Agreed. Fluffball is only looking for like-minded individuals. Not a discussion.

Got it. I thought I missed it because he said “all existing players.”
-William Shakespeare
This is from the article about the addition of free accounts to the game:
Will existing players who bought the base game be getting any bonuses?
Earlier this year, right after we introduced our pre-purchase program for Heart of Thorns, we gave a free character slot to all existing players. This week we also have a special anniversary gift for all of our existing players [following up on this].
I do not remember a free slot for everyone? Was it a special event?

I think it would be interesting to see AvAvA. Server populations are main reason for the WvW imbalance. AvAvA, however, would increase the server load to accommodate all the new matches unless they replaced WvW with AvA.
Unless I am mistaken, since WvW is outside of the GW2 Lore, it would be fine to reintroduce guild/alliance-based PvP.
-William Shakespeare
Of course, this would work better if EotM did not exist, or at least didn’t give WvW experience.
Just do this. EotM is a fine map. They need to just make it so that it doesn’t affect the WvW populations. More people go into EotM just so you can build WvW experience, karma, and gold. They already nerfed the champion trains. EotM will be next probably.

yes to sPVP balance and bug fixes.
PvE does not require profession balance since it is PvE.
Profession Balance in PvE would refer to class balance in dungeons, such that you would not see as many “Warrior Zerks 80s Only” messages in LFG.
-William Shakespeare
In order of preference:
- Dungeon for 10 people.
- More Weapons for Each Class
- More Classes
- More Elder Dragon Fights
- More Races
-William Shakespeare
He means the character vocalizations, for example when the character yells “Retreat” “Stand Your Ground” when you activate the Shout skills for guardian. I don’t know what the other classes say.
-William Shakespeare
Isn’t there a volume slider for voices? or is it tied to all sound effects?
-William Shakespeare
Which is more important to you, the players? And why?
1) Living Story:
Consistent and Continuous Updates with Permanent and Temporary Map Additions
2) New Features:
Guild Halls, Player Housing, Capes, New Legendaries, Crafting Precursors, New Weapon and Armor skins, New Weapon Types and Utility Skills
3) New PvP Content:
New Maps for sPvP and WvW, GvG content
4) Less Content Updates:
Focus on Profession Balance in PvP and PvE, and General Bug Fixes
You can’t say all of the above ‘cause you’re flippin’ crazy :P

We’ve been asking for the ability to remove the quest list from the UI since launch. IIRC, they said it would be a hassle for technical/customer support to instruct players how to get the quest list back if they accidentally turned it off by accident.
A weak response in my opinion. Annoying? Most definitely. Gamebreaking? Possibly, since annoyance will lead to frustration, then anger, then rage-quits.
Only someone with the patience of a saint would continue to implore Anet for this feature due to the lack of progress in regard to this matter.
Anet!!!! Hurry! Our patience is running low! And frequent monthly updates that have nothing to do with UI optimization is not helping.
-William Shakespeare
This could be abused if the cost isn’t applied because the gold sink of waypoints would be bypassed. Keep the cost from traveling between waypoints and this would be a great idea.

Moderator, please merge this thread with https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Ranger-pet-UI/first#post1985483
Also, still agree with both threads. There should be a Pet UI for Rangers, Elementalists, and Necromancers.
-William Shakespeare
Awesome idea! Would make some skins actually useful.
-William Shakespeare
This would be a great idea.
Anet, if you see this, please do this.
-William Shakespeare
No.
Create a separate arena. Call it the Coliseum. Enter the arena and choose to fight or to watch. You can watch duels as a spectator in the audience.
After choosing to fight, choose to fight:
1. Random player -> Enter queue -> Random battle between players upscaled to lvl 80
2. Specific player in party -> Choose player in party
Multiple duels occur simultaneously in separate “rings” or circular raised platforms, where players cannot fall off, so there are no ring outs.
Preferable to have the Arena in the Mists, but would be cool to have one in each major city and/or Lion’s Arch.
Optional: Enable tournament system in "Random player " option with Elo rating system.

LotRO and SWTOR are second rate MMOs compared to this game. I can’t get back to the established questing system in the typical MMO anymore.
-William Shakespeare
Doesn’t work if you try to suicide. The game teleports you back to the platform and the NPCs heal you.

Metrica Province (Asura) – The Fire Elemental
Wayfarer Foothills (Norn) – The Frozen Maw
Queensdale (Human) – The Shadow Behemoth
These starter zones have significantly higher populations because of the meta-events that drop a boss chest at the end.
I don’t think the other ones, Plains of Ashford and Caledon Forest have events that drop a chest. Anet should include them to disperse the population more evenly, but that’s a discussion for another day.
-William Shakespeare
Ranger. First class to level to 80. Preferred WvW class. Guardian as secondary for dungeons. Warrior, Ele, and Mesmer were somewhat fun.
-William Shakespeare
Change the trait from allowing the spirit to move with you to last indefinitely. Then make the spirit move with you by default. It’ll be like a second pet. In this case armor should be increased and the skill cooldowns to remain the same.
Otherwise, if the spirit is rooted with the trait unchanged, buff both armor and skills of the spirits.
-William Shakespeare
Great idea. Would take an extreme amount of effort to add to the existing lighting mechanics of the game. If this is approved and in the pipeline for the future, I wouldn’t expect it until next year at the earliest.
-William Shakespeare
This would be a great addition and improve inventory management.
-William Shakespeare
Another great idea for any bow-wielding avatar. Anet, please implement this into the game.
-William Shakespeare
This would be a great addition to improving the Ranger’s gameplay.
-William Shakespeare
The problem is the population is not spread across all the zones. Granted that most MMOs have that same problem, however, GW2 exacerbates the problem since you do not need to leave the zone to progress. Exp and loot scale to your level even in you’re in the beginning zones. There is no incentive to progress further into the zone except for map completion, dungeons, personal story, and gathering.
I found that Lion’s Arch and Wayfarer Foothills are the most talkative zones in my server. Even then, there are gaps of complete silence.
Zones without dungeons are more barren than zones with dungeons, since at least there are people shouting, “LFG.”
They need to add a Mystic Forge in each city.
Although world chat does get annoying if there is a particular bad apple (that’s when the Block is applied), they would unify the conversation across the server.
-William Shakespeare
Different races shouldn’t have any specific boons that make one race better than the other. Like the above poster said, players will be forced to roll certain races with specific professions.
Keep it the way it is. Just add more diverse cultural armor.
-William Shakespeare
I’d like to see the option at the bottom of the message, “[ ] Do not show ever again.”
Check the box. Voila. It’d be nice if it saves to the account and not just that session.
-William Shakespeare
+1. It’s annoying to have your pet pop out when you don’t need it or it gets too close to a mob and takes aggro.
-William Shakespeare
No. Don’t even think about it.

I like this idea. This would be a great addition to guild-oriented activities. I was disappointed when there wasn’t a GvG battle in this game.
I would ask that instead of a set time, there would be matches multiple times per day. Not everyone plays on the same schedule, so there will be missed opportunities.
I would like to see that at the top of each hour for 2-6 hours (more if players want more flexibility), the guild leader or senior members of the guild would submit the guild into the battle queue. This would put them into a queue which would match them up with another guild in the next hour (or half-hour).
Preferably, Anet would assign an Elo rating for each guild, so that matches would be even. How the Elo rating is determined would be up to a (hopefully) paid statistician.
Afterwards, the guild leader or senior member of the guild calls the guild to enter the GvG battle, which would last 1 hour. I found that 2 hours is draining and any less simply not enough.
Although I dislike the idea of the “Rallying” the troops for GvG, since some people don’t PvP or want to do something else. Making them have to choose on a pop-up dialogue box to enter the guild battle would be distracting.
Instead I like the idea that each guild member who wants to join in would select in the Guild panel or PvP panel to enter the guild battle voluntarily at the appointed time.
This is similar to the Siege War feature in the game, Runes of Magic, isn’t it? Just hope it doesn’t stay in beta for 4+years =P
-William Shakespeare
Anet’s argument to not implement an option to turn off any part of the UI is to reduce the number of players from asking Anet: “I turned off ____. Help me turn it back on.”
Not much confidence in the player-base lol.

How so? I think it would be too niche to be worth it.
Agreed.
The Falcon detection in Ragnarok was only useful for finding invisible enemies within a limited area of effect. The Ranger would have to guess where the Thief would be. Since there will be a long cooldown for such a useful skill, it wouldn’t be overpowered.
Another game, Runes of Magic, had Rangers able to detect any hidden enemies within range. It wasn’t overpowered either in that game, since only Thieves or players with invisibility potions would be threatened by the skill.
-William Shakespeare
This would be similar to another game I played before this (RoM, Siege War). I really liked playing it. Would be great if they could do this. There needs to be more Guild vs. Guild content.
-William Shakespeare
Agree with everything above. I was hoping to be able to bind a separate hotkey for each tab in the Hero page as well.

25 years of age. This is one of the better MMOs so far.
- Leveling does not seem to be a chore.
- Leveling crafting is streamlined.
- The bank space dedicated for collectibles and mats is a nice touch.
- The level playing field across maps is ingenious.
- The cash shop in the game is balanced so players can’t pay-to-win.
- Can’t beat the lack of a monthly subscription fee.
- The dye palette is a great way for customizing appearance.
- Disappointed to not see any direct Guild vs. Guild content.
- Instances giving only cosmetic changes to gear was disappointing.
- WvWvW is great, but too many PvPers jump ship when the server is losing and migrate to the servers with the higher PvP population.
- The extra skill points seem to be left by the wayside.
- The stats from traits don’t seem to make much of a difference.
ArenaNet’s To-Do List:
- Individual Hotkeys for the different tabs in the Hero Page (Achievements, Traits, PvP).
- Removal of material nodes, DE, POIs, Skill Points, and Vistas from WvWvW maps that aren’t in the PvP areas (Keeps, Towers, Supply Camps). Exploration is for PvE, imo.
- Remove Ranger’s Longbow damage penalty from close range.
- Add Back equipment (unless they did already).
- Add chest reward after defeating the Champion Giant for the DE in Diessa Plateau.
Still playing and will be playing for the foreseeable future. Looking forward to the improvements to the game.

This is a great idea. In LoL, it was essential to know your range of attack. It would be great if they could implement this.
