Guild bank is not a very good suggestion for transferring high cost items. Recent bug can delete permanently on withdrawal.
I’d get it if the main stat was toughness. But I don’t need any more vit.
Howdy yall,
Any idea how viable a bulky support/healing/condition necro would be for WvW and dungeon running? I saw some older guides but haven’t seen anything all that recent. The group I run with already has juggermancer and condition necros so I wanted to try something different if possible.
I was thinking of grabbing a mix of shaman and apothecary gear mainly avoiding wasted points in power, precision, and crit damage (synergy is too high in these areas that I always feel like im wasting something unless I’m dropping points in all of them).
Then 30 points in the heal and 20 in vit line. Weapons probably staff Axe/focus. But I don’t really know where to go from there.
I have a 60ish necro so I’ve yet to experiment yet (I like those wvw and dungeons better at 80).
Any info would be lovely!
Oh good, I was worried that Warrior might continue to maintain it’s vicegrip on PvE content. Continue with your “Hundred Blades” please.
I really didn’t like any typical charr light armor, so I made something a lil unique.

My way to play thief is to Gear offensively and trait defensively.
Zerkers is probably your best bet for gear. I’m using rampage now and am working on switching over because I’m not really impressed with my condition damage (best gear for condition damage is probably carrion to improve survivability). Stat stacking sigils (can’t use 2 of them though) are cool as are on crit abilities (fire, lightning, condition cure).
I mainly trait for stealth and initiative regen. I’m currently playing with 0/0/30(V, X, XI)/25(VI,IX)/15(II). I like the stats for the first 2 but I’m overall not impressed with the traits they give(except power’s 25 minor trait, too far to be worthwhile though D=).
Weapons I use are Shortbow and D/P or P/D. I switch off and main depending on what I’m running(means you only need 2 weapons too).
Heal: usually Hide in Shadows, sometimes signet of malice
Utilities: Infiltrators signet(or shadowstep), Shadow Refuge (always), personal preference (usually signet of shadows, but I also like: smokescreen, blinding powder, and very situationally scorpion wire).
Elite: Thieves guild usually, daggerstorm occasionally (can be really strong with signet of malice in big crowds you heal so much otherwise it’s a lil risky for how much damage it does)
Your role is mainly dps but you give a lot to the party in the form of blinds and stealths (shadow refuge is an easy revive in most situations).
I’ve been building up a set of Rampager exotic for awhile now and I’m wondering what trait/skill/weaponset I should try with it. Every body seems to go either bursty (berserker) or condition (carrion). I was using a survival thief for awhile with Pistol/Dagger and Shortbow. Traited 0/0/20/30/20 with maximum stealth skills. However I would like to up my DPS (preferably without having to get a new set of gear) any suggestions on how I should do this?
I think a lot of his motivation is just about having something to do. I mean I like crafting and all and I know how to make money doing it. But making stuff just to sell on the TP seems lifeless. And it’s not really like it’s that hard to craft if you don’t have to find the materials.
Only real reason to do it is for fast leveling. Which isn’t all that hard anyway. I still have 4 crafts on one of my toons solely for that reason. But 2 of them I intend to get on another character as they were cheap to level anyways.
Master Crafter is achievement bound which is account wide (each craft has a different achievement. Google agrees with me. So it may or may not be all on the same character.

No, it means I will lose one of the niches that I will leak as an example. Which I can deal with. However I would appreciate a more informed market.
Yeah. I feel you, I bought a stack of ancient wood right before they crashed (oh speculation, how you can backfire). Lost a couple gold overnight.

Look into making rare jewelry. I make so much money with this, just have to find the proper niche. I am actually going to make a guide to making money with crafting this weekend using jewelry as an example (it applies to every other craft too though).
He wouldn’t need to pay that if he had his different crafts on alts.
Well when you reach 400 in a craft you gain a total of 10 levels. So that 12 (you come out of the intro instance at 2 most of the time) is pretty much as low as you go while having it. But other then that there is no real minimum.
I’ve found that I’m very capable of making good profits with crafting on Jeweler. It’s all about finding a niche. I’m going to make a guide about it at sometime in the future.
It’s the base model. Maybe I’m just spoiled by my nice PC.
Although it still is notably better in Boot Camp.
I would venture to say that I abuse the current TP a bit in a couple ways. None of which I would say were intended in its creation. MIght be helpful in gauging it’s status.
1. Buying greens at 1 c above vendor sell price and then being able to sell a full set of equips at a 10 c loss to vendor everytime I level to the next tier (this is lolzy, also I never repair because I can always just replace equips for a 1 c loss).
2. Buying base mats on the TP and then being able to refine and sell for more despite the 15% fee. (this is slowly becoming less viable as the market stabilizes though).
3. Speculation using the offer feature. This usually allows you to dodge the 15% fee because the offer is almost always at least 15% below the instant price for commonly traded items.
4. Free leveling of crafting via refinement and sale to vendors. (the prime example of this is in artificing where you can buy dusts on TP for less then the sale price of the tuning crystals you make them into to merchants).
I have a base model Macbook Air 13. Wasn’t really designed for gaming but I thought I’d give it a try.
Pretty unplayable on low with the new Mac client. Lag between actions even on minimum resolution (either full screen or windowed). I didn’t even try WvW because of this.
Only time I would open is for moving items around on the TP otherwise it’s best to just boot it up in Boot Camp (where it is very playable on the same computer) or better yet my gaming PC.
Sounds pretty similar to my setup (I think I have a slightly better graphics card but I wouldn’t think that does all that much). Also I have a 24" screen (which is probably a good upgrade).
The upgrade I’m considering doing to mine is changing it over to a mini itx build. I don’t need that huge tower and I move around a quite a bit. But yknow I’ll see when I have money for it.
The issue is I don’t think it’s just story missions it’s also just areas. I find playing areas at or even below a level is not that challenging. However I go to that same area 6 levels later and I seem to be doing much less damage to the critters there.
Example: I went into a level 50 area with my level 58 yesterday (equipped with full lvl 56-57 green items) and things just didnt seem to take damage…
I have current gear for my level however it feels like whenever the game downlevels me more then one or two levels I am actually weaker then when I was at the level it takes me too… This is especially true for story quests (could just be I’m getting downleveled 10 because I went and crafted for awhile). Anyone else share these feels?
Posted this in another thread but here it is again:
Artificing is hella easy. Costs 1 gold if you do it right. Here’s how:
1. Make tuning crystals at each level until you don’t get xp for it and then merch them. You can usually get a better price then what you pay on dust on the TP (usually i made 1 cp or break even).
2. When you aren’t getting xp for tuning crystals make potions of centaur slaying. When this stops giving you xp make potions of dredge or ogre slaying.
3. This may seem redundant but at any point that you can make xp for it make tuning crystals. They are the cheapest way to level.
4. You cannot use potions to get from 390 to 400. As such you have to use the discovery system (like you would for most other crafts). You should be able to do it in 3-4 discoverys of rare top tier items. Most of these merch for about the same as materials.
The central point is also ridiculously easy to defend. You can siege it for hours and if they have half your people they can just wipe you.
Then again I’m also on Darkhaven and we don’t seem to get anywhere ever…

I’ve already done Artificing which took me ~2 hours and cost me a little under 1 gold. Since I’ve tried to take a similar approach to leathermaking with no luck…
I know that cooking used to be super easy to level but it seems that it has been made more expensive since then… (but if you know how to do it cheap I would love to know)
So let me ask you guys. What do you think are the cheapest crafts to level?
