Recruitment is still open. Our guild is now level 21 and we have unlocked the arena!
The Servants of Fortuna (SoF) is a small, tight-knit, primarily PvE guild on Yak’s Bend that has been terrorizing Grawl since the beginning of GW1. Our guild has claimed the Gilded Hollow as our home, is currently Level 17, and is continuing progress on further guild hall upgrades. We are looking to grow our numbers in order to be better equipped to tackle the new expanded content introduced in Heart of Thorns. We need players who are friendly, mature, over 18 years old and respectful towards all players. You do not have to be an expert but please be a competent player with at least one fully equipped (exotic or higher) level 80 character with access to all end game content. We do not require 100% representation but we do want players who are interested in participating in group activities (guild missions, dungeons, etc) with the guild. If you’d like to call SoF home please let us know on our forums. http://forum.sof-guild.com/forumdisplay.php?f=44

When I made my ascended armor for my PvE mesmer I chose rampager stats (major precision, minor power, minor condition) but I’m no longer convinced it was a good choice. I think I sort of chose it to do a combination of power and condition damage with the precision helping proc on crit effects but I suspect that cut rate power plus cut rate condition damage might not be terribly effective. I’ve learned that you can now pretty easily change your ascended armor stats via a mystic forge recipe but I’m not sure if I should and I’m not sure what I should select.
So I guess my questions are
1) Are rampager stats effective?
2) If not what stats should I go with for a PvE mesmer?

Well, as long as you’re serious about getting to the end game content I’d encourage you post an application anyway. The one or two hours a night is not a problem and I think you’ll find that leveling may come easier than you expect with some help from a guild.

If you’re interested I would encourage you to consider applying as a group to Servants of Fortuna as a secondary guild. You’d be able to keep your own guild while also having access to a larger adult community.

My problem with dailies is that I can find myself having played for a few hours only to realize I’ve made ZERO progress on my dailies.
My suggestion is that dailies be updated with two levels of criteria that can be used to complete it. For example you could have a daily for “Complete 4 events on Brisbane OR complete 10 events on any other map” or “Harvest 4 plants in Orr OR harvest 10 plants in any other map”
This would let you jump around maps to do the minimum required to meet the daily req while also letting you satisfy the requirements through natural play on whatever map you are enjoying at the moment.
I have some problems with the ligaments in my left hand. This makes playing in areas that require me to find objects on the ground (chests and such) physically painful after 10 minutes or so of stretching my pinky down to control as I WASD around. I would absolutely love an option to always show objects or let cntrl toggle object names on or off. It’s not just a matter of convenience to me. It’s a matter of being in physical pain when I play this game. I’ve tried in the past several times to push for this QOL change and have always been ignored.
Please lump the PvE dailies onto one map. The old dailies were nice because they would just happen as you play but now we have to jump all over the map and it feels super artificial. If the view a vista\complete events\harvest\ect were all placed on one map we could go there and play naturally.
If you look at the last month, the sell listing volume dropped very far down. It looks like either the drop rate has been lowered or people aren’t farming them any more. I would guess that the spike down is due to people realizing how expensive they are at the moment and dumping what they have in the bank on the market to cash in. It might start going up again once those sell orders are cleared out.
1) Please provide some sort of ‘compact’ feature for our banks. I have all of the bank tabs bought and filled with clutter and it is often find my partial stack of ItemX when I go to deposit more so I always end up with multiple partial stacks of the same item. It does not help that the search feature does not always behave as expected.
2) When equipping items from the hero tab please prioritize those items (soulbound) to drop into invisible\safe bags. Often in a dungeon I might swap out a main and offhand combination with a two handed weapon only to find that my offhand item is intermixed with all of my vendor trash.
3) Please provide an option in the hero tab to only list soulbound items in the right click equip context menu. You often have very little time to swap equipped items while in a dungeons as you race to get it done before something hits you and puts you back into combat mode. If I’ve found an exotic item or two having then show up in the list when I right click my weapon slot takes up valuable brain power as I panic to change my equipment in a small time frame. The opportunity to accidentally soulbound something I want to sell is frightening. I’d like to have a check box so that only my soulbound items show up.
I’d love to be able to mystic forge 4 of them to get 10 pristine relics.
This is pretty common behavior for event items. What you’ll see is right before the event ends a bunch of people will get the idea that the supply is about to be cut off. They will all run out and buy up a bunch of them to sell them when the event is over to try to make money. If you look on gw2 spidy you will see that spike around Jan 3rd/4th. Then those people have no patience and all sell their items at the same time once the event ends and you see the price go down which you see from Jan 7th to 14th. Once the supply from the get rich quick traders runs out the price will begin to climb again. The real money is made in selling to those traders right before the event ends.
My “Items Sold” and “Items Bought” tab time out (they’re really long). Any chance it could show the last 5000 entries or so to improve performance?
It’s free in the style section of the gem store.
Clone on dodge does not work if you are ‘disguised’ like in the charr fractal.
aaaaaand…. there it goes. This is why we can’t have nice things….
If you buy ectos at the lowest current buy order rate of 32.01s you would have to resell them at 37.66s just to break even. There are thousands of ectos listed below that. It would take a lot of resources to move that enough to make money on. It would be kind of silly to buy up ectos expecting someone else to move the pile that much.
Mint seems a pretty solid investment. I doubt lodestones (specifically the glacial lonestone) will go up much. Lodestones were used to craft the Halloween weapons but very few people actually did so as the weapons dropped so frequently from chests that they were not worth crafting.
I don’t know. They used pumpkins at Halloween for spicy pumpkin cookies and omnomberry ghosts. They’re bound to have winter related craftable food but predicting the market can be tricky when a lot of people are trying to make a quick buck. If I recall correctly everything spiked the highest the night before the event actually began.

I just tried it. You do NOT get +1 deaths for entering the mad king’s relm. I had 14 before and after entering. Also all of the content in the mad king’s relm bumps you to 80.
My char ranger Mr. Whyskers has a moa named Extra Crispy
I haven’t done Arah explorable yet but have you tried distortion (short sword #2 or F4 shatter)? The problem that I have with mimic (and reflection) is that a lot of times something you think is a projectile is not REALLY a projectile so you get flattened anyway.
Yup. I went through pretty much the exact same thing yesterday except I don’t think we got him below 80% before there were >25 crystals healing him. It’s a shame because the rest of the path was very fun and strategic.
