hi,

i played WvW for the first 3 year exclusively every night. Then we got the level system i played again and again. With HoT i played less WvW to do raiding and the new content but still had at elast 2/3 days/week on WvW.

I play Pvp only when guildies want to play in group for the fun of being together in it. I am level 2646 in WvW and real avenger at 112k none in edge of the mist. i was not even ranked in the last pvp season with 6 match only.

Today i was able to craft a legendary piece of armor from the Pvp one. I still do not have enough ressources to craft any of the mcm one.

5 years vs a few days and i can craft one pvp piece and not the mcm one…..

i am happy with the armor comming and happy with the glidding but i feel that people with long overdue of rewards after 4.9 years without ANYTHING should have been given a little push here like a special discount for level 1000, level 2000, level 3000 etc..

i cannot undertsand why they put high cost and augmented the ticket per weeks instead of the reverse because it completly undermine the xx weeks efforts we made to gain only 1/3 of tickets.. cannot understand that

Well this happen on daily basis in Pvp and this does not serve the goal of creating community. Each time you do competition it drive this as human nature is what is it, simple animals pretending to be more

Anyway i understand the argument of stalling if the enemy was more uniquely defined. Also my feeling is perhaps narrow because mid/high level servers just see the same guys over and over and one time with you, the next against you. This prevents all commmunity buildup for me and i completly lost any love to play. TS wisper lists are dead, each server of the 3 that fight along side are using different means of communication.. etc…Rigth now i am simply lost.

Without a vilain, WvW is meaningless ?

i am here since the alpha, i spent most of the years on Wvw but now i do not go in WvW anymore now. There is something essential to me in it is that you have to build a reason to continue doing the very same thing over and over for years. That thing is the competition for your “realm”/“race”/“whatever” against an everlasting enemy you build against.

Now we have no more an enemy to hate and build against. The servers are switching so one day your friend is your enemy of the next day. You cannot have vocal , forums etc build for that as there is no more a single unit against another one.

The fights are meaningless as you figth with the “strangers of the day”.

Dark Age of camelott understand that. You had the “hairy” vickings against the “girly” arthurian etc.. you had someone to be proud and someone to gamely hate and compete against and show them ! This is key incentive you have to have a good vilain in a movie to have real meaning of the fight of the “good guys”.

I really hope you will rethink this and not mainly mecanics and lags but as primary target the psychology of WvW. Without anything at stake this is just a flat terrain with open group unbalanced pvp. And WvW could be so much more.

What i think it really need : a clear enemy to hate and figth. Community will build with ease around this Roleplayed “hate”/“competition”.

Server pride was not a real good one but it was one. We lost it so there is nothing left. There is no stake at winning anything or capturing anything.

Just my 2 cents …

well you never took a 5 hammer from a zerk revenant then, in zerk this is one shot and i meet so many revenant that do more damage than our wells just by spamming 3/5 hammer that i really felt it (and no, in large groups you cannot dodge them each time)

for the daze i agree most of the time it fails for strange reason but for the 5 it is useless…unless traited with the vampiric line with each hit vampiric heal and dmg ,this is quite a good skill to charge you health and your DS, 5 WH then DS and rampage in the melee is a good combo imho.

Also some skills that hit you for 15k but you should notice them in the combat log, well not all time as the combat log just print some random stuff when it wants but sometime you can spot most of the hits in it. well when it get out of beta you will get all the informations in it.

i would so love to know the % of poison vs direct vs bleed vs tourment damage i do. This would really tell me if i need to go krait+sinister instead of those incredibly costly viper stuff (especialy the jewelry that need a lot of raiding to get). i dont want to spend 120 gold to test if krait + sinister is better than viper+ berserker or thorns or afflicted or..whatever.

people consider the necro sub part somethime because it can do as good as others but without giving any “plus” to the team. Warriors, mesmers, rangers, revenant etc.. all do their stuff while buffing the party, the necro allmost do nothing as they self buff and stack vulnerability where all classes make vulnerability so this is not usefull here.

- no might buff
- no fury buff
- no mobility boost
- no direct dmg boost (or indirect, vulnerability is allready provided by everybody’s auto attacks nowadays)
- no efficient team heal
- no quickness/alacrity etc..

So necro are loved for their special mecanics for “those who know”:

- vampiric for the party
- epidemic !
- condi transfer
- boon corruption
- good condi damage, good direct damage AT RANGE
- one of the, if not the, best dps uptime of the game

all those are indirect help compared to direct help other classes provides. This lead to least apparent usefullness, this does not mean you are less usefull to a team, just they notice less.

i think what they beleive and what they get is quite a different story, not all are dnt type premadde team groups. wait no, USUALY groups are not like this they play the class they love and will not switch because we could lack this and that.

necros are also complaining the same so seems everyone is sub par.

As a general comment , those golems tests are sad for a lot of reasons

- MOST do no say what condition they used, so comparison is not possible (food or not food ?? well yes 30 condi duration matters !)
- most use the standind golem
- most use quickness so all channelled skill are in OP mode
- most say yes indeed in all party i am playing with i run with perma 25 might, perma alacryty, perma quickness, perma all of the boon, and the boss has instant perma all the condis and never loose them without anyone carrying to apply them so test with build that never put any of the condi you need to actually go near that dps you showed.

well those test give dps against situation that never arise but in elite few percent that can maintain MOST of their rotation and damage in real scenarios. Just using the moving golem see most of people drop dps like crazy.

Most of mob/boss/players move and do stuff and dps uptime is then a completly diffferent story. You cannot compare a necro range condi dps to a contact burn engi dps or a condi druid as as soon they have to move away more than 150 range their dps drop like a rock.

Anyway this is cool to test rotations but for the sheer numbers most of them are completly boggus in all the content you play in the game.

happy they are here for the test, unhappy to see what crap people put on reddit about the REAL DPS values of classes (in completly bogus imaginary world) ! They even use build tweak dspecialy made for this “encounter” …

well necromancer shroud is the core mecanic so you mean this is normal that necro loose all signet for half their fight time.. seems harsh to me.

when you say not only necro you mean others in 0.2% of their time suffer from it where necro suffer this extensively imho

the fact that you cannot use them is okay. The fact that they disapear from existence is not imho.

This is not a simple transform we talk about, this is the core mecanic of the class where you can spend half a fight in.

i made a post on the bug forum but i should ask here too. Do you find normal that passive signet effect do not apply in shroud ?

I mean we seems the only class with core mecanic that remove our signet or am i misslead here ?

i tried locust and spite and in pve/wvw each time the passive bonus disapear in shroud.

in necromancer Death Magic trait lines, if you use

deadly strenght
and
corrupted fervor

any stack or minions you have can increase the thoughness but those are not counted in the “deadly strenght” bonus at all. I get the same bonus with or without stack of fervor or for any number of minions with me. Food count but not traits.

hi,

i tested a necromancer signet of spite. as soon as i F1 into death shroud i loose the 180 power !

I also tested the signet of the locust and i also loose the speed.

Those tests were done in WvW.

well i am glad everyone seems to agree an history score page would be a very nice thing for the last or more match with some stats helping us understand how the match was handled by the players.

hope this will appear eventually and Anet will see the need for this. At least not let us 5s to read all and then kick us from the arena.

Some days ago i did in the Beta a stronghold, in the match we were VERY close, each team at the lord on a big figth. Then one team win and i continue the figth until i get out. Then i wonder.. did we win or not ?

I will tell you one INCREDIBLE thing in gw2 pvp: there is no way to know !! no logs , no messages , no way to see your score or anything !! You have 3 second to react and read all the stats and if you do not because your are gaming then.. you don’t even know if you win

This is incredible lack, did you imagine end of a match in Leagues of legend with no score at the end ?

Please refrain from the “you should have watched”, “3second is more than enough” or “it is not 3s but 5s” remarks, all this is not the point. You can finish a pvp match with no way of knowing if you winned or not and you have in any case no way to see the stats of the last match you have done.

am i the only one that is bothered by this ?

hi,

I play rangd classes and really line of sigth is so broken in mcm ! i loose duels, i cannot teleport in a stair, i cannot even kill a rabit ! how come this is still such a big issue afte so many time passed by. This is frustrating !

Again the commander tag is broken as it completly hidden UNDER player’s name.

The commander tag is simply impossible to see in any crowded area rendering it useless in WvW or any big scale event where it was created for.

This tag is broken so often we wonder why use it at all. When not hidden by backpack piece like the wing, not showing in mini map because the blue glowing point of the group member is over it and hide it etc…

The tag should be the top thing showing above anything else. Also 4 colors is not enough or at least give us 2 symbol, one commander and one for organisational units.
