fighting for Borlis Pass
Hello all,
I’d like to welcome you to join “Fear is the Mindkiller” [FEAR] here on good old Borlis Pass. This is sort of a grand opening invitation, there are no members other than me as of this posting yet, but the guild is upgraded to at least level 4 in everything, has a guild stash, guild treasure trove, and will have guild bounties unlocked in about a day.
All new members automatically have invite privileges and deposit/withdrawal access to the guild vault on the honor system (think take a penny/give a penny). I will upgrade the guild size limit as soon as we have the numbers to do so. We are going to be a casual no pressure guild that is ideal for those with busy schedules and family’s or even as a secondary guild to chill with and do guild bounties together.
Everyone will be treated equally initially, with those that demonstrate leadership traits and wisdom being promoted to advanced privileges such as being able to claim WvW forts, activate upgrades, etc.
Contact me if interested and bring a friend too

Glad to hear that you have enough sense to leave FOX too, they mindlessly demoted some of us who bent over backwards to help the guild, which is why I bailed… I would definitely suggest Seraphim Martyrs [BURN]. It is definitely one of the top 5 BP guilds to be a part of, with great commanders like Evilzara and Hassmore and phenomenal leadership and guild comradery.

Hi guys,
The guild I was in has been taken in the wrong direction so I left and am looking for a more solid guild to roll with. Basically I am looking for a guild that’s oriented in Fractals, WvW, and hopefully dungeons as well. Guild Bounty unlocks are a plus, but definitely not a requirement.
I’m a moderately active player, I’m on when I can and have 3 lvl 80’s mostly decked out in exotics/some ascended gear, 3,2xx achievement points, and only have a handful of gold to my name. I would prefer a guild that has a structured website and TS/Mumble/Vent already in place, but that’s not super important as I can help the right guild implement those things (I have my degree in IT).
As stated in the title, I am Borlis Pass faithful (due to WvW) so hit me up if your guild sounds like a good match. Thanks!

Audio Device Selection & Bluetooth Headset

On my iMac (21.5" mid 2011 model with 16GB RAM, i7 2.8 Ghz proc, 256 GB SSD & 1GB HDD, Radeon HD 6770M, OS X 10.8.2), the audio choices are:
-Default Device
-Default Audio Device
On my Windows 7 partition that version gives me the following sound options:
-Default Device
-Headphones (Bluetooth Hands-Free Audio) <— when powered on
-Speakers (Cirus Logic CS4206A (AB09))
-Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (Cirus Logic CS4206A (AB09)
Strange how the Mac client doesn’t specify the actual devices like it does on the Windows version. It seems the Cider client needs some tweaking yet.
I also noticed that when I use my Hi-Fi BH-M8 Bluetooth headset, the Mac version of GW2 will shut the headphones off if I tab out of game to check a website. I have to physically shutdown GW2 (Mac) to get my headphones recognized by GW2 again. This is annoying late at night when I’m trying to be quiet, but need to check a GW2 reference website. Curious if these issues are related.
Note: Bluetooth A2DP audio is tricky on both Mac and Window 7. On the Mac I needed to run the following command in Terminal to improve sound quality:
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent “Apple Bitpool Min (editable)” 40
On Windows 7, there is lousy driver support for the bluetooth headset’s receiver, and I had to download and install the following driver:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS028620
It isn’t an official Apple driver, but it works rock solid for me with absolutely no disconnects

I spent a good 200K karma in addition to all the karma jugs I got back on the chests yesterday. I got a variety of drops such a 2 mini pets (duplicates), 2 tonics that turn me into an earth elemental, Destroyer cores, several obsidian shards, Lodestones, and a crap load of “unidentified” garbage.
Edit: forgot to mention this was from the karma vendor next to Arah on Borlis Pass server.

I’m really excited for WvW this week, both DH & DB are worthy opponents! I’m impressed to see use of coordinated strategy for a change. For example, I love how tonight DH attacked west SM, got us to hop down and chase them and then they blocked off our retreat and attempted to pick us off. It’s way more fun to engage opponents like this than the boring facerolling karma trains of weeks past.
I think it’s great for all of our servers to learn from one another, and it forces us to step up our game and to have better communications.

Gates of Madness used to be a force to be reckoned with, but lately they are push overs most of the time that I play. Anvil Rock has been playing terrifically in my opinion, they came at us with an several impressive zergs last night.
Lots of Borlis Pass’s problems are just with people being stupid with placement of siege, trebuchets in particular. For example some guy on our team placed on right in the center of a road lol. We have several great commanders, it’s just seems that they are all on or none of them are. Sadly we have at least one “bought” commander who isn’t even representing a guild…
It pains me to see 30 of our people endless getting slaughtered by a cluster of opposition, and no one has the brains to use siege to take advantage of the cluster situation. Likewise I hate when the enemy is using multiple trebs on an SM wall that has no opposition near by it, and our people just keep wasting supply to repair it while we have important upgrades being built. I like playing for BP, but sometimes it’s just frustrating.
