How Do You Deal with Lupi?

in Necromancer

Waffles.1375

for lupi I run flesh worm (set up on the edge of the ring), stability well, plague, and spectral walk. It takes practice but if you see lupi coming for you, you can use spectral walk to run in, get bubbled, and teleport back to the starting location.

Why is T3 cultural armor not exotic quality?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Waffles.1375

Waffles.1375

For the price of Tier 3 cultural armor, you would think that you would get an exotic set. For the same price, you would be able to outfit your character completely in a set of exotic armor and trinkets from the trading post, and with the amount of time it takes to make enough money for the full cultural set you could easily get an exotic dungeon set (or multiple, in some cases). So why is it that T3 armours are only of rare quality?

100k candies for wings? O.o

The candy is quite plentiful. I predict by next week you will be able to buy the candy you need for <10g

Buying 100k candy for less than 10g is literally impossible. Even at 1c per candy thats 10g right there.

The Human Knight(or priest)
The Human Seraph would be an infantryman, using spears, swords, pikes (new weapon ideas, not only tied to the knight!!) on land. The human seraph would be unique in that, as a human, they would worship the gods and have access to a “worship specialization”, where the player would be able to use their trainer to change a worship specialization among the gods, giving the player access to different F1-F3 skills.

The Knight’s trait lines could include focusing on improving damage with pikes and spears (300 and 900 range, respectively). The trait lines could also improve some of the worship from the gods. Some thoughts off the top of my head are Balthazar would give the play access to a medium damage, medium cooldown, medium duration burn, a leap or blast finisher, and a low cooldown 3 stacks of might (80% or above uptime).

While worshipping Dwayna in battle the player would be given access to two medium cooldown heal skills, one that heals in a small radius around the player and another that grants regeneration in a wide radius, and the third skill would strip conditions from allies, and for every three cured a random one would be turned into a boon.

While worshipping Melandru, the player would have access to a high cooldown, medium duration imobilize (similar to binding roots from the avatar of Melandru elite spell), and a very high cooldown (60s) skill that would cause dust to fly in every direction, interupting (not knocking down or stunning!) any skill that was being cast or used, triggering the 4s where it can’t be used. the third skill would be situational, but could cause nearby foliage (bushes, trees, etc) to lash out and deal moderate damage.

While worshipping Lyssa, the player would have access to tricks. One skill could be a passive that reveals concealment such as stealth, in a small (75) radius around you. (yes I know this is super situational)! The second skill might give inflict confusion on the target, and the third skill could be a charm similar to Norn Shaman skill i mentioned above, that dazes a single target for two seconds on range.

Worshipping Grenth, the player would be able to inflict a short duration chill and poison at melee range (“Touch of Grenth”, maybe?), at range they would be able to open the ground around a player, trapping them in place for a short duration and dealing damage (Imobilization). The third skill would be a very long cooldown that summons an Effigy of Grenth to fight with you for 15 seconds, dealing moderate damage.

Worshipping Kormir, the character is the purest seeker of truth in Tyria, and is able to reveal the cast bar of a targeted enemy for 4 seconds, letting anybody targetting that player see the progress of a cast (Not what is being cast, though!), the second skill would restore both you and the target to a natural state, restoring order you could say. The skill would strip all boons and conditions off of both you and the enemy (maybe for balance purposes, stability would be halved based on its current remaining time? 8s-4s, 10s-5s, you get the picture). The third skill would restore the spirit, the “will to fight” to allies in a large radius around you, giving them 25% of their endurance and 2s of vigor.

Now that i’ve typed all that out, I can see Knights being pretty OP, so maybe worship would only be two skills.

The Sylvari Druid
The Druid would have access to the purest form of nature magics, but quite honestly I don’t have any idea as to what a class mechanic could be for the druids. Something having to do with trees, obviously. Maybe a passive mechanic where you gain 5% damage boost near a living tree or something? The druid would maybe be a superior crowd control class, with the highest access to roots, slows, imobs, and blinds. I’ve been having trouble thinking of this one.

The Charr Brute
The Brute would function like a warrior in its capabilities for extremely high damage, but would be limited to >300 range. The class mechanic could be a beserk or frenzy, where as duration in combat increases so does damage. The Brute could maybe use a weapon such as claws, teeth, and horns. I’m also having difficulty with coming up with something for the charr.

Ideas are welcome! this is just something I thought of while leveling =)

I apologize for the wall of text, and I thank those of you who are patient or curious enough to read it.

Each race would have one class that no other race can play as, a class that fits for the respective race. Here’s a few things I thought up, It’s all a very rough sketch of a concept I think would be interesting and would maybe lead people to play other races that they might not want to otherwise. maybe other people can come up with more ideas.

The Asura Golemancer
The Asura Golemancer would have access to golems and would use golems that could have skills similar to that of the Raving Asura in fractals. It would be the master of minions, in a way that necro and ranger can’t. Trait lines could be named after each different golem you are able to summon, and would improve that golem. Or the traits could improve certain abilities. Utilities could be inventions asurans had made to accomplish various goals, apply conditions, or what have you.

The golems could be controlled in a manner similar to ranger pets, or an entirely new way. Maybe the golemancers wouldn’t have access to conventional weapon swap, but would would be able to use a unique control panel as a secondary weapon with no cooldown swap to issue commands to the golems. Or the F1-F5 keys could be used for this, and the golemancer would have access to conventional weapon swap.

The Norn Monk(or shaman)
The Norn Monk (or shaman) would focus on channeling of spirits and ancestors. There could be a trait line for Bear, Raven, Snow Leopard, Wolf, and Ancestors. The Monk would use a unique weapon called Conduits from their trainer (Purchaseable with various currencies) that would give them access to the spirit world, and could be held on the person and restricting weapon usage, but giving them access to powerful Spirit Magics. A swap system close to that of the Elementalist could be used, but instead of swapping between elements, they would swap between channeling the strengths of different spirits.

While honoring Bear, they would have access to defensive, bunker-style skills. While honoring Raven they’d have access to Raven’s wisdom, bestowing boons and cleansing conditions. While honoring Snow Leopard, they’d have the skills to fight prey with burst and stealth, and while honoring wold they would be able to fight with sustained damage and bleeds, whittling at foes like a wolf might bleed its prey. While honoring their ancestors (and this is where it could get really interesting with customization), you’re skills would be dependent on your personal story, and what decisions and paths you take. A vigil shaman who chose the death of an innocent option from the pale tree might have greater access to healing spells, stuff like that!

When we mouse over an unfinished heart on the map, we should be able to see an outline of the boundaries for that heart. It’ll encourage looking around during the heart rather than staying in one tiny corner farming centaur kills.

How does bleed stacking from crits work?

Waffles.1375

If I have 5 points in curses that gives me a 66% chance on crit to stack a bleed. If I have a Superior rune of earth on my scepter and on my dagger, does that give me 3 chances per crit to stack bleed? Will I stack anywhere from 0-3 stacks of bleed per crit?
