Welcome to revolutionary gaming!
Hey, look! Someone who doesn’t get the point!
Did you notice that they said your GW2 code, not your HoT code?
You could be signing away your entire account.
You do sign away your entire account. It says that in the Refunds FAQ: requesting a refund closes your GW2 account.
yep i can’t agree more,
maybe one day they will surprise us …
I think we’ve had quite enough “surprises” from ArenaNet :p
Their surprises tend to be bad things.
This expansion is a disaster and the developers should feel embarrassed.
And do you have some serious arguments for it or are you just kittening?
Have you seen the HoT forum recently?
This expansion is a disaster and the developers should feel embarrassed.
At this point, I’m of the opinion that I’m done with the expansion. Unless they offer a cash shop shortcut to unlock the elites, I’m just not going to bother with GW2 and will advise people away from trying the game.
I had to wait the full 72 hours, myself.
I’ve been killed, multiple times, by some kind of leopard trash mob who has an attack that i can’t seem to dodge, and does about 14,000 damage to me.
HoT isn’t really the death of solo play… it’s a bit closer to the death of guild wars 2 entirely o.O
Keep in mind that you also need 400 hero points to max out the elite, and need to max out hero points on every single skill line you have.
This whole expansion needs a redesign. it’s a huge let down.
Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]

I’d taken a break from GW2 and was finally looking forward to coming back, with the new expansion. I played for, maybe 2 hours, and then it hit me. I need FOUR HUNDRED points to play the new specializations? PER CHARACTER?
Are you developers insane?
I’ll just go back to paying and playing other MMOs. Guild Wars 2 has gone and turned into a grindfest time-sink that would make those Korean MMOs proud.
I’m not going to waste months of my time farming hero points just to be able to finally use a feature that was billed as a core selling point of the expansion!
They should totally return everyone’s subscription money for today’s inconv- huh? What’s that? We don’t pay a subscription? Oh! Weird.
And seriously I don’t know why April Fools is such a big thing in MMOs at all. It was funny when WoW did it ONE TIME and then became tedious over there too!
If Anet felt the need to imitate Blizzard so closely, they could have just finally given us mounts! Getting across their kitten world take forever.
WoW didn’t start the April Fools trend in MMOs. Contrary to popular belief, WoW was not the first major MMORPG.
Wait, did someone seriously equate this gag to the crucifixion or whatever the religious people believe in?
This thread is comedy gold.
An internet blogger was recently butchered by knives – two bloggers in the past month, in fact.
I find it extremely offensive that knives, daggers, swords, or other bladed weapons are used in this video game. More so, that they’re used to mindlessly kill people by the hundreds.

We’re on the verge of WWIII and they put this WWII airplane garbage out. C’mon, I’m sure there’s a million different jokes they could’ve thought of. If this is the quality of content we can expect from Anet, then i don’t have high hopes for the expansion.
Wait, when’s WWIII starting? I must have missed it.
Realistically, tragedies happen every day. Thousands of people are killed in car wrecks on a daily basis – is it equally insensitive to have video games with cars in them?
Because i happen to know someone who was forced to change their character names when there is absolutely nothing offensive about them. So if there is an actual professional moderation team at work, why are they not professional enough to spot the difference between offensive/insulting/inappropriate and normal?
And no, the names in question are not – in any way – inappropriate.
The problem with the “inappropriate character name” thing is that it’s set to automatically force a renaming after a certain number of reports are made against the same name (I’ve heard multiple times that the number is four). Someone in my guild was forced to change his name (which is the name of a goddess and multiple fictional characters) because enough people reported his name due to the same four letters being used as an acronym for a terrorist organization.
So yeah, something needs to change there.
Its automated like that? 4??
Isn’t that really easy to abuse for free name changes? One thing that needs to be pointed out, if it hasn’t been already, is that you CANNOT report or ignore someone who’s being abusive via the /emote chat method. Rightclicking a name that sent an /emote, does nothing – it has no context menu. And since some people use names that include complex non-standard alphabet characters, retyping them manually can be very difficult.
Well if its too hard to report, then maybe you should think twice about what you’re reporting… If its something you won’t report because its inconvenient, maybe it isn’t THAT worthy of being reported in the first place.
I had a bad experience with something like this in Archeage. And there you have to spend currency (labor) to report people. Someone reported me for botting, probably because i was playing along with my brother on very similar names.
So to prevent being punished i had to travel to this main town, and spend currency myself to get rid of it.
So yeah, it SHOULD be inconvenient for people to report players, i mean just because someone cursed once on a frustrating situation doesn’t mean he’s like polluting the chat or being abusive or outright offensive even.
Specially when you can filter that out, if it offends you.I do see an increase in childish behavior in the game… Maybe the 10€ promotions made it more accessible to small kids, so an influx of less mature players? Still, its not even close to what you see in many other MMOs, specially the free to play kind. And nothing even slightly close to Shooters and MOBAs.
I wouldn’t be too concerned though. I do think the game could use a few more report categories in there, for spammers and whatnot.
You either didn’t read what my post said, or didn’t understand what my post said.
If someone’s name is “ÇzoàêiliIlIlIlIxîÉ” and is following you around harassing you with emotes, how do you report/block that, with any sort of ease, with no rightclick context menu on /emotes?

Indeed, it is about money.
You get a lot of gameplay hours and content free of charge. Developers still need their salaries to be paid in some way, though.
I never see much of this being done anywhere. Of course, what constitutes “much” differs from person to person.
That said, if we eliminated any use of language that someone considers offensive or vulgar, we’re be left with a language that consists of “Yes” and “No” and no other words, because someone will always find something to be offended about!
As a result, I choose to embrace the right to express and communicate thoughts, no matter or oppressive or offensive they may feel to someone else.
Having the freedom to speak your mind is much more preferable than having speech be regulated and controlled by third-parties.
If crafting is still required, then I’m still not interested.
With the post title… I thought this thread was about toilet paper. I’m now soo confused.
After watching things more closely this morning, the guild is in fact earning influence – but the log is not being updated to reflect this.
So, the bug is the log, itself.
Our guild has all but stopped generating influence from activities. I know that several of us did sPvP for many hours today, and it generated ZERO influence.
Another member spent an hour in the Silverwastes doing events, and that too, generated ZERO influence.
The only influence we seem to be gaining, is from daily logins.
This has been happening intermittently since the major patch this week (some events wouldn’t be logged), but as of March 19th, our income has just completely shut down. Not counting the login award, the last time we gained influence from anything, was more than 24 hours ago as of this writing.

I’ve never once joined a party for anything other than roleplay…
Bugs go on the bug forum, which is where I expect this thread to be transferred to.
General forum gets more notice, though. If they have to move it, it means someone read it!
I’ve found that if you rearrange items in your build queue, the items stuck at 100% will complete themselves. However, you’re only then going to start building 1 item.
It’s more a nuisance that people will go with, but only if you pay them 5-10 gold per head. People stand in front of Arah selling themselves for story mode.
And that’s why I don’t craft.
Same.
There’s no reward that would make crafting worth it, to me. It’s way too big a time and gold sink.
People can keep their ascended/legendary gear – I’m just fine without it.
This isn’t a huge deal, but it was something I noticed on a pair of pants.
Inquest Breeches (light armor) have a clipping bulge. It looks like the pant part of the half-robe are a bit too poofy at the top, causing a male human’s crotch to clip right on through.
