You can faceroll through HoT with the correct builds/equipment… I haven’t met anyone who can not complete it(ignoring bugs of course). Plus, That’s what the GUILD in Guild Wars stands for. If your guild doesn’t help maybe it’s time to shop for another one.

I think the biggest problem is that in GW1 most everything was done in it’s own personalized instance. Here in GW2 it would create too much clutter. I loved my heroes sure, but there’s a lot of other things need fixing and implementation. I could see hero reward tracks(like the pvp ones), black lion ones, gem ones etc. Just doesn’t fit to me in current climate. Maybe all it needs is a buff to the useless NPCs in HoT Story mode. I thought they were supposed to make the dung story modes soloable? Maybe that’s a start in the direction some of you want.

PS: Add me in game, if not busy or leaving soon, I’ll hook you up with a guild that helps orr help you myself with HoT content.

Why are people even crying over this? I’ve met some very nice people by buying SAB trib boss tokens y’day evening.

It’s nice to see people helping others out in getting what they want in the game they paid for, no issues with payment, and people seem really grateful.

I get that it turns the only non monetary valued items (trib skins) into buyable, tangible, items for more people, but its only for a few weeks of the year, and ive been waiting for 2 years for these skins!

Like the dev said, its the same as paying for boss kills in Arah or FOTM etc.

If you feel people are cheating thr system, and you don’t do the same, i’m sorry you only have yourself to blame.

It’s like playing Warrior in pvp right now, only to lose, but then complain because you didnt do the correct thing, and re-roll

Maybe not the same as the OP but I was kind of expecting morre. I’m fine with the old stuff being prresent but I feel the could of done more with HoT and ourr NEW souped-up guild halls. It’s a perfect opportunity.

Why? You’re not making a very good case. Not saying it’s a good or bad idea but if you fleshed out your idea more, maybe more people would take notice.

You beat HoT when you beat the story. The rest is to fill in the gaps and…. give you your monies worth? I don’t want to blow through the content in 1 week. If you don’t pvp at all, what’s left? That’s when I move on to another game.

I think the challenge is fine except when the targets reset. You go from one to the next to the next and then suddenly, your next target is back at the start. You waste ~10 seconds running back to where the next target is located. It would be better if targets just continued to spawn near each other, or at the very least reverse spawn.

There’s needs to be some tweeks, not nerfed to hell, but yea.

I’ve got the other pvp only/discontinued light armor one, tribal is the best imo. Yes, please bring it back. 1/2 the works already done.

I would recommend that for anyone in this game. Turn off map chat till you see it. There’s idiots spamming things about it.

It’s just sad. Therre’s some rreally sad people out there. I knew it of course. I just feel forr the person that might of just logged in to do dailies or something and BAM!

Not 100%, but sometimes I just wish bad bad things regarding some people in games.

I suck at JPs and even I can farm that thing. It’s ridiculously easy if you put the effort in. I do the thing on a freak of nature max sized Norn. If you cant do that thing 3 times in a month… C’mon… It’s easy!

The only guys I feel sorry for is if you’re disabled with one arm or something. I actually helped a guy out before with a vista that had one arm. As sad as it is, just like other games and life, if you have a disability, you won’t be able to do some things. Anet isn’t some store providing a ramp for wheelchair access. It’s a video game. They can’t really do anything for some of these people. People would lie and try to cheat through things. Hey I had the flu during Halloween and missed something, here’s my Doctor’s excuse, give me my cheevs and items please.

Realistically, Anet has some amazing support sometimes. Compared to some other companies I’ve dealt with. I’ve deleted items by accident, forged wrong kitten etc, they fixed it. This JP unfortunately they won’t and can’t change.

Winter Presense is a prestige item. It’s money + time + skill. Take away one and it’s 1/3 the item. Take gen 1 legendaries for example. Compare 2013 to now. Not so Legendary anymore.

First Halloween I wanted Ghastly shield skin. Spent a bunckittens, farmed etc, got jack kitten. Is that the way it should be? Sure they cost loads now but i’d never want them to nerf that for people who aquired them. I could buy one right now if i wanted but i prob never will due to being burned so hard with the key scam. It’s not the same.

Is it even special if every toon has one? without the money gate and JP thats what it would be.

Worry about the 10k drinks then the JP. Oh and the choir thing, it takes me days to complete a couple songs. Think freddy kruegar vs a chalkboard.

For the record, i’m willing to try and help anyone with the JP. The presents? most have trrouble with that. if there’s multipple people on the candy waiting for boxes to spawn, WAIT. Wait till you’re the only there if you have to. Take the middle route and spam space bar. Every now and then you have to jump on a diagnal one. The rest is simple and can be shown or watched in a video. Can use that same spot to catch your breath and take a brreak if arthritic. Me personally, I do better if i just keep going and go with the flow. Like a rythmn.

1)Seperate PVP skills(GW1) from the PVE versions(GW1), that way you don’t have to nerf something in pvp and it screws up something that’s fine in pve. Same with WVW.

2)Same with the effects.

a)In PVP, we can shoot each other with BBs, silly string, and microscopic confetti.

b)In PVE, we can shoot Satan’s flaming balls at LEGENDARY Dragons. Because sparklers and bottle rockets just won’t get the job done. Just don’t have it scale as much?

3)Raids?? Give squad leader ability to toggle visual effects down or something, idk.

they already had this kitten half implemented 100 years ago in GW1. the template was there. they had the same problem deciding between pve and pvp in gw1. so they made pvp-only nerfs. problem solved. money usage? i heard they’re flushing $200k down a RL mystic forge.

Thanks for the reply. Norn was a great tip, we both decided to go Norn, due to them being more nature themed. Elementalist might not be a bad idea. I do like the melee ranger pretty well, but I don’t like the idea of us getting kicked from groups for having 2 rangers in one group.

best way to avoid anything like that is join a guild of like minded people. might take a couple trial and error but it’s the best thing you can do. pugs can be ok, pugs can be you worst niightmare, just like iin other mmo.

most of the content in the game can be pugged with nearly anything orr just open world mobbed on(world bosses, events etc). if you want the all access pass to ever corner, join a decent guild and mic up, it’s so much better.

consider the races too. go norn elementalist or ranger and have her aim for ranger(if you’re ele) or dragonhunter(guardian) which uses bow.

norn because they’re more attuned to nature. sylavari are cool like that too, but norns have diff animal spirits etc.

as for pugs, two ranger may or may not be kicked(elitists) but a good guild wont care. honestly everyone ends up making multiple of everything.

i assume you’ll be working together a lot so id advise two diff classes for more variety and synergy. also even if shes a bow ranger, you’re not taking advantage of mechanics if you’re a bow war or ranger and that’s all you use. even if 100% anti melee she’ll be using staff for quick buffs/heals or sword/warhorn(swiftness/dodges), etc. if your class uses two weapon sets roll with it. note: you can spec towards 1 main weapon, but the utilities from 2nd can save the day.

as for end game it depends on how you define that. anet doesn’t. for some it’s pvp/wvw/fractals/raids/dungs etc. for some it’s story and fashion. some of the stuff mayy require a certain group composition. neat thing about that is you can make yourr own group for say… dungeons or raids through LFG feature or Guild. will it be sucessful? well, that’s the fun part.

Be cool to have a couple immortal weapon skins or go for the set. minus the $10,000 cost ofc.

•Fractals are pretty badly tutorialised, my new player experience of fractals was to enter one with no real idea of how it worked, to immediately sit through pages of abuse from the other players about how I shouldn’t be doing fractals unless I know exactly what to do. It could be worth adding in an NPC or character who more clearly explains the specific goals of each fractal on demand. It’s not really very encouraging to me to go and explore the other ones.

this even for returning players. the elitism is strong in fractals as well. i thought about making a seperate guild just for things like this, to help new players in fractals. i know there are some but still.

LFG. A lot of people group up for bosses and big events due to crashing so if they crash they can get back into the fight.

TP is less right now because hoarders are selling thier stockpiles

Yes, but how often are yyou making new characters? I’m guessing you do it all the time to farm some map completion like southsun. Should add that to your post.

other than that, who cares? there’s many other things that should be prioritized.

Just scimmed through the article. I like the sigil dmg vs idea regarding getting rid of them and making it slayer mastery. That’s awesome.

Also worth noting that a lot of skills in guild wars 1 were different in PVP. we even had PVE-only skills. like the luxon/kurz ones. That would be interesting. Random example: like being able to rebuild Caladbolg which would give you the option of some pve only skills. or more racial skills. just keep the crap out of wvw/pvp. Don’t nerf pve to try and make something balanced in pvp. simple.

RNG. Other day my low level rev opened 1 via a key from story or something and got a full black lion trade in ticket or w/e. the first halloween i bought 50 million keys and I got two crappy shoulder skins, no chainsaw gs or anything. RNG.

eh, i pugged it because all guildies were at work/school/playing a new nuclear apocalypse game. couple pugs in we ended up doing pretty well, got it to like 50%ish third phase

I like how no one invites unless you have full ascended. Yet I finallyy get in one of these groups, they all die before me to the mechanics and the fact they don’t have two brain cells to rub together.

Can’t get a group consistantly due to the stupid gear check.

What’s the problem? new content isn’t exactly farmable the day it’s released. there’s some event/champ/chest trains all over the place in HoT, so i have no clue what you’re going on about.

Pro Tip: if you’re having trouble with any masteries or crap like that, there’s people all over that will help you. there’s thieves that stealth you into the Balth area, mesmers that that will portal you and Teleport To Friend <- this last one being the easiest way to help people. Guest to a different place, try a different guild. Some stuff is farmable in PVP etc.

Ask in map chat if that’s the case, i couldn’t solo a champ, asked in map chat, had 10 people there in like 10 minutes.

As soon as the gw2 Heart of Thrones expansion went live this mission (Pact Assault – Point of No Return Living Story) has bugged out. When you are told to rescue people from the vine pods towards the end of the mission only two of the three are spawned. This was real unfortunate as I was getting my last achievement for the sinister amulet. Now i can’t complete the mission and therefore cant win the reward. This makes me a very sad panda. -_-

We have the same problem here. i tried everything, messing with graphics, AOEiing the area it should be, restarting etc. the third p(middle one i believe) doesn’t exist. would like to finish this before we move to exspansion, then again i heard thats buggy too….. maybe time to pvp… or play something else till tthe game isnt fubar

TOXIC GAUNTLETS CLIP MOST SHIELDS
-The spike part goes right through the front of the shield. It’s been this way

since they were released. This ruins just about all the shields I like. I’ve

waited since Toxic Gauntlets came out for this to be fixed. Now I felt like it

was time to post the problem. Please fix asap.

-This shield is way too small on my huge Norn. I noticed the shield is bigger on

other models. This isn’t a shield… In it’s current form it’s more of a buckler.

small on the forums. Love the shield. Just needs to be bigger that’s all.]

I try to tell people this and direct them to this thread on forums, but ALL IS VAIN. Maybe next time it would be a better idea to like mail everyone this info or something. I expect a lot of people to get some type of glitch from all of this. everytime it comes back up for a few minutes everyone spams it to heck.

anyone remember when all the cool kids traded matches back and forth and basically went afk for ranks? just another reason why rank does not = skill.

regardless the current format is broken. it’s also getting extremely boring doing the same ole crap. i hope they look at the recent tournies and make some new non-trollhammer match types and what not.
