Look, Elite Dangerous wants to do the same, sell the expansion for $49.99 including the base game. But there won’t be a way to buy just the expansion, so this is a 100% similar case.
Frontier are knocking £10 off the price of Horizons if you already own Elite Dangerous.
Look at the chart at the bottom.

The character slot does nothing for me personally, I’ve not seen or heard anthing to suggest to me that HoT is worth the money.

They would have to drop the price significantly or add more than just a character slot or two to make me part with MY money.
Dropping the price would result in them having to deal with numerous people wanting refunds and the resulting “where’s my money” messages. This leaves them with adding more to the packages and as I said a character slot or two doesn’t make me interested.

£35 nope too much, a for the other two packs an extra £25 for vanity items or an extra £45 for the same vanity items and some gems! What the kitten is in those cookies you folks eat?. I know you’re not going to make any changes no matter how much we voice our dissapointment.
This event has been bugged for over 2 years. The below is from another bug post.
Meta Event: Southern Invasion of Orr
Dynamic Event: Clear Broken Spit of Risen
Objective Text: Risen Replicators 0/6 Risen Remaining: 26
Date 9/16/2012, 12:43 EST
Server: Darkhaven
Notes: The Risen replicators (I assume they’re the half buried zombie fish?) are un-targetable.
I prefer these frogs, they have style. And a bar.
A little improvement would be to replace the Padlock icon with an image of a Gem for those dyes only available from the gem store.
It would make it that bit easier to see where I need to look for the relevant missing dye.
I wouldn’t bet on it being rebuilt any time soon. If the workers are like those building the dam in Queensdale you won’t see any progress for years.
I have to say that I think the new daily system is bad. I used to choose a character and while map exploring do the dailies, as far as I’m able to recall this is the first time I actually got bored, and can’t be kittened with them.
The points and rewards aren’t the sole attraction to do the dailies, what did was that I could just do them while playing. I’ll probably spend less time playing the game now than before the change as running round on map looking for events, before moving to another to harvest, then a third for yadda yadda yadda…
I understand that we are stuck with this change and it is a case of like it or lump it.
Iron Marches, Monger’s Sink
I think Mordy may have frightened this Barracuda out of the water and onto the platform.
Bloodtide Coast, Stormbluff Isle
Near to the Vista is a triangular piece of rock that is missing a face.
Bunnies are strange in Tyria, they are on nearly everymap yet appear immune to corruption by dragons.
Divinities Reach
A protruding piece of art is coming through the wall. It is only visible from one side as shown in the attached images.
I would have loved to be able to sell stuff back to the gemstore, even if it was for only a fraction of the listed price. It would make opening BL Chests less painful when you get more express delivery thingybobs.
Ok thank you Incalpatus cedo.
I’ve been trying to unlock the skin for the Warden Shoes, my character bought the skin from the Armourer in the Boarderlands. When I right click to bring up the menu I can only Preview, Use, or Destroy. Hovering over the item says the skin is locked, and checking my wardrobe the skin is still locked.
If you look at Fens arm you can see through it. I know the image is a bit dark, sorry about that.

While waiting for the next event to happen at LC I went for a wander and realised something odd. The ship that you arrive on can’t actually leave, there isn’t anywhere deep enough for the ship to leave its landing – it’s stuck.
Also the vendors are lying so-an-so’s they shout about having this and that but don’t offer it for sale. Yes I would like a trinket for a loved one but I don’t class a bag of fruit or veg a trinket.
And another thing where are the parents of those baby Quaggan? leaving them to run around with dangers everywhere. Shame on yoooo.
;)
My IP address must have changed over night and I got the usual email asking for me to approve the connection, only to get 7 identical emails.
They are all legitimate, but it is a little overboard to send so many.

I had an idea for a Siege Engineer WvW crafting profession. The SE would be able to build multiple types of barriers, turrets and siege engines. Each item would have a placement cost that would limit the number of items that can be placed on a map, also each item could be used by anyone on any side.
For example a turret placed by one side can be used by anyone who gets hold of the controls. Putting a arrow cart at the end of a valley is fine as long as the enemy don’t get hold of it.
So limited number of items can be placed and the ability for them to be used by anyone would keep them from becoming dominant over the battlefields.
I kept mine from last time too as I didn’t have sufficient. You would’ave thought that a yearly event would keep the same prize tokens.
When I log in the Festival of the Four Winds forum is hidden, yet I can see it when I’m not logged in.
Sootberme, Mount Maelstrom
It is hard to see on the image but the tree is surrounded by floating bushes.
I’ve just created a Charr and noticed the same issue. It looks way too big.
Cursed Shore : Noose Road
If you go for the Skill Challenge and climb on the rocks to avoid the champion you partially enter some of the rocks.
I’ve just done a count of the duplicate dyes I have on four characters, the result is I should get at least 184 unid dyes. I’m just one player so when you consider the size of the player base the number of unid dyes being available will soar.
I’ve yet to see a response to the question regarding the availability of dyes from harvesting. I don’t class it as loot.
As dyes are being removed from loot, what about getting dyes from harvesting? Will that also be removed?
Account wide dyes were something quite a lot of players have been asking for since beta, I’m glad it is happening.
Thanks.
I would have had us meet Scarlet much earlier than we did.
Players could have been requested by Zojja to visit Omadd and find out what the old bloke is up to. Part of this could have been helping Omadd finish his machine and helping Scarlet prepare for entering it. With this we would have a small connection to the everyday Scarlet and seen her fall slowly over time rather than bumping into an already crazed Scarlet. She still could kill Omadd but at a later date, further into the releases.
Flame and Frost. If Scarlets goal was the Dredge sonic technology why introduce the Flame Legion, they weren’t needed in the story. So the Dredge wanted magic and Scarlet with all her intelligence and skills couldn’t find a way to give it to them? Why not develop her own sonic technology? For the actual release Scarlet could have been encountered again after the boss fight "I’d convinced the Dredge to help me with some research, they turned on me ". Not true, but it would have kept the connection with Scarlet alive with the player.
Queen’s Jubillee and Clockwork Chaos would have been yet another perfect time to reintroduce Scarlet to the players, just not as a psychopath. Scarlet could have been thanked for creating the Watchknights for the celebration, while having a patsy play the psychopath. This would have allowed Scarlet to activate the Watchknights to attack the patsy and have numerous Watchknights taken away. The invasion of the Twisted Watchknights could have been answered by saying that the patsy had broken into Scarlets laboratory and released her prototypes and corrupted some of the machines.
All to this point Scarlet would have been connecting with the player while gathering everything she needed, it would have made her betrayal more meaningful.
I would have had Scarlet at the camp outside the Tower of Nightmares. She could have been pretending to help, collecting samples etc and blame any irrational outburst on the poison from the tower. “You know a giant Watchknight could pluck that weed… hahahaha….”, “Giant? It would have to be immense to pull that plant up”, “I can do immense, watch me… Stomp, stomp.. hahahah”.
The energy probes could have been placed under the guise of tracking the roots from the toxic weed. Scarlet could have got the players to help defend the construction of several of the probes. Again keeping Scarlet in contact with the players and still giving her the information she needs for the story.
“Left leg in, left leg out, kick the little minions all about.” The marionet really should have been different, everytime it lost Scarlet would improve it and make it more resistant to certain conditions or damage types. Also it souldn’t have been a marionet at all, just a stand alone watchknight. “I’ve found a use for the pale tree… to scrape Char off of my boots hahahahah. Stomp.” The end of the release period Scarlet could thank the players for helping her create the ulimate Watchknight and that all she needs now is a green light for phase two.
Phase two would have been the attack on Lion’s Arch when the energy probe turned green. “I’ll tell you my plan, but as you won’t survive why bother.”
As you can tell I’m not a writer, but I hope it gives you some idea on how the Scarlet arc could have gone.
So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Zeno Iagara.8540
- Flame and Frost Ok
The Flame and Frost releases were ok. A steady introduction culminating in the big boss fight in part four. What the sonic periscopes had to do with anything I’ve no idea, they didn’t add to the story.
- The Secret of Southsun Missed it
- Last Stand at Southsun Missed it
- Dragon Bash Enjoyed it
- Sky Pirates of Tyria Ok
The Not So Secret jumping puzzle was quite fun in a way. Like the Mad King’s Clocktower, I didn’t mind failing. I didn’t attempt the Aetherblade Retreat dungeon part of the release. Having had a bad experience with some players during another dungeon put me off forced groupings. I play for enjoyment not abuse.
- Bazaar of the Four Winds Enjoyed it
I really enjoyed this release; it had a positive vibe and enough mini puzzles to fill in my spare time.
- Cutthroat Politics Meh
This was a release that would split opinion depending on how you prefer to play GW2. I don’t play PvP, so when you remove that and the Candidate Trials (got to group), there wasn’t anything else of interest.
- Queen’s Jubilee OK
Essentially a storyless release and just an environment for killing different things. The Great Collapse would have offered a more interesting environment to explore, it could have been developed into a multi-level collapsing labyrinth underneath Divinity’s Reach.
- Clockwork Chaos Meh
Another dungeon. I don’t begrudge people who enjoy playing dungeons, just not for me.
- Twilight Assault Skipped it
- Tower of Nightmares Ok
Spreading the effects of the tower around the neighbouring zones was a good idea. Plenty to kill around the lake with different bosses attacking. What the tower had to do with the Scarlet story I don’t know. If it was to assist in the development of the miasma it was a lot of work for little reward, the miasma was unnecessary.
- The Nightmare Within Meh
You basically had to wait for a passing Zerg, keep up with it until the top and don’t die on the way. I just couldn’t get interested in it, I did have a look and got to the first waypoint before leaving.
- The Origins of Madness Ok
Why go to all the trouble to create the giant marionette Watchknight and just dump it. No one would put so many resources into a project that large just to abandon it. Stupid. Nothing in this release made sense to the overall story.
- Escape from Lion’s Arch Ok
It should have been named Lion’s Arch Rescue or something similar. Not a bad release with plenty to do.
- Battle for Lion’s Arch Ok
Although set in Lion’t Arch it really was to do with an attack on Scarlet, so the name doesn’t fit. The battle had been lost earlier. Adding the Knights to the battle as keys for getting onto Scarlet’s ship was a different approach to the collecting parts idea. For the end of the season, besides the coming epilogue, it felt a bit weak,
Overall the season and story arc was ok, it could have been better but for a first run it was ok. My personal score of the season would be 6.5/10
I’ve been playing computer games since the ZX81 days, in all these years I’ve never bought a game that hasn’t had a bug of somekind in it. Pretty much up until the internet if the game had a bug you lived with it, only on extremely rare occasions would a publisher offer an exchange for a corrected version. So with bugs I’ve got the view that “can I live with it?”, and more often that not I can.
Yes, there have been some serious bugs that shouldn’t have made it onto the servers (Southsun Cove launch) and I, like you, have wondered what the puppy (don’t like cats) is ANet playing at. But most of the bugs I can live with.
I’m not giving excuses to ANet for the bugs, even if they are minor, don’t release it until it works.
I’ve enjoyed some of the LS, the stuff I’ve not enjoyed has been down to my prefered playstyle. Having had my head chewed off for not playing how others demand has kept me away from optional/enforced grouping events.
The story has been mixed, it has felt like it was written by several people each given a chapter and not really knowing what the others are writing, then rushing to merge the bits together. It gave the impression that it was being made up as it went along rather than being planned out.
In the UK we have numerous dialects, in Yorkshire we have a tendancy to cut words “he wasn’t here” becomes “he wan’t ’ere”, and “it isn’t in the box” becomes “t’int in box”. So with the dialogue I put anything that sounds odd down as dialect and let it pass.
Am I easily pleased? No, but I’m quite forgiving.
It’s true I didn’t want to kill Scarlett. I’ve stomped loads of stuff into mushy pulp, but I never felt that I was making a mistake like I did with Scarlett. The comment she made about Tyria bowing to a new master got me thinking, by killing her we have lost the best chance to fight the new dragon. She wasn’t saying it’s too late my master has risen, but by killing me you’re allowing the dragon to take over.
I don’t know, and we may never get a clear cut answer. All I know is that if I didn’t kill Scarlett it wouldn’t make a bit of difference to how things played out.
I’ve not noticed a pattern to the sound which is best described as someone hitting a hi-hat with a pan.
Whiteside Ridge – Waste Hollows
Inside the cave with the priory researcher you can get stuck behind an invisible wall, there is a gap on the left side (on the screenshot)
Whiteside Ridge – Bramble Pass
Inside the tunnel the light effect or texture looks wrong.
Hearing Scarlets new voice sytle reminded me of the borg, this got me thinking. Our characters exist on only one world – Whiteside Ridge for example – but npcs and others exist on every world. As the mists link those worlds together, you could gather all the Scarlets from those worlds into one place within the mists. Each Scarlet sharing information on how that world fared.
Thank you for your help.
Is it possible to move the GW2 installation to another HDD without having to download the game again? I’m quite appy altering the registry if needed.
Thanks
Sparkfly Fen : Leeshore Gaultlet : Ancient Shark Pistrix Skill Point
While inside the cave with the skill point (not the enterance section), you can swim through a gap in the rocks near the top of the cave and get behind the scenary.
Sparkfly Fen
It appears as though a texture on the rock has been stretched out of shape.
Queensdale
The worm in the attached imae had a strange behaviour in that several sections of its head were rotating in odd ways.
Bloodtide Coast.
As you can see in the attached image there are three dolphins all stuck in the terrain at the same spot.

Timberline Falls, Sector Zuhl.
I just decided to climb a hill and discovered that the world is hollow!! I entered the area from the Dredgehaunt Cliffs and climbed the hills to the east.
For a bit of 8-bit style fun – the classic Rick Dangerous
http://rickdangerousflash.free.fr/
I realised yesterday that when I pressed the button to just move the camera another players character moved. The first screenshot shows without the button pressed and the second with the button pressed. As you can see te other players character turns his head, it wasn’t a one off as I first thought it was a coincidence.
I’m the ele by the way.
I was exploring Harathi Hinterlands I managed to get into an area that didn’t reveal on the map. I walked arnd trying to ge kitten to reveal but nothing happened, so either I was in an area we aren’t supposed to get to or the trigger didn’t work.
We have all this snow with plenty of slopes so can we have some skis please?
Thanks
