Would be better if Anet comes up with a list of topics they are comfortable discussing about and then have the community pick.

I feel like all these improvements should’ve been implemented awhile back with the Feature Update..
Really excited for the upcoming patch.
But I must say, judging from the picture I honestly think the Guild Back Banner looks very awkward. It resembles something like a Japanese Sashimono (which is great – something I would look forward to), except its been redesigned to become a short mini version with less aggressiveness and at the same time doesn’t seem to fit in well with the GW2 art theme.
I think the idea of it is great, but just not very fond of the design. Very much happy to see that something is being released in place of the capes clipping issues, and also anticipating that this back banner will become something more.
We’re currently investigating what caused this change, so I don’t have more information at the moment, but I can assure you that we are looking into this.
Thank you for your patience!
Thank goodness it’s not intentional. Thanks for letting us know!
I was at 4/5 and also got resetted. Of course, the dailies always reset at the same time (4PM Pacific from where I’m at).
Thing is, it was very unjustified and upsetting that people have only a few hours to complete their dailies. The frustrating part is that we have lag and server disconnects involved. Though it’s perfectly understandable, problems like this happens all the time.
But then what about the people lucky enough to complete their dailies?
I was minutes away from completion, when… Boom — reset.
Sigh.
/end rant
Spirit Links just looks… pathetic.

1) Why everyone dodges at phase1 even when grub is clearly targeted at someone?
2) Why dodge backwards?
3) Why get hit by kick?
4) Why did Lupicus get grub?
5) Why warriors have no banners, “On My Mark!” etc?
6) Why did you tank life-steal (like run forward to go faster)?
- Try to figure out who gets bubbles and have everyone else stay behind.
Fix these things and then record it.
They killed Lupicus in 2 mins 20 seconds – that is why.
The damage of Mind Stab is pretty low to use as a DPS source. However, it’s great for removing a boon from Bosses; you can take away a whole stack of Might in one move — it can help your party to a certain extent.
Other than that, well… I gotta admit it’s not the bests skill to have =\
I went into Heart of the Mists earlier this morning to test my theory, and like many of you have stated, Power does influence the amount of Critical Damage.
Thanks for all the help and replies! Cheers.
Power has no influence over the Crit Damage stat. Crit Damage is its own stat. Power determines how hard your original hit (non-crit) would hit.
Precision has no influence over the Crit Damage stat, either. It controls how often you crit, or Crit Rate.
If you’re wondering what Power influences the end result BIG NUMBER, use the damage formulas on wiki.
Thanks! I kinda get the picture now. I was just wondering earlier because the Dueling trait line has both Precision and Critical Damage in it. I was curious if adding 20 points into power would somewhat effect my average Crit Damage.
On the wiki page, it states that “Critical hits have a base damage multiplier of 150% to the base damage of the attack.”
Which leads to..
“Base direct damage is given by the following equation:
Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)”
Any thoughts on this?

Hello all,
Just a straight forward question here (nevermind the build, just doing some experiments):
How much does Power influence Crit Damage?
Example: If I were to put 0 trait points into Power, and 30 into Precision (0-30-0-0-0), while equipped with full Berserker’s gears and using the greatsword — vs. — 20 Power and 30 Precision (20-30-0-0-0). Would there be any notable differences in terms of achieving the highest critical damage?
I’d tried using the formula on wiki, but it’s all so confusing as I don’t know which is Base Damage and such. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks!

13 minutes is a pretty long and balanced fight. If a class is really OP, then it would take far less than 1 minute. Necros are the strongest profession in the game with conditions, while Mesmers struggle with removing conditions constantly; Mesmers seem strong, but they also have plenty of weaknesses. In the end, honestly, you were just out-played.
Did any of you do another event prior to fighting dragon? It’s possible you’re hitting the DR if you completed another event beforehand.
Isn’t this game all about doing chain events and having multiple activities available and getting rewarded for it?
But if DR is hitting, then many people will skip the events… just like how there are dead zones. It’s already discouraging to get 2-3 blues and 1-2 greens from a chest after all the work.
What bothers me even more is that Infinite Light, which costs more to make than Ascended items (or even Legendaries), has only Exotic stats.
There’s something wrong here.
I’d probably be burnt out with the game after obtaining 250 Charged Lodestones.
(edited by Yozoh.8179)
There is, fractals.
Oh yes, forgot to mention that also. Thanks for reminding me.
But still, no.
Even if you can sell the lodestones you don’t need, other lodestones doesn’t cost as much as Charged lodestones, which doubles in price.
Currently, the prices for Charged Lodestones and Cores in the BLTP has skyrocketed.
(edited by Yozoh.8179)
I have to agree with everyone here. Farming these Lodestones are downright depressing. Out of the 8 total hours I spent killing Sparks and Air Elementals in Orr with full MF gear and jewelry, I managed to find 1 Lodestone.
The main dungeon it drops from, CoE, is incredibly tedious to play; Boss design is horrible and not fun to play at all. My entire guild got tired after 2 runs.
There has to be a fix or alternative ways to obtain the Lodestones, because 250 is a joke.

Agreed 100%, the description for the traits are terribly vague.
I second this.
I really appreciate that the Devs are actively working to improve GW2 combat; it is a positive thing. BUT, what I don’t understand (and also frustrating me) is how the Devs automatically chooses how we should play our weapon skills — was the rearrangement of the Guardian greatsword skills even necessary? Just because the skills have different cooldowns doesn’t mean it would also be better to rearrange them.
So please, give us the feature to rearrange our weapon skills. This will also give many competitive players the customization that they need.
On a side note:
Has anyone realize that before the 10/7 update, the Elementalist’s Fiery Greatsword Leap skill #4 was also similar to the Guardian’s greatsword Leap skill #4?
Post-update:
Ele Fiery Greatsword, Leap skill #4
Guardian greatsword, Leap skill #3
^ Now that just confuses the heck outta me whenever I wield a greatsword.

Congrats on your legendary!
Gotcha. I understand it now. Thank you all!
“Armor that is currently equipped can no longer be transmuted.”
I’m sorry, What’s the reason behind this?
It really frustrates me to hear this, since many people, including myself, like to continuously customize the way our characters look.
Not to be negative or anything, but this just puzzles me.
I really hope this means that you can still unequip the armor, transmutate it, and then put it back on. If that’s the case, then I’m completely fine with it.
What’s the community’s thoughts on this? I’m just trying to understand, and hope this is posted in the right section of the forums.
A simple answer/reply from one of the Devs would be great, also.

This is actually a Gold Selling spam. You have the option to report it in-game.
I’d love for it to be added, but it needs to be an engaging activity
Yes, I can see now why it needs to be engaging and I agree.
The world environment is nicely designed and I think fishing would fit in perfectly.
GW1 has this feature in the cash-shop, so I don’t see why GW2 wouldn’t have it in the near future. I’m confident to say that it’ll definitely be in the gem-shop sooner or later.
Many people have requested it, so you’re not the only one.
There are plenty of pants in this game. Matter of fact, medium armor actually covers you up the most. There’s only a few skirts for heavy armor, and there are many pants for light armor.
Use the transmutation stone if you don’t like the way you look. I honestly think light armor looks really nice in this game — on the other hand, medium armor I’m not too fond of, and heavy is okay..
All in all, GW2 can use some more/better design artists, because all the armors look really plain. I’m looking forward to expansions already (and new hairstyles).
One of the Devs have mentioned about this. (Can’t seem to find the link)
Just like GW1, GW2 will also have this sort of feature in future updates.
Anet gave us cooking, think that is enough, i hate fishing was the most painful thing to do in any game I played.
you want chance and gamble in catching things or alike, you got the mystic forge
True
Then again, the mystic forge requires you to sacrifice four items; it has a instant result and does not have the same concept as fishing.
Some people may find fishing boring, while others enjoy the relaxing and social aspect of it — either way, it is not mandatory for progression, so a person who finds it painful can ignore it completely.

Thanks for the support of this idea!
I wonder what ArenaNet’s opinions are on this. It’s hard to get a response from them in the suggestions thread.
the last two are maybe race specific, it can be even loted under the same catagory so it wouldnt be race specific, (horns are for charr, earpieces are sylvarie)
but thats not my beef with the idea, right now, if i created my character with a bandana and later i didnt like it (which is the deal with my ranger right now) i dont want to spend REAL CASH just to change it, i dont mind spending silver or gold to change it, but i am not spending gems to change the looks of any character no matter how i hated it later, someone should take more consideration when they make it
Since you “don’t mind spending silver or gold”…
You do realize that you can buy gems with in-game currency, right?
Sure, why not
+1
Very true.
The Trait descriptions seems very vague and lacking detail; it definitely needs a change, as Guild Wars 2 is very competitive and people like me wish to know all the little details of the build I set for my character.
hell no, i dont want change it through the BLTC, there should be a way like everything else, i dont want to waste gems just to change my Races looks
something like:
complection dyes
hairstyle magazne
face peels
eye lenses
horn styles
earpieces
etc…instead of only the dye button there should be a drop down button so you can scroll for which you want to change, if you have the required. plus like the dyes, you have basic start up kit like the dyes, and I dont mind that the start up kit would be shorted if this would be implemented.
From the BLTC : Full Make up Kit
and things like that that should be a normal drops and people can and should be able to sell it in TP
I can somewhat understand where you’re coming from, but it seems like you’re asking for too much, considering how this would impact the game; changing your character’s appearance comes with a cost. Always. GW1 had the Makeover Pack in the cash-shop, so I don’t see how it should be any different for GW2.
If you want to add/change what accessories your character is wearing, that is what Town Clothes are for. But even unique Town Clothes and accessories (such as eyeglasses) will cost you a certain amount of gems.
If you want to change your looks through loots in the game, that is what Tonics are for — and they are temporary.
Things like “horn styles” or “earpieces” shouldn’t be part of normal drops, in my opinion, as they lead the game to becoming something like “Barbie’s Makeover Adventure.” No offense.

I really want this in the game also. It’s fun to test out your new build against a friend or guild-mate and see how well your character handles a 1v1 match.
There is a similar thread on this and a response from one of the Devs:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Character-Re-Customization/first#post239347
I really hope they add this soon!

After all, Tyria is a living breathing world, so why not?
Some of the “standard features” that you may have come to regard as “essential” for forums are intrusive and easily abused by players. We prefer to have our moderation team working on moderating discussion content. We would rather have our resources focused on keeping an eye on whether people are posting in a respectful tone, whether people are being constructive with their discussions/comments, etc. rather than on spending their time moderating forum signatures, images, or disruptive uses of text.
We have disabled image-based signatures on purpose. Only text is permitted for forum signatures.
We have removed most advanced font formatting features such as changing text colors or sizes on purpose, because those features are often abused in forums.
As for images, they can be attached to your post. I understand that this is not ideal for certain purposes/edge cases, however attaching images to a forum post will work for the vast majority of forum users.
I strongly agree with Regina and in favor of keeping the forums this way also;
the simplicity keeps it easy to read, to the point, and very professional.

Yes, please add this into the gem-shop!
We need to adjust the PC chatter frequency so certain lines play less often. It’s on our to-do list.
While you’re at it, how about adding an option to disable it? No offense, I love the game, but I don’t really appreciate hearing these lines ever.
We’ve talked about either implementing a frequency slider or giving people the option to mute player chatter, but it all comes down to programming and UI resources. A few of us wanted it in for ship, but too many higher priority issues needed attention.
Yes! PLEASE add a frequency slider or the option to mute player chatter.
I’m very fed up with constantly hearing my character saying, “Is it just me, or am I amazing?”
Seriously? It just makes me go /facepalm and asking myself why my character is like this; these chatters are incredibly CHEESY.
+1 on the face-palm emote.
I have no problem with the idea of fishing as a new gathering type, however your description of it as something to do “while idle” and “never moving” is unlikely to fly with the design directions GW2 is invested in.
Good one, thanks for pointing that out. Fishing shouldn’t be designed for being idle then.
It would be nice enough for Anet to implement some form of fishing into the game, so it adds familiarity and social spots for players to gather around.
Hmm. Your best bet is the Guild Wars 2 Discussion section.
Sorry, but I don’t see what you’re suggesting or how any of this fits in the suggestions topic.
100% agree with this one. plz add fishing to the game.
(maybe even add the making of poles / reels to professions):)
Good one! I also like that idea of making poles/reels for fishing. Maybe the higher you upgrade, the better chances of you catching higher level items.
I remember Mike O’Brien mentioned somewhere that you can reset your Traits at no cost, this would allow players to change play-styles and experiment with different builds in the game; not sure if this is for PvE, or only for PvP — I really hope one of the Dev’s can clarify this.
It use to be in the main Guild Wars 2 Official website, but its been taken out now ever since the redesign.
I’ve been wondering about this also and was about to create a similar topic. This is GUILD WARS we’re talking about: we should be able to experiment with our builds, because this is what this game is all about, imo.
Sena.2761 made a good point — it was free to change your attributes in GW1 (though it use to cost), so why not incorporate that into GW2?
In GW2, you have to go to a trainer and pay 3 silver.
Sad.

+1. I support this idea.
This activity can be part of the cooking job — for people who likes to stand around and be social, they’ll be able to have something to do while they’re at it. Instead of having to harvest or hunt creatures, you can now fish! Who knows, this can also be for people who tends to be idle but wants to get something at least.
I know most people prefer to just dive down to hunt/fight the fishes, but there are also those who are more chill and likes to gamble. I remember my friends and I, out of all the possible things you can do in an MMO, we chose to do fishing just to see what random loots we’ll get.
Your Hero doesn’t always have to do the dirty job of hunting, you can be like the NPC’s and just stand on land with a whole bunch of players around fishing also.
Pros: adding new dynamics to PvE.
Cons: …any suggestions?
+1
I also really miss the freedom of choice you get from GW1; there were so many skills to choose from and so many possible builds. It was very rewarding when you’re able to come up with a good build that no one else has.
Now in GW2, it feels like the builds you run with are already pre-made, and the traits are just there to enhance or set a path for you. You might be playing a little differently because of the traits, but it is still the same skills set.
Suggestion: Have new skills available in future expansions. I would love to see that.
Benefits: Adds diversity and new dynamics to the game.
Downfall: Complications in the Esports scene..?
+1
I really like this idea. It would make the game more lively and realistic.
I’m a person that likes to play a tank/support/healer role, and there are traits/builds that allows for me to do so.
So, why can’t I play this type of style?
What if I decide not to go for DPS?
The holy trinity wasn’t technically gone, this game just allows for different types of build/play-style and being able to switch during combat to be more effective; the holy trinity isn’t necessary. Players should be encouraged to try different builds, imo. If everyone is forced to run a DPS to be successful, that just defeats the purpose of diversity in the game.
