I am unable to put my current rings into the forge to infuse them
I make more than 100g profit through the forge on average per week while spending less than an hour doing it. Most people cant be bothered with the clicking or averaging out your rng and stop after hitting a bad run.
If only my new best friend for everest Wanze could help a poor starving man make a few hundred gold.

Does this mean you do something other than the green -> rare forging as said in this thread?
This has been suggested so many times
120 Laurels, 75 Ectos and a random stack of T6 mats per piece right?
Only 75 ectos?
I just tried killing Dunwell and he just gave a bound bag that only had like 9s and 4 sprockets. It costs 1 ticket to do, which costs 4s + 3 sprockets. You get 5s and some extra sprockets each time.

Do gambits make it more worth it?
(edited by Walrus.6390)
I have only killed 5 of those gauntlet bosses I think, but I’m liking it. Imagine if you could put gambits onto a whole dungeon run to increase the reward. This could be a solution to their “lack of challenging content” problem.
They could even add more gambits:
Trio: The dungeon party is limited to 3 players
One man down: The dungeon party is limited to 4 players
Sluggish: Slower attacks
Veteran challenge: All mobs are veteran
Champion challengeAll mobs are champion
Legendary challengeAll mobs are legendary
Calcium deficient: Damage taken causes cripple
Thin skin: Each hit taken causes bleed
Death is permanent: Once a player has been killed, they are unable to revive
Down and out: Upon reaching 0 health, the player is defeated
Tired: Weakness for the duration of the dungeon
Defiance: Crowd control has no effect on enemies
Reflection: All monsters have permanent retaliation
Perfection: Taking damage ends the dungeon
Lupicus with 5 necros: 100 achievement points

I have been playing and managed to complete the daily and get the chest, and then I decided I would get the living story daily for doing a torch run. I was really disappointed when I did one and I somehow did not get daily credit for it, but got credit for the one under the living story tab that counts multiple. I even ran a second one, but still did not get the daily. Is this because I completed the full daily before I got the torch run?
ANSWER: Only the garden torch run will give credit

Is your keyboard broken?
Because this is the only game I play besides Call of Duty. I don’t like any other game (besides GW1 which I retired) in the MMO genre besides the GW series. Even though I’m not happy with the way have some things have been going, I still enjoy wvw. I will play until the new Ghosts COD comes out, then I will be inactive for awhile. Prob come back in a few months after that.
Casual detected.
My first character’s name is Passos, and my friend has a character named Max Payne.
the easiest way to create endgame is
-reduce Karma from event
-reduce reward from dungeon
-Cultural armors more expensive
-more gears
-new skills require a lot of skill point
There’s no way this guy is serious
I’m curious about who is buying all these unidentified dyes.
Bifrost makers
Last week, I purchased a new router and the front panel LEDs did not work. I called tech support, in India, and the tech told me to “taker the power cord and plug/unplug it as fast as you can for as many times as you can for 20 seconds”. I thought that’s was nuts. After I finished, the panel LEDs still didn’t work. The tech then told me “since the router works ok, you don’t really need the front panel LEDs anyway”. Really? I couldn’t believe he told me that.
My point being…..sounds like a bs answer to a problem they have no clue about.
Oh, and I returned the router to the store.
You got trolled
Every mob I’ve seen in game takes condition damage, including the tree.
The conditions get applied, but it does no damage I’m pretty sure
I dont trust them enough to give them my bank info
It’s paypal….
You could, but it is not easily possible because there is a large margin between gold → gems and gems → gold
ya i mean, you might as well use sigil of smothiering
Thanks XD
Does the sigil of the night work in CoF? (Is it counted as night time?)
It would be great to have a 10% damage boost while farming CoF…
If the player who started the dungeon starts the kick on someone and the person gets kicked, it ends the dungeon.
There is no reason to go past 20 because that is the level at which you get fractal weapons. You could get 30 AR without the amulet, but you only need 20.
If you want to make money, crafting is not a great way to do it.
No, you don’t have to grind, but given there’s a horrible lack of worthwhile content later on (and yes I’m aware that’s a subjective thing), ultimately the attractive aesthetic long term goals become one of the few remaining things that people gravitate towards. Namely legendary weapons
But it’s at that point then that you begin to see the flaws in the system and given we just simply have BETTER options out there in the gaming world, and considering they don’t use the same flawed aspects in their cash shops or gameplay and offer up a more rewarding environment that seem to be evolving based on actual “needs” as opposed to just “cos we say so” well… honestly it just baffles me as to how certain choices were made when there has been huge successes by avoiding said choices.
The ideal that it’s a take it or leave it also puzzles me, when the main line of defense is to tell people to deal with it or bugger off politely. Generally that doesn’t help much in terms of discussion. So yeah, there’s no “mandatory” grind outside of one or two things, but it’s more an issue with WHERE the grind is, as opposed to it existing that the issue arises. And you’ll see all sorts of odd reasoning behind defending the decisions too. Fact of the matter is that at least to many, it no longer matters if we’re being infracted or not here, because any lingering care we have towards GW2 is fading fast.
This is what I was thinking. Hardcore players would not need to grind if there was a sufficient amount of content for them to do. Just think of it this way, a hardcore player plays the game for a long time. The player is not going to get off and do other stuff…. he’s going to sit there and play that game. Now, he has to think about what he’s going to do for the day:
- 100% completion: That’s easy, it won’t take long to do (they probably have it)
- Dungeons: They have no use for these, other than CoF tokens, which they can get ecto with
- WvW: Minimal rewards are enough to drive a player away
- PvP: Absolutely no reward for PvE
- Fractals: The only real goal for fractals is the fractal capacitor back piece, which requires a grind of repeating the dungeon a large amount of times as well as a bunch of money for ectos. After they get this piece of equipment, they are pretty much done.
There’s nothing to do, so that leaves them with 2 options:
- Legendary weapon
- Finding another game
I’m sort of speaking with experience. I’d consider most of this on par with my feelings/thoughts on the game.
I wish I could get the monthly. All I need now is the tournament match wins. I’ve tried multiple times to join a tournament, and there are not even enough people to make a single team. This is pretty sad.
Some people in this thread don’t understand the difference between the words “moral” and “morale”.
Moral:
adjective
1. of, pertaining to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; ethical: moral attitudes.
2. expressing or conveying truths or counsel as to right conduct, as a speaker or a literary work; moralizing: a moral novel.
3. founded on the fundamental principles of right conduct rather than on legalities, enactment, or custom: moral obligations.
4. capable of conforming to the rules of right conduct: a moral being.
5. conforming to the rules of right conduct ( opposed to immoral ): a moral man.
Morale:
noun
emotional or mental condition with respect to cheerfulness, confidence, zeal, etc., especially in the face of opposition, hardship, etc.: the morale of the troops.

In your opinion, what class/build is optimal for being a commander? Discuss.
Honestly, it’s not worth it at this point. You do make a decent amount of money, but you could get a little more from another method.
I used 51 skill points
I just made about 5g
I could have made about 6g
At the time of posting this, molten core → lodestone promotion would have made me that 6g
Gambling would be fun for some people, but it has a lot of negatives to it, I think we’ll probably stay away from it.
Black lion chests
Mystic Forge
100% not gambling
Afterthought: Oh, how about the Wintersday minipets? To get those, you pretty much had to gamble real life money or massive amounts of in game gold.
John, if you could give us some data like the OP asked for, that would be great. That’s kinda the whole point of this thread.
I love how John comes into the thread and does not even acknowledge the OP
I don’t understand why these are so rare. The items you can craft aren’t the most amazing thing ever. They can’t even be seen by other players.
I have heard it discussed in the wvw forums, and it just happened to me. I did damage to the lord and stood in the middle of the circle the entire time. The event did not show up on the side of the screen. It’s a little bit of a let down because it’s a pretty decent reward, and I’m sure there are many people who are missing it.
As far as I’m aware, this only happens in the western keep. I’m not sure if it is specific to a certain borderland.
Absolutely support seeing an update to this. I so want to see some actual numbers behind the appearant laughingstock their wealth equality goal has become.
Yup.
I would also love to see another one of these, it would be interesting.
Find something you can GUARANTEE that you can make a good profit on.
Could you give me a hint of where I can start? I’ve got an idea of what kind of tool it is and everything, but I just can’t think of what item, of thousands, would have enought profit margin and liquidity. I’m not exactly asking for your item, just how can I find a similar one?
I think it’s kind of funny how a couple of days ago, I 3-manned this boss with ease on level 13 I think. One person fell into lava during the jumping part and the other died in the beginning of the fight. I don’t think I even went down the whole fight.
Daily’s and montly karma jug’s, save those up, I almost have 100 of jugs and a few flask’s gulps, with Karma booster 50%, Karma Banner +5 and 1 extra buff you can look for…Outmanned buff in WvW (33% Karma) = + 78%. For a jug that;’s almost 9k per jug.
Outmanned does not affect liquid karma. The only ones that do are karma booster, karma banner, guild karma buff, and ice cream karma buff
Again though guys, can you consume 2x karma boost for 1.5×1.5 effect? Don’t want to waste a boost if it doesn’t!
You can only have 1 of each type of boost I mentioned above.
I’d say the best way to farm karma would be hitting supply camps in wvw, and if there’s a commander on, follow them around to take some bigger stuff.
I’ve got a support-heavy ele. I think it is a very good class, helping the team out very much. Here’s my build, although you could do some other builds that are pretty supportive, such as an aura build.
I’m wearing an apothecary/cleric mix, which is healing power, toughness, and condition damage/power. I am wearing dwayna runes, which further increases my healing power and the 6th power gives me the ability to give 5 seconds of regeneration to allies near me when I use my main healing skill.
I am maxed in earth (toughness/condition trait line) and I have the grandmaster trait which allows you to keep the passive effect of a signet after activating it. Also, I have the trait to allow signets to recharge faster. For my healing skill, I use the healing signet, which is the fastest recharge (even faster with the trait). I gain health every time I cast a spell (that’s the passive effect) and when I activate it I keep the passive effect due to the trait. This allows me to heal my team very often using just my base heal alone.
I have the trait which grants boons to yourself and nearby allies when swapping elements. This means that when I swap to water, it heals everyone around me, as well as myself. I can also give everyone protection from switching to earth.
I have the trait that causes something to happen at the end of your dodge roll. When you are attuned to water, you cause a “cleansing wave” at the end of your roll. This clears 1 condition (the condition farthest to the right) and heals a decent amount. I also like the dodge roll effect from the earth dodge, which causes a blast finisher that can be very useful to combo with your own combo fields (great to use after water or before fire).
I have 10 points in water (the healing/vitality trait line), which grants a constant regeneration effect to any ally around you while you are attuned to water.
Finally, my actual skills. I use the staff, which is mainly personal preference. All the weapons are good in their own ways, but if you’re going to use this build you should either use staff or dagger/dagger. You can heal everyone who is around the enemy you are autoattacking.
-The autoattack has a splash radius that heals people standing in it for a minor amount.
-The 3 skill is a medium healing spell that heals a decent amount and disappears quickly.
-The 5 skill is the big one. First, it cures 1 condition when you stand in it. It then gives you a regeneration effect from standing in it, and if you are in it the whole time, the regeneration ends up healing about 5k health.
After all that, you could easily heal yourself from the brink of death up to full health. I absolutely love this build and it is so satisfying to use.
If anyone wants to know the specifics of my build, such as traits, exact numbers of how much healing/damage I do, and anything else, you can go ahead and send me mail or a whisper in-game. My in game name is: Passos

Thank you very much for the nicely detailed response, Lightrayne! Just what I wanted! I very much appreciate your help
I was trying this out today and it was so slow. The money I was making would easily be more if I was running dungeons. What’s recommended for the fastest money making? I think the problem is that the initial investment is too low. What kind of stuff should I flip when I have around 10g?
Omnomberry bars give 30% MF and 40% gold from monsters. Can anyone give an example of what the 40% gold is? Is it worth the 3s+ to buy?
According to guildwarstrade.com and gw2spidy.com, various account bound items are being traded. Does anybody know how they are doing this?
Personal black lion merchant: http://www.guildwarstrade.com/item/35977
I would also like to know this. I saw a guy on my server trying to make a legendary a while back, but couldn’t put the precursor into the mystic forge. I don’t know if it’s because he transmuted it, or because he put something in the slot. Will putting in the cheap +5 agony infusion prevent me from upgrading my item when the time comes?
you can do a mini-dungeon for 1h or 30 min
That’s funny how I just did fractal level 3 last night in 2 hours.
That means if they truly did take 1 hour 30 mins each, it would have taken 4 and a half hours
~~Reply to this thread to bump it if you think it is an important issue~~
There has to be a reason why there are barely any players in WvW.
There are 2 reasons to do anything in a game:
>Pure fun
>Rewards
I know there are people out there who will complain that people should do things for fun rather than rewards. The fact is, people will do it anyway. Rewards make people have a feeling of accomplishment. This is the main point behind legendary weapons. Denying that fact won’t make it go away.
Fun Oriented__________________
For people who play WvW for fun, lacking population makes it far less fun. They want to take over the map, have epic battles…. but instead, they own nothing on the map. They are stuck zerging on a commander to take camps and maybe some towers. This is not what they really want. They want tons of people with them taking over a keep in an epic battle.
Reward Oriented________________
These people want to get some cool looking gear. They want to progress their character. They don’t want to invest money into towers that will get reset after a couple of weeks. They want to amass a fortune or get the new ascended gear. They want to farm for hours upon hours having little to no fun in the Cursed Shore; day in and day out. Yet, if you asked them if they like this game, they will say yes. They like it because they like to achieve things. In WvW, their efforts are useless and progress thrown away with no material remembrance.
Combine the 2__________________
If WvW had some reward for playing, it could come alive. Reward oriented players would go in WvW and play with the fun oriented players, making everyone happy. Right now, there is actually more incentive to lose in WvW. Losing allows you to zerg any camps and grab the money and karma. Winning only allows you to sit in a tower while it’s getting attacked.
What needs to happen is, there needs to be a reward for defending what you have. Now, I know there is a reward. However, it is barely noticeable. It is the same as zerging a camp, which takes 5 minutes max, compared to defending a tower which could take over 15 minutes.
Possible Solutions________________
Note: I’m not saying Anet should definitely pick one of these. This is merely raw brainstorming. Feel free to brainstorm with me in this thread
- Income rewarded to the guild holding it for the duration that it is held (deposit per score tick)
>Influence
>Gold put into a stash called the “War Treasury”, which can not be withdrawn, but only spent to purchase upgrades on forts or buying siege. There will be a new permission in the Guild permissions allowing the use of this money.
- Pay people who defend
>Pay them per enemy kill. This can be karma, gold or badges of honor. Ex: 2 badges of honor per enemy killed while on defense, along with possible loot bags which you normally get.
-Have “Successful Defense” Points/Tokens
>Give points/tokens for each defense which did not result in a failure.
>1 for camps
>5 for towers
>20 for keeps
>These can be turned in for something which would show that you have contributed to the winning in WvW. I’m not sure what this could be. Possibly weapon skins, armor skins, titles, or even an icon next to your name indicating your rank. Similar to the 100% world complete, on the other side, you can put a military rank. The more points you have, the higher the rank you can have.
>Do NOT give another version for attacking. Attacking merely allows you to defend more, so it would have enough incentive.
