Before we could go to our class NPC and buy a book that would shuffle back our specializations, traits, and get our hero points back. I’ve checked the beginner areas and I don’t see the classes NPCs anymore. Then how do we do that now?
The Kurzick armor sets were my favorite in Factions.
Here is my first alt to finally reach LV 80, my necro, wearing one of the Halloween outfit.
It’d be great to get necro armors from GW1 in GW2. I find that sad that my necro has nothing gothic to wear. I really miss her look:

Here is a screenshot of my necro in GW1.

1 – Necromancer
2 – Elementalist
3 – Ranger
Once I was ingame, I could not port anywhere and the portal in Divinity Reach did not work as well. I tried to spend trait points but that did not work too.
Here is my Sylvari ele
It’d be great if it were to be implemented.
I wonder what will be the new areas, new races and new professions. I just hope it’s Cantha.

Here is my most beautiful female, my necro, and my most beautiful male, my elementalist:

They should do like they did for GW1, split PvE and PvP/WvWvW skills. Like that PvE players would not get their classes nerfed into oblivion.
I will redo the parts in every video that dealt with gear, runes and sigils when the patch hits.
Thanks!!! Especially the traits.
Consume Condition is a good heal if you have a condition build or hybrid (half condition half burst) build.
Which is wierd – the white people thing. Krytans weren’t white in GW1.
Yes, the Krytans are white and caucasian. The Krytans are mediterraneans. They look like the French, Italian, Spanish and Greeks. Brown-dark haired, brown eyes, light to dark skin. I should know, I’m French (from Quebec in Canada) and we all have pretty much that, brown hair and brown eyes. I don’t recall us mediterraneans being Black, Asians or Indians.
It’s not just the British and the Nordic countries, the blonder hair and lighter skins that makes one “white and caucasian”. We are too white and caucasian.

I agree with OP, stop making jumping puzzles as main contents of the game, and start working on real contents instead, like Cantha. I don’t mind them as something minimal, a mini-game, that can be done on the side if you like them so much, and those who hate them or cannot do them are not forced to do them. But stop forcing those jumping puzzles in everyone’s throat.
(edited by Willowleaf.5721)
I find that silly that the idea that old players must love jumping puzzles. I remember my first games were at the arcades playing Donkey Kong and Pac Man, later I got a Nintendo. I don’t like jumping puzzles, especially because it’s contents I cannot do, and that I see more and more instead of real contents like Cantha.
Thank you for making an updated video of the hybrid.
Strange! I see instead that there are a lot of people that DON’T enjoy the jumping content, not the other way around.
I gave to my necromancer the same name my necro had in GW1: Omaure Darkwings. I always give english names in MMOs to my alts, even though I’m not, so I wanted something more French with her first name so I came up with Omaure. It’s pretty and elegant.
I can only agree with everyone. Factions with Cantha is my favorite campaign from GW1. Everything about it, the look, the music, the alliance battles, the ritualist, which quickly became one of my favorite classes, along with the mesmer. I really hope we will see again the awesomeness of Cantha in GW2, and the ritualist. I will be really disappointed if we don’t.
Yes it does. JP are not content. I’m not saying they should eliminated them completely, but they should not be the focus of the game or the main content of dungeons. They’re mini-games and should be treated as such.
As for Cantha, which was my favorite campaign (both PvE, PvP and new classes), you have obviously not seen this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/The-Cantha-Thread/first
I’ve been playing MMO since 2004, and videogames since age 5, I’ve done plenty of everything, but I don’t consider JP as content, especially as viable dungeon content. As for Cantha (Factions), it did bring the best PvP in GW1, alliance battles, so you shouldn’t spit on Cantha so quickly if I were you.

I’m disabled so I have to skip most vistas because they’re too hard, as for JP, forget that. I have to agree that Anet should stop turning the game into a JP and give real contents instead that everyone can play. I’d rather see Anet work on getting Cantha out than some stupid JP.

Yeah, they should do things just like in GW1, separate PvE and PvP.
I vote Ritualist.
People, me included, have been complaining about this since beta about this sudden change and Anet has never done anything about it. It seems since Nexon got some shares of NCSoft some people from Nexon are now working on GW2, and it’s a person working for Nexon who told us a crappy reason for not allowing it anymore. Nexon is well known to be a bad company, has a bad reputation, ruins games and only care about profits.
First, there are no Sky Pirates in the Gendarran Fields, I should know I’m there, there is no point in changing the map.
Second, even if a person changed the map, the Wiki is there to help and to serve the community, so the person has no right to change it because he/she liked it better that way, when that does not serve the community at large. The wiki is NOT a personal website where people can put what they want, they can get themselves a free blog on Wordpress.com for that.
“If you were using the previous map as a guide, just click on the map to go to the map page, and then click on the map just below the current one. It has all the hearts, etc. =)”
As for that, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
The Gendarran Fields Map (high res version) on the Wiki is now bugged. I’ve been doing the map on my necro and at first the map was showing the usual, hearts, waypoints, skill points, etc., but not anymore. I thought maybe Anet has decided to remove them so I’ve checked the other maps and they all have hearts, waypoints, skill points, but not Gendarran Fields.
I agree. In GW1 necros have pretty gothicy armors, but there are none like that in GW2.
That armor is the one my female necro has in GW1:

Pretty nice huh?
I also have a female necro in GW2 but she has nothing to wear really gothic. There is the Nightmare one that looks like the evil Queen in Snow White would wear that is decent but…

I’m looking forward to it to your updated version with the patch we got.
The link does not work for me (Opera, FF).
I did not buy the box of Guild Wars 2, I bought the digital version for the first time. But I’m sure of one thing, every single box of NCSoft games always come with keys to give away for their games (or yourself to use to try one of their games). After buying GW1 with all campaigns, pre-orders and GWEN I had quite a few keys for most of NCSoft games, including GW1. So I have no idea if indeed GW2 came with keys for the game, but if it’s not the case then it’s rather sad. I think personally it’s be great to give keys to friends to try out the game for a limited period of time.
It makes me glad I made a male Asura guardian, no skirts or almost.
Nope!! I want GW2 to stay an open world PvE game. And those who want to PvP know where to go (sPvP, WvWvW).
Bring back the ritualist instead Anet.
+1
Excellent suggestion here.
That is a good suggestion. I keep forgetting to do this.
I love Cantha, I really hope we will see it again. I’m not fond of deserts and sands so Nightfall (Elona) left me cold. In the other hand, Cantha was so enchanting, everything from the scenics, building to the music. And I got there too one of my favorite classes the ritualist.
Nope. PvE player here. I played GW1 since Prophecies’ s launch, got all expansions, GWEN, so GW2 is a continuation of that.
I’ll repeat it again:
Make the dyes account wide!!!
I hope they will add more classes, especially the ritualist. New classes make me start new alts, new races have zero effect on me. I’ve never understood the obsession of some who want to play as Tengu, a big chicken, zero interest on my side.
Anet had no right to move the thread here, this thread has everything to do with people asking Anet to fix something or to offer other AA alternatives. It’s been a bug since closed beta that when you try to force the AA on AMD cards GW2 becomes blank and unplayable; x times later and it’s still not fixed. We still cannot force AA anyway, whether it’s Nvidia or AMD.
Nope, in my case it’s impossible to force the AA of my AMD graphic card on GW2. If I do so the whole game goes blank when I login so I cannot play.
I don’t have anyone in real life, either a friend or a relative that plays videogames. I deeply envy those who do and who have tons of friendly contacts in MMOs with family and friends. Alas it’s not my case.
to me, the last statement absolutely sums it up best. not all games are, or should be, all things for all people. past games that have attempted to do that have to a large measure hamstrung themselves. imo, we’re seeing a division in the genre, bringing elements to a game that people do want, then working to fully implement and develop those elements. anet has steadfastly stood behind their intent, and a part of that intent with this game was building cohesiveness and cooperation within worlds, not competition.
i’m saying this with all respect, please understand it: as wow is no longer my game, and rift is no longer my game, and tsw failed to grab me … perhaps gw2 isn’t your game because it doesn’t have these elements you seek. i don’t believe that’s a fault, or a lack, on the part of gw2; i do believe it is that this game appeals to players like me who seek cooperative play as opposed to competitive play. this isn’t a failing, it isn’t a lack, it’s just a different approach that actually does appeal to a great mass of players.
You pretty much said what I’d say on this matter. And I’m here as well for the PvE and cooperative aspects of GW2, and GW1 too.
Yeah, I have troubles with some vistas too and I’m disabled as well. If I see a vista is too difficult I skip it. There are times when I’m with guildies they show me the right way to get there, but most of the time I’m on my own. Also, my sense of equilibrium is bad too so that is something else negative I bring in the game. I wish the vistas were easier, usually the view is pretty nice there and I always take screenshots.

5 is perfect, it’s for all those with a small group of friends or small to medium guild doing stuff together.
I don’t like the Norns side much beside Wayfarrer Foothill so my vote goes to Divinity Reach.
Well, I’d love hitting on Agent Ihan ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agent_Ihan ), one reason I picked the Order of Whispers. Or the cute white haired scout Rebec in Queensdale.
