9/10 times a mace/shield gsword warr will beat a guardian no matter what build.
Well, yeah, their mitigation is pretty active, that’d be ideal. But instead of engaging mechanics and varied skills rangers got sat with a single option because the rest suck, and the option they got stuck with happens to be the most boring one, ever.
Guardian is one of the most polished classes in the game. Warrior was too, his only issue was uptime in teamfights.
And what did they do? Oh, Give them 800 health regen with minimal investment, and the most broken high cd stances that make them 1v1 gods and temporary immune, but still doesn’t fix them in team fights because the broken 40-50 sec cd godly stances that break them in 1v1 will not be available in many of the teamfights.
Instead of giving them slightly more condi removal more often, they give them 8-10 seconds of condition immunity, 4 seconds of damage immunity, and 8 seconds of stability alongside the brokenness of signet of rage+ lyssa for an unpeelable damage monster.
Everybody should have known that with the damage they do warriors could not possibly have high uptime on targets, but it happened anyways and now you see things melt because there’s no way the other classes were balanced to survive eating a hundred blades or an eviscerate on top of the constant high damage autoattacks of the warrior who’s now regening 800 health per sec and has not only shield stance bur berserker stance and endure pain to wait out the second skull crack into hundred blades.
When hyperboles like these are presented, we really have to blame ourselves, the playerbase, for the mess that PvP has become.
800 regen per second comes with minimal investment?
Do you honestly believe that a Cleric amulet and a completely defensive build can be considered “minimal investment”? (Because I really hope you know that you have to run 30 in Tactics and 30 in Defense to get to that number). But that’s not all, you will have to run two mediocre utilities for that as well as a heal that you can never activate.
Seriously guys, the hyperboles need to stop, unless you have more fun playing the forums than playing the game.
Get off it, elementalists need to spec water and arcana but nobody called that a huge sacrifice when the valkyrie elementalists were running around and people were crying.
The regen achieved by a warrior that can still hit 7k 100b is just dumb.
Im having some fun now, with mine warr 0/20/20/0/30.. 800hp regen each sec, with full adraline.
100b that can hit for 16k.. Full beserker,, fighting at mid with the gaurd gives more regen. mace/shield for the stuns.. Anyways you dont need valkrie for 800 regen im just playing with beserker scholar and 0 in tacticts/
That depends on the weapons used. On a longbow it’s very useful
and on other fast weapons too but as i said, the point is to remove
conditions; i can’t do that when one conditions always seems to be blind which makes me miss. Also blind was buffed so you need to actually miss a hit that would have connected to remove it. By that time i am blinded once more.
Rinse and repeat… and then you are dead.
In regards to the overall effectiveness of the build, it seems to be doing fine. In larger team fights it’d require considerable support (due to being immensely squishy), but in small skirmishes or 1v1’s it shines, which is the point, I assume. As long as you use your greatsword mobility to help harass far and home, sticking to small skirmishes, you should maintain maximum effectiveness.
It should remove the condition/s prior to executing the skill.
As it stands with the current aoe condition spamfest in teamfights
and especially in 8v8 spvp you are blinded every few seconds.Take into account a slow weapon such as the hammer or the mace and you are completely useless.

Yes, warrior damage is very high, though I’m not sure what the point of this video was: Youtube is full of clip shows from every class showing off big burst damage. If you want to show off a class, or your skill, you should post an unedited high-end pvp match.
Most of the people in your video didn’t even know they had a dodge button.
Edit: Just had a look at the player titles in that vid: Maybe I missed it, but there weren’t any (or many) Ransackers in there. Lots of PVE or non-titled characters though. The Champ Phantom necro is an exception, and we all know stuns are the hard counter to necros due to their lack of stability.
Point of the video, own interest, I just love it to edit videos, and share them with you. And as I cant test it alot in tpvp I wanna hear your opinion bout warrs with this build, in tpvp my thief is more wanted.
Try to dodge the f1 mace -_- Wait till stab in off etc. Most of them were ranked. But then again dont be fooled by rank. And titles, I sometimes run with sanctum sprinter or slayer title. ^^
the stun sigil… I’m sorry, but it doesn’t actually do anything, atleast from what it seems… when I checked, the amount of time the stuns were both from MH Mace and Hammer were the same as without (atleast from the numbers that were on the skills).
I am not sure about the shield, but I think it is the same.
Yeah stun sigils do work they just don’t appear on the tooltip. Not 100% if they stack, I know they don’t for necros but looks like they might on war

As you can see the daze on steal is amazing when ppl are stomping with stabilty. n4 daze when ppl are almost dead and trying to heal :P
And the burst its just a fun build with a 20 sec steal.

You added a variable, you didn’t specifically mention steal or include bountiful theft. Or account for multiple boons. You’re like a kid adding rules as you lose a madeup game.

ty! I mainly play a thief/mesmer, but playing somehting new is always refreshing.
Out of a Mesmer and a Thief at the same skill level, the Mesmer will win 1v1.. until the Thief realises he can’t win and runs away with super high mobility and seemingly endless stealths.
Depends on builds, but 9/10 times a thief will kill a mesmer.

Thief is popular in hot joins. Those thieves I meet in tourneys are just free kills (pistol whipper here). Thief can be really strong if played right. But that means either going for no-stealth or the zerker backstab build (which is the one build everyone hates and the reason for all QQ). If we stealth we doesn’t contest the node, therefore we need to stay out of stealth or eliminate our enemy within seconds.
d/p here ^^ always at the teamfight! in stealth picking targets out bursting together.. go in stealth again.. We only contest when nobody is on the point.. ^^
I wouldn’t mind having block reveal the thief. But the best counter to backstab? Evade. It’s a nice little tool tons of people seem forget they have the second the thief stealths. We only have a few seconds to land out backstab, so if the first one is blocked we have one shot left, which 90% of the times won’t land because of evade or just moving out of the way.
Thief is a weak class in sPvP where almost every game is based on spreading boons, conditions and locking down any enemy with knockdowns, interrupts, immobilizes and stuns. As a thief you’re really vulnerable, and one knockdown is often enough time to have it bursted down… A guardian can completely lock down a thief and kill it within seconds.
Not true imo, thief is a very strong class in spvp/tpvp, dont underestimate it. Main is a mesmer, always been a strong class, played ele the normal tourny build 0/20/0/20/30, but playing as a thief now d/p is its a strong build if played correct, if you dont like boons and cond, play a s/d thief with lyssa. ^^
Aegis? It’s not a problem agaisnt a noob, but what the problem is that when a guardian notices a thief break his aegis and then after he stealths he pops his aegis again, effectively cancelling out our elite and 1 hit from assasin signet. That’s already punishment enough for playing smart, and you people want to reveal the thief on top of that?
Aegis hmm.. just hit him one time in stealth its gone.. its blocked.. but your still in stealth tho xD
