Suggestions wanted: fractal currency sinks

How about including the ability to re-stat or exchange infusions with stat attributes at the cost of relics. I am of course referring to the current fractal infusions you can buy from INFUZ-5959, including Mighty, Precise, Malign, Vital, Resilient, and Healing. Correct me if I am wrong, but right now the infusions you can earn in fractals don’t allow for the option to stat-swap, even though certain special infusions, like the queen bee, moto’s, polys and so forth, do have this capability.

Right now I am sitting on enough gold, +9 infusions and fractal relics that if I wanted to gear out my main condi warrior in entirely malign infusions I could…yet I don’t. Why? The reason is because I have no guaranteed that my current build will always be optimal in the future. What if power suddenly becomes competitive again, or they make healing viable, etc. With legendary armor I can swap out my stats and retrait myself no problem, but the infusions…there is no way to change the stats on them. Whatever type of fractal infusion I settle on, I am stuck with that stat and risks the real possibility of it becoming obsolete in a future build. So instead of settling on any type of stat-attributed infusion, I instead don’t buy them and only use the regular simple agony infusions.

I want to buy these lovely stat-attributed infusions because I really like the thought of having my character completely geared to its maximum potential (even if the actual benefit is rather insignificant). But I am not such a masochist that I am willing to put forth so much expense, if a simple balance change is going to make my purchase a complete and utter waste.

Disappointed in the "new" Bloodstone Visage

Warning: High concentrations of salt-skip to tl;dr to avoid

So something interesting to note, I’ve been seeing posts saying how some people still see the old version of the skin (in all of it’s glory) while others here unfortunately have the new watered down “new” version of it.

Turns out the reason for the two conflicting accounts is due to the fact that the skin is heavily influenced by the shaders setting in the graphics option. So if you want the old version you need to set shaders to “low”. And if for some reason you want the “why-even-bother-wearing-it” new version for it, set shaders to “medium” or higher.

Of course the downside to this is that the game looks awful with low shaders.
Edit: Picture added to demonstrate difference.

TL;DR-Adjust the “shaders” under the graphics option to change how the skin looks.

Bloodstone Visage and Astral Wisp

I wanted to add my displeasure as well to the changes done to Bloodstone Visage specifically. I understand there was a poll to change it so it would no longer clip through our character’s skull. I originally supported it, but had I known what the new effect looked like I would had vocally voted against it.

The effect on charrs is basically invisible. The glow effect is so buried inside the character’s model that it might as well be hidden. What’s worse- the preview shows the old version of the skin almost as a grim reminder of how nice it once looked.

Just look at this side-by-side comparison showing the character wearing the skin ingame versus the preview window. Yes, my character IS wearing the mask ingame in that screenshot-it is NOT hidden. The glow effect is just that dull that it’s impossible to even tell it is there. I am extremely disappointed in this change.

Make Corrosive Cloud more Visable

in Necromancer

Posted by: Xanthia.7209

Xanthia.7209

I was hoping if something can be done about the visuals for the necromancer’s utility skill Corrosive Poison Cloud so that it can be more easily seen during large fights. Against all the super-flashy-exploding particle effects, the ability is practically invisible as the simple light green outline just blends in with all the other aoes being put down. This can become very problematic in fights where you would want to coordinate with the rest of your party in order to spread out your reflects/absorbs so that they do not overlap with each other.

Take Slothasor’s fight for example. If a guardian puts down Wall of Reflect or a mesmer uses Feedback, it is very easy to recognize them among all the chaos. But God help me, trying to spot Corrosive Poison Cloud against that mess is practically impossible. It’s a tiny green outline…against a puke green floor. I am not color blind but geeeze-you couldn’t pick another color? I get it, green=poison in this universe, but in this case it works very poorly.

My suggestion-go the lazy route and just turn it into a green Feedback. At least then the “dome” shape will be easier to spot and more visually accurate to the area that the skill covers.

Workshop Restoration 2 Visual Bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Xanthia.7209

Xanthia.7209

The scribe station in the Gilded Hallow has an odd quirk where it will load the “broken down” model of the building despite having already purchased the Workshop Restoration 2 upgrade. When first entering the guild hall the game will properly load the fully built scribe station. However after walking a fair distance away from the scribe station (say to the back of the guild hall near Waterfall Plaza Waypoint)the scribe station will appear broken down and in shambles. The only way to fix this is by existing and reentering the guild hall.

This is only a visual bug as the scribe station is still usable even in this “broken” state-assuming you can find it under all the fake rubble. Attached below is a picture showing the visual glitch. The first picture displaying the scribe station properly on how it should look, and the second picture showing the bug itself.

Don’t worry about it, I already have it here. I bookmarked it (plus other 3rd party sources) in case someone randomly wanted to suggest that the 2000 cap limit thing was entirely made up by the player base. I know, crazy idea but that is what popped into my head so I went ahead and gathered some stuff. I didn’t really end up using it though.

Guild Hall Decorations limit is not 2k.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Xanthia.7209

Xanthia.7209

@Baamoink I am simply informing you that when I checked the count for how many decorations where actually placed in the guildhall (Gilded Hallow) it came up with exactly 994 and no more. I had to do the count on two separate occasions (one on discovery and another for testing purposes). There really isn’t anything more I can say about that…it is what it is. Honestly though, this really isn’t the point I wanted to focus on.

I do want to discuss that there is discrepancy between what is being stated as the actual intended cap for decorations. Two say it is 2000. One says it is 1000. They are both recent statements that were made by official employees of Anet. I am just pointing out the conflicting statement and hoping someone here (an employee with the codes in front of them) can recheck and confirm what it is. I am pretty sure that is a reasonable request.

I get it, some of you are going to say “They did just say it is 1000! Look! Right there!” But as I said, in the emails I had, two (or one with different names?) employee(s) said otherwise to me recently, and even stated they “investigated” that it was indeed 2000. So forgive me if I am a little confused. I mean you are assuming that the employees stating it was 2000 are wrong. So why can’t I assume the one stating 1000 is mistaken? Because people aren’t able to place more than 1000 decorations? How do we know that is not a bug? We could argue all day back and forth who we think is right….but I’d rather just wait for a higher up to drop in and lay it down. That is why I am asking.

I am not accusing anyone of making false claims, and I am not screaming for someone to get fire over a mistake. Relax. I am just pointing out there is a difference in what was said… and I would like to be clarified on what the actual official statement is on this matter. If it turns out it really is coded at 1000…okay that is it then. Then we can move on to the next step (rallying for them to increase it! wink wink ).

Oh and ummm if it is 1000 you(Anet employee) might want to consider letting someone at your support team know. I think it will help them. I could do it but I am not really getting paid to be their messenger. XD Or don’t….I guess it doesn’t really matter. shrugs Who knows!

Guild Hall Decorations limit is not 2k.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Xanthia.7209

Xanthia.7209

The maximum number of decorations is 1000.

Well I hate to point this out….but that is not what I was told. I was told by two GMs literally two-three days ago in an email that the limit is still 2000.

This was the reply I got when asked if the limit was still 2000 and why it was that my guild had reached the limit at 994 decorations placed.

“I did some investigation into this issue for you. From what I was able to uncover is that yes there is a limit of 2000 items to be used in a Guild Hall, however, from what I’ve read there is a limit in each area of the Guild Hall. So for the specific area you are placing items down the limit could be 994 as you’ve stated. I know some other players have stated certain rooms they can only place so much furniture before they reach a cap for that specific area.

I hope this info helps clear up the issue a bit more. I know it’s a bummer to hit a cap, but maybe if a lot of folks voice their concern maybe in the future something could change. Let me know if there is anything else we can help you with.

Regards,

GM Axxarel
Guild Wars 2 Support Team"

After this I pointed out why their theory about the cap limit being 994 due to “specific areas” didn’t make sense and was unlikely to be the problem (which I won’t repost here – look to link at bottom for details). I then ask them if the 2000 decoration cap was locked behind the Further Exploration Upgrade:

“That might be the case here. I would say the jumping puzzle might have had too many pieces to it. If you don’t mind, could you tell us if the cap increases after upgrading? It is logical that the development team would make the limit size upgradeable. I’m pretty sure its suppose to go by the size per small room, to add up to the limit of 2000. Let us know when you have more information though, Please.

Regards,

GM ShugaPuff
Guild Wars 2 Support Team"

In both cases I was told that the cap limit was indeed, factually 2000. So why the two different answers now? If you want I still have the entire email chain. I be more than happy to forward it to you to see what we’ve discussed thus far, just pm an address to send it to.

Better yet, I’ll just leave this here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Decoration-Limit-is-not-2000-it-is-994/first#post5903807
Happy reading.

Oh and 994=/1000. I don’t care it only 6 off. It still not 1000. And yes… I have checked on two separate occasions on two separate days. It is still 994. No, I am not checking a third time- I have a headache and I am going to go rest my head now.

Decoration Limit is not 2000, it is 994

@reapex We at at level 40 but have not unlocked Further Exploration yet. We are close to unlocking we just need the 777 exotic essence of luck first. I will let you know if anything changes once we get the upgrade.

@ Illconceived Was Na I tried as you suggested and I am sad to report as far as I can tell all the decorations we have access to have the same count value (as in they only count as 1). Since I had tore down the jp I made from before to make room, I had to place the crates down again to help get us back to the cap (which btw is still 994, it hasn’t change since last time).
Once I had re-establish the 994 cap, I removed one of the basic crates (to free up 1 slot) and replaced it with a complicated decoration. I tested a variety of complicated decorations from Fun Balloon Bundle, to Charr Statue, to Fancy Round Table (etc). Again and again it would place the 994th decoration just fine. But never, ever a 995th no matter what decoration type I tried ( basic, complicated, festival, rewards etc).

And yea for the sake of it I also retested it again except removing 2 crates this time(so 2 slots free) and still no difference. Once 994 were placed , no matter what kind of decoration it was or combinations of decorations placed, no more would go down past this cap limit.

Decoration Limit is not 2000, it is 994

Xanthia.7209

The problem with this theory is that the numbers still wouldn’t add up anywhere near to the stated 2000 limit. Now keep in mind, some stuff has changed in the past few days since discovering the problem, and in that time we have acquired more upgraded decorations since then. But even after counting how many upgraded decorations we currently have placed down, the count only comes up to 45. Yea I know, interestingly enough we don’t actually have that many upgraded decorations yet, most of it is just basic. So even if they are counting three times as much it still would only be 135 decorations. Add that amount to the basic decorations we have and you are still not even remotely close to 2000.

The only way I can see this being possible is if some random decoration is just counting three, four, fives times as much for no apparent reason other than it is. But I have neither the time nor the money to test the hundreds of decoration options that are available one at a time. If someone wants to buy 2000 crates, chairs, and tables though and test them all out to see if they are counting as 1 or more decorations…all the power to you!

Decoration Limit is not 2000, it is 994

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Xanthia.7209

Xanthia.7209

Hiya! So if you want the short version of it here it is:

After my guild had placed exactly 994 decorations throughout the Gilded Hallow, it was discovered no more could be placed anywhere else. It would appear that we had reach the cap limit for placing decorations, and attempting to place anymore would result in the item failing to be placed and instead remain in storage. After doing some research and talking heavily with support, it was stated multiple times that the cap limit is suppose to be 2000, and that the reason why we are stopping only at 994 remains a mystery (lots of theories, but no solid answer). I was advised to make this post by support in hopes that a) another guild who has had this problem occurred and figured out a work around could hopefully provide a solution to my problem and b) the development team responsible for the guildhall/decoration system might stumble upon this thread and know that there is a problem. From what I gathered speaking with support, the people there don’t know how the system works, so my guess is as good as theirs on what the problem is.
——————————————————————————

Okay. Now here is the longer version for those of you who want more details on the problem itself, what was done and what was said between me and support thus far (get some popcorn).

Last Sunday my guild had successfully unlocked the Decoration Merchant 3 upgrade and proceeded to “pretty up” our guildhall (Gilded Hallow) with the new furniture options. It was after attempting to place a well at my “claimed area” that I discovered I could no longer place anymore decorations. My character would do the animation as if attempting to place the decoration down, the “booming” noise would trigger, but the selected piece of furniture would never be placed but instead remain in storage.

Since it never gave me any error or any indication stating why the decorations could not be placed, I assumed I was bugged and re-logged. However, this did not fix the problem, as upon retrying to place the decorations once more still resulted in failure. I then attempted to place decorations at various areas around the guildhall to see if I could and discovered that I could not. Curious, I finally went and removed 1 of our decorations that had already been placed on the floor, selected a different one from storage, and was able to successfully place it down.

It appeared that after placing exactly 994 decorations spread throughout the guildhall, that the game refused to allow us to place anymore. This was also confirmed by another guildie the next day when they too attempted and failed to place anymore decorations down. Disheartened, I submitted a ticket to support detailing the issuing as best as I could. While I waited for support to reply, I made the decision to tear down a rather long jumping puzzle I had made (116 crates plus more!) so that other guildies could once again continue to build.

Eventually I heard back from support. They confirmed with me that the cap limit for decorations was set at 2000, and suggested that the reason we could not place anymore past 994 was because “certain areas” of the guild hall were capped at a smaller limit. I told them that didn’t make any sense and was impossible because the jumping puzzle I had tore down was located at the Northwest most part of the guildhall. It was built way above and stretched to the very top most part of our guildhall. Meanwhile, “my place” which I had been attempting to decorate at the time when I discovered the issue is located on the exact opposite end of the guildhall. My area is near the mine, on the Southeastern most part of the map. And yet, upon deleting the jumping puzzle I was able to successfully place decorations down at my desired location. The two locations could not be farther apart both vertically and horizontally if you tried. So this “area limit” wouldn’t make sense…unless you count the entire guildhall as 1 area…which means that cap it set to 994…not 2000.

I feel I should mention at this point that there is no argument to what the cap limit is suppose to be. There are various sources, including a video available on Anet’s website stating that the cap limit is set at 2000. In case someone here wants to suggest that the video is “outdated”, I also have an email reply here from support stating word for word “From what I was able to uncover is that yes there is a limit of 2000 items to be used in a Guild Hall.” That was received at 1/5/2016 at 9:40 AM est. So the argument that it was silently nerfed from 2000 to 994 is out.

So after seeing how support’s first explanation seemed implausible, I then suggested that maybe the reason for the smaller cap was due to the fact that our guild had not yet acquired the Further Exploration upgrade. Since we don’t “officially” have the second-half of the guildhall unlocked, maybe that is why we hitting the cap limit halfway. Support neither confirmed or deny this possibility. They simply said that it could be possible that the development team responsible for the system could had made it so that the cap limit was upgradeable. Word for word: “It is logical that the development team would make the limit size upgradeable. I’m pretty sure its suppose to go by the size per small room, to add up to the limit of 2000. Let us know when you have more information though, Please.

Now I have already informed them that I will contact them once we have the Further Exploration upgrade unlocked and test to see if the limit increases. The only problem is time. Last I checked the only thing that we are missing is the 777 exotic essence of luck in order to purchase the upgrade. I’ve asked them if there was an alternative way I could contact them as I am pretty sure tickets close automatically after a few days of inactivity. I also requested if it was possible for them to contact the development team in charge of the system and ask them directly if the limit cap is affected by the Further Exploration upgrade. I explained that I understand if they are busy and that I am willing to wait to hear a response from them.

The last email I received simply stated that they will be looking into this on their end and that I should let them know if the limit increases (once we get the Further Exploration upgrade). I am instructed to also post about this on the forums, in hopes I can find additional help there.

So there you go. I will update you guys when we get the upgrade! My guild members and myself are currently busy with other projects as well, so keep in mind it might take a while.

TL;DR Decoration limit is set to 994 effectively…. not 2000. Enjoy.

What could possibly take down a giant ship

in Living World

Posted by: Xanthia.7209

Xanthia.7209

Examining the video again, we can clearly see that some sort of an “explosion” was detonated somewhere within the ship itself. Combine this with Taimi’s earlier observation that there was some sort of strange power reading coming from the baskets that were placed nearby, we can deduce that the explosion was hidden inside these very same baskets. Since these baskets in question were rather small, it would mean the source of this explosion would have to be “miniature” in size in order to fit, while still being extremely volatile to do the damage it did. Then we must consider that the ship that was destroyed, the Zephyerite airship, was made almost entirely out of bamboo….

So, we can agree that whatever it was had to be extremely small in order for it to remain hidden – while also being extremely powerful to ensure maximum damage to the bamboo structure of the airship. With these clues together, I believe the answer becomes painfully obvious.

The enemy is employing the use of Combustible Mini Pandas.

Marjory eat your heart out at my deductions!
