Seriously. It’s been like forever since we got good PvE patch. Even current patch has arenas where you fight npcs. Like WTF. WHERE IS MY PVE. WHERE IS MY WVW WEAPON. TOO MUCH PVP. SORT IT NOOBS.

Perhaps when in que for solo arena you could vote for which map you’d like to play. Ofc this would be unknown to other players in soloq and the map would be decided once the opposing teams are formed, preventing any alteration based on team setups. Generally this would please the majority of players as the map selected will be based on the vote majority.

This would prevent people only playing on the map they’re best or optimal in through guaranteed map selection but would also avoid incidents where we’re forced to play on a map that the majority clearly do not want to play on.

In general I believe this would make people a lot happier!

They should have a separate stat that say “win:lose percentage for the last 100 matches”

As someone who spent most of his time trolling or testing builds in soloq when ele wasn’t even viable I find my win/lose ratio quite embarrassing now I play soloq a lot more seriously.

Agree with everything. But it would take too much work to actually restructure the whole game, if we look at the little work they did in 2 years. I suggest to quit the game like I and many others did and wait for GW3.

With the current development and the company behind it, this game has absolutely no future PvP-wise.

The most vital period for a company to develop on part of a game is when the active community is largest. Considering that we are now very far from that active peak it is illogical to think that they would begin dedicating more resources to sPvP than they previously did.

I’d be happy with two small changes.

1. Remove rune of strength from PvP
2. Lower burn durations

I would rather they adjust runes of strength so that the might supplied by the runes is largely reduced in duration as well as the damage moved back to a 5% increase rather than have them removed.

I do not enjoy the idea of having a pet parrot.

PvErs do not pay for our game. The majority of money they spend outside of the box goes to another company to fund other things. The small amount that is kept is used to implement more PvE content and rarely ever do we see anything that the dedicated PvP community wants implemented but instead those very rare updates on PvP are more pleasing towards the PvE community.

In fact right now the majority of dedicated PvPers have left the game and all that’s remaining is an entirely new crowd of temporary players. There is a serious lack of skill based reward and it’s very upsetting to see the remaining players disappear.

Since the mega server there has been a huge increase of egotistic people in the matches. I used to be able to go 10-20 games without someone telling someone they suck at the game or to “QQ”. Since this update ……Every kittenING GAME!

If you don’t have something nice to say…..Keep you kittening mouth shut.

If you want to hurt people’s feelings just to make yourself feel good. kitten off back to Call of Duty.

Just as you are entitled to run around playing in whatever manner you like even though it may cause your team to lose so are other people entitled to tell you that you’re doing this. I’m so tired of these threads.

If it upsets you this much then perhaps it’s you that should be playing another game.

I hate to be the guy who derails the OP-faceroll/not OP-faceroll train, but could someone explain the main strengths/weaknesses/combos of the current D/D ele? They seem to be a pain to fight, but that may just be because I don’t know what exactly to dodge/interrupt and when to unload condis onto them.

I’ll explain the basics for you assuming you’re fighting one on a point. Firstly you need to keep an eye on their attunements, whether it’s through looking at their status or recognising their skills.

Their main burst comes from fire attunement as well as a strong portion of sustained damage through burning. A decent way to counter this is to stay at very close range to them when they’re in fire to avoid being hit by burning speed as well as running through them to position yourself behind them when they start casting drakes breath. Save your condition removal for after they use their burning skills or when they switch out of fire. Fire grab is normally casted at the same time as they switch out of an attunement for fury to increase crit chance so it usually comes late into the fire attunement. Dodging this skill and removing burning before it hits is important.

They are most vulnerable after switching out of water attunement or using their water healing abilities (watch for dodge roll) as this means they have less access to condition removal and healing.

Applying conditions and CC on them during lightning attunement would be wise as this is their main source of CC and sustained power damage with a decent amount of cleave. The reason you want to apply conditions now is because this attunement is normally the only one that is beneficial for them to stay in despite having skills on cooldown and so forcing them to switch back into water to remove conditions or focus on defensive play could prevent some damage on yourself.

When they are in earth you have 2 skills that you should truly watch out for. Magnetic grasp and earthquake are effectively lockdown skills that will make you vulnerable to their fire burst. Earthquake is very easy to avoid by dodging, magnetic grasp not so much. If you get hit by earth 5 though you’re just a noob.

You get a bunch more money and progression in Soloque.. plus there’s a cap on how much you can progress in hotjoin..

The amount of time wasted waiting for a soloq match should be taken into account as well as your chance of winning when compared to the easily maxed out score and guaranteed win in hotjoin where joining a match takes seconds.

Honestly, all I want is some incentive to play.

I get better track progression by lying in my bed that’s 2 and a half meters away from my screen whilst doing hotjoin with a crappy wireless mouse that takes away my ability to dodge and port as opposed to beating some of the best EU players in soloq.

Adding a ladder system based on wins and losses (better than nothing) with increased track progression dependent on either your position on the ladder or the opposing teams total ladder position (better IMO) would make a lot of people happy. Obviously this is just a temporary solution which could be expanded on.

We need a reason to be competitive and you’re not giving us one.

You acquired 15 deaths on Skyhammer, I’m sorry to say this but you really need to work on your strategy, teamwork and map control. I would have to say that the most I have ever died on this map was about three times. You could say that my map presence is very good, my team utilization is very good and well im a ranger so I just kitten most people off with my conditions(especially warriors). That aside, take some time to learn the map, learn the little jump pads, learn the little cubby holes near point A and C, were you can basically not stick out while you are trying to cap.

That or from what you put you do not understand when to go balls deep or when to retreat. Here I will point it out for you, since im in a very generous mood tonight. It all depends on the class of your opponent, your class, etc. Read below for my quick breakdown.

Again this is from a ranger standpoint so ya

Warrior: It is CRUCIAL that you keep your range to max, do not let them get to you in any form otherwise you lose, period the end. To sum this up bleed them as fast as you can and they will eventually fall over before they get to you.
Guardian: Follow the same strategy as the warrior however keeping up that range isn’t as important as when fighting a warrior. IF POSSIBLE have a melee toon keep the guardian busy while you just peg him down.
Necromancer: This is probably the easiest encounter you will ever have. There are a few things that you need to look out for. These are #1: If he is in either death shroud form or lich form, keep MAX distance(think of the warrior scenario again). These forms don’t last too long but if you are in range of these forms, its bad news for you. Now besides the forms just keep distance, use your pet to soak up their damage and basically bleed them out.
Engineer: This is a very interesting fight, it is never the same thing twice. If the engineer is a turret spec then basically use your pet to keep him busy while you burn his most important turrets(healing and net). Bomber spec, just keep your distance and use a tanker pet for the bombing duration, when it goes on cooldown switch to max dps pet. Any other engineer specs I have either not seen yet in pvp or are infantile to mention.
Mage: This is by far the most annoying fight you will ever be engaged in. Mages hit hard, move hard, play defense hard and are just all around a huge pain to deal with. Now i know most of you are saying yea yea mages are easy blah blah, but take my word for it, that is far from it. To beat a mage you need to understand their schools of magic. Fire(big damage), earth( big defense), Water(big heals), Air(i forgot what this one does). What i would recommend is DO NOT let them witch schools on you. Do whatever you have to do to prevent this. If you can do this(not many people can) than just burn the mage down.
Theif: HAHA this can either be the easiest thing ever or the worst nightmare ever. To shorten this part up, DO NOT LET THE THEIF GET BEHIND YOU, if you let them behind you, JUST QUIT AS YOUR DONE. If you can keep them from getting behind you, focus fire to the max, they die rather quickly
Ranger: This comes down to spec basically. These fights usually take a very long time to complete because each ranger is doing basically the same thing. So take this one with a grain of salt.
and FINALLY THE WORST OF THE WORST
Mesmer: I have no info to put here but one thing. Watch the animations of all the clones and when you find the one that is actually casting you get him. Another trick is to tab target each one, when you find the one with signets on you have found the real one. Besides that I normally just hit the road and let them believe that they won the fight. I just come back with a warrior or thief and watch them go down and laugh to myself.

So in closing let me say this

1: Learn your class mechanics
2: Learn the opposing class mechanics
3: Learn the spvp map mechanics
4: Learn to coordinate with your team(i know this is very stupid, as most players dont understand anything, so yes i know your pain)
5: Learn the timings or the behaviors of a specific map(example: skyhammer- you know the first thing your opponent will do is to go for point B so they can also jump down and utilize the cannon facility)— so stop that

and lastly I know this is alot but just have fun do what you wan to do. I just wrote this to teach you somethings, i hope it helped.

I think you’re probably the first person since launch to ask for more healing power gear.

This is not true. Many players requested a zealot amulet to be released with the feature patch to be effective for both guardians and elementalists. The release of celestial amulet and buffing of strength runes however created strong build opportunity for both classes. Despite this I would still like to see zealot amulet added to benefit fresh air and meditation builds.

Regardless of what is said the new rank system rewards players for each rank obtained and matches still reward silver for standing still on a point whilst eating your lunch.

And camping at a champ spawn location that a champ chain runs through is about as profitable as that. What are you driving at?

If you can’t see how this will become a huge issue when the new dungeon track system is released then I’ve run out of patience.

If I gave you a list of many administrator names on the rank farm servers would you do anything about it or would you give me an infraction?

These servers have been fairly obvious for a long time now and no effort has been made to remove them. If I sat on a rock in PvE and 10 skelk ran up to me dying and giving me loot you would remove this possibility from the game instantly and punish any players doing it in excess.

Now that PvP rewards silver as well surely someone with the ability to remove the servers will at least read through them?

I just wanted to give you guys a quick update. Based on your feedback, we’ve decided not to add Runes of Perplexity to PvP in the 4/15 Feature Pack. We’ll be monitoring the balance of runes closely, making more tweaks if necessary, and revisiting the possibility of adding Runes of Perplexity to PvP at a later point.

ALSO with the change to jewels, will I still be able to run soldier zerker, or carrior rabid or whatever?

Everyone in the upper mid 50’s and up will become a Dragon!

I hope this is a bad joke, otherwise that really is disgusting treatment towards the playerbase.

There is no reason to make the rank so easily attainable if it has close to no value however those that have grinded well above these ranks in an attempt to achieve rank 80 have dedicated months upon months of their life and most likely still value the rank that makes them unique.

A grandmaster trait for fire line which adds a knockdown effect to specific fire skills.

Main-hand dagger- burning speed
Off-hand dagger- ring of fire
Scepter- dragons tooth
Focus- Flamewall
Staff- meteor shower

This would not only have made fire line builds viable but daggers as well.

GIVE ME THE WHEEL I CAN’T TAKE THIS ANYMORE.

P.S. the new arcane trait is much worse than a trait that used to be adept tier…

As an altoholic, I feel your pain. I’ll need to take a look at the data tomorrow, find out just how common re-rolling is for PvPers.

It’s not uncommon for the more serious PvPers to have multiple alts of the same class for fast switching to certain builds. For example I have two for my Elementalist and would probably have 4 or more if the class was viable.

This is one of the reasons that new traits unlocks not being account wide is such a large issue. If given the option to store and fast switch trait builds this would solve a lot of the problems.

Works the same on air/earth attunement, and procs from a bug with Phoenix.

If you’re theorycrafting for the patch however I suggest you try burning precision (or whatever it’s called) adept trait in fire. You’ll get the same effect and the 10% fire damage loss can be avoided by swapping to air mid cast of Phoenix.

I’m using both tbh. Burning precision is too infrequent to take full advantage of the 5 second blind cd but combined it triggers often enough. The burning duration from burning precision is also too low and I’m testing out a scepter/dagger build to take full advantage of an almost 100% burn uptime on focussed target.

For example if I throw a phoenix through a target there’s a high probability that it will burn before the explosion and movement back. Plus a great possiblity when switching to air and hitting 2 whilst casting fire grab. It’s a strong build I won’t lie.

Take reduced fire skill cds as they really benefit a lot from this build.

Also a funny tip, when a thief stealths you can use fire 4 and stand inside it to blind him.

Posting this here because it needs addressing before the feature patch or a potentially strong build may be damaged.

I’ve found that when using this skill in fire attunement and triggering the burning I am sometimes burnt instead of the golem. Please fix this.
