I’m not rich enough for Strength so I go with Flame Legion. It seems to work pretty well for a power reaper with Dhuumfire.
But, yeah, if you have the gold, Strength is best.
That build doesn’t have any shouts traited. Did you mean, wells?
Either way, this is what I run for power, shouts, GS.

Basically make sure the high condi damage deathly chill reaper always chills first and you shouldnt have much of an issue.

But if you’re not the first person to chill the target, you’re screwed until the other person’s stacks drop.

I don’t mind the difficulty as much as I mind not having enough waypoints.
Although, Hero Points could be a bit easier.
So this one time I shadow returned to a SR on mid (graveyard) from the tunnel area next to the enemy team’s base.
It ported me up ontop of the bridge.

Other times it just doesn’t work at all…I can’t lie, I have no idea what you’re describing. I’m not even sure if you’re talking sPvP/tPvP or WvW nor am I sure what you consider a base.
Sounds like he’s in Warsong Gulch.
Not sure if related but, I’ve noticed issues with GW2 not wanting to register multiple key inputs. If I recall, I’d be on auto run, then press W and try to turn and it wouldn’t.
I’ve gotten used to it now, but I remember it being really annoying when I first started playing.

I could definitely see ANet going that route.
The person who designed this skill clearly was not aware that the system limitations precluded the functionality of the skill he/she was designing. When the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing, mistakes happen. When the mistakes are pointed out, it is important to reconcile the discrepancy between the skill and the system in which the skill operates.
Your superior logic has no place here.

See Pistol Whip as it was at launch + haste was extremely powerful. People cried OP, so they nerfed Pistol Whip, when the problem was quickness all along.
This. It’s kinda funny actually. When the nerfed PW, I specifically recall everyone saying that this was going to happen…
It’s actually one of the very best methods to achieving balance, but it’s normally poorly received. Nerfs and buffs are always best in incremental steps where you can then observe the real world effects of each change before proceeding on. Even the most talented of people can’t predict the savvy adjustments some of the player base makes.
There’s nothing wrong with incremental nerfs/buffs when there is dps number balancing to do. But that’s not what happened here.
They made a design change that has a long list of undesired side effects. (loss of dps/survivability/utility)
And to make the matter worse, they made this design change last-minute before releasing the patch. Most likely because they finally realized the potential consequences of their initial plan and how it would also effects Mesmers.
That’s just poor development. Plain and simple.
I wasn’t disagreeing with your overall assessment, just clarifying. ;-)
The change does reduce backstab dps. But ONLY backstab dps; you’re total dps does not take a 1/4 hit.
