annoyed that you spent all your hero points on the elite spec then the cost was reduced so you decided to create a topic to complain about it? The thing is a lot of people really wanted to play the spec however they did not have the hours or the effort/will to go explore every hero point to earn the spec so this reduction to 250 hero points is completely justified and has no negative effects or down sides. No one is harmed, people are happy and get to play/try their new specs. Please show me where the negativity in that change is.
So you guys can create threads demanding change to content that isn’t even needed to be change, but I can’t request that they don’t do the same to everything else?
Right. And I’m not happy. I know a bunch of other people in my guild were upset by this change.
What happens when Elite Specs come out next time? Do they keep it the same so we all have our Elite Specs hour 1? Or will they increase the HP needed that time, making this happen again.
The vocal minority always get to speak for the rest of us. Many of us wanted things to be unchanged.
We are not required to be silent about changes that we don’t like as well. Just as you guys complain about it 24/7 on the forums
Yeah but why are you complaining? It makes no sense. The only reason you are complaining is because people don’t have to spend as long earning part of their class. And that makes you sad because you spent all those hours so you could say to other players you already have it and rub it in their faces. If this isn’t the reason then what is the reason?

Sorry but paying £30 or $ or w/e for hundreds of hours of gameplay is not overpriced. If you don’t want to pay then don’t pay. Not our problem. You are paying to pay the game. If you really don’t want to pay for it then wait a few years until the next expansion is released then you won’t have to pay…or pay $50 to access it…
We don’t need bonuses for buying the game we spend hundreds/thousands of hours in, especially “free skins”. If everyone is given a skin then it’s completely devalued and is not special anymore since everyone has it.
If you like the game buy it. If you don’t then don’t buy it. Simple as that, end of story.
This is fantastic news. 400 points seems so distant and for some people it’s unreachable, especially if they just want to try it out. Great decision to lower the requirement and I can’t see any harm or down sides at all.
I haven’t read everything in this topic yet but I’m going to share my opinion on legendaries. They should be expensive they should be very bloody expensive. They should be extremely hard and long to get. That is what makes them legendary. Legendaries should have the wow factor. If I see someone with a legendary weapon I want to be amazed, I want to know that the player has spent a tonne of effort earning that weapon. No one should even be 1% of the journey to getting a legendary 5 days in. Are they really “legendary” if they can be produced without legendary amounts of effort?
I bought 2000 gems for £15 from G2A. Its a bit of a grey market though, some people don’t like using resellers.
Hi there,
I was just wondering where the merchants are after gaining this mastery and what they sell?
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Supply_Line_Management
Thanks
This is a stupid idea and is an economic and progress disaster waiting to happen if this ever did happen.
There’s a reason things are soulbound.
Only if optional. Not everyone wants it.
I agree. If I want to 100% on another character it’s much easier to do so when I can see which parts of the map I haven’t discovered yet.
So is leveling.
Levelling can be done almost anywhere. If you don’t like one option for grinding, you can go do another instead.
Mastery points require you to grind specific piece of content to get the point. Then go grind somewhere else.
Then there are the pay to win elements. Masteries are a mechanical benefit to your character. Some mastery points require living story achievements. So if you don’t have the living story, you have a choice:
– Miss out on the mechanical benefits
– Buy the living story in the gem store.I agree that masteries would be a more fun system if they weren’t region locked, but I can’t honestly think of a way to do that that doesn’t also make old content obsolete as new content and masteries are added. Like, let’s say we go forward in time to another expansion, and you could do all the materies with XP from anywhere. Now you can completely skip all the magumma jungle progression by getting XP in the new expansion, meaning magumma becomes a ghost town people only go to to click hero points or farm special mats.
They tried that approach when they made southsun, and as a result southsun in usually completely unpopulated, and thus not very interesting to run around. It becomes obsolete, wasted content just like low level zones in more traditional MMOs, and it gets even more wasted the more content is added to the game. That’s a problem, as it makes the early game extremely unfun for new players, and you see a lot of mmos getting around this system by giving people instant high level characters, effectively making that already barren content even more barren, basically giving in to the problem rather than attempting to fix it.
Masteries being region locked ensure there’s always some sort of legit reward for playing all the parts of the game, no matter when you start playing it. I’d love a different solution but I honestly can’t think of one.
I see what you are saying however I do not think in ANY paid game there should be a mechanic that physically stops you from progressing because you haven’t grinded out something yet. It sucks. Grinding sucks. I would be fine with it if the masteries were not required to actually complete the zones but the fact that I cannot get a hero point or vista because I haven’t grinded out XP annoys me. I am the player that likes to 100% a zone before moving onto the next, I like to get every single waypoint, POI, Vista and hero point as I see them. Now MY way of playing the game is no longer viable because of some stupid XP wall. The point of the masteries was instead of raising the level cap and preventing people from loosing other progression such as gear and legendaries but now by placing a stupidly simple feature such as jumping behind a grind wall ruins the fun. That’s my opinion and I am annoyed by this decision, they could have had masteries that made it easier to maneuver around that map but by making it impossible to actually reach an objective because of an XP wall is just plain stupid.
Simple question here,
How exactly am I supposed to gain the XP required to unlock the mastery when I (along with most people I guess) have already got 100% map completion? I tried some fractals level 25-30 and was barely getting anything noticeable. There must be some more efficient way of gaining mastery xp for central Tyria, or is this really going to become a massive grind-fest – which is extremely disappointing if so.
Hi everyone,
I was thinking about purchasing Guild Wars 1 Trio for the Hall of Monuments achivements and goodies. To be honest I’m not really interested in playing the game a lot in this point in time because I’m so into GW2 right now (especially since HoT is not even days away).
I was wondering if anyone else has bought the game purely for the hall of monument goodies and how long it took you to get them?
Thanks
Another question, do you think the price of these Trick or Treat bags increase or decrease when Halloween hits?
Hi everyone,
Iv’e been farming Trick or Treat bags on the run up to Halloween but I never even questioned is there a point to it.
Will new loot be added to the Trick or Treat bags for Halloween 2015 or have I just stockpiled 1.25k Trick or Treat bags for no reason?
Thanks
Hi there,
Sorry if this question has already answered (which it probably has been :p) but I just purchased LWS2 with Gems, will I have permanent access to LWS2 or will I loose access to it in the future, like how S1 isn’t accessible?
Thanks
I just started playing 4 days ago and am only level 65, crafting isn’t really an option since I only have 60 gold
Thanks for the replies, I’ll attempt to do it on Lornar’s pass, never been there before so it’ll be good fun exploring that while I do the achi
Hi there,
I attempted to do the “Lifetime Survivor” achievement today but got DC’d at 391k XP so I lost all progress. I’m just wondering what the largest map is in GW2 for the most to explore (=more xp from exploring and less from grinding = more fun).
Which map has the most Hearts, POIs, Vistas, Hero points, etc?
Thanks

“Help the Vanguard stall the ogre”
18th August 2015 and there still seems to be no Ogres in sight. The only ones are further away for the other heart that requires to kill ogers however there are none in range for this oger quest. The only way to complete it is through scrap metal/weapon racks.

Sorry for raising this topic from the dead but this minor problem is annoying and time consuming but would be really easy to fix.
Thanks
