moa has shorter cooldown then elementalist stun break skills (no shout stun break is not viable…) :-D and its currently the most overpowered duelist ingame even without moa. you dont even need utility skills to beat everything 1v1 :-D

I want to practise classes when my team can’t play much but it feels like I’m farming people in WvW. The matchmaking is so unbiased currently that I can queue at peak time and get maybe one or two names I recognise in each match.

I’m just going to copy and paste what I said in a previous thread, because it’s still a good fix to the broken mechanic.
Solution: Diamond skin – Reduces the duration of all incoming conditions by 40%
That way you could take runes of the hoelbrak with it and have 60% reduced incoming condition duration, which is a good trade off and balanced imo as opposed to the hard counter it is now. No single trait should grant immunity to one side of the damage spectrum based off your health percentage. Overall reduced incoming condition duration is the right solution, and a balanced one.

Okay… I would like to clear up some misconceptions here. Thief is not unviable because it’s badly balanced. It is unviable because of a few small details.
Dragonhunter, which is practically a stronger meditation guard, is viable. Meditation guard was renowned for countering thief but dragonhunter takes this to a new level with reliable ranged spikes and a trap that does high damage when crossed. Dragon’s maw is the unnecessary nail in the coffin in this matchup. Sadly, fixing the trap is not easy for anet as it would mean changing the way ports work, which also affects all other classes.
Revenant is strong against thief quite obviously because of the ports which have been addressed slightly (though I still disagree with them doing damage). The instant cast reveal in glint also doesn’t seem fair at all to me and I’m certain revenant would be viable without it. If you removed this and the reveal by scrapper elite I think daredevil stealth builds would still have a place in the meta.
Okay so now lets look at this from a different angle… I have played against sizer and another thief I will not name and I can comfortably say that sd and dp thief can 1v1 a power revenant after practising the duel, however it is difficult and honestly in comparison sizer is lacking here. Sizer is a good player but he is out of practise and should not be used to represent the state of the meta.
The problem I have noticed for thieves is staying alive in a team fight but I get the feeling that this is because thieves aren’t playing against revenants as they should be. Playing Sd against revenant and dh is also not something I consider smart as you will be easily targeted, preventing decaps and making you easy to focus whilst also having problems with ports across test of faith.
I think the daredevil trait line itself is very nice but I have no opinion on staff. If Anet would address the issues with reveal for the sake of making a class viable rather than aiming for power creep then I would very much appreciate this. Thieves need stealth in this meta.

This is too random, Elementalists can already achieve 100% uptime of swiftness very easily. This is still an incredibly boring trait. I already suggested 4 secs of superspeed instead.
I really think this is a necessary change. The whole point should be to allow us to hit with our overloads but considering everyone else will have swiftness too this trait hardly seems effective in practise.
Also, many of the traits seem quite weak compared to the other trait lines. That seems to be the main downfall of the elite specialisation.
Please don’t do this baby.

[Shiro] Riposting shadows – The endurance gain from this needs to be reduced by at least 50%. Energy change from 30 to 25.
[Mallyx] Unyielding anguish – Should pulse 3 times, not 4. Energy reduced from 35 to 30. Should not work against people with stability.
Would appreciate it if people could add to the list of things potentially destructive for spvp.

Please consider disabling this in rune sPvP.
It acts to make bad play too forgiving and also ruins the experience for viewers.
I genuinely believe that removing this is in both yours and our best interest.

The scaling coefficient for elementalist dagger skills compared to many other meta builds is actually quite high so I don’t think this is the issue.
I think if fire line is nerfed enough then the class will be in line with most other meta builds. Earth lacks a lot of damage in comparison and is still quite selfish. Most of the damage comes from burning currently, which scales incredibly well with might.
Reducing access to might or burning will have a much larger impact on bruiser celestial dd than another realistic elementalist role.

I’m not only concerned at how ele will be lacking in support and self-sustain… but even without celestial amulet these traits were required because the class lacks in base defense. Without the stats tied to trait lines there is no longer a large defensive increase in water attunement so the situation would be a lot worse than previously. It would be essential to go into arcana for defensive capabilities.
If this change goes through then the class is completely unviable in any sense in the absence of celestial amulet, which is already taking a hit. Tbh considering how cantrips are the defensive tool and are already being utilised, the elite specialisation is not going to fix this… there is really no reason to take an ele over the new improved engi.
Will the boost to base stats be equal for all classes, meaning we will have less disproportionate health pools across classes?
For the elementalist fresh air build, a lot of the benefits revolve around traits being within the trait line which provides complementary precision and ferocity. Without this, an already below optimal build won’t be used nearly as much. Do you plan on buffing the scepter in any sense to compensate for this damage loss or will you be changing amulets to add the points which were gained through taking a crit based damage trait line?

Yeah for the majority of players it sucks because in the que type they play most their win rate will generally be higher but Wins/Losses has never really been an accurate because some players used second accounts after becoming a strong player whilst others simply didn’t take PvP seriously for a long time resulting in careless losses and are stuck with these on their record.
Resetting the the ratios on the leaderboard but storing them in the pvp record in game for your own viewing could be a nice solution as the new matchmaking won’t cause a huge fluctuation in ratios due to the intended better matchmaking. It will be harder to identify people by their experience however the ladder will hopefully show skill over the time it is present.
Those are some pretty nice sounding changes IMO. Shame on you for releasing them during my exams.
