For the past three nights, two friends and I have been slowly completing World 1 Tribulation Mode, a zone a night. Tonight, we finally finished World 1 Zone 3, and we were ecstatic for the achievement to pop up any second.
However, it never came. We went through the bonus round that follows and waited to be taken to World 2, Zone 1.
Nothing.
I’ve attached an image showing the three tokens, King Toad Z-1, King Toad Z-2 and finally King Toad Z-3 in addition to the incomplete achievement, which should be completed seeing as how I have all three items that you get from completing the respective course in Tribulation Mode.
Is this a bug? Is a fix under-way? Will I need to do it again? My two friends always never received the credit, how would they go about getting it as well?
Attempting to open on Yak’s Bend server. Southern Invasion.
Every time ArenaNet sends me a little something in-game mail, I feel a little appreciated and it feels nice.
Anybody else feel that way?

Hello, I recieved an e-mail today that I’m not sure if it’s real or not. I’ve heard of scam e-mails floating around before, but I’ll attach a screen shot of the e-mail. I’ve blur out my name and e-mail for obvious reasons.
I’ve played the Guild Wars franchise for years and I would hate to have my account taken from me for something I wouldn’t dare do. If this is real, should I just sit back and let the support team investigate?
If the information helps, this is not the same e-mail I use for my Guild Wars 2 account. I use this e-mail on Guild Wars related websites, like Guild Wars 2 Guru, but that’s it. I don’t really use the actual e-mail I use to login to Guild Wars 2 for anything other than just that.
Thanks in advance.

Hello, I’m looking for a guild stationed on the Yak’s Bend server—I’ll consider any guild, but I strongly prefer medium-sized guilds that use RaidCall for voice chat. I am not looking for an up-tight guild that cowers at the use of strong language and doesn’t put pressure of me to “always rep”.
I have friends-only guild and I occasionally rep it to play with my friends who don’t play quiet as much as I do.
I am married, working, and I’m more active in the Eastern US night time. I have only one character, a Guardian, that I have had since release. I have Commander title and I love to play sPvP as much as PvE.
in-game name is Sano Armitage.
Before the patch, I reached my 100th win mark in my Champion Paragon title. I’ve won several matches in solo queue since then, but my progress remains at 100 wins with the Guardian.
Can I no longer get the title via solo queue? I don’t have the time and dedication to form a good pre-made and it really bums me out about it.
Tonight will mark our second run of our weekly Temple Cleansing. As stated in this video, we (PRTY Gaming) try to bring the Yak’s Bend community together for nightly temple cleansing starting at 10:00 PM EST every Saturday. We choose 10:00 PM to have this later in the night, for the players who just get off work or from a rather busy day and can never find open temples, or temple runs.
However, we shouldn’t stop at Yak’s Bend. We would like to invite the whole GW2 community that’s interested in this nightly run. Trays of Omnomberry Bars are given out, in addition.
PRTY Gaming will be giving out random items and money to randomly selected people in the zerg. We will start at Balth, are work our way west to eventually Grenth.
Meet us at Fort Trinity at 10:00 PM EST! Look for Commander Sano Armitage!
I’ve recently became interested in Sword/Torch play. Any they any builds that state what gear is recommended for them? I’ve looked all over the place, but I can’t find many trust-worthy ones that aren’t downgraded in comments.
I’ve been running soldier stats on a GS since release, so I’m looking to mix it up.
We’re at Rally Point. Come help!
We’re getting closer to Rally Waypoint. Hurry up if you want in!
Trying to start Balth group on Yak’s Bend. Join!
Hello, I’d would like to invite you into PRTY Gaming. We are stationed on Yak’s Bend aswell, which means nothing is limited for you when it comes to us!
We’re a small guild, 30-ish members, with no application process and no strict “rep us only” policy. We use RaidCall to chat and you can visit our website here.
we failed, but we’re trying again—got more people this time
Any N/A servers?
come to Yak’s. We’re trying.
Any N/A servers?
wondering the same.
PRTY Gaming wants to do something in Guild Wars 2. We’ve been a small guild since release in Guild Wars 2, and even survived one break-up. We know it can be tough due to the small number that your guild has and we still feel that today. PRTY is looking for three things, in hopes of prospering a lively community.
1. Allies
We’re looking for allies for our guild. Specifically two, and for all three of us to agree to ally together. No, this doesn’t mean merge into one guild, but for us to keep is close contact to experience larger events together than would otherwise be difficult solo. We can get a routine schedule of Guild Missions, some World vs World dates, sPvP, and some temple clearing–all together as an alliance.
2. Merges
We’re looking for small guilds to be interested in merging with us. We believe we have the tools to grow something stable here, and all it takes to help us progress to that path is you. We understand merging with other guilds is often as rejected concept, and not many people do it, but I know other guilds that have did it and have grown into very well stabled communities. No, once we merge, the legacy of your guild will not be forgotten. We do not believe in persuading somebody to merge their guilds with ours, and be pushed down in the ranks as if we were dictatorships. We need officers and authorities, and even people for the website–and we would love to have some people with experience even in the smallest communities, to fill that role. All of this will be discussed prior to the merge.
3. Members
Last, but not least, we need members. Players who want to be apart of something beautiful and continuously prospering. Our goal is impossible without you and we understand that. If you’re interested in us at all, I have listed several points of our guild for further information;
- As of now, we are a casual PvE and WvWvW guild.
- We are placed on Yak’s Bend.
- There is no application process–that stuff is silly.
- We do not require you to rep us 24/7.
- We use RaidCall as our voice chat.
- Any member can join. From the hardest veterans, to the newest players.
Just because you are not on Yak’s Bend does not mean we will not accept you. You can attend everything in the guild that isn’t World vs World, due to the design of server guesting.
To contact us, you can do two things:
- E-Mail us at info@prtygaming.com.
- Whisper or In-Game Mail the following people:
- almostdaft.4319
- Godric.5649
- manlymullins.5714
We hope to hear from you soon, on any of these!
I love the event, ArenaNet, and I can’t wait to see what stays in SouthSun Cove for good! I love getting those crates and drops and bracing for one of the mini pets—I already got a sweet skin! (I wonder if the Greatsword skin is Soul Calibur-inspired!)
Keep up the work, I love it!
…about most of our fellow GW2 players.
%90 of them don’t read and spam map chat asking " WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS SAMPLE THING ARENA NET "
are they no concrete way to play with friends, or is it just queue up and hope we get into the same match?
Two words: Bar Brawl.
How does one find themselves on the Leaderboards? I’ve read that you are marked, but I’m unsure what the mark is.
One is a major issue; to me. The other is just a minor rewording. Anyway;
*I have an incredibly difficult time with leavers and no-shows. I queue up Solo for tournaments mainly, and finding leavers and no-shows on my team is a occasional thing and makes even deciding to queue up again something to consider. I am not having fun playing 3/4v5—especially on Legacy of Foefire. Something like the Dishonorable Hex should be implemented into Guild Wars 2. If a player leaves a tournament match early or doesn’t even show up, they shouldn’t be allowed to enter sPvP for an [X] minutes.
and my second thought
*Let’s drop the term “tournament”. How about rated or ranked matches?
What are you references to older games you have spotted in the Super Adventure Box?
*If you die, you pretty much get the same transition screen in Super Mario Bros. 64.
*In the first area, where you pick your world and zone, you can see Tetris blocks in the sky.
*With both the names of the princess and Moto himself, they are a obvious reference to Shigeru Miyamoto himself, the creator of Mario and The Legend of Zelda.
Thanks! Was wondering about that.
How does one acquire the PvP skin? Would I need to retrieve the skin via PvE and use it in PvP, or does the skin drop out of the PvP Tournament Reward chests?
PRTY Gaming is a new guild hoping to recruit you—the player—into it’s incredibly restriction free guild. No application, no constant representation of the guild, no hassle.
With PRTY Gaming, we understand that you have a life outside of us. Represent with us when you want and play with us when you desire. We are very interested in dungeons, WvWvW, and we have a strong interest in a sPvP currently, but we need you to help us create it.
With you, the player, we believe many things are possible for this community. We are located on the Yak’s Bend server, and just contact me almostdaft.4319/The Ply in game via whisper or mail.
We also play more than just Guild Wars 2. Many members of PRTY Gaming play League of Legends, Left 4 Dead 2, Counter-Strike: GO, and more. We have to have your company soon!
Still looking for a guild.
Hello, I am currently looking for a Yak’s Bend guild. One that preferably doesn’t require me to be online constantly—I work a lot, so it’s sort of an issue to be for hours daily. I don’t exactly have many requirements for a guild, but some of my strong preferences
are:
- Use RaidCall as the method of voice chat.
- Have members that play SPvP occasionally.
In addition, I would prefer if I was sent mail in-game with details about the guild rather than a whisper as soon as I’m online. However, I don’t mind if the guild details are posted in this thread.
My in-game character name is The Ply. Is it the only character I play; a level 80 Guardian. I have been playing since BWE2.
Thanks!
I was on the steps.
The steps.
and Grenth dropped the base with no Red-AoE circle under me.
Yak’s Bend server has failed it seven times so far.
not one success.
is now impossible.
I’m still upset that they are no word on Guild Alliances.
best feature of GW1 imo
There are bosses you can’t melee and forcing you to use a ranged weapon.
and I disagree.
NightyNight.1823Like Lupicus.Grubs duty lol. What about phase2? Theres no way you can melee that one.Specialy if you’ve got the agro.
Depend on survivability and movement to lose the agro, then proceed to eat him alive. Works every time if you try to shake his hand.
NightyNight.1823What you gonna do , run pretty? because you refuse to use a range weapon.Because its manly?Being useless is manly to you?
I never said any of this. What are you getting at?
NightyNight.1823And its not the only boss you can’t melee. The Butcher in HotW.I’ve seen other stubborn guardians like you that tried to melee him.Down on every attempt.
Believe it or not, I had no idea what The Butcher did on my first attempt against him. I used a hammer the whole time. I was only downed twice for the fight—then I realized his tell-signs.
NightyNight.1823And there are many other bosses too.You gonna melee the dredge boss in FotM? I’d kick you right away.
Melee’d the dredge boss with my group made up on Two Warriors, Two Guardians, and a Thief. Easy peasy.
The spider and Nightmare Tree in TA are just down-right easy for me.
Lupi can be melee’d on any phase as long as you just “hurr durr” it and ask him politely for a piece of damaged armor.
The Butcher is a slice of cake—hardly a threat at all.
It honestly amazes me the doubt some of you have for a character using melee against some of these bosses.
While some of you are insisting that I have a ranged weapon at all times I (1) don’t have one and (2) see it as a down-grade, if anything. While using a ranged weapon would go with a strategy and maybe even been an improvement to some people—the numbers I receive say that I, for the maximum potential to come out of my Guardian, going with my melee weapons is my best choice of action to benefit my team.
I have no intention of defying a group’s strategy. I simply see a better, faster, stronger [Daft Punk?] course of action with my melee weapons and it sounds like they’re the stubborn ones for not giving things a chance. I’m not perfect, but I’m not a stupid melee-player that stands in one spot, presses 1, alt-tabs and checks his Facebook.
Thanks for the replies and, to some, sympathy.
Let me clarify myself; I use melee strictly as not only do I prefer it, but I find that I—as the player I am—am more useful in a position I’m comfortable with and, by far, much more efficient at DPSing a foe down based on me, as a player, that developed my character to excel in what he does.
For those saying that I’m not cooperating with the group strategy—I’ve never had a whole group turn evil on me for my choice—even when I reassure that all will be fine because it always has been. Like some have stated, it’s been about two people who are conditioned to believe that the way they are seeing things is correct.
I do not believe I’m holding the team back or going against a team strategy that was never set-in-stone in the first place. I’ve never flat out said " lol i’m not using range ", I’ve always stated something like, (and sometimes before we begin the dungeon) " I do not use ranged weapons—I believe I do better, and I have, with what equipment and mind-set I have. "
It boggles me where people where conditioned to the point where [X] Trinity needs to be followed, all players must have ranged weapons, and all players must [X]. This game doesn’t bound us to these pointless self-assumed requirements.
For those who keep saying that they would kick me for going melee on [insert Boss];
well, I did go melee against [insert Boss]. and I won with [little] failure.
you could have reported him/them for the vulgar language part. That shouldn’t belong here.
Don’t worry.
I did.
To answer Lupicus,
I have both hit him, and been on what I call “Grub Duty”.
Grub Duty being mainly for pick-up groups, as where I will nuke grubs down fast before Lupi. can consume them—with the rest of my party ranged, far back.
With a more organized group, we’ve managed to have two or three melee on Lupi. His first phase 1 isn’t rough at all if you manage the grubs off of each other.
but when? What enemies shut down melee players that don’t stand in a single spot and press 1, taking a wave of punishment until their downed?
This is a typical problem for me. I’ve been kicked twice today from dungeons because I did not use a ranged weapon and made things more difficult for the group entirely.
or in one player’s words “U R MAKING THIS HARD THAN IT HAS TO BE.!”
First off, I’m a level 80 Guardian. Guardian is the only class I’ve played. I’ve been playing since BWE2. I have all of my Guardian’s skills unlocked, %100 world completion, Dungeon Master title, and I’m rank 20 in sPvP—among many other things that aren’t exactly worth noting; and granted any of the things I’ve stated probably aren’t.
With that said, I think when I speak about my profession, I know what I’m talking about—and with that said (again), I stand by my theory that there is hardly (if pressed, I’d add almost)anything in this game I can’t hit with a Greatsword and survive—being no burden on my team’s constant awareness of who’s incapacitated at the time.
and it doesn’t take a level 80 Guardian to admit that their ranged weapons, the Scepter and Staff, are not the best tools in the game. I wield a Greatsword accompanied by a Mace and Shield, specing directly into a complete set of gear focusing on Power, Vit. , and Toughness. Why I choose these stats and weapons specfically is another discussion for another time, but I’ve been kicked twice today because I was not using ranged.
before the battle was even under-way and minutes in, with my re-assurance to the ranting player(s) that “I promise, it’ll be OK.” and a brief explanation that “The Guardian’s ranged weapons aren’t exactly necessary for the situation at hand”, I am presented with the cold fact that I’ve been kicked out of the party followed by a whisper of “learn to play, [insert vulgar]”—loosing all the progress I’ve made in the dungeon. Sometimes these rants are accompanied with the argument that a holy trinity still exists in this game—which I do not believe—but, again, that’s another discussion.
tl;dr Kicked out of groups for the way I play (i.e. no ranged weapons)—annoyed and letting off steam, I suppose. Happened to any of you?

I’ve had to work a lot this weekend, specifically when these events started, and thus I’m a little out of the loop with what exactly has happened in my beloved Tyria. I was able to do phase 1 until I ran into some bugs, phase 2 wasn’t all that direct for me, and I completely missed phase 3 due to it being a multi-hour event and I had to work—no big deal though. You win some, you lose some.
- What was suppose to have changed Tyria forever? To my knowledge, aside from a new level 80 map, our activities are the same as they were before.
- I remember reading something about Precursors being easier to obtain, and maybe even in a scavenger hunt form. What is this?
- I’ve explored the new map a bit—not a lot due to sleep and work. Seems awfully empty with just, what, four events? On the plus side, I enjoy the difficulty of the enemies and the scenery—I admire it. Will this map eventually become more populated?
Personally, I enjoyed that little LFG window in Guild Wars 1, and I would find it very helpful to be not hidden in the contacts tab in this game.
I love the dungeon, but unlike (and understandably) like the Mad King Thorn dungeon, will this one be permanent or will it vanish after the weekend?
I love Tournaments.
I specifically play the free ones at the time.
but I have this thing where every 3 out of 5 matches my team will be down a player—maybe two!—on the first round and sometimes two or more players will not show up for round 2.
ArenaNet, you should really consider using the Dishonorable Hex like you did in Guild Wars 1 to people who decide to not show up for their tournament matches. I can deal with it in the hot-joinable matches as players are constantly coming in and out, but this absolutely demoralizes me to search for another match.
Other players tell me I should join a PvP Guild, though I prefer my small guild (20+ members) that I’m currently in and lead. I don’t mind PUGs, but I mind it when they don’t show up for something they signed up for that I am, unfortunately, apart of.
That’s no fun, Haishao.
I actually remember reading somewhere that they were looking into reducing the cost of a legendary.
If you haven’t heard the buzz, this is where it’s coming from.
November Update, as speculated, contains:
- 3-Day event.
- New island in the game world.
- New PvE Game mode
- New PvP features
This is silly of my to think, but when I hear PvE Game mode, for some reason the Hardcore Mode from Diablo III comes to mind, haha.
So, let the speculate and discussion begin. Will we push beyond Orr? Will we receive another dungeon? Larger Tournaments added?

Look around for yourself.
We definately need to keep this topic on the front page of this section—the more it’s noticed, maybe the quicker we’ll get it.
Home World: Yak’s Bend.
Guild Name: Please Release The Yaks, then progressively as The PRTY Party.
Guild Website: Under construction, though however we use a Facebook group often.
In-Game Contact: The Ply, Godric The Mighty, or Cody Gnasher. Preferably send a mail rather than a whisper.
Focus: All formats of gameplay—though we are heavily PvE at the moment.
Quick Notes: We use RaidCall as a form of voice communication, though we won’t shun you from anything if you choose not to use it. We’re all keyboard-warriors on the inside.
We also accept anybody, and by that we mean the roughest, immature people who will laugh at a dirty joke. We don’t believe this makes one immature, only that they find it humorous. We typically curse, talk dirty, and jokingly-fight a little; but all in good fun. We trash talk and we’re honest about it—just as a human should be!
We don’t believe you need to be “+25 years old, mature player” to join a guild. We believe you need to be you. We are currently a smaller guild, about 20, and slowly growing. Become apart of a community that lets loose and laughs at theirselves!
