How do you think I’ve placed the countless other sigils in my weapons before?

I will post a video of the issue (that I made today). Please watch it so you have a better understanding of the issues I am having.

I just purchased a hammer from the AC vendor after getting the tokens for it. This happened today. I tried putting in a superior sigil of force (like I have in the rest of my gear mind you), and it won’t allow me. I have re logged a total of 5 times and it still won’t work. Keep in mind these are full log outs, not going back to the character screen.

I use these sigils in my axes, greatswords, and rifkitten th now and in the past. I don’t know why it won’t allow me to use it, but I am 100% certain it’s a bug.

Please help.

I bought 8 sigils of force while they were cheap (50s is a good price).
Lost seven and only got to use one

If you have a stack of sigils in your inventory, and you press H to go to character pane, when you click on the stack to apply to a weapon, they all disappear.
Just lost 3g 50s because of this.
This is simple stuff….why is this even a thing?

I’ve been running CoF for the past 2 months easily every day. I have a full set on two characters and another waiting for my thief once it hits 80. I have over 600 even after all those purchases.

I would consider myself well versed in all of the paths of CoF (even story, done it 5+ times).

Today after doing path 2 for the first time since last reset, I only got 45 flame legion charr carvings and a reduced amount of money of 18s 50c.
I even got reduced experience. Why is this? On the path 1 run JUST before the path 2 run I got the same amount of money, experience, and carvings as usual.

What gives?

Haven’t been able to do any of the events because they are all bugged.
(At least on the Sea of Sorrows server).

Is the the event patch or some fixes?

Because the content was scheduled for tomorrow.

Is there any way to get there without going through Blazeridge Steppes or Frostgorge Sound? I need the peaches from one of the hearts, but I can’t get them without getting to the zone. I’m level 65 so Frostgorge is no option, and I haven’t done any of Ascalon, so I need another, faster way.

I’m level 70 and I’ve been using the druid elite skill. I’m kind of unsure about it, I think the turret seeds are also good.
The druid’s CD is just really long.

Whenever I play with large groups in WvWvW I get a constant annoying ringing in my left ear cup. Why is this?

I made an elementalist as my starting character. I like it, though to get much damage output you need to be able to click though all the different elements and self combo.

I hated Thieves in Pvp, so I made one to test out why I hated them- they are very easy to play, and kill things quickly. If you like high damage, pick a thief.

I tried a Guardian up to a few levels. It seems pretty good, a lot more powerful than an elementalist! Though it is a mostly melee type class, so you have to like that kind of play.

How do you like to play? That is what people need to know to guide you on class choice.

I really enjoy melee. It’s sad that this game appears to favor ranged over melee a bit more than other games. I like having okay sustained with very nice burst (no roundup).
I like ranged also, just not as much as melee. When I play ranged I prefer to play a magical class.

I started with a guardian, realized in this game that ranged is much better. Ranged as a Guardian is pathetic, and the support is meh until you get very good gear. Can’t do melee as well as other classes.
Figure I will play a Ranger. Now why do that? Figured they would be the king of ranged.
NOPE. Warriors outdamage you, and are immensely harder to kill. Have great support. Best melee in the game.
Don’t see a reason to play a ranger. Most of my pets only use *one*of their skills, and I can’t even keybind them all so I can use them when I need….
Ranger pets miss 50% of attacks on moving targets.
Don’t know what to play.

Anyone have a good build, including skills, that would be good for a power based ranger? What traits and skills seem the best for just doing hit and runs in WvWvW and nice burst in PvE?

I just hit level 42.
I can nothing but agree. I seem to be very squishy in almost everything I do. I have built up toughness, vitality, and power from a low level but to no avail. Mobs my own level hit me for over 400. I have mostly greens on, with very good Jewelcrafting made rings, necklace, and earrings. My damage is pitiful, I wail on a target for easily 8-12 seconds before it is downed. It has really deterred me from leveling this class at the state it seems to be in.
I die as quickly as any other melee, but my damage is far from good.
I have been doing some organised WvWvW with guildmates in VOIP. I try to buff, but they simply get stolen. I try to heal but the heals seem to be really buggy. Then, when I get in with my greatsword, even people that aren’t 80 (just have been leveled up for equality), seem to negate most of my damage.

It is disheartening, it seemed like a great class at the time I made it. Perhaps it is indeed time to move on to something for valuable.

My only other thought is that perhaps Guardians would be good in PvE, if there ever was any in this game.

Was wondering what the popular builds are. It seems that healing is a common one, but many of the healing spells simply work in a way that aren’t really fit for an MMO…too latency dependent. Any simple amount of lag can render the spell useless; so I find it non-practical. I’m seeking a different build. One that is viable in WvWvW but isn’t built around healing. Also, I know Guardians aren’t the class for high damage. I’m fine with a spec that is beefy and boons with the occasional heal.

So far I’ve played an Asura thief and a Human elementalist, and I just can’t get into either. I just want a really fun class. With both, I got super bored

So for melee what weapons are the best?

Having to get up on people seems like suicide in PvP and in PvE everyone seems to go ranged because mobs knock you out so fast.

You don’t have to level at your current lvl. Go explore at other places and do their heart quest. You will die less plus gain lvl quicker. Plus have more map completion .

You mean like go do another races starter zone?

I’m level 14 and recently moved on to the Brisban Wilds.

Can anyone point me towards a good leveling spec. I feel way to squishy and my damage seems incredibly low. I have been playing a double pistol thief because getting into melee seems like a death wish. Also, why not just play a ranger or caster? The thief at range seems lacking.

Any help would be appreciated, also, can you change specs at a later date?

PS…I was wondering how useful crit is to thieves.

XP, crafting bonuses, harvesting bonuses… etc etc. The WvWvW window tells you.

How do you know when you are in the actual server instead of overflow?

Is it like a “phased” part of the server, where people aren’t in the same “phase” as others? Is there a main one? Like where the most people are? I’m just curious, it seems like it could cause problems if you’re questing with someone.

You have 5 slots so I think the more important question is what 3 classes do you really not want to play.

If you prefer dual wield and bursty damage with no ramp up, Engineer, Ranger, Necromancer, Mesmer should be off the table. Mesmer has some burst but it is awkward at best, Ranger has a lot of DPS and you can ramp that DPS up in short burst but you never really get a hard hitting ability. Plus Sword main hand is either love it or hate it. Engineer and Necromancer just don’t burst in a normal way if at all.

Elementalist with Dagger/Dagger is a good choice. Warrior Axe/Axe + Rifle is a great choice. Guardian Sword/Focus + Scepter/Shield is a good choice though not traditional dual wielding. Thief with any setup is great as well for what you want.

I would make those 4 and then save that last slot as a just in case for trying the other 4 out.

First, you need to know if you are you playing with a group or solo. Although all professions can solo, some are more survivable at it than others .

I liked the Thief and took one to level 15. It is a fun class, but requires a lot of tactics and skills micro-management to get the most out of it. If you are in a group, you can get away with some mistakes, mis-timed rolls, wrong positioning at the wrong time, etc. If playing solo, you make a mistake or 2, and you are very quickly fighting for your life since you are too squishy to be surrounded by mobs in melee range.

I switched to Ranger, mainly for solo survivability, while I learn more about the game world. My Ranger is now level 30, and enjoying it to bits. I plan to go back to the Thief after I explore more of the world.

I will play mostly alone with the exception of maybe a group of one or two with me at max.

All the nice thief feedback. I am absolutely going to roll one.

You could’ve gotten a cpu that’s two third the price and as good for pretty much any game and better spent that 100 euro you would’ve saved on a better graphics card. Or just saved it all together.The cpu power could be useful for professional software though, think video editing, compiling software and things like that. And well either way it’s not exactly a bad graphics card, it should run most new games still at or at the very least near max settings at your resolution.

I was planning on hopefully starting up a youtube channel, so who knows….maybe something good can come from it

I played an enhance shaman and rogue in wow and currently i enjoy the ranger and thief.
Although i would say a a thief with a dagger/pistol + pistol/pistol setup or a double axe + greatsword warrior.

Short answer:
Quick bursts of damage = Thieves, Warriors, Elementalists.

Long asnwer:
Don’t you think that basing your choice purely on random players opinions is a bit superficial? My suggestion is play a bit with every profession that seems to interest you, reach level 10-15 unlocking every weapon set and then try it for a while in structured pvp ( where you are given max level, max stats gear and all abilities). Also keep in mind that while some profession seem to be oriented towards a certain role ( i.e. Guardians are mostly support/meatshields) they can all play all roles to a good degree of efficiency.

Thief is what I was looking at playing. I wasn’t sure how their mechanics worked. I somewhat imagine them like rogues in other games.

Hello. I just bought this game and I want to make sure I play the class that is right for me. Usually in RPGs/MMORPGs I play classes that dual wield melee. (For instance in WoW I played an enhancement shaman and fury warrior for 6 years).

I would like a play style that has no rampup and can just unleash damage in quick short bursts. Anyone know what profession might be for me?
