I’ve heard blackgate has some decent roamers. I’m hoping that turns out to be true.
The rumors are true. Opp and Riot guild specially have some great solo and small group roamers. I don’t like to represent any guild when I roam but be careful of a bumblebee Asura Ele you might encounter.

no Heidia is probably the best roaming Ele on blackgate. It’s incredible to watch.
Meanwhile, TC, Magumma and SoS are saying “we don’t get any easy weeks. Our ability to care? non-existant”
The difference is that BG and SoR both have a legitimate shot to take down JQ if things play right. The fact that Jade Quarry HAS to get third at least one time while being the top server in terms of coverage, just to have a chance at getting 2nd place instead of first is absolutely astonishing.
This is gross and really kills my desire to even try.
Heres is the proof asked for before on the Anet dev attempting to stop a GvG. Please discuss Tier 1 and 2 servers
What’s there to discuss? A few months back there was a commander on Blackgate with an Anet tag that purposely lost us Stonemist on a reset night, declared ‘my work here is done’ and promptly logged out. One person with that symbol does not reflect how the company as a whole operates.
EDIT: It also does not mean they are a developer. Just an ArenaNET employee.
[FA] is an NA based guild on Blackgate, focused around WvW. While we are a World vs. World centric guild, we sometimes have our carebear moments. As of now, the most we realistically field at any time is around 7 players. On good nights we’ll get 10-14. We’re a tight knit group, but we are looking to expand. We run weekly guild missions and organized World vs. World events. We sometimes role-play baby quaggans. It just kind of happens.
What we are looking for:
Players dedicated to world vs. world. You do not have to be hardcore or incredibly experienced. We are willing to work with people.
A sense of humor is pretty much required. We joke around A LOT and enjoy making fun of each other. A lot of our conversations are NSFW.
As of now we are not looking for any specific class.
Use of TS3.
Players with patience. As we are still in a rebuilding process, expansion and improvement is expected to be slow. We are actively working on improving our game play as a group, and people dedicated and accepting of this are appreciated.
While several members of the guild do have commander tags, commanders that are not shy to tag up will be welcomed. Some of us are self conscious.
Wait, SoR has another EU guild? That’s almost as funny as BG talking about they have no EU coverage.
I hate winning team joiners.
BG only has a small group of MERC that stay awake (10-15), RK (10-20), and then HB on a night or two. (15-30 themselves, but Smokee and Orc draw tons of pugs to their tags).
It’s really not that large of coverage in comparison to what SoR has.
I’m going to interrupt all of this pointless bickering and say one thing:
Last night was a lot of fun on BGBL during NA. Fighting the FEAR and HL zergs from SoR was a ton of fun (and really scary when they grouped up…), and the fights in Hills were epic.
Ppt is a stupid concept. It’s fights like these that keep me playing the game.
XF was in the process of transferring over for the last week of that match up. As far as I know, they were mostly transferred over when the server status dropped to very high. So, in fairness, we had part of a guild join.
Most in JQ are fine with the turn of the tide. Some are taking a break and enjoying some PvE new content. The remaining in WvW are just making do with what numbers they have.
But with the numbers already on BG’s side, do some still need to resort to spying, deliberately sabotaging sieges and crapping on map chat?
That can’t possibly be someone from BG. I mean, we do have our fair share of characters but nobody is THAT dumb.
Majority of our players dont do pve. Also we are starting to get worried about our rating as BG are about to go above us (Ahh what are Anet thinking), which means we may well get another one sided match up next week.
The new system is messed up considering that a sever can outrank another from rating outside of a direct confrontation. Any competitive ranking needs to be transparent and should never be based on gambling. The random roll can favour a server or another rating outcome based on the matchups. regardless of the true server strength. There is no way to verify the random roll and there is no 3rd party involved to predict and verify the results. It seems that Millenium site also waiting for ANet to provide the random roll (through the API or leaderboards) before the end of the matchup so they would then be able to predict next matchups.
That could happen in the old system as well.
It never happened within the same tier, for example in the old system you had to defeat the number 1 server to take it’s place at least 1 time. Same for 2nd and 3rd place and same for every tier.
This is incorrect. If I’m remembering correctly, SoR made it’s debut at #2 in Tier 1, jumping from green in Tier 2. The outcome of the Tier 1 match did not matter.
We were leading the PPT last night NA Prime time during the five minutes that I was on. Therefore, JQ is the best NA Prime time server when it’s most competative.
And not just last night, but another night as well.
And on weekends, when I’m on, we dominate NA Prime. At least when I’m on.
I don’t care about anything else.
Except that even when we’re not dominating the PPT, we are doing more with less than any other server. That’s winning. Not PPT. Except when we have the PPT lead. Then, that’s winning too.
Basically what it comes down to is when I’m on, the other servers can’t match us player for player skill wise. Zerg all you want, other servers, but that’s not skill! Skill is what we do. Learn it and then maybe you can compete with the best!

Score update! I forgot to include the PPTs…but Blackgate is sitting around +380. JQ and SoR have been flip-flopping for 2nd and 3rd.
We had all of JQBL Red about a half hour ago. I was glad to see SoR fielding a reasonable sized force this morning, it made fights much much more interesting. Here’s hoping you guys pull more coverage!

Same! There were a few times I’d see a commander icon on the map in the middle of the Kaineng zerg and wonder if it was a glitch or if there was actually fighting going on 15 feet from my face that I just couldn’t see.
Everybody who joined in the adventure that was following MinBryn (Our 5 year old commander) in EBG tonight, we thank you! We’ve been told she had a ton of fun!

Everything I heard mentioned BG having pretty good 24/7 coverage – is that not true? I know the numbers are a bit skewed this week due to the lunar New Year, but later in the week that should balance out some.
Great week so far, here’s to hoping that internal Kaineng drama doesn’t skew our awesome matchup thread and the fantastic atmosphere TC and BG have shared with us.
We only really have one or two active guilds (that are mostly casual afaik) during Oceanic. That’s our weak point. Once SEA gets on we go back to full force.

On another note:
We tried to queue RET into FABL, but we think it was bugged. We got in there… there was basically nobody around. We found maybe 10 people total, and when we queued RET up, thinking we’d get at least half—we got 5.
So unless they was in the JP or something, there was something screwy with the queues today.
Yeah, I had been queued for FABL for an hour tonight when I decided to switch to TCBL. Got into TC really fast. I think something was up with that map.
I give you a 4 out of 5 for that backhanded complement. Keep up the good work.
base from my personal opinion, JQ fights harder than SoS but don’t have the proper coverage. So i’ll say you need to grab that spot from SoS. They do not deserve it.
I wonder if you’ll be saying that in a few days. JQ will push for first. They have the proper coverage, I promise.
I have an unbelievable amount of footage from this weekend’s brawls.
This video is KnT/BG vs. RET/FA in our attack on BG-held Bay in the TC BL (So closer to our spawn). We knew that we’d have to defeat KnT to take the keep—and every time we did we had to push our advantage HARD to get those walls down before they could rally to defend it. Nevertheless, we got 3 engagements over the course of the siege.
I included, also, all the footage of KnT wiping us as well to keep it as unbiased as possible (as close to a battle-report as I could manage). But keep in mind that we fought KnT half a dozen times after-the-fact with mixed success.
GREAT fights, and I hope nobody misconstrues this as a troll. I have nothing but the utmost respect for KnT after these many engagements.
I enjoyed that video! I was rolling with the KnT crew while in TS3 with them, so hearing your communications and seeing your side of the battle was a lot of fun. We were impressed by how much damage you guys seemed to be putting out. Great fights! The BG/TC/FA fights that happened in Bay a little bit later were hilarious.
That’s great. I already reported 4-5 people for slander/libel/defamation of character. Usually I wouldn’t bother except my closing argument that would have made all right was infracted so now I have to take what should be unnecessary measures for the sake of justice and preserving the innocence of the uneducated. But besides the point me cracking you up is out of context with BG/TC/FA. If you wish to libel me make another thread to do so. It will make reporting you more convenient for me.

Why would a server with 350+ people go to a server that already has full queue times? I’m confused.
I’d push either Blackgate, or TC for more potential transfers. I love you toasties. Unfortunately, it’s looking like we’ll have to fight you again soon.
I am currently in a small, but very active WvW guild. I am hoping to bring about 10 people to a server in a competitive bracket with very little wait on maps. We are currently on a server which has picked up alot of people and the ability to play with friends has become a challenge. We typically play between the hours of 10pm and 5am. Any input is appreciated.
Blackgate would love to have you. Though we’re a Tier 1 server, our queue times are only really existent on reset nights. Many of the guilds on our server are smaller, but we have consistent communication between all of the maps. When we’re able to field equal numbers, the ppt between all of the servers here are incredibly close, and the matchup has provided some of the best fights i’ve ever been a part of. I’m curious as to which time zone you’re in, though. 10pm to 5am can mean a lot of things!
