Take the leadership of the Skritt.
Organise a Skritt Zerg of 10,000 Skritt ( hive mind ), which would find shiny, yes, yes off most of the players here!! Shiny legendary, yes? Give us shiny!!
And with that Zerg you’d probably be able to beat Tequatl… that is until some of the Skritt make off with the “shiny cannon thing”
Suggestion: WvW server channel on Chat Panel
On Tarnished Coast our wvw community has been discussing methods to improve communication across borderland maps during wvw.
We concluded that a server wvw channel in the Chat Panel would alleviate many of our current frustrations, and also enhance our community.
How would this suggestion help us? A player with the outmanned buff is doing sentry duty on a waypointed TC Hills. He or she sees incoming BG zerg to the north. There are no commanders on map and no response for help in map chat so he goes to mumble (IF he has it downloaded) and scrambles to find a commander and zerg who is available to help. Often by the time this is done, the BG zerg is in the Lord’s Room because of the delay, and the Keep is lost. If we had a server cross borderland channel that SOS call would have been seen by all TC players in borderlands, and those in teamspeak, mumble or even not in third party voice coms, could respond. And let others know they are doing so. This would make wvw much more dynamic. Guilds could work together and coordinate easily. Our new players entering wvw for the first time who have no idea about voice coms, would understand our server objectives and how we are one server fighting ACROSS borderlands.
It also has the potential to be great for server morale. XX Guild takes SMC after a two hour battle with JQ. They announce the take in server channel. Other guilds, havoc groups, random players could offer congratulations from across all maps. It would really strengthen our feeling as one server.
Trolls could be blocked.
We move maps constantly. Please consider giving us a wvw server channel that crosses borderlands in our Tier. We use /m for map chat, our /t team chat is redundant, but a wvw server chat would definitely not be.
Thank you for your consideration.

Inb4 this was a calculated ‘leak’ so they can then ‘generously’ change the decision to show how ‘in touch’ they are with WvW players.
Say what
I’m just going to squash this rumor right now. Before the strong negative feedback received after the interview at gamescom, every intention was for each color to cost 300g. Pending QA, that version was ready to ship for the feature pack.
When the flood of feedback came in, there was a flurry of emails working out the best course of action, and in the end Zach and Tyler worked the weekend to make sure this change could be made on time for 9/9.
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to clarify that we did indeed change our plans based on your feedback. What was said during the interviews at Gamescom was correct at the time but after listening to what you had to say we decided to make a change to the feature be in line with what you felt was a more balanced approach to the change.
Thank you very much for your feedback and we hope that you enjoy this upcoming change.
Thanks,
John
I would really like to direct the thanks to Zach and Tyler both of them came in over the weekend to make sure the change got in on time in order to stay on schedule with our QA test plan. I greatly appreciate the work the team put in to make this happen on this short of a time frame.
The problem is what happens when your oppent (or even both of them) just rock up with 80 people in one big blob. Suddenly none of your teams (not even 2 combined) can deal with them and they will just rampage through the whole borderland taking one thing after another. Sure, you’ll cap things back very more quickly and effectively, but you will lose all your upgrades and generally weaken the BL by doing so.
The only way you’ll stop them is but uniting your three 25 man groups into one blob yourselfs and suddenly you have the exactly situation we do have. One huge blob on both sides with some smaller guilds/roamers hanging about doing other stuff.
Essentially the problem is there is no real counter, defensively, to an enermy blob other than making your own blob. If you are attacking a BL its different because if they are blob defending you can split up and attack multiple towers/keeps and it works great.. But when you’re defending and they are blobbing? There really is only one solution.

Suck it up dude. I finished my 100% map completion recently. Getting a legendary is matter of going through all game modes, I actually wish making one needed a pvp goal as well, but you can’t bring legendaries to pvp.
Wvw isn’t hard man I was there during peak of the season on Eredon Terrace, we are the absolute bottom server in wvw, but I still got my map completion easy.
Besides, I started enjoying wvw. It’s an awesome game mode. Try it out.
I’m almost certain that using ACs to hit stuff behind a gate isnt cheating, but they HAVE been known to use any less than respectable trick they can whenever possible. AKA invuln spot siege, camping in invuln spots off the cliffs. I dont usually actually dislike any enemy in this game, but some of FA have shown themselves to be both poor losers AND winners.
aaaand because we have a couple of stupid forum trolls, u put the whole server in one little box? ok yeah there are trolls that shoulder pad or whine in the forums…BUT tell me 1 server that doesnt have a forum troll like this!
yes im sure there is a few people on our server that use the arrow cart thing, but every server i have faced has a few people that do that. i have chased people to invul spots from both of your servers. my ac’s have been taken down with acs and dragontooth where it shouldn’t have been reached by both of your servers. so yeah u have the exact same trolls as we have and the exact same foul tactics users as we have.
so hating a server, because of forums trolls and a few unpleasant experiences in game, even though both of your servers do the exact same thing,is stupid!
i have met amazing fighters and great guilds from both of your servers and i had a ton of fun fighting both of u. i dont care if there is a few black sheep that troll a and use some foul tactics as i know that both of u fight hard and are great servers. our server is not very different from yours. we have people that love to roam, we have zerglings, we have coordinated guilds, we have fairweathers, we have trolls, we have people that scout, we have people that rp, and we have hillarious people same as u. and yes also people that get frustrated, jealous, angry, stupid, arrogant and drunk!
so please less drama, more fighting!

How about you go back to your pve land of friendship and courtesy?
Long have siege masters feared the dreadful day they have to go make 200 superior pieces of siege for their guild or WvW community. Why? Because you can only make one superior siege at a time, which takes quite a lot of time.
This could hopefully be fixed easily by making it possible to forge multiple items at once.
Simply: 250 Mithril Ore, 250 Elder Wood logs, 100 Rams and 50 Siege Master’s Guide would make 50 superior rams. Simply creating 1 superior ram takes 6 clicks/drags of an item. To make 200 superior siege that would then mean 1200 clicks/drags. One click per second would then mean that it would take 20 minutes of constant clicking to make that siege. It is not unreasonable to say that siege masters in communities make this much siege every 2nd week.
An item in the gem shop which would make it possible to forge 10 items at a time would probably be considered very valuable, and something I know many would buy. A sum of 200-300 gems for this item sounds appropriate.
What is wrong here?
The perception that transferring is a bad thing.
Why is this wrong?
Because any player, who bought this game with his own money, can do with it as he will.
And any player of whom no longer likes the environment or community should be able to move for greener pastures.
You will eventually find a place where you will fit in. And I am sure those who transferred to or off DB would be so.
So, instead of QQ as to why your acquaintances left a server for another server or even another game, simply think of what to do about it; so the remaining will stay, and also new transfers will come.

So, when are Asuras getting a 50% height/size increase in PVP ?
And an animation change in pvp.
If they do that, that means we will no longer have the fun and exciting game know as guess what weapon the asura is wielding now.

People saying TC caused this problem are pretty delusional. We didn’t choose this match up. Most people don’t even want this match up. We belong with T1 servers now, even if we will get our butts kicked (and we need it, based on the stupidity in the last match up thread…) simply because more & more people are coming to TC. People who keep track of this sort of thing know that it’s pretty imbalanced now. There was a time where FA could be within 20-30k points of us. Last matchups thread painted a different picture. :/
So yeah, don’t blame TC because people are coming here. Asking them to transfer off is also pretty rude. Still, I feel very bad for SoS/Mag. This match making system is stupid. You both deserve a prope opponent of equal or similar coverage, and so do we.
All you had to do was give us DB or a few T1 servers ANet…
So I figured I’d make this sorta guide because 99% of people seem to be clueless to combo fields and finishers, which makes me go what the %#@^!!! So, here’s a list of what combo finisher does what in each combo field. ET please read this!!!!!! >.<
Fire Field:
Leap- Grants you a fire aura(it burns anyone that attacks you)
Blast-Grants 3 stacks of might to 5 players including you in the area
Physical projectile-apply 1 sec of burning on the target you hit
Whirl-launches multiple projectiles that apply burning(1s)
Water Field:
Leap-decent Heal(2k or so)
Blast-Area Healing to 5 including yourself
Projectile-Apply regeneration to yourself for 2s
Whirl-launches healing bolts
Dark Field:
Leap-apply blindness on hit
Blast-area blindness
Projectile-Steal health with next hit(damage is based on you)
Whirl-Leeching bolts
Light Field:
Leap-grant retaliation to yourself for 5s
Blast-aoe retaliation for 3 secs
Projectile-remove a condition on hit
Whirl-cleansing bolts(remove multiple conditions)
Ethereal Field:
Leap-grant yourself Chaos Armor for 5s
Blast-aoe chaos armor for 3s
Projectile-apply confusion(5s) on hit
Whirl-confusing bolts(5s)
Ice Field:
Leap-Grant yourself Frost armor(5s)
Blast-aoe Frost armor 3s
Projectile-apply chill on hit
Whirl-chilling bolts
Poison Field:
Leap-weakness(8s) on hit
Blast-area weakness 5s
Projectile-apply poison (2s)
Whirl-poison bolts
Smoke Field:
Leap-grant stealth(3s)
Blast-aoe stealth 3s
Projectile-apply blind on hit
Whirl-blinding bolts
Lightning Field:
Leap-Dazing strike
Blast-aoe Swiftness
Projectile-apply vulnerability on hit
Whirl-Brutal bolts(honestly I’m not sure what these do, I think they apply vuln but I’m not 100%)

Or you can just go here and get much more information than I’m willing to give you, and if you land a finisher in a combo field you will almost always hear your character say something confirming a combo was made. How people can play without using combos is absolutely beyond me, your going to be missing out on ~50% of your efficiency in a fight if you don’t use them people!!!!!

Curious what the WvW community thinks about this, yea or nay:
1. Add binoculars to the Tower upgrade order form. Binocs can be upgraded to telescopes.
2. When binocs are purchased, several pairs of mounted binoculars spawn at corners and the highest points of the tower. They increase view distance by 1.5x, 360 degree swivel.
3. The telescope upgrade changes all the binocs to telescopes, increases view distance to 2.0x, 360 degrees.
4. When a sentry spots an enemy with the binocs/telescope at distance greater than 1.0x, they “tag” that enemy (only at a range greater than 1.0x, eg must use the binoc/scope). If that enemy dies within 1m of being tagged, the sentry gets a loot bag + WXP, even if the enemy runs out of sight after getting tagged. Works vs both roamers and entire zergs, but short tag duration requires coordination and quick response.
The benefits of such a scheme:
1. Makes sentrying more directly rewarding, provides another alternative to zerg WXP farming.
2. Makes towers fun to hang out in rather than just another PPT objective and sentrying chore.
3. Makes sentrying more unique and hence desirable – only place in the game you can see further than normal view distance.
4. A mini-game within WvW for the sentries – can you get your team to take out those you’ve tagged before the tag expires?
5. Adds to the strategic value of towers.
6. Gives players new to WvW and trepid about PvP another fun and useful way to contribute to the server’s efforts, get more PvE’ers enjoying WvW.

After much back and forth we’ve managed to get the matchup changes in starting today 5/31. What we were unable to get ready for today were changes to the leaderboards which would have made it easy to sort by matchup, thus the leaderboards will continue to display your server ranking, but will not have sufficient information for you to be able to determine your matchups on that page. We will get them updated as soon as we can, but in the meantime you will be put into new, more varied matchups starting today and going forward. I will, hopefully, be able to post the new matchups here when they go live so at the least everyone can have some idea of what they are.

Still running my old RRR build because why not
O O…dude I have the solution to this. I found out a few days ago when I fought this thief in WvW..
The first thing you do is use y…….
~This user was backstabbed repeatedly and died~
The build next week will be adjusting these times. To preempt our own release notes, all siege will now be 1 hour, with the exception of flame rams which will be 15 minutes. This should help and we will continue to evaluate these numbers as necessary.
Give people with the Commander Tag the ability to represent as a GUILD commander or a regular commander. Doing this would drastically reduce zerging and prompt more complex play and promote new strategies.
If it isn’t clear, a Guild Commander would be only visible to people currently representing the guild that the Guild Commander is representing.
Give Commanders the choice to pick like one of eight colors barring the blue that people already know and love. Gold, Red etc etc. This would help large groups run more than one guild commander on a map.
Promoting guild play in WvW would be healthy for long term player retention. This is Guild Wars after all…
With so many advantages to implementing a change like this, I have to ask: what is preventing this from happening? Is there some crazy limitation at play like the soul-bound WvW Blueprints?
I hope we see this happen. ~crosses fingers for a developer reply~

I present to you TCBL theater, featuring the guilds and militia of TC.
Scene opens
Defender: Oh look, it’s 4pm, everyone shut out the lights! Quickly now!
Defender 2: Shhh, keep quiet! Stop giggling, they’ll hear us!
Defender 3: Did someone bring in the cake? After four days in a row of this, we MUST serve cake!
Defender: Yeah the cake’s all set up and we’re hiding inside it.
Defender 5: Someone’s touching me!
Defender 2: Gah, I got icing in my hair!
Defender 3: Shhhh! They’ll hear us!
DB comes onto map at the same darn time as the previous four days.
Defender 2: They’re here!
Defender 4: *giggles
Defender: Ok everyone out of the cake!!
In unison: SURPRISE!!!
*all defenders bow
/scene ends.
No.
Guild Wars 2 WvWvW should be accessible for all types of people. I want a wide player base, not just some elitistic people.
I have myself four level 80 characters and even my lowest level character has elite skill and gear up to her level. My main of course has full exotic/ascended gear. Still I have accepted even level 2 guardian to my team.
Several times when I have arrived to our borderlands it has been almost empty. Me and few upleveled characters. Enemy controlling the entire map. And I belong to an inactive guild. Should I just rage quit? No. I put on my commander tag and usually 1-2 hours later we control big part of the map. Even the low level PuGs are useful. Their stats are not as bad as you might think. Anybody can carry at least 10 supplies, build and use siege. And when you have some people following you, more people will follow you instead of leaving the map. When you manage to capture couple of towers and supplies camps, people see that next you can take the keep. And so on. Positive things keep on piling.
You should be more worried of those AFK people who are taking the valuable slots. Or people who just sit inside their towers and keeps and don’t actually fight.
Never underestimate the power of PuGs. Good skill and coordination wins over gear and levels. I much rather have an upleveled PuG with green gear, who follows my commands, than a full exotic level 80 who just sits.

Only a WvW player understands that the reason cops appear at the local Quiktrip seemingly out of nowhere is because they’ve built a waypoint there.
Only a WvW player mistakingly calls family he/she meets at a reunion yet hasn’t seen in recent years prior “pugs.”
Only a WvW player can desire points for walking their dolyak.
Only a WvW player would ask a supermarket cashier if Mountain Dew comes with a buff to toughness. (When in actuality, it comes with a buff to alertness. Ha! Double joke ftw! Rebounded off the 4th wall to boot.)
Only a WvW player sees a girl on the side of the road using the /cry emote because her car broke down, then screams in ‘map chat’, “It’s a trap! The rest of her zerg is hiding behind those rocks!”
Only a WvW player watches a ‘When Animals Attack’ documentary on television and says, “Kitten… rangers are becoming OP…”
Only a WvW player would use, “I can’t, it will drain my stamina and I’ll be unable to dodge,” as an excuse to their spouse to avoid marital shenanigans.

No. Servers that scrap their way up to T2 do not simply get smacked back down. It is known.
Welcome, Dragonbrand. And hats off to you and FA...
One does not simply walk into Tier 2. Its borderland gates are guarded by more than just zergs. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the forum trolls are ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very words you type are poisonous fumes. Hundreds of gamers could help you do this. And it’ll be fun.
