doesnt need stab or condi pressure at range. can get decent condi clear with 2 sigils + trait and resistance uptime. theyre not vulnerable to cc that much lol. i think you should take the time to test it out, its pretty stronk.
Revenant is going to have a bow specialization in the next expansion due how utterly unfunctional is condition Revenant at duelling, roaming or PvPing.
Condi Rev as it current state moves slow and needs to reach mele/short range range to put damage in the target.:
- If you fight against a Thief, it can poke you to death at range, constantly changing their placement and entering in stealth. You can’t chase them or neither hit them at range.
- If you fight vs a Ranger you will face the same fate but worse: stealth, Point Blank Shoot, roots, Rapid Fire, rinse & repeat. Rangers dance around with Ancestral Grace using ther bow attacks and pets to destroy condi Revs at 0 risk or effort.
- Mesmers and Necros doesn’t even need to damage you: they can basically cc you forever with daze, chill, fear, pulling, knock downs, etc. You will never reach mele range against any decent player using those classes.
- Warriors can endure your conditions thanx to their reliable access to cleanses and passives while hitting you like a truck, heavy ccing you or just burning you to ashes in a permanent field of fire.
- Guardians can beat you at range, esily cleanse their conditions and keep that distance as much as they want.
- Power Rev will kill condi Rev at faster pace than the Condi Rev hurts Him; they also have better mobility and cc.
I’m not sure about Scrappers and Tempest, I guess Condi Rev can do fine vs Them. But any class with a viable ranged build or with strong access to cc will crush condi Revs at duellings, roaming or PvP.
Have you heard of resistance? Demonic Defiance procs resistance with every demonic skill you trigger, allowing you to counter movement-impairing conditions and cc. Also, phase traversal will help you reach the target and so will Axe 4. Oh, yes, and Unwielding Anguish is a very useful gap closer too. So you have 3 gap closers right there
How can you complain about warriors? After their nerf they are now even easier to counter. All their big skills can be easily dodged or blocked. They have like what, 8 seconds of resistance? That’s not going to save them, seriously. You can easily apply 40 stacks of torment with UA and precision strike, given that you trait Abyssal Chill. Not to mention the chill duration. Warrior is too easy to beat now.
Guardians and necros are challenging, and so is a good mesmer, but I think ultimately these match ups are balanced.
Inb4 all the people that say rev is slow realize, that malyx/shiro is actually the the way to go as condi rev….like it has been in Season1+2 already.
Shiro depletes your energy faster than Trump releases twits, and you lose 2 heavy AoE cc/damage skills if you detach Glint, plus Shiro heal is crap.
Until Rev gets a ranged condition (or hybrid) weapon, condi Rev in competitive gameplay sin’t going to be a thing.
Have you actually played around with condi rev? It’s incredibly powerful. The reason shiro is so good is that it provides Riposte and Impossible Odds, allowing you to AA enemies to death. With the right traits and gear, you can pressure enemies with torment while ignoring condis with resistance. What’s not to like? Also, obviously you wouldn’t just let IO active until your energy runs out. You can be more efficient and trigger it in short bursts so that you get the most out of the quickness received due to inc boon dur. It actually lasts a good 10-12 seconds which is more than good enough as you can then swap legends straight after.
That being said, thieves are still a hard counter but that’s ok. You win some you lose some. Also, with the disappearance of hydro sigil, power rev has just suffered quite a lot, making condi rev the next meta.
I’ve duelled power rev running condi myself and it was clear that condi is far superior.

I like the mace 3 non-tracking change. It makes it so that you actually need skill to land it. Also, it’s nice for when you want to proc might from mace 2 and don’t need to worry about untargeting an enemy.
I’ve been playing around with it in pvp. It looks very powerful. I’m currently running Rune of Leadership and Carrion Amulet.
You must play hammer?
That kill count is insanely low for that amount of damage. 14 kills is generally like 250k-300k damage at max, if an ele is present.
Hell anything over 400k damage is generally 20+ kills, and to manage having that sort of kills and damage requires no deaths. You have 750k damage and only 14 kills and a death.
I haven’t touched 500k damage since pre s4.
You damage suggests like 30 kills at least bro.
Well, think about killing Tempest+Druid duo. How much dmg you think it takes to kill them with their healing capabilities? I am pretty sure it is way more then the average 20k dmg per kill you counted. Are you trying to accuse me of posting fake ss?
Here you got another game with even higher dmg
It doesn’t count if it’s unranked. Play rev in ranked matches at platinum divison and then post your best results. GL
Also, here is the highest healing I got with Ventari. It still sucks in ranked, though.
Revenants are definitely viable. Are they easy to play? Definitely not. It takes a lot of practice to be good at playing it and its a steep learning curve when first starting out. Most people dismiss it as underpowered because they aren’t great for solo queue. In organized team fights is where they shine the most. If you can communicate and co-ordinate combos with your team well, that’s where Revenant can truly be a beast.
When it comes to solo play, you can’t really communicate with your team. Let’s say for example a warrior has gone to your close and you’ve just respawned. You can’t contest it because warrior is your hard counter. The same thing goes for pretty much most classes. Basically, revenant is pretty poor at duelling, so you are limited to ganking and sticking close to team fights.
A warrior is incredibly versatile as opposed to revenant though, he’s a great dueller and team fighter as well. Furthermore, it’s a hell of a lot easier to learn it and play.
There are other reasons, it also depends on the enemy comp. Your friend is right in the sense that revs have very little condi cleanse, and so naturally struggle against any kind of condi pressure. I wouldn’t play rev in a match, if say, the enemy comp consisted of necro, mesmer and condi war and thief. You’re just asking to get recked.
I haven’t tried it, but I honestly don’t see the potential in this legend for Spvp. Maybe it can be alright as a frontliner in wvw?
The ideal bunker for pvp right now would be either druid or tempest, and there is no way Jalis can compete against that due to its up kit.
I hear what you’re saying, and I agree that Tempest is somewhat similar in its role, but the major advantage is that it actually deals damage. It can be a lot more helpful in situations where all you need is to burst down the enemy.
Being able to heal while CC is nice, so that’s one thing I like about rev. But that’s pretty much the only true good thing it offers, imo.
I don’t know about your ranked matches, but in mine I’m constantly up against players in my similar level (platinum) and players in the leaderboard. When I played in gold I did also get matched with bronze players.
It’s a whole different ball game going from gold to platinum. People usually know how to play and how to counter.
Don’t get me wrong though. Ventari is tons of fun to play in unranked. But then that’s because it’s literally like playing in Bronze. People play like bots, so I guess you could play anything you wish like trap thief and still get a win streak going.
However, give that trap thief a shot in ranked play and you would get shrek’d, son.
So I’ve been playing ranked a few more times and I’ve started to notice quite a few flaws. Some which people have already mentioned.
When I was playing ranked, I didn’t really keep in mind that much the fact that people who play are mostly casuals and not skilled players (filthy casuals!). There is a massive difference in quality of games at plat compared to unranked. Granted, this is obvious.
Anyway, as other people have pointed out, ventari is especially vulnerable to all forms off cc. When you’re being heavily focused, let’s face it, there basically isn’t much you can do… yeah sure its nice to have that 3 second infuse light, but when you are getting so heavily focused, like me in most matches, I can’t even pull it off because of all the daze/cc going. It’s just… pretty much impossible.
If I try to kite, they will basically chase me down and there is only so much I can do to stall them. Basically, I will eventually die and then my team will be outnumbered. So that’s the first major flaw.
Secondly, being a healer is great for keeping your team alive, but sometimes it’s almost inevitable. Team mates who are getting focused really hard will inevitably fall as they attempt to kite around while I clumsily chuck my tablet from place to place trying to desperately heal them. As soon as they fall, I can try to rez them, which gives me and the downed ally 2 seconds of infused light. Good players can counter this easily. Also, after those 2 seconds there isn’t much that I can really do, sadly. So most times they usually end up dying.
Third, being a ventari healer GREATLY, and I mean GREATLY limits what I can do in the map. I’m slow and clunky, and due to my non-existent damage, there’s not much I can do in terms of rotations. Say for example, if my team is all close and I’m mid. There’s two 2 enemies at mid and they manage to take the cap somehow. Now, there’s literally nothing I can do in that situation. It’s a huge pitfall, I could try and rush far but I would be chased down and unable to take the cap.
Ventari’s huge pitfall is the inability to adapt to most situations. Being a dedicated healer, I am not versatile. I am only limited to defending points and healing team mates. This is useless in high level matches because your enemies will simply outsmart your build and outrotate you. Simple as that. I have poor mobility, no damage, and very little self sustain.
High skilled necro’s and condi warriors kitten all over you because they can apply ridiculous amounts of pressure alone.
I felt useless in some matches, because I couldn’t do much in terms of rotations.
For these reasons I believe Ventari rev will never be meta.
This is really interesting. Just a question though: is Glint a necessity for this build? I know, I know, dumb question: Glint > all, but I have to ask, since you spend most time in Ventari stance anyway.
Yes, I believe Glint makes the kit overall a lot better. It adds utility and strong cc for when your team needs extra offence. It’s very useful for disrupting enemy rez, blinding, revealing. Let’s not forget infuse light – the one skill that makes you immortal for 3 seconds in case you get focused.
I’ve been playing ranked matches and it seems people are now targeting me a lot more, causing me to rely on Glint way more than I did in unranked matches.
IMO, his build and playstyle isn’t even optimal. I reckon with practice you could do a much better job than what’s shown in the video. But that’s understandable since the patch has just been released and people are still getting used to it.
Believe me though, with practice you will be able to multitask; manipulate the tablet’s position while delivering sweet heals and keeping yourself a good distance from the enemy, meaning you should be safe and sound. Just what more can you ask for, come on!!
There is one already, check it out.
Tell that to my 10 streak win in sPvP. Lucky or good build? You tell me.

Sigil of Water.Ah sorry I ment max natural harmony output not general heals :P
The only thing you should be spamming is ventari’s will xD
Tablet is awful for wvw play and is completely clunky in other game modes too. The need to have the tablet manually controlled makes most rev players not even want to touch it… This game was built with fast paced movement oriented combat in mind, and it makes zero sense why the tablet was designed this way in the first place…
Devs, do you all want more build diversity and to move away from the “unhealthy zerker meta” more? Then please fix this so playing support can be fun, fast paced and viable in all game modes.
Have you even tried it yet? I would say it’s a better option that auramncer right now and that is saying a lot. Being able to heal from a distance is incredibly useful in sticky situations when there’s lots of aoe dmg going on. The added alacrity just makes things that much better. Hell, even I would rather have a ventari over a druid in my team. Seriously, just give it a shot and then give us your feedback.
So here is my match history.
That one was defeat was well… kittened team mates, what can I say? We were getting outrotated by thieves and the whole team camped mid. Smh.

Right, so I’ve been playing ventari rev. Holy Crap!! This is amazing. Do take into account that I’ve been playing unranked. I have yet to see how this build performs in plat divison, so until then I will just sit back and enjoy this while it lasts? I’m waiting for anet to nerf this now :P
Here is one of the best matches I’ve had so far:
In this one, I was contesting skyhammer against 2 necros solo for a good amount of time.
I tried Ventari rev the other day and wasn’t very successful, however, I don’t think this is due to the build, it’s probably because I’m not used to this kind of play style.
My build was slightly different to yours Abelisk, but I had the same amulet + rune. After looking at your traits, I realised I could have traited better. So I’m gonna give your version a shot.
The biggest problem with the build is condi pressure. In that one match I had no success in, there were 2 necros and 1 mesmer applying ridiculous amounts of condi that I couldn’t cleanse on demand. Purifying essence is too expensive to spam and the condi was just too frequent. Also, condi cleanse on dodge was just that little bit more helpful.
Anyway, maybe if I kited around I could have supported my team better instead of just camping the node and dying to condi burst.
But I’m actually excited to give this a proper go and see where it takes me. Thanks for sharing your success with us.
Should I be looking at dealing as much damage as possible even though it is basically non-existent or do you specifically just stand back and focus on healing everyone?
How do you deal with being focused in big team fights? Kiting thieves isn’t easy.
I agree, when I looked at this skill change, I immediately thought it is useless anyway. Not to mention the fact that it’s gone from 5 cd to 10 cd. That there is a huge nerf in itself. So overall it feels more like a negative balance than a positive one. Completely unnecessary, not sure where Anet were heading with this one.
I think the main thing to note about Rev, is that right now it is intended solely for group play rather than pitching it against specific classes. It is a bad dueler, but when it comes to smaller scale fights, like 2v2, I believe Rev is a solid option.
You’re asking for a massive rework of the class, that’s going to take a long time to code and implement.
Honestly, I don’t think Anet have the time or money to put that much effort into reworking a class that could be ameliorated with a couple of tweaks.
People are too fussed about wanting to fix the rev’s overall kit. Having GS is the last thing fans of the class would wish for to be honest. I’m pretty sure anet couldn’t care less about what one player wants.
“Pls give rev gs because i relly liek it and it iz mi favorite weapun” isn’t going to convince anyone dude.
It depends on whether you plan on pvping a lot or not.
Personally I cannot seriously pvp with a character with such a “clunky” way of applying stability.
Can a Rev apply stability – yes.
Is it intuitive and flow with the game – no.
If that’s your only worry in pvp then you’re not looking at the bigger picture.
This is my opinion speaking in terms of Spvp (let’s assume all classes are running meta)
Thief, Necro, Ranger, Mesmer, warrior > Revenant.
Don’t even bother trying to contest them at nodes if you’re solo.
Rev > Ele (assuming he’s running support of course)
Guardian and engi have an equal chance against Rev imo. Now that Guard’s f1 has been nerfed, it is possible to counter it, which makes it all the more possible for rev to win this scenario.
Lately I’ve been wondering what comes out on top in a 1v1 between these two classes.
I’ve faced plenty of these warriors that I’ve beaten without much effort or strategic play, but then I’ve faced high-skilled warriors from the pvp leaderboard whom I just can’t defeat.
After putting a lot of thought into this, I believe that with the right counter-play style and strategy, the rev is able to beat the warrior, who is considered to be the “king” of bruisers.
So, I’ve looked in to each trait and skill, and devised a plan on how to counter a power warrior as a revenant (assuming you play it almost mechanically perfect). This requires fast reaction times, excellent observation and decision making considering some of the warrior’s skill animations trigger in just a fraction of a second. Not to mention the various methods high skill players can use to juke and/or bait out important utils.
Let’s assume the warrior is running a standard meta power build. He runs this build:
goo.gl/lXVXz1
The rev runs this build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vlAQNAW8nnvN2gS6JvQRVlbosryPUYW5IKYs8ElFNFidMrpN2B8gNsdABICA-TZhBQB8b/hJWGQDHEgL8EAAwFAAA
Reason for my custom revenant build choice:
-Axe #4 offers unblockable dmg spike + chill, so I prefer it over shield in this scenario.
Bear in mind warrior has SoM rendering Crystal Hib useless.
-Axe #5 might be useful for a bit of condi poke when you’re disengaging war during zerk stance, or when war is kiting.
-Seeker’s amulet is an interesting one that I need to try out. Marauder’s or seekers? I choose to trade a bit of survivability for the extra boon duration assuming you can counter/evade warrior’s F1’s most of the time.
-Sigil of doom on both weapons for added poison to counter Healing Signet.
-Hydromancy for extra chill.
So here’s the strategy from a rev pov:
Start off on sword/axe, Glint. Now, 90% of the time, war is going to spam GS 4 before the engage. You can just easily sway from side to side to avoid that. As soon as the war moves in, trigger one with nature for boons. Watch out for GS 3 – dodge if necessary. Keep a distance of ~400 units. Hit PS for chill and engage with the following:
Gaze of darkness -> burst of strength -> elemental blast -> Shiro Stance + IO + cleave.
This chain ensures 5 second blind, poison and chill proc + 10 stacks of invuln and quick burst. Now, there’s a number of ways the war can counter this. He can either whirlwind away, shield 5 or dodge. Whatever the outcome, this is good because he’s wasting resources. If he’s blocking, then axe 4 -> swap to staff, count to 3 and sotm him asap. Keep applying pressure.
If warrior activates zerk stance, consider disengaging and keeping distance while spamming PS. Dodge Arc Divider. Wait for zerk to time out, then re-engage asap.
The biggest worry is dodging his Heabutt, which is difficult since it’s a 1/2 second cast. Save your shocking aura for this one. However, if he enters zerk, disengage with Shiro evade.
Use staff 3 for his f1’s and consider using staff 2 for a cheap spike.
A good tactic to bait out his blocks would be to use shiro or glint ult + stow from a distance. Then move in and pressure.
So my ultimate question here is: in a 1v1 scenario, who would win most duels, say best out of 10, considering both players play mechanically perfect?
Any ideas and thoughts on this guide are very welcome
Hi, as the title says, I can’t uninstall GW2 on my laptop as it crashes every time I attempt to.
What can I do? How can I get rid of this?
So basically I’ve started a new Guild, as you can guess, solely based on PvP. I am a keen pvp enthusiast and would love it if active people could join in for some serious or casual/fun play.
I am aiming to reach Legendary next season and hopefully be accompanied by like-minded individuals who play as competitively as me.
==============
Requirements:
Must be over 18,
Must have headset + ts,
Must be reasonably active.
Representation is not necessary!
All levels of skill are welcome
Experienced or inexperienced welcome too

Anet, will this adorable little Asura change your mind?! On behalf of all Revenants, we beg of you!
I see, what amount of RAM do you recommend? I was thinking of adding another 4GB so that I have 8GB total, but I fear that this may not even be enough. Would 16 GB be the best option?
Just a funny observation, the game has been crashing a lot more often ever since I got Bolt, is this a coincidence or could it be something more? I noticed the sentence “Debug token ‘0×000266FA’: Lightning ran out of space for new bolts”. Could this be a problem caused by my RAM?
Ok here is the error report in case I didn’t edit my first post correctly:

Hi, this is a problem that I’ve had for the past year or two, but only recently I’ve decided to post about this as it has been getting worse.
I used to randomly crash every once in a while when doing a meta event, where there were numerous players on my screen at once. I would just suck it up, log back on and carry on as if it was no big deal.
However, for the past couple of months it has only been getting worse. Now I crash every once in a while even during a pvp match. Which is highly annoying, since I’m a very competitive player. I also tend to crash during meta events in Auric Basin, which again, is very frustrating, especially since multi looting is a time-gated event.
Now, it is worthy to note that I’ve just upgraded my CPU to an i7 2600k, which was my main suspicion. Sadly, the problem still persists.
My specs are as follows:
Intel core i7 2600k
Corsair DDR3 4GB
AMD Radeon HD 7800
I honestly cannot identify this problem, so I would be grateful for any input. Thanks!
I agree that there should be more meaning and substance to choosing a race, I have been putting some thought into this as well. Tinkering with racial skills wouldn’t solve the problem, I don’t think. The only thing that could be done is to just outright scrap them from the game and drum up something else entirely. Something that doesn’t provide any sort of advantage to combat and is neither mandatory to equip/wield or use, if you see what I mean. With the use of masteries, perhaps Anet could incorporate unique racial masteries? So, for example..
Norn Mastery = Gain a large sum of mf, gf and exp in Shiverpeak locations.
Charr Mastery = Gain mf, gf and exp in Charr locations (I don’t know what they’re called).
And so on for the other races.
Ok, so that’s a very robust idea, obviously I wouldn’t really like to have it that way but just a feasible idea really.
With the implementation of masteries, I think Anet could definitely tie in some unique racial abilities to them! And hell, that would be awesome!
Okay, so firstly I am genuinely happy that we have finally received new, original content! In this comment I will share my view on the newly added map, because this is where I feel there could be a lot more improvement.
So here is my take:
Story Line
In short, I have found the story to be engaging, entertaining and rich with amazing voice acting and meticulous detail to it all! I honestly cannot wait for the next episode to arrive. Even though I might be waiting 2 or 3 months, I’m happy to know that Anet are trying their best to polish and deliver the best product they possibly can to satisfy our insatiable thirst for new content. Quality over quantity is what I feel is the most important aspect of developing GW2.
Bloodstone Fen Map
Aesthetics-wise the map really took my breath away! I love the uniqueness about it, the concept art is truly amazing once again! I feel like Anet always successfully deliver when it comes to invoking a gorgeous, well-thought out map. The huge, vertical scope of it all is truly impressive and something that really adds a lot more flavour to it.
Unfortunately, I share the same concern of its lackluster content as most other players. Like most others, I have completed Bloodstone Fen along with its story line and achievements in just a few hours. The map is certainly impressive, and there is so much potential with all these new mechanics such as triggering skills while gliding! But I just feel like there is not enough content in this map to keep one constantly exploring/visiting every corner of the instance and grinding away those meta-events. The goggle-dive island at the top of the map is the sort of thing I would like to see spread across the zone. These little, finer details enrich gameplay so much more. I feel like if there were some side-quests, or some interesting tid bits of information littered about the instance that relate to the story (apart from the scattered journals) then it would definitely keep me and countless other players engaged for so much longer.
The quality in terms of aesthetics of the overall map has exceeded my expectations, but the quantity of the map’s content is definitely underwhelming.
A lot of players have claimed that the episodes so far are rather lackluster in terms of quantity and span and while I do agree with them, I am highly convinced that Anet will do their best to deliver even more content and lengthier episodes in the next update.
I’m having the same sort of problem. However in my case the only time my game seems to crash is whenever I reach the end boss of Silverwastes… it is so annoying!! I can never seem to complete it because of this! Very frustrating.
I would personally love to see a comeback of the deity shape-shifting Dervish and the ghost-summoning Ritualist. That would be too cool for school!
I’ve just a problem yesterday. I took out my mini Rytlock to see him. I then proceeded to teleport back to the world as I was just finishing a personal storyline quest. I looked in my inventory to bring out my mini Rytlock again but the mini itself had vanished! I did not delete anything at all, just loaded screens and it was gone. How can I get it back?
