if you can get a nice position to rain death down on the point without getting noticed you WILL melt everything.and the most hilarious times are when the enemy try to revive eachother and all end up going down too!

its other classes having everything far too easy.I agree with this. Compare ele with say decap engi. Ele is incredibly hard to play in order to be good. Engi you can just run around spamming bombs/grenades and be good.
GC staff ele have the highest burst in the game. I literally saw a guardian get melted in about 3 seconds yesterday. Of course the flipside is that same ele died if someone looked at him.
If he’s got bombs and nades, that engi is not decap. Not trying to derail, just tired of every engi build with a knockback being called decap.

Maybe it was done to put a harsher consequence on exploding it in the water field. Either way, its a little early to start panicking and declaring HT as a new heal signet. Love a fellow engine

I feel like the only bunker the community will accept at this point is a bunker guard. Never mind that they can also decap and have better condi removal and stability, and require 2+ to kill. The amount of rage at bunker engis who use knock backs is extreme at this point, and I expect after the patch, automated response will get the same treatment that kit refinement got, flamethrower and overcharged shot will have cast time and clear animation, and it will just be a better choice to bunker as a guard if that’s the role you want. Would these changes be fair? Maybe, it will put some ability to counter it for non double stability warriors and thieves. But I don’t think its as bad as these 7 pages have made it sound, especially with its obvious weaknesses.
I like med kit, but I don’t like using a utility for condi removal, so I’m left with healing turret with overcharge and pickup. I think that removing 2 conditions without having to run over the vial would be fair, or at least more competitive with HT.
So you make a team, climb the leaderboards and make top 100. Are you suggesting that, at that point, you can never all play together? Lol.

If you were the only one worrying about capping side points while everyone else zerged and failed at mid, then fine, you were being helpful and you won despite your team.
The point people are trying to make in their responses is that your score in a match does not really mean anything, in regards to how well you played your part. Using it as a basis for your performance, whether good or bad, makes no sense when you consider how points are gained and what it takes to win. You may have done your best to capture and recapture side points, and ended up with the top score that game. Good for you, but it was just a coincidence. Does the guardian sitting at mid the entire game with a score of 50 mean he contributed less to the win than you? Not really, because the only points he would have gotten were from kills in team fights at mid.
In competitive game play, you have to expect a certain degree of trash talk and frustration, especially when you can’t see the human being behind the computer, but I’ve definitely seen it taken too far. Calling someone bad during a match is one thing, continuing to whisper them about it after it’s done is another. When in doubt, just report and ignore, Anet will handle it if they feel it’s needed.
There are several good engi players that stream spvp and wvw regularly, I would look at their builds and game play to help find combos and how to fulfill your role.
In spvp, most engineers I see lately are running condition builds with grenades and another kit, something like this:

You can do p/p instead of p/s, move traits around a little, and use different kits if you want.

I’ve played a similar build in spvp, it can be fun sniping people from the background, especially if you can get the f1 to pierce several people at once. I still think longbow is the better ranged weapon though.
OP, your post is beyond ridiculous. If you want to make your own build, be a special snowflake, and exclude yourself from the community, by all means do so, but don’t pretend that you have thought of anything unique or that other people are worse for using a build someone else came up with. A lot of players enjoy making, sharing, and discussing builds, and have fun helping people get better at their class. They are not wrong for doing so.
BTW, anyone who knows the class would be able to determine your general build by playing with/against you, especially if you put effort into synergy and didn’t pick traits/utilities that made no sense together.
I can’t get behind this idea, stacking 3+ of the same professions is a symptom of poor balance, not a cause. Bringing professions more in line with one another and promoting build diversity (fixing crap traits) will fix this issue. Like it was mentioned above, tpvp groups run different builds of the same professions. Why should they be unable to do so?

You seem to have a lot of issues with eles, and this is your misguided solution. Do you feel that it should be a bannable offense to run 3 thieves, or 3 guardians, or 3 anything else besides eles? Wouldn’t a better solution be to bring eles down, and make more builds viable so people don’t feel like they gain any particular edge running 3 of any build?
I’ve always liked the idea of engineers wielding maces and hammers since playing TL2. The gear hammer would look great, and I’ve been wanting to use the pvp wrench mace on my engineer forever. It would be nice to have a melee option outside of tool kit, even though devs have said that they want us to mostly be in mid range.
Yes, I agree the rank grind is a little insane, getting max rank shouldn’t take years of playing daily, even if it is just cosmetic and doesn’t really matter. Not to mention that there is nothing to do with all that glory between ranks except craft dyes.

I’ve never played a tournament where I felt that we were at a disadvantage if we weren’t running an engi and the other team was. It’s a strong build, but it’s not overpowered, especially compared to some other professions.
No, your rank has no effect on the chests you purchase with tournament tickets. It will always be a tournament reward chest regardless of your current rank.
I just wish you could sell the unidentified dyes, rather than having to hope for a rare. But right now, it’s the only thing to do after you have the armor sets you want.

I’m trying to figure out what you are saying. Do you mean that you start stomping someone and they gain stealth as you finish, so the stomp fails? Then yes, that’s how it’s always been and it is intended, just as every other way to prevent stomps and res is intended.
That doesn’t sound like much fun. Banning an entire trait line can effect many different builds in certain professions. Might as well ban the professions themselves, because that’s what this idea would do.

You can dodge in any direction, so even if you’re sitting at the edge of the point there’s still places for you to dodge.
Right, that’s why I said you have to dodge properly. If you are bunkering, you won’t always be standing at the edge of the node, so it’s a little more involved compared to pressing a utility button.
What are your arguments for why it should prevent capping? It’s an evade, not invulnerability, and there are multiple weapon skills across several professions that cause evade. Are you suggesting using those should prevent capping as well?

Well, maybe your build is effective and maybe it’s not. Maybe you could be even more effective with a build that’s been tested and played by a lot of people, and has been improved by trial and feedback.
Well for engi, the devs have made it clear they want to break 100nades (if they can actually manage it this patch). Who cares, it can be super cheesy fun but there are plenty of other more effective builds, and we may have even more options with the supposed buff to turrets. Just wait for the patch notes before you freak out.
About the OP; Bunkers will disappear if there were new game modes; other than holding a point.
As simple as that. you’ll still have bunkers in those “hold your point game type”. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion. But do you see a bunker being viable, in let’s say, 5v5 battle in a relatively small map?. Nobody will attack the bunker first, and the bunker surely won’t do enough damage to be a threat.
This is assuming an arena-style map without objectives, and I can see bunkers being viable on something like a true CTF map. But it doesn’t matter because Anet wants conquest to be the primary mode that matters. Anything new will still likely still be conquest with different secondary objectives.

If rewards are to be redone, it will not be in the form of more powerful stats. The best rewards should be cosmetic (truly unique gear/titles) and come from winning tournaments, not from grinding rank in hotjoin.
I agree that it needs to be improved, right now there is nothing to work towards other than having fun and winning matches/grinding rank for different copies of pve armor.
The only time I don’t like fast cast is when I am trying to hit someone on a higher level, because sometimes it fails. I’ve mostly used fast cast since I started playing engi, and personally I prefer it because its one less button to spam click when using grenades. With practice, at least on even ground or throwing below, accuracy shouldn’t be an issue.

If you scroll up and look at RaynStargze’s first post you’ll notice he’s complaining about HGH not being triggered by super elixir or med kit “elixirs” – skills that are not actually labeled as “elixir” skills.
So either he has no clue what he’s talking about (which is possible) or he’s just trolling (more than likely).

Speaking of EG, acid bomb says its an elixir as well, so I see your point. At least the antidote and stim from medkit dont say elixir, but these clearly do.
Interesting idea, it’s silly that only ele’s get a lightning field when it would fit so well with engi. Tbh, I think gadgets in general could use some improvement, in my mind there is no reason to take a gadget over a kit, and it’s disappointing because some of them are pretty fun.
I don’t think it’s any worse than what other classes can do, and it has all the weaknesses associated with being a glasscannon with barely any condi removal.

In PvE HgH might be viable.
In PvP however i can assure you that just because you dont KNOW of any better builds and are not able to come up with decent builds on your own it doesnt mean that there ARENT any better builds out there.
