Dodgy Crowd

Completed this instances twice with a friend. Both times I stood in different places, near, but not on a ledge, not outside of the circle as my buddy killed the boss. I was never targeted, never even had to move from my position while he fought the boss.

Both times the fight concluded and I still had the achievement icon above my utilities skills, both times the fight ended and I STILL didn’t get credit.

My buddy and I swapped, I killed the boss. He stood in the same spot as I did, at the end of the fight he got the achievement???? I’ve read in a much older post this was a bug people were reporting to have happen to them. Did this STILL not get fixed? I am tired of running this instance, especially with zero restart motes at the boss fight until I can get this figured out so my buddy and I don’t waste another hour plus doing it over and over again?!

Any help would be appreciated.

Forget outlandish requests for the return of the Crystal Desert, being able to play as a Quaggan, or a revamp of Dungeons.

All I want is for a mistake I made to be swapped around. I crafted two nightsword blades when I meant to make the second item the hilt. I’m now stuck with two blades, down 2 weeks of time gated crafting, hours in pvp and wvw for tokens, and weeks of farming ore for the deldimor steel!

Yes, I’ve submitted a ticket, but so far it’s fallen on deaf ears. The representative I got didn’t understand what I was saying and gave me the canned response that they cannot return mats for items crafted. ??? I didn’t ask for mats I just wanted one blade turned into a hilt. It costs the same thing. It’s practically the same item.

Anyway, my hopes is maybe a nice dev will see this and pass along the information. A long shot, but definitely worth it on my birthday vs starting from scratch on another 3 weeks of farming to do it all over again.

My buddy did the same. He got it replaced. IF you get the right CS agent they’ll total help. If you don’t they’ll tell you tough. I’m in a similar boat atm. First CS agent said no even though I know it’s possibly because my buddy did the same thing and got instant help. Ugh…

Last night after a week of farming ore (iron and plat) plus waiting on the time gated stuff I was able to craft the final piece of it. What am I supposed to do with this thing!?

Can you please help me reverse this accident? I’ve seen customer service reverse accidents like this in the past, heck just last week my buddy accidentally consumed a soulbound recipe on the wrong char as he was crafting his legendary and CS refunded him the recipe. Reddit is full of similar stories about mistakes being rectified by nice customer services reps. I don’t want the mats back just the item replaced with the correct item! The dang HILT!

Before I subject myself to putting down 200g for mats or farming for another week plus 15 days of time gated materials I have to try and hope someone will hear my plea and help out on the technical front! Please guys help me out! It’s my birthday tomorrow this would be a fantastic present (even more than gliding in Tyria)

Precursor Crafting PSA and suggestion

I’ve submitted a ticket. The first customer service rep didn’t understand I wasn’t asking for an exchange of my mats. When I tried to explain he simply replied my request cannot be fulfilled and any more tickets about this request will be blocked…um okay someone is having a bad day it seems. I simply am asking for a swap for one of my blades to a hilt. I’ve been with this game since Beta. This is my first legendary. I’ve been waiting for crafting a pre forever since my luck seems to suck. I’m excited. I made a mistake, but one I’ve seen in the past to be reversed hence the ticket.

That’s why I bothered submitting a ticket in the first place instead of sucking it up and starting the grind all over again. I re-submitted a new ticket. I’m hoping for the best. Fingers crossed.

I’m writing this as a PSA but also want to add a suggestion. Don’t make my mistake. Double check before crafting items! Weeks of farming, hours in wvw and pvp, and gold down the drain if I can’t get this reversed.

My suggestion: Items like this that only need to be crafted once to fulfill a collection should only be available to craft once. An item that cannot be used again, is account bound, and once fulfilled finishes the progression shouldn’t be available as an option to accidentally craft. There are plenty of places where once an item is fulfilled you can’t craft or access it again, it should be like this as well, or a vendor that can swap the items if you make a mistake (such as vendor that changes soulbound node equip to account). The item pieces costs the exact same so an even swap vendor (much like using karma to replace a missing deleted item) makes perfect sense.

Anyway thanks for listening to my rant.

I don’t WvW too often but I PvE often. I was looking at running Tap Dat Mouse’s Legendary Guardian Build for PvE/WvW which has 3 piece of Knights, 3 pieces of Zerker. It runs 4 out of 6 accessories as Zerker and the rest Knights. Thoughts on this?

Meta dungeon build uses Zerker across the board. Is Knights basically only good to help with WvW and pretty much useless in PvE?

Should I simply get full Zerker for PvE and then a few pieces of Knights for when I do WvW or should I run that 75/25 Zerker/Knight for both WvW and PvE?

Match Making

I’m a bit confused on match making. I play mostly unranked. I’m fairly new to PvP. Lately, specifically yesterday, almost every match I played in it was a PUG vs freakin’ pre-made teams?

I do not understand the functioning or balance of this? I thought I read if you were teamed you were supposed to be matched up against other people who are playing teams? So if 3 buddies were joining the match making system would give them 2 solo players to fill out their team and try to find another team of 2-3 + 2-3 puggers so it wouldn’t be unbalanced. I find a half team far less of a concern than full 5 man teams.

Why is a full PUG getting teamed up against a full team? Why the hell are full teams queuing up for this? Just to beat the snot out of players trying to learn? It’s not fun, it’s not fair, and a complete waste of time. With the mark of desertion you’re basically forced to get murdered if you want to have any chance at any sort of xp.

Are there plans to fix this because it clearly seems like a broken aspect of PvP?!

Ascended Colors

I’m just returning after a long hiatus. I’ve noticed that with the new wardrobe unlock certain items, like fused gauntlets, etc unlock all versions when used (light, medium, heavy). I was curious if they did something like this but for color with Ascended Weapons? Or did they happen to change the mold where when you build the color and craft you then pick the stats you want from the drop down before equiping like so many items you get from the personal story, etc?

Like many of you I love the aspect of creating a matching, aesthetically pleasing (to me) character. It’s really a bugger to build a weapon with the stats I like but a color I hate.

If they haven’t, why?! This seems so simple a change considered the removal and changes of some stats to the game, the addition of items dropping that you can choose your stats from, etc. It would give everyone in the community a little better option vs creating a second ascended piece (which is ridiculously expensive) just for a skin or simply reskinning their ascended which I think 98% of people currently due which is a shame because I think some of the ascended weapons have a cool look.

I’d highly recommend check out the aesthetics for each race/class using sites like
either dulfy or argos soft. That can really influence which race/class combo you choose.

As said above racial skills make almost zero difference in any class at least end game. There are a few skills that are useful for leveling. The personal story is quite different for each race and I ‘d highly recommend make one of each race just to experience at least the first 1/3 of the personal story line. I’d also recommend making at least 3 characters so during the 2/3 of the story line you can experience each of the 3 different factions you can join (Vigil, Whispers, Priory). This’ll also give you access to buying skins from all the factions for your wardrobe. The last 3rd is pretty similar regardless of race imo.

The final and probably least important aspect is jump puzzles. Each race has a different character box and jump style so getting used to that can be a challenge. Larger characters like Norn have the easiest time with jumping. Charr, while they have the same box size their jump is different and takes some getting used to.

Personal opinion I loved both the Charr and Norn storyline best. I loved the Norn and Sylvari starting area but the Sylvari were/are my least fav in terms of personal storyline. Human was good and I’ve got 2 human characters just to see the difference between the noble storyline and the gutter rat. I also have one Asura which was also interesting and I’m tempted to make another of the lil guys but I’ll need to purchase another character slot. LoL

I love the idea of paying for each individual mission for those who were able to sign in and get a few here and there, however, I only unlocked the very first and the very last of Season 2. Has there been any mention if Season 2 will be released as a bundle in the gem store vs individual unlocking?

I’ve been absent since about the end of Season 1, right before Lion’s Arch was destroyed. I just got bored with the LS and sick of grinding for ascended weapons to craft for each individual toon.

A lot has obviously changed since then and the prospect of very cool things from the expansion, like scavenger hunts (which was mentioned like 2 years ago) finally coming to fruition has got me interested.

I’ve got almost every character. My mains before I left were a warrior and mesmer. I also had a Necro at 80 and a Thief at 75. I play a lot of PvE (dungeons, world bosses) but I also love to zerg and roam in WvW. Not a fan of PvP though.

What are classes looking like these days? I’ve browsed around and obviously opinions vary. It seems as though Ele’s are top of the pack, Warriors are still strong, Mes and Necros are still very situational, Eng and Ranger finally got buffed, and Thieves are still towards the top but obviously again situational/single target vs general all around best in class.

So I have no qualms with finishing leveling a new toon or even having a split main between PvE and WvW toon. What would you suggest as a fun well balanced class these days?

Thanks for the suggestions all. I’ve played plenty of MMO’s in the past. I know sooner or later there are down points where we all take a break. I did the same with WoW before the 2nd expansion came out, same with GW1 before EotN. However, the difference is within barely a year people are hard line dropping out of the game because there is simply nothing to do.

@pdg don’t troll. This is A-Net’s problem, and a very serious problem at that. It’s community wide complaint that is growing larger daily and A-Net isn’t seeing it. Instead they’re continuing on this LS kick which most people could care less about. It’s mildly entertaining at best and the releases contain so little the new content is old before the release of the next content.

Other than WvW there is little to nothing to do. WvW requires you to be on a good server otherwise it’s incredibly frustrating. My entire guild moved because of this issue originally. I’m now on a fairly competitive server so I have some fun, but running with the zerg or roaming is only fun for so long. PvE, which is the largest portion of GW2 is dead for end game. It has been reduce to the same repetitive daily routine give or take what is going on with LS. Do dailies, hit some of monthly, run Cof and AC to make some gold, and then champ train or node farm for crafting ascended/legendary items which is the only thing to shoot for as level 80.

I have 4 level 80’s but I don’t consider myself hard core. Only 2 of them are truly close 100% geared up and I still don’t have a legendary even though I have enough mats to make two. Why? Because no Pre has ever dropped for me. I do not want to grind for months to make 500-800g. That is boring as crap to me. I refuse to pay for gems to buy gold. And this isn’t D3 I don’t want to “play” the AH to make gold. I want to play GW2 naturally and make money without repeating the same 3 things over and over and over again.

I think the biggest problem I have is things like dungeons and fractals have such potential to keep everyone interested if the paths were fixed. Since leveling scales unlike WoW this means hitting a low level dungeons doesn’t mean you’ll simply roll it even if you’re 100% geared. There are 8 dungeons and barely half of them are used. As I said before zones like Orr that could be a full on war are wasted. A-Net has pigeon-holed the entire game into doing 1 or 2 things which has gotten boring really fast.

Earlier this year (during the pirate, dragon, and wind events for living story) I stopped playing. The semi-permanent grind release monthlies got old. Especially for nothing but AP, a backpiece skin, a mini or another lackluster reward. I came back when the talk of the new content that would be released every 2 weeks would be permanent and have everlasting effects on the world. I’ve been playing since but I find myself just as bored.

There is a serious lack of anything to do but grind for a legendary as level 80. With many dungeons still broken and unplayable most of the community only runs a very specific few dungeons that are the most rewarding/quickest. There are no new fractals so running that gets boring after awhile. DR has completely killed Orr. This and SSC could’ve been two of the coolest areas. Constant battles. Constant war. These are the only two level 80+ zones but because of such horrible DR the zones are empty and relatively unused except for temple runs. The new TA path is great, but how many releases have we had and how long have we been promised dungeons would be revamped and fixed and nothing? I would’ve much rather seen a complete revamp to a dungeon(s) than 1 single new path. AC has stood alone as the only dungeon revamped. Since the revamp people do it constantly! Yet A-Net doesn’t bother to look at this. Scarlet attacks randomly ever few hours which no one bothers with, and then there’s the reworking of Teq. Broken with the mass majority of players who don’t even bother.

With so much lore and so many zones unopen from Crystal Desert, Ring of Fire, Greater Shiverpeak Mountains. Magumma Wastelands, etc why haven’t we seen a large scale opening of one of these areas with 2-3 new zones featuring either tons of new dynamic events (like SSC) or renown? Sadly with DR breaking dynamics I feel releasing any new zone until that is fixed will simply result in people checking out the new area for a month and then walking away.

Is anyone else just tired of the content being released? Does anyone else feel it’s simply regurgitated over and over with very little to actually do? Sure the artwork and thought is there and it’s beautiful but still lacking in content. The mass majority of people finish the achievement portion in 2-3 days?! One good 2-3 hour session and you can grind out most of the ap for every single release. Would anyone else finally like to see them NOT put something out for a month or two except with fixing bugs, balancing skills, and then release something worth wild for the community? Something not rushed, bugged out or broken only to be yanked two weeks later when something else comes in to replace it?

Nerfs and Unsatisfactory Reward System

Rewards:

1) If you take away all viable options to making reasonable ways to make money you force people to jump on bandwagon exploits. Regardless of what you do you will find some people looking to capitalize, however, you won’t find the entire community jumping at the chance to finally make some gold like you see now.

2) If I want to run around doing only dungeons or only one dungeon for the time I play I should be allowed. If the game is catered to the casual player why are you forcing the casual player to only do the thing they love once or twice before it cannot be done anymore without reward? I understand you don’t want areas to be like Queensdale champ train, however, if the rewards are opened up and more balanced you will find the community spread out vs only in the area that gives the best cash.

3) The amount of grind vs reward is broken. This is a very similar issue D3 had and I see GW2 falling into the same category. Currently the game that supposedly caters to the “casual” isn’t catering to the casual. It is catering to the elite who spends hours grinding daily and go ahead with where A-Net has pigeon holed them.

Does this sound familiar to you level 80’s? Sign in, do dailies while hitting any World Bosses that spawn, hit AC and CoF for some gold and tokens, finish with champ training the rest of the time I’m on also while hitting any world bosses I haven’t hit. Rinse and repeat daily. Get frustrated that even with hitting all the world bosses and champ train for 2 hours and 4 dungeon paths you didn’t even get an exotic weapon and maybe only pocketed 10-12g.

The only other way to make gold has become playing the TP (another issue D3 had which broke the game). People have to play the TP to really earn good gold and purchase gems or the coolest items.

There is so much effort needed to be put in for so little reward. The whole system needs to be completely revised very similarly to the balancing issues that are being addressed, but in my opinion balancing characters won’t fix a game when rewards, dungeons, bosses, areas are broken still. Why are new things being introduced when old things still sit broken? Things that are the bread and butter of the game like dungeons or world events? Things that were released over a year ago still sit broken where no once can use them meanwhile new “living story” content rolls out to placate us and stroke our interested for a week or two.

Also champ bags were introduced so that chests in dungeons would no longer drop gold but killing the champs inside the dungeon would make up for it. This would make people not simply skip minor bosses like champs but have incentives to play through the whole dungeon. I’m guessing the champ bag gold/dust nerf is generic not specific in-world vs dungeon, so now you’ve almost completely eliminated gaining gold from dungeons other than selling items that drop and the gold for completing the dungeon path the first time through.

4) True rewards. Where is our dungeon revamp? Where is our regularly released new paths of FotM that were promised? Where is our new level 80 zones for end game? These are true rewards vs a new backpiece, mini or personal node we can grind daily for months before we collect 10k worth of candy corn to make 1 item. Fixing content that we all want to play but can’t because it’s broken or not worth the time is a reward to the community. You want the community to spread out, to experience more of Tyria instead of focusing on 1 or 2 zones then open up the reward system don’t nerf it to death. Releasing new content to put people back in Kessex or where ever is only a temp fix until the event is done then that area is a ghost town again.

First the Nerfs:

I have a couple of issues with this regardless of how polite @JohnSmith was about the latest nerf.

1) This is the second time in recent months a HUGE change that effects economy was implemented and the excuse, “whoops we forgot to add it to the notes” was used. Why wasn’t this change alerted to the community well before the patch. You say you strive to keep the community informed yet in back to back months this has happened.

People have been storing Champ Bags, like Karma in their banks. While I personally didn’t do this and don’t understand those that have it was not right for a major nerf to effect previously gained rewards. No different than karma. The community deserves a head’s up when these sorts of changes come to allow those that have collected things before the patch for them to correct give the rewards.

2) A-Net you strive to say you want a friendly environment that doesn’t require grinding yet the continuous nerfs that narrow how rewards and gold are received is making it worse and worse.

Everything from Living Story, to building a legendary, dungeon skins, ascended crafting gem story purchases with gold vs real money, etc requires a high level of grinding for many days/weeks/months.

Before the champ train people used to farm dynamic events and dungeons. The community was split doing a mix of both along with hitting World Bosses when they spawned. The community was much more active and spread out. While only a few select dungeons were used this was because of broken mechanics (which you promised AGES ago to revamp ALL dungeons like AC to make them worth the effort).

DR changed everything. DR hit so hard that now all of the Orr area is a ghost town other than when temple God’s spawn. The ONLY unique level 80 zone is completely useless and the very thing A-Net created (dynamic events) for end game they squashed. These zones have no renown. Dynamic events are meant to be repeated and done all over running all over the zone fighting Orrian undead winning back contested areas. It’s SUPPOSED to be an endless war of back and forth just like WvWvW. You drove everyone away from this!

What was/is the purpose of Cursed Shores and SSC now? You have hit dynamic events with such hard DR you can only hit the same event once or twice before hitting nasty DR where no one wants to even bother, and on top of this the DR doesn’t go away until a 24 hour reset and it’s account bound?! Why not just delete the zone if you don’t want us there.

I understand you had bot issues, but THIS is your answer? Have you guys even looked at Orr? Do you see that every wp that could be contested is 99.9% of the time?

3) If you pigeon hole the community as soon as an exploit presents itself EVERYONE will jump on the bandwagon to try and make a buck. You at A-Net created the champ train issue by pushing people away from other end game thing like dungeons or dynamic events. This brings me to rewards…

Still waiting for pre to drop or for mystic forge to give me a break and stop eating all my gold. Saving 700+ gold is not an option after buying the last of my T6 mats. Got everything else done but the pre…

Sucks that after playing since Beta I’ve yet to get one pre (not even from Karka event where everyone else got one it seems) or a named item drop that sells for more than 20g yet I have 4 level 80 toons geared up. Sigh

Difference in crafting certain exotics...

Can anyone confirm that all recipes, so long as they are in the same tier, give the same xp for discovery?

I’ve been upping my weaponsmithing and I’m on my last 10 points. Yay! I’m obviously doing it by discovering exotic recipes, however, I’ve noticed that when I make an Apothecary exotic I seem to get far less xp than making a Berserker or Knight for example. Can anyone confirm that using the non-tradition T6 mats for exotics nets less xp (snowflakes, karka shells, halloween stuff, etc)? Did I just happen to get less xp those couple of discovers vs greater for the other perhaps? Just wanted to find out before I waste any more ori/elder wood!

Is this bug being looked at or looking to be fixed soon? So far it hasn’t even been acknowledged. It worries me that the smaller portion of the community that has been “interrupted” while channeling and can not complete this is being ignored. While I’ve already received the Living Story rewards for 14/14 I’d still like to finish this achievement and get my scroll for 5 skill points.

Like others I’ve double checked all 24 sites and every one gives me the completed dialogue however, my achievement says I’ve only visited 22/24. Likewise a few of my guildmates have reported they are stuck at 22 or 23 of 24 due to interruptions while channeling either from adds or respawns.

Help? Thanks!

Is anything being done about this? I haven’t seen any word from Devs confirming this bug, though it’s as clear as the SAB bug and completely a waste of time and gold double and triple checking when it’s the interruptions from attacks that are causing the competition to glitch out and not count.

Ursan – you seriously lack in reading comprehension my friend. Nobody anywhere in this thread is complaining about commitment to your guild. Nobody is concerned with your guild. Nobody cares if every last one of you poop gold bars, and we could too, if only we joined you.

That is not the point.

It’s easy to join. We don’t care. It has zero commitment needed – we still don’t care. What we’re discussing is the situation that resulted in needing your guild in the first place – that situation should never have arrived. This only touches on TTS in that TTS exists purely to kill the new Teq.

You keep saying the exact same thing – and none of it is germane to the topic at hand.

As quoted above, and other players have said throughout the thread this isn’t about TTS. Not how effective or good/bad TTS is as a guild, etc but I feel all you’ve done Ursan is try and turn it into half recruitment half demeaning those that don’t want to join TTS. Your logic behind it is, “joining is so easy, you don’t even have to rep so this is the perfect solution to Teq and if you don’t it’s your loss.” I don’t believe that is an optimal solution hence why I created this thread.

A-Net didn’t release Teq saying, “In a change to world bosses’ difficulty we are going to require players to join cross server guilds to complete this event.” It wasn’t. It wasn’t even close to saying anything close to that. TTS is a creative and helpful fix to the GW2 community in order to help those that still want to try at Teq when the rest of their server has moved away from it. You facilitate a broken event for an incredibly small % of the people who have not completely turned their backs to it like Scarlet Zone Spawns or are simply waiting for A-Net to fix the issue. It has been repeated multiple times that TTS is nothing but a “band aid fix” and I don’t believe anyone means it as an insult which is what you seem to take it as. The ingenuity and dedication to making something this broken work is great, but that still doesn’t change the fact the content is broken, regardless how easy it may be to join TTS.

I don’t have the answers to how fix Teq. Many people have suggested great ways in this thread. My whole reason for posting this was in hopes that people would throw up ways of fixing and that Devs would see the community WANTS to do Teq. We yearn to do this content but it is not optimized for the majority of players.

The statistical evidence doesn’t lie. If there are 460k people playing and only 4400 (that’s assuming every overflow that killed him was full with 200 people, and none of them were returning people from say TTS) that’s under 1% of the population of the game actually experiencing and engaging in Teq as a World Boss. This isn’t right.

I’m not complaining about not being able to get loot. Lets face it loot is as broken as this boss is. I’m talking about not having to be the 1% and jump through hoops like swapping servers, making sure I get into an overflow, joining a guild when I’m quite happy with the one I’m already in, just to experience this content. No content should be that limiting. I’m not saying that the hoops to jump through are that hard so save your sarcasm about “five clicks,” but no one should HAVE to do that. As it has been said regular times by multiple people TTS is a bandaid to fix a sever problem with the mechanics of Teq. It’s great the community has found a way to make the content somewhat work, but it’s still broken even if the community has tried to make it work.

I appreciate all your opinions Ursan I do. I love what you guys have done with TSS. It was a great idea and a wonderful shining moment within the GW2 community. Not many communities out there are as welcoming and helpful and I think that has been a big draw in keeping players and drawing new ones in. And I’ll likely be joining TSS so I can actually engage in Teq on a more regular basis. I’d love to get the achievements that’s for sure. However, if content is made where you must joining a multi-server guild in order to even have any hope of downing the boss imo that means something is terribly wrong.

It’s sad, because I was truly excited about the rework of world bosses. While many may like it currently that you can stand in “blind-spots” like Mr. Sleepy Head Shatterer and walk away from your computer I wanted a challenging fight. I mean these bosses are supposed to be UBER! However, balance is key. I love the balance of dynamic events where if more players are around champions and more mobs spawn. Look at Golem. A few days ago about 15 people I was with took him down, just barely within the timer. It was a true challenge but scaled where we still tried instead of saying, “wow, 15 people? This is never going to happen see you guys later.” Some bosses are going to require a minimum and at that minimum you’ll need really good players who know their professionals and help one another but Teq is broken content imo.

Raiding was not supposed to be part of GW2. That was the appeal and marketing of GW2, to NOT follow other MMOs and have that sort of break in division of if you want to get the best gear you HAVE to do large scale events that require ridiculous amounts of time or require you to be in a hard core guild. This event if you want to call it “raiding” goes completely against what GW2 was supposed to be as an MMO. Break the molds of the traditional raiding battle. And if this was a raiding battle that required a specific # why not just instance it not open world if you’re going to pigeon hole it for such a small community of the players.

Also once again you aren’t reading, it’s not about hard, it’s about scaling so not just a group of 50 coordinated people in a specific guild on teamspeak can do it.

Any creature/chest that drops ascended mats has a chance of dropping ascended boxes does it not? Not the Teq specific skins, but normal ascended gear.

What if I’m happy with my current guild I’m with? Why should I be forced to join another guild just to run 1 event in the game or why should I miss out because I’m not a part of that guild. I love the idea of TTS and what they’ve brought to the community, do not misunderstand me there, however, no content should be so unbalanced it requires that or sitting in a queue to make sure you have a spot.

The chance for dropping ascended gear is like that of a precursor if not lower, not to mention it is stat specific gear that most professions don’t/can’t use so other than the skin itself is useless.

I am not crying to make it easier, however, scaling like other bosses do with less players, etc would allow those who get thrown into over flow or lets say a guild of 30 players want to do it, like my guild does with Karka it would be tough, but not impossible as it is right now.

Get used to what, not doing any world events if you aren’t signed up to a specialty guild or on a server that’s at max pop? I don’t believe that is anywhere near acceptable for the majority of players. If GW2 is a game that caters to “the casual gamer” as they themselves marketed the game then no one should be forced down either of these roads to experience content. This was the whole idea behind this MMO not forcing players into raid/WoW type scenarios where you have to be a part of a huge guild or go to extremes to experience the game.

Thanks for all the support all. I just wish that someone in A-Net would look at this and look at the other posts very similar to mine and see that the community isn’t happy. We’re not crying kittens here, but the things that were promised, and the changes that have steadily been made are not what we were told GW2 was going to be. None of these changes are far fetched or all that difficult either.

As it stands right now Teq only happens if you are in TTS (A multi-server guild specializing in taking on this world boss) or happen to be on a large server and sit in non-overflow for an hour+. When or will Teq be updated for ALL players without having to go to either extreme to participate?

If the game is about choices and what you choose to do, then DR shouldn’t even be an option, especially since Orr being without renown is solely based on dynamic events. It’s the main area we’re supposed to be playing when we hit 80.

Same with dungeons, other than Orr it’s our main area as 80s we’re supposed to be running. Since many dungeons are broken and the reward system is broken for the effort naturally people are going to run the easiest dungeons for profit until things are fixed. IE Cof and AC.

What happened to the full dungeon revamp? AC got a make over, and now the first dungeon of the world gives more gold per run than any other? Does that confuse anyone else? Meanwhile dungeons that have bugs/exploits from the release of the game are ignored while more “Living World” stuff is added. A new path to TA, yet 7 other dungeons original paths that require reworking sit. Dungeons should be an intricate part of GW2, like they were advertised. Some work well, others fail miserably. You haven’t fixed any of them, yet you’ve nerfed running paths more than once forcing us to run a very limited # of dungeons. Look at your own LFG tool. Over half of the dungeons are ignored by majority of all servers unless someone HAS to go there for tokens for a Legendary. Doesn’t that tell you something? Don’t force us to go use other dungeons when you haven’t even fixed the dungeons you’re forcing us into, all that’s done is push dungeons away from being used!

The newest offenses to the grind of GW2 are crafting recipes like this Halloween. I’m talking about, “The Crossing, Arachnophobia, and The Mad Moon” new recipes. Do you even look at the tp market or take into account how little drops happen before simply creating a recipe you release into the world?

Look at just one ingredient for The Crossing. The Tyrian’s Best Nougat. 1 Best Nougat = 1000 Nougat Centers. 100 Best Nougats are needed for the gift. Farming these items are on a time sensitive frame which means you will likely need to buy. However, unlike candy corn you cannot guarantee this item will drop vs the other 2 Halloween so grinding is inefficient. Instead grinding for gold is required because looking at the TP and the current market, which will only go up after the event ends and Nougats cannot be acquired, there is no other viable option. 16g will get you 100 Nougat Centers. That’s 1600g minimum to craft an item. Is this what precursors are going to be like?! Are you going to make crafting an exotic harder than a legendary or ascended?

T6 mats. Another offence of forcing the community to look for ways to grind gold because all other options are not worth the time to reward or have been completely nerfed. T6 are required for so many end game things, yet no new end game stuff as been released that would help us acquire them. I don’t want them given away. That is not my complaint, however, if I want T5 mats there are over 5 zones I can do map completion on to get T5 mats since they start dropping at level 50-55ish. Level 70 and 80 zones do not guarantee T6 mats. In fact, even level 80+ creatures like in Southsun Cove don’t even give good odds. Creatures that require 2 or more people to move through the zone don’t give good odds. That means we’re pigeon holed into looking for ways to grind out gold. Champ train for cash to buy them off the TP and MAYBE getting 1-3 after farming and hour and 1 heavy bag for a random 3.

Southsun cove is an area a step above Orr and almost requires 2 people to kill things quickly or one reason to do it very carefully. This is the perfect solution as all these creatures that are above 80 shouldn’t even drop T5 mats. That will bring people back into dead zones and at least if nothing else split up the mindset of the only thing to do at 80 is run champ zerg.

You advertise this as a game of choices, however, with each update you seem to be forcing a direction on the community. Level 80 zones are dead because dynamic events have massive DR. Orr should be constantly alive and yet look at Malchor’s Leap, Dire Striats and Cursed Shores. Almost every wp that can be contested is contested 99.9% of the time. Dungeons remain broken and DR prevents you from running good dungeons more than once or twice without being penalized. You have limited the options of ways we can play successfully as an END GAME community. The beginning of the game is great, the options of zones, renown, etc, but that casual mentality of when you first build a character and beginning level to the end game when you are level 80 changes dramatically. It no longer is fun, and it’s not even the repetitive fun of say Diablo 2 where you’re rewarded for persistence runs or boss killing. Do you not see that the community as a whole is now basically only doing Champ Zerg in FG or Queensdale? Sure each new content gives us about a week of something different but even when that’s going on the zerg still exists. I’m NOT calling for the disbanning or NERF to the champ zerg. I’m asking Anet to look at where they’ve forced players. Is THAT what they want to be the most rewarding experience in the game?

I don’t except ANet to look at this. Hell, I don’t even expect them to change. It would be amazing if one of the devs would. What would be more amazing is to see one Dev read this and report it to the rest of the Devs. For them to sit down and truly discuss where this game is headed and what has been happening lately. What the current state of the game REALLY is and how its changed since launch.

I have been playing GW2 since Beta. I have played GW1 and all its entirety/expansions. I got 5 of my best friends to join up with me for GW2. Even though I’ve yet to ever get 1 precursor (even from the Queen Karka event that EVERYONE seemed to get a pre from) or any item that sells for over 200g on the TP with 4 level 80 characters I still play. The joke one of the players said to your, “What’s in the chest” picture on FB should tell you just how BAD the reward system of your game is. “Blues and greens” is what the player said. His comment had more likes than your picture. Does that tell you something? That’s comment can sum up some of what I’m going to talk about here. The community of GW2 continues to express its lack of satisfaction with the direction of GW2 yet the same things continue. Mainly I’m talking about grinding.

The entire community has been pushed away from the things you originally prided this game to be all about.

If all I want to do is run from dynamic event all over Orr why can’t without being punished? I know many will say this helps with botting. Thank God that’s been fixed, however, I’ve run these zones, the wiki says, “only affects players farming areas for over 3 hours.” This isn’t true. It comes into play probably after the 3rd or 4th time I’ve done an event in the zone. These dynamic events were meant to be repeated and if you don’t want us to repeat them then offer more events or more zones! If I’m only able to run them twice and then I’m forced to move my 80 to do other things, but there are no other level 80 zones where can I go? That means you force me to dungeons, fractals or WvW. But again with dungeons I run into the same DR issue. My rewards are reduced by HALF for repeating a path. So that means after those things I’m forced to run the zerg/champ train. Pretty soon, like what has happened now, I will simply stop doing dungeons and dynamic events all together and just do the zerg/champ train which is what most players do now.

You sold this game stating it would NOT be a grind. You said specifically it wouldn’t follow in the footsteps of other MMOs. Yet, the very thing you made, “dynamic events,” you’ve pushed everyone away from doing. Nothing added to the world this far hasn’t required a grind for trivial things like a certain back piece, mini, or weapon skin. This Living World is a joke of nothing but a new grind every 2 weeks now instead of monthly. Your permanent content is lack luster thus far. Scarlet still attacks ever 4 hours or so, no one does it. Teq fighting has all but died since release because the reward to time it takes isn’t worth it. Sitting on my server’s zone an hour before spawn to make sure I’m not in overflow so the event can hopefully be completed or joining a Teq specific guild are the only two true way to make sure I get what little rewards there are. Do you consider THAT to be a fun time playing GW2? Sitting AFK until a boss spawns so you can hopefully get some sort of reward?

Every release, every new skin, every new 2 week patch is nothing but grinding. The only two new content releases have been left alone since their launch. Southsun Cove was released kitten, incomplete and STILL sits unpolished and unused unless a guild mission forces you there or one of the larger server guilds is downing the karka queen. Fractals which was your best release yet and most popular has sat at its original state. Sure minor patches have fixed bugs/exploits, but nothing new. You’ve made these mini dungeons for the living world which are gone after a month, why weren’t these polished and added as fractals or simply made into part of the fractals to begin with instead of short lived content? What happened to our vote for a new fractal? When fractals were released you said regular new fractals would be added often. The community was stoked about this. Why wasn’t it followed up on?

I’m kind of bummed that since achievement points are across the board whatever I pick between radiant and hellfire is account set, meaning while radiant looks awesome on my warrior, my mesmer/ele and other classes have no way to get hellfire unless I got into 10k+ with achievement points. That in my opinion really forces you to pick 1 level 80, where as having account bound tokens, etc all help you to achieve more for alts this is completely the opposite.

Does anyone know which ones work and which ones do not? I bought 4 avenger GS looking to throw them into the mystic forge since I have an abundance of tokens only to find out the MF doesn’t take them?! I know you used to be able to use weapons you bought from WvW. Is it only the only weapon stat items that can be used or has this been completely eliminated in a patch that I somehow missed?

Dulfy reports it as bugged at least in Infantile mode. People have said mixed in regards to getting it in normal, but Infantile is most definitely bugged.

There are STILL bugs that when getting attacked or certain skills/passives are active that I will get ruined chunks of ore and logs even though I’m using the highest level pick.

My friend (Guardian) and I (Mesmer) were running through the CS area for map competition and on multiple occasions we both ran across this bug completely ruining harvesting. The worst was when this bug happened while harvesting Ori or Ancient Logs.

Please fix this bug. Thanks!

Master of Baubles Infantile Mode

When is this bug going to be fixed? Is there plans to actually fix it? I’ve seen two hotfixs but no fix to this specifically. Some people say they’ve gotten it in normal, but then others reply the exact opposite so I’m not sure if the whole Master of Baubles is a broken achievement or just Infantile. I personally have only tried Infantile and know it’s broken there. I don’t know about the rest of you but I refuse to run this for a 5th time only to get jipped. Please fix this ANet!

Does the new transmutation split item in the gem store allow you to unsoulbound to account bound a character? But I think you’d probably have to change the skin on the backpiece first in order for these to work. I honestly don’t know, but that may work if you can do some research on it.

As for as I’ve read Spirit, you do NOT have to get the cart, it’s a separate part of the game not linked to the Zone. After defeating the Toad King the achievement should pop up.

Yes Sushi, apparently the bug is only for Infantile. If you do it in normal you’re okay but Infantile has something that even now with the 5th bauble on the tree it isn’t registering as complete.
