tryed everithing disabled firewall antivirus internet security,added the game client at special exception rule ,modified to dns google servers and also tested the connection,all the values came out good , and yes one of the 1 st things i tried was the admin mode ,the game downloader client just isnt connecting,i even tried instaling of the original discs but they are also not connecting

(edit .i got the setup exe for windows ) thats the problem the setup isnt loging in to download ,i just tryed the pc instal dns modifications but no succes,i shut down antivirus,firewall ,proceses nothing worked:(,il try using the install cd maybe that will work…..edit .didnt work…

new laptop fresh new client download ,not updates or such,i havent played in a few months but dont you need to log in so you can start downloading ?
hello i thank everyone for the time taken to read the post and if someone can help me i would be gratefull.
So il start ,i just got a new laptop and i got windows 8 for it ,the problem started when i tryed to download the client,i was in another country and the internet was not that good so i figuered that it was the problem ,but when i arrived home the same thing happend i enter account and pws but nothing happens ,it loads and loads but nothing continues,no download no connection error ,nothing,i tryed msconfig instructions but nothing helped ,has enyone had the same problems?
same problem myself tryed to see if my IE was offline ,restarted the pc ,and the game several times ,
Tried loggin :
-on my necro no luck ( was in LA ) figuered it might be the overflow issue
-on my war ( got disconected in brilsband after 5 sec or 5 feet of walking)
-on my guardian (didnt even connect)
-on my eng ,same thing, strange thing is I logged out a few hours ago with, no problems what so ever ,no i cant even get passed the character select

i stand by my original post i just played 5 tourneys and to be honest it was completly one sided so yes the ballence is horrible off

The reality is that perfect balance is impossible to achieve in this kind of a game. There is always going to be a build that is a bit too strong, some that are a bit too weak, and flavor of the month classes. ANet has been doing a lot of balancing, but it takes time. They are approaching it the right way though, and I think it will get better.
what was the point of nerfing epidemic then restoring it to how it was ? isnt that a step back then 1 foward to where u started ?
if thats true then whats the point of lvl up in pvp if it serves no other purpose than how your character looks wouldnt a matchmaking system be better?
Best example i can give lets say a team of lvl 5/10 people join a pvp match vs a lvl 60/70 consider this ,the more newbier team has a worser chance of winning than 60 /70 because the more experience players know how to deal with the other clases while the weaker team has no freaking idea ,and before i read comments that fighting a more experienced team increases your own skill consider the fact the not everybody like to beaten again and again and again just to learn one part of the game
Ive been playing necro for a while and to be onest i dont see it not even something close to being remotly balanced pvp , assasins that heal for almoust full health in stealth lose any conditions you use on them by simple rolling and the cream of the crop can take u down in 2 3 hits, guardians&elementists that heal for full health, mesmers with the most op skills in the game , overall the best bet out of all the builts ive tryed is glass cannon condition master that actualy did have some positive results and even then u have to stay waaay away far to be safe and not insta killed
the funny thing is we are not the black sheep of the flock were something like grey, in comparison warriors truly have it made being easely bested by almoust eny class

It’s not so much what class you pick but how well you can perform with it in different scenarios. I find that necro works much better in team scenarios than in 1v1 (although still quite powerful there). I play my necro as a back-side, condition-bombing bunker for my team (small ops wvw). Other classes (like mesmer) are a bit more versatile with their builds and can really excel in 1v1 scenarios. My guess is the person who said that was referring more to 1v1 scenarios since necros can be hard to master for 1v1.
that the main drawback your great in team fights /WvW if you stay out of sight but we lack eny good 1vs1 combat so in team fights 8/10 we win while in 1 vs 1 depending on the oponent its a 50/50 chance
Giving necromancers some sort of control over their minions is definitely needed. Especially the Flesh Golem (which is our only decent condition build elite skill as plague is only useful for aoe blind) could use it. An elite skill that doesn’t attack or simply runs off to some other player is pretty useless. Adding some control over minions can’t really be considered a buff imo as it doesn’t increase their damage, it just makes them more reliable. I’d like my Flesh Golem to be passive with a pet attack/return button (f2, f3, f4).
that the resson i started the post for example a thief enters stealth atacks u then again enters stealth and the minions instantly become usless cuz they dont atack again untill u hit them again ,and again and again if they keep using stealth thats the main problem and its a giant liability,the sin focuses on us, gives you some dmg enter s stealth heals comes out again and so on ,it makes minion built completly usless ,futher more they dont stop atacking untill u are rly FAR AWWWAAAYYY.in that time they can easely get killed and all u get is another cd
its not like a buff or increase in dmg its just a bit more controll over a built you are playing
last thing i wana make a note of is what the point of them having traits for dmg and health explosion siphone condition removal etc if all u do is heard them along to your next battle/enemy where they usualy get killed and u folowing them shortly(whats a minion master without its minions ? its dead…)
i dont want complete control over all its actions but a little more than just using atack and there skills to kill a enemy would not hurt
simple put go power low lvl and continue with it + dagger if u like or scepter + conditions witch is a bit better at higger lvl + ds

1) BM Ranger
2) Any Guardian
3) Any thief
4) Any engineer that isn’t grenades
5) necro’s that don’t use epidemic correctly
6) Warriors (but everyone is currently good against them)

Class defining skill versus utility. Despite the little intro that Anet says, minions are not our Necro thing. We are a condition manipulation class that has the option of using our utilities for Minions.
Against a skilled player Minions can win depending on the build the player is playing and whether they are better than me. In team fights, which is where the Necro is strongest the MM is ridiculously effective. Bone Minion Explosions, Flesh Wurm boom, and Flesh Golem Charge as well as the bone fiend immobilize. Continuous damage plus continuous healing in a team fight = win.
We are not a solo class we are a team class.
When I want to solo against people. I bring a ranger, thief or elementalist. When I want to control a fight and help my team out, I bring the necro. Every single build we have is stronger in a group setting.
yea took me a while to realize that we shine more in team fights with conditions that trully melt away great numbers of enemys but that dosent mean you are permanently in team fights and as for minions no mater waht built u are most clases have good aoe and easely take u down or your minions witch are verry weak even with traits and the second thing is its depresing u have to switch from necro to another class just to combat some enemyes

Warriors, Guardians, and Rangers are snooze fest leveling. The Necromancer is a lot of fun, and very rewarding if you enjoy that playstyle. As a new player you are fine. If you had come from a more explosive class than I would say you might have some work getting used to the slower playstyle. Check out the links I gave, they will help out if you have questions, and SOAC Gaming is here if you start to feel down about the class :P.

It would add more buttons and it won’t happen. Let’s clear this up Ranger Pets, and Mesmer Clones are class definining skills. Minions are utility skills designed solely as a method of improving your own survival or damage. Clear up your misperception and you will realize they aren’t supposed to be Clones or Pets. We have deathshroud, they have Pet and shatter.
ranger pets run back and duno the mechaninc but come back rly fast with full health
mm clones die and 1 atack later there back ours die and 30 60 sec later there back (if you live that long)
as for improving our survival ?in pvp for example vs a skilled player there just a nuisance nothing more and a postponed death sentance + respawn to the nearest point ,true there usefull vs some tipes of builts of other clases but those are rare cases and far between

yea sadly ive heard that comment before alot of times and felt the same when i heard it
Best built for large groups is :
scepter -condition dmg it take a bit to kill but if u use a condition built its prety fast with large groups if u swap with staff and scepter combo and stay at range u can do alot
staff-good combo with scepter and best for groups and range
Best example i can give is I took a camp from orr with a rly big group of undead used staff and scepter slowed bled and poisend them then went into elite plague swarm ,end result killled 10 12 undead lvl 80 at once (still got downed but with the conditions on them it was down up down up )
dagger-mostly for close combat vs 1 target good fast dmg but its mostly your choice and it all depends on your built :minions condition etc
Most importantly its how u have the most fun

its not that bad it has good stats but imagine a necromancer running on a green field with little rainbow footprints whereever he/she stepes..thats the reason i m rolling a war and making duskbringer… wars get all the cools stuff

Basically the more popular class gets the cooler weapon, we necros are doomed.

Lets go try minions out in HotM……Still broken. The aggro fails about 1/3 of the time leaving you with 2-3 minions just standing there.
@Bas I got like 1k of pvp on necro, please, the minion ai is horrible. Its nice that you think 2x attacks solve it, but its not consistent and if its not consistent then its broken.

You got 1k of pvp as an MM. I have 500 as an MM. You have 1k as what a conditionmancer, and that makes you an expert on MM?
Minion AI is the same as every other NPC AI. 2 single auto attacks is the key. Whether that is an intelligent way to play or not is not the question. The question was how do I get them to attack. I don’t like that it works that way, but that’s the way it works.
this isnt a joke this is a problem i don’t know what situation he was exactly that his minions didnt wana strike but its a universal necro problem ,in pvp its worse they atack yes with a gigantic delay ,why don’t you see minion master ? because there becoming extinct
Best solution would be to make minions a separate set of buttons with there stance twards the enviroment AGressive/Defensive so they atack eny enemy on sight and atack your target when u hit it ,that way u hit 2 birds with one stone if your up against 1 enemy they atack it without much trouble and if there more they take the target off you so u can either escape or chose the one you want
i love the fact that necromancer is such a complex class what i dont love is the fact that a more simpler built from other clases can counter it

yea tryed it but it isnt all that effective u dont have the same cd as a mesmer does and u are easely outmatched by the ammount they heal(they usualy work against newbies with mm not pro mm)
we have
-a skill that triggers regen and isnt all that considering its hard to land a hit
-one that removes conditions
- one from the speed bonus skill
In total uou use up 3 skill slots to just keep yourself alive against a mesmer while sacrificing your pets or your condition dmg, while they on the other hand have
– single target skills
– aoe skills knockback
-can have 4 clones that are easely replaced with decent hp almoust all the time…
Make the math what are our odds of winning ?

3 bone minions was too strong. If you play soldier MM right, you can already brute force most builds down, another bone minion means a bit more siphoning, a bit more toughness, a bit more damage on hit, and (most importantly), another explosion. That extra explosion is another 3k damage+death nova+combo finisher, it would be too much.
yea and 2 are way to weak they are usualy the 1 st ones that get killed in all situations
there also not that good in tourny and normal pvp if the openents have good aoe witch represents 80% of all the clases i run minion master in pvp and believe me it isnt all that great the minions dont atack sometimes are easely fooled and worst of all easely killed even with traits

just have life force and if your doing puzzle use deathshourd u burn out life force insted of health no matter the hight
also its great in wvw cuz u jump off a clift and some poor fool sees u alive and jumps right after you ….)))) believe me it happens alot , end result? u walk away…& they don’t!!!

enyone else notice that fear dosen’t always work in wvw? oh and tested it also with e down state in wvw we die instantly almoust when down while other clases are so strong that u think there not even downed yet…
necros were also supposed to have 3 bone minions well surprise u get 2 only and they usualy insta die

Another problem I found is the lack of themes for weapons. For example daggers would be a perfect life sacrifice and life stealing weapon. The recharge on all skills should be fast, but costs health.
For example dagger/dagger:
1: Auto attack (ranged life stealing, weak damage)
2: Reduce recharge (no recharge, cuts currently recharging skills’ cool down by 10 seconds, but cost 10% health)
3: Immobilize and bleed (fast recharge, but cost 5% health)
4: Transfer conditions, bleed, blind and weakens targets (fast recharge, but costs 5% health)
5: Blood Bond (special hex that cannot be removed, any allies hitting that foe for the next 5 seconds gains regeneration, costs 10% health)

1.cant do that u would be stealing the alredy super op mesmer half the map range greatsword auto atack &we alredy have our staff weapons that’s rly something..
ex: Chat main:
Kylock: move a bit to the left john some necro is aiming at you "
john slowly walks 1 yard to the left
10 minuts later necro atack reaches & misses
2.mesmer again clones that are infininit and with 0 cd
3.it probaly would be either :blocked dodged or repelled back on to us etc to not be op…or some other nerf
4.the other clases would 100% for sure get something o counter it cuz they alredy can to almoust all our skills
And all this adds up to mesmer apes rulling the world and hearding all the poor necros

Kind of changing my mind on my proposal right now. It would be kind of OP if all necro’s received access to quickness and stability by default. I’m going to work up something new now. Thinking basically, 3 different Death Shrouds. The current one, 1 for minions, 1 for condition builds…
a thief dodges and has haste ? that dosent seem op? oh and lets not forget he also loses conditions all in one simple dodge ?
Necros have to use heal or minion traits to remove conditions both depending on either casting heal or having live minions
so in other words its just another nail in the coffin for the few select group playing necromancer ? just another “downside” to chosing necro ?
The funny part is ive read posts from original gw1 players who are crazyly enjoyng beating the C**P out of us necro because it was such a “op” class in gw1& now its just a nuisance
Is anyone else getting the focus “out-of-range” thing with focus abilities? I haven’t really noticed this, but most of my sPvP experience is in Heart of the Mists rather than actual matches.
@alex: I’d love to see the video! Although, minions having a delay isn’t that surprising to me. I think minions require a few attacks to land from the necro before they ‘lock on’ to a target, to prevent them from randomly chasing after anything hit by a stray attack. My guess is that in the circumstances you’ve outlined, you’re having trouble landing those first few attacks, leading to the minions not engaging on your target.
1ST i use dark pact(imobalize) i get up and close start hitting like crazy the skill ends we start the dance of DEATH and the pets enjoy the show for a while then after there nap they wave at the enemy and after tea they start atacking…
im just curios how is it posible for a ranger to come back to life from downed conditon in solo 1VS 1 fight and to top it all off to almoust full health cuz it just happened to me against one
I disagree. I started with the Necro and made the rounds making an 80 of each class (exotic gear on all). Now that I have finished, I am back to Necro having loads of fun. I had so much fun tonight in WvW that I am sure I’ll be playing the Necro as my main in the future. In WvW I thought I was having fun with my thief… I thought I was having fun with my elementalist… I thought I was having fun with my mesmer… I thought I was having fun with my warrior… but in the end, my Necro has taken center stage. Starting with a Necro, imo, made all the subsequent classes I played easy to get used to. Also, Fractals are the easiest to run with my Necro, including other dungeons.
I didn’t play GW1 so I had no expectations as to what the class should be like. And let me remind the OP, you said this was about the Necro in GW2. So, all I can guess is maybe your expectations have been misplaced, because I wouldn’t describe them as too high. My expectations have been met and exceeded. I really like the flow of the class and the design. DS has become a bonus that I didn’t have with any other class. It feels like a “Get out of jail FREE” card. HA HAAAAA
With the Necro I feel like a veritable Swiss Army knife. I feel like it’s only going to get better as I impove.

The hole point of this post was the lack of the number of pets as was in the previous game, verry long cd on summons even with traits ,and in general a weak necromancer who is more or less glass in comparison with the other clases
P.S. Next time u are in WvW try minion master built and see how completly inefective it is
crazyace I play different builds and variations of builds on my necro almost every time I log in. saying we have 3 builds is not right. conditions, support, power and hybrid. each have many different builds within those types. I would say we have the best build diversity in game.
thats kinda the problem we do have diversity but were a Jack of all trades, and master of none ,the issue in general is not with olny one specific or particular skill that is dissapointing its the entire class ……the best way to fix it would be a a complete overhaul
just look it up there was a pole on this forum and necro was the least played class of all in both pvp and pve
And the trophy Ladyes and gentlemen for the most played classes of the game goes to ….drumm roll plz….. the mesmer and the elementist ,for the most unstopable clases in the game

I play dagger in pvp and i ve noticed that minions atack your target with a 2 3 sec delay
The conditions that i noticed this happening is :
1. when you are in a 1 vs 1 pvp battle vs assasin and warrior
2. when you play as a dagger necromancer
3.usualy vs melee clases but i m not sure
the problem is in this 1 2 3 sec delay the enemy can hit you 3 4 times and from what i have read from some other post this is a a problem mostly with the minions AI ,i consider it a bit unfair and unpractical to play as a minion master if your minions start hitting the enemy after you have received 1/4 of your life in damage
The reaseon i posted is in a recent pvp battle i was up against a assasin hitting him with dagger and the minions where just running after me insted of atacking him(note i did do damage to him) i dont really understand if this is just a balance issue or the AI is made that way but from what necros ive seen in pvp battles(not many) you really dont see that many minions with them
Edit : now its worse they just go past the enemy and dont atack at all im going to link a video on youtube to prove my point
