People are also going down in queue spots, they start off at spot 15 then move to spot 30. We don’t have many people in any maps by the looks of it, yet there are 30+ queues.

Someone should lose his job I think. More than a year and still they can find NO SOLUTION to this issue and if they do something, it only exacerbates the situation and makes it unplayable.

Or maybe solving this would cost money and Anet comes with a reasoning like:
(Lag in WvW doesn’t make people quit the game) => (no financial loss from it) => (no point investing money to help it) => (leave it as it is and ignore the community)

I doubt Anet would ever outwardly ignore the community. They obviously want all players to have the best gameplay experience as possible. Lag is certainly an issue that they are aware of and are constantly trying to fix. It may seem like they’re ignoring the community sometimes, but Anet has said that they read a lot of what we write – just that they can’t reply to every single thing.

It’s not one person’s job to be in charge of lag control, and no one should be losing their job just because of this. It’s not something they can fix in a day.

The point of this thread was to report unusual lag and disconnects from EB in the FA/IoJ/ SBI matchup, not to criticize how people do their jobs. If you want to discuss the more general issue of lag in the game, you can take a look at and contribute to this thread.

Yeah, the lag/DC’s for EB in the FA/SBI/IoJ matchup are pretty bad.

It seems to only be EB; the BL’s don’t have DC issues.

Whoever this [BS] comm is, props to you! I’ve seen you leading zergs around on numerous occasions during this week, and they generally tend to be pretty nasty. I have noticed that your zergs always tend to be huge (35-45ish), which sorta sucks, but I’m sure BP loves you for all the karma you’ve been giving them

I think this was fixed in the patch last night, I can see the recipe on the TP now too. Even if you just search “Light of Dwayna” (without the “recipe:” part), it should still come up. I have never possessed nor do I currently possess the recipe, so it should be showing up for everyone.

If not, what would you do to improve rank acquisition?

I think the rate of rank acquisition should be accelerated. It took me 7 months of semi-hardcore play to reach rank 51 (564,000 points). To reach the coveted dragon rank I would need nearly 9,000,000 points (and as high as 15,000,000 to attain the Legendary Champion title). If I maintain my rather unhealthy rate of play, it would take a total of 9.5 years (I assume we’d be well into GW3 by that point)… Neither hardcore nor casual players have any hope of achieving this absurd goal. Therefore, my thought is to keep the ranking system, but to rapidly increase the amount of rank points awarded.

For example, I would favor the following formula:

  • Hotjoin: win = 800 points / loss = 300 points.
  • Solo Queue: win = 1,600 points / loss = 600 points.
  • Team Queue: win = 2,000 points / loss = 900 points.

At the same time, I think top stats should have their values increased: say, from 5 to 50 points per top stat.

If a scheme of this nature were ever implemented, it would be nice to see a rollback for a player’s previous accomplishments (it simply wouldn’t fair to older players). For example, you could take the top stats for all players and multiply it by a factor of 10, adjusting their ranks accordingly. Rolling back a player’s hotjoin, solo queue and tournament wins shouldn’t be much harder to execute, as these numbers are already in your database. So, if a player has 1,000 team arena wins, they’d at least be compensated in light of the new system. Likewise, with hotjoin and solo queue.

I like this idea, it’s similar to what happened in WvW a while after WXP was introduced. There was an increase in WXP gained for doing anything across the board. It’s a lot more satisfying now seeing “+1,000 WXP” after capturing a keep, rather than whatever the lower number was before. It makes ranks seem a little less grindy and more accessible than they used to be. I would imagine it would have the same effect on PVP.

However, if this was implemented, it would be extremely important to have some sort of retroactive rewards, or else many older players would feel like they’re being treated unfairly.

“Once this new system is in place, glory will be retired as a currency, and gold will be the standard currency across the game. All existing glory vendors will be removed at this time. We will give advance warning when this is coming so you can spend all of your existing glory before that happens.”

As of right now, I wouldn’t really worry about spending all your glory.

How to fix the WvW problem:

1. Create new server names or team names specifically for WvW. Current server names stay the same, and WvW still is open for them.

2. Allocate X amount of spots for each server for people to sign up to represent. When spots are full, they close that server of sign-ups. A time-limit listed until sign ups are closed altogether and servers are made live. Charge a fee to sign up on these servers initially.

3. Repeat until all players are allocated among the servers. Servers that aren’t full, the player base is distributed with the other servers.

4. Launch.

5. Population problems fixed.

Be sure to separate servers depending on geographical locations. European, Asian, and NA. NA IP’s cannot sign up for an Asian server; so on so forth.

Prime-times will be consistent, and coverage gaps will be minimized as well as population differences.

It will be up to each team to coordinate and organize against the others.

Oh man… that SM threeway half an hour ago. Lord got bannered at least five times lol.

Also, the fight at AP was fun. Both walls down. SF pushed and got wiped; GoM’s portal bomb didn’t work out so well.

Good sized zergs from all servers tonight, though! Really looking forward to the fights from this matchup based on what we’ve seen today.

I remember seeing reports about this bug, but forum searches did not return any results.

I’m on Henge of Denravi.

I have a level 80 human female elementalist, and after using the Dagger/Dagger “Ride the Lightning” skill, my sound bugged out. I wasn’t in a party at the time.

This occurred in the HoD (Blue) Borderlands near the southwest tower (I don’t believe location affects this bug, but I could be wrong.)

It occurred very randomly right after using the skill and the Ride the Lightning sound effect overrode all other sounds in-game. Turning down all volume settings in the options panel of the game did not affect the sound file; it continued at the same volume on a constant loop.

Exiting the game and restarting the client fixed the sound issue.

well, sometimes I think its good if obvious stuff is spelled out clearly. Public WvW groups don’t necessarily have the same understandings as Guild led groups.
I don’t consider these points whining (Andrew) and don’t think online groups are an excuse for being jerks..

Btw, I was by no means saying this was a whiny post. I think you actually wrote it really well, stating the problem and providing reasonable solutions (While some other posts on the forums simply complain and blame people, not being constructive at all.)

Ultimately, your post is just some solid advice for all PUG commanders and PUG groups out there, regardless of server/league/tier.

Way too many exploits going on in HoD BL. Hills was literally flipped by Kain with no gates down, and FC ressing dead mesmers through gates three times is a bit much. (I know that you guys aren’t the only ones who exploit… but come on.)

I’ve been on HoD since the beginning, and there are some really great people and guilds on here! I spend most of my time in WvW and rarely have a bad experience. Commanders are great and are treated with respect, and you really feel like you make a difference as an individual during each matchup. Like OP mentioned, HoD isn’t a “zerg everything” type of server. Whether you are a roamer, enjoy running with small groups, or want to get in on organized zerg action, there will always be something for you. The people on HoD are extremely friendly. There are always newbies asking questions in map chat, and they are answered politely (ie, not “what a n00b get out of wvw if u dont know what ur doing”). Not only in WvW, but the entire community on HoD is amazing. We love fielding big numbers on reset night, which is always a blast! Again, there are many guilds on HoD (whether they are focused on PvE, dungeons, fractals, WvW, or a mixture of everything) and you will surely find a place where you fit in. Finally, with the first ever leagues season coming up, HoD will be a strong server in the bronze league, and we hope that you become a part of our community here!

I feel bad for you Ebay, because as you guys have probably experienced it’s going to be an absolute ghost town out there.

I don’t know about Kaineng because as a former bandwagon server, it’s really hard to judge what’s normal for them, but HoD is actually putting out a fair amount of people. It’s surprising all of us on EBay, really. We sorta expected Kaineng to be putting out people, given that they’re what, like 5 ranks above HoD?

Regardless of their skill or population level, HoD at least still has the balls to keep going. I like ‘em. It’s really surprising they’re not ranked higher ’cause they can really put out the people.

Kain (15) is only 2 ranks above HoD (17) right now.

Oh man… that fight at Kain Keep in EB a minute ago. We pvdoored outer in about 3 mins and we saw orange swords at Lord’s, we burst in at the same time as EB and capped the keep in 6 minutes . It was a fun cuddle sesh lol <3

Had fun times at Redbriar in SF BL. We held Bay for a while, and looks like we still have Briar unless it flipped before. You guys wiped quite a few times at these stairs, though you had at least 2 times the numbers… But your efforts to recap Briar were honorable. (Nice cata distraction as your golem hit the gate!) Sorry [PHZE] couldn’t cuddle with SF some more, we had to go to guild missions

PS: This has been a fun matchup so far, looking forward to more fights. Keep it up everyone!
