Three reasons why this won’t happen:
A: It’s an incredibly unbalanced move action you can use passively to gain an unfair boost over everyone who has it making it a must have or lose item in places like WvW.
B: No racials have combo finishers or creators in any way and are often inferior to class based spells mostly being flavour stuff for fun And i doubt an item would be any different
C: There are several skills on the engineer like this, I believe there is a similar one for thieves as well where you dodge backwards and fire instead. – Check out a new class instead of begging for new items.
I think there are a couple of blade related traits applying to both sword and dagger. that said, what i would like would be an offhand sword trait.
Yeah i forgot to add scythes on the list though i don’t really count them out of 3 reasons:
1 dervishes don’t exist in GW2 so there isn’t a “scythe class” to tie it in with. Remember Dervishes were human “avatar” characters. It would be..Like the death knight of WoW really, this super powerful replacement class that 50% of the players are going to play.
2 Scythes already exist in the form of staff skins
3 it’s a farmers tool.On topic: Well the axe can have plenty of uses: A more “two handed” way to bleed the opponent for the bored sword/something warrior. A more mobile “whirling” kind of weapon for the ranger. Some evil sweep based spells for a Necromancer..The options are many.
My thoughts on what classes should have the weapon: Warrior (for obvious reasons) Ranger and Guardian, And Necromancer.
I don’t think Dervishes are the “Death Knight of GW”
To be honest we have Norn that take on the Form of their “Gods” and humans now take on aspects of the Gods.
Dervish is more of an ideal than anything else. it is like Monks in real life they choose to live their life’s by set code.
With the ability to play all races Dervish is still a possible avenue, it would just create a sub sect of that race.
Similar to a Charr ( driven by war and the fight ) to join the Durmond Piroy. There are many signature characters that go against the base believe of the charr, it doesn’t make them any less charr. Just as there is nothing saying a Charr or a Asuaran can’t say hey I think the humans may be on to something and follow and believe in the 6 gods.
Just saying the Dervish Profession is still a viable profession for future xpacs
Well i see your point but spirits are already in the game in terms of racials, same with the human god related skills, My problem is that dervishes were only human in the past and i don’t really see them make a comeback, Also There is a couple of things saying charr can’t become dervishes in lore. They killed their gods thinking those who worship them are weak. Food for thought ^^

Well you did say 25% charr, What am i supposed to think except a human character with cat parts? Kinda dug a well there buddy. Not hating, Just saying my honest opinion when i think something is stupid, I call it critisism.

First weapon there is called warrior 2 handed hammer.
Second: Up next it’s thief! It’s called the Unload/repeater dual guns specc. it’s tons of fun and is basically popping invisible and repeater whenever your out of points to use unload..You are basically a standstill machinegun.
third – that’s also something alot of classes can do, It’s called speccing damage over the 20% faster weapon attack/spell traits on any class..But no one does that do they?
4th – A mix of all these combat styles..So you want to mix a heavy hitting control warrior with an offhand basically being an anything thief. – Just pick one..I can only speak for necromancers / warriors / rangers and thieves as i have yet to really level up another class but i have to say, I have had alot of fun by mixing them up cause if you know what your doing. a weapon change can mean your entire toolbar and traits change and even your entire playstyle in some cases.

Agreed, I’d really love a designated area…You know there’s in lore a huge arena used for 1vs1 fights and desputes. It’s called the bane within the black citadel..It’s not used for anything – Hey developers Waves hands

On topic: Not a bad idea but..Aren’t your characters wearing armor for a reason? Just saying when -do- you need to take it off..Except for running around with pink underwear through lion’s arch.

Thank you kitten in a keyboard. Honestly on this issue i think they should go “WoW” with it and implement an in game gold based barber instead for fiddly things like hairstyles and make up..Then again that’s just me.
Requested plenty of times and at the moment the only confirmed weapon that they want to add to the game, The problem lies in creating and animating all those different axe animations and drawing the elaborate skins takes a LONG time..Especially considering how much variety of weapon skin types there already exist in the game.
Other weapons i’ve seen requested:
Whips
Crossbows
On land spear/Javelin
Fists (Anet have really no excuse for that one, They already got animations and it requires no skins – Doesn’t need to be useful mind you, Just fun if it was there)
Agreed, There are some really fun moments in the story that i am saddened i can’t visit again simply because i completed them.
Off topic: I posted something similar about an arena close to lornar’s pass/snowden drifts in Gendarran fields that once completed refuses to let you fight there. Kind of a bummer

Off topic: One thing though (I don’t mind personally as i have one), why would you have a sniper “Playstyle” on thief when there are 2 sniper rifles in the entire game, One is order of whispers the others a precursor/a legendary.
Already been said once before but: Rifle + warrior = Sniper buddy, We got the longest range attack in the game with 1500 range (over the usual 1200) and kill shot can frankly..With for great justice and signet of rage insta kill on a crit on any creature between 1 and 60. It’s a good thought but it’s already been done on another class.

Please have this done, Have the items be linked to their original bag if possible or something so the offhand item doesn’t accidentally end up being sold because your you wanted to go hammer/greatsword on your warrior/guardian or longbow/greatsword on your ranger list goes on
Human charr hybrid? That sounds lorewise like an all out scale war between the races and mad Asuran scientists on the scale of inquest ending the alliance between the current races and leaving them to be devoured by dragons, Next idea.

Heya! First of all i was really happy to see that there is finally Appearance changes and to my suprise even gender changing tonics (the full appearance changing one) What made me perk my brow though was the fact that there is no name change attached to that maybe something you’d implement soon?
OT: Then again..Would be kinda funny to see human females named “Roy” and “Herbert” running about.

Hi there, I have played around the game for a while now and some of the things i love about the game is the pit fight arenas, But once your quest is done you cannot visit some of them and do the challenge for the fun of it. Could this please be changed? I would really like to fight in the group pit with a friend or two like for an example in Snowblind peaks, It is one of those where you cannot enter the rings after you are done.
Honestly am i the only one feeling this way? Dying over and over cause people are afking hitting the mob once then just staying away not to mention making the mobs overall harder. Skill points unobtainable while 4-5 guys stand around doing absolutely nothing. The more i play with different classes and the longer i play it feels like i am punished for being alone when there is no one else around.
People exploit pure and simple because it’s easy and as long as it is avaiable they will do it. To the pure annoyance of other players.
We have dungeons and WvW for socializing and co-operation not to mention group events..Is it wrong to ask for skill points – hearts and some regular events to remain single player focused?
Would also love to see this, Get this ingame as quick as possible developers ^^

Think your right there. I just think it’s sad that a Charr can’t hold a charrzooka properly xD also another option would be to turn the model to make the barrel face up instead, And as for the clipping issues with holding it out i am not sure how to fix that.
I haven’t really gotten it on any other character ingame but feedback on how it looks for the other races would be great too!
Well i agree with you, But i am not talking about scaling down the entire model. Keep it as wide as you like just shorten the barrel to avoid clipping issues for the sake of the design?
Look, I really really love the Charrzooka design. I find the entire gun to be awesome looking. My only problem is that it is so freakishly long. Whenever the character stands still with it in his back or even Holds it idly it falls through the ground, It is kinda sad as the tip of the gun has a really great look. Perhaps shorten the barrel of the model a bit? Make it around the same size as the Charrzooka skill perhaps?
