Are you adding a pvp halloween reward track ?
I don’t like it. It feels like there is not synergy with the other trait lines.
The new druid skills offer zero damage output. Go full healing bot = good group sustain but zero damage output thus dragging the fights longer. HoT has no new dungeons and the existing ones can still be done fast and smooth without a healer so i see no point in dragging along a druid in fractals / dungeons.
I feel Druid will only be needed to raid contents, since in the rest of the open world content is pretty much unnecessary to have one.
This is not how i imagined my beloved ranger to be. When i rolled ranger as main when i started GW2 i was intrigued by the the whole hunter / trapper aspect using pets as companions. I felt Guardian / Elementalist were best suited for the “healing” part of the game. I would be more than happy if they just fixed the pets AI and offered some minor changes to fix the so many problems of the class, not being forced to be a healing bot.
I guess people who really wanted a dedicated healing class are pretty exited about it, and i get the feeling the people celebrating in this forum have never played ranger before. They just saw “OMG DRUID HEALER SO COOL” and just flood the forums, but for me the whole hunter theme is gone now.
I guess the whole events thing need to be revamp now for people that opt to go full healing bots…. else they’ll stack in seeing bronze for the rest of their lives.
tl;dr Dissapointed by the Druid line.
I tried the suggested changes and it “feels” strange. I removed all the valor points and shared them amongst Zeal + Radience as suggested.
Now i feel like i’m dying very fast for a small increase on my damage. And leaving virtue without the 2 points on Absolute resolution doesn’t sit well with me since i find that 3 conditions removal is really valuable.
I tried out a 0/5/3/2/4 build and it seems to work better in terms of survivability and damage.
I’m new on guardian and so far only used it for PvE / Dungeons. So i’m looking for feedback on PVE build not PvP /WvW.
Armor :
Set 1:
Full zerker with superior rune of the Ogre. (not the best runes but that’s the only ones i can affort now).
Set 2:
Ascalonian Protector set (Power-Toughness-Vitality) with Superior Runes of the Doylak
Trinkets:
a mixture of soldier and zerker
Weapons:
zerker weapons
1) Greatsword (superior sigil of night + force).
2) Scepter/focus (superior sigil of night + force) sometimes swapping to sword/focus for melle fights.
Traits:
0/4/4/2/4
Radience – blind exposure , powerful blades
Valor – Retributive armor (swapping with strength in numbers), Purity
Honor – Superior Aria
Virtues – Unscathed Contender, Absolute Resolution (3 condition removal… i just love this skill)
I feel these setup gets the best of most trait lines. Haven’t seen anything special in the power traits to make want to switch anything else for it.
Utility Skills + Elite:
these rotate depending on the situation to be honest, with my most usual being Stand Your Ground, Retreat, Purging Flames. Elite is the Renewed Focus.
With the zerker armor i have :
~2,200 attack
~2,800 armor
~13,500 health
~45% crit chance
while with the PVT gear i get:
~ 2,100 attack
~3025 armor
~17500 health
~35% crit chance
What’s your opinion on that? Anything i should try out / change ?
Spike pit part isn’t a bug, sadly. Anet decided to “update” so you actually have to fight the breeder. Personally I felt the traps were more engaging. It was a way to defeat the boss without even using a single attack, plus it required the team to have a bit of coordination or else it could easily fail. Best of all, it was a refreshing change from the rest of the “stack and attack” tactics.
Apparently the devs don’t like diversity.
The think is we killed it like 5-6 times without the traps.. and still nothing. The event fails and we couldn’t proceed
all good until the Room of Pits part where you need to defend Detha from the gravelings.. We killed the champion without using the traps and the event fails and we can’t proceed. We killed it 5-6 times and still nothing.
We reseted the whole dungeon and restarted again…and we got the same problem.
Third time is the charm….. On the third time we managed to finally proceed from there with success but guess what…. Detha bugged in the Hall of Champions part where we need to defend her traps. She was just following people around like an idiot without activating the next part. We had her killed from the gravelings, still nothing, we all died went in the hall again with her… still nothing…..
Any chance to get a fix on that ? I find no point of even trying to do p2 with these bugs.

i opened ~1000 boxes and barely got 500 tokens….. but at least i made some of the money back from discarding those useless quartz crystals for 50s per 250 stack…
If you are not there the first day it goes live, then your chances of successfully finishing the achievements of this Living Story as a casual player are minimal. I don’t mind harder content or content that requires a group to be finished. But this LS is pretty idiotic. It promotes nothing but mindless zerg rushing since the rewards for finishing it are just laughable. Plus what’s the point of putting so much mobs with so much conditions in it if not to kitten off your player base ?
Even if you try to solo it and slowly kill your way through it, there is always that/those idiot(s) that will just run through making all the mobs vets and the bosses vets / champions, only to die a few meters further and spam in chat " Plx Plox someone rezz me at this spot " while killing you as well with the mob train behind them.
The best and most wellthought events during my gameplay so far was the Wintersday events. Toyshop dungeon was super fun to do with a group and had good rewards, the pvp hungry players had the super fun arena to kill each other. In general everyone was happy, even the most casual players. This tower is just laughable.
Is there any way to prevent from leaping all around AFTER the target is dead ? I have the autoattack on sword disabled but sometimes when i do the skill rotations i might smash 1 again during the leap and my character just flies around the map.
Lost count how many time i’ve fallen off cliffs, bridges , jumped into mobs etc for that kitten -,-
Everything is solo-able even the champions when you learn the fights. This is very close to perfect from Anet. The mobs are hard and interesting, you can zerg or solo the open world area and all the instances are easy solo and scale for those who want to go with a group. I did everything with my full rabid necro and my zerker thief. I had to change my skills many times and go slowly on my thief but I soloed the spider and the wurm and made it to the top twice. I died a few times, mostly because I made silly mistakes or because I tried to rez someone, but paid for the armor repair and the travel golem and continued.
It took a zerg of 40 people 7 minutes to kill the spider queen and you claim to solo it…. I doubt you soloed the champion wurm since from that zerg of 40 around ~25 made it alive after killing it and you claim to solo it…. Cool stories uncle Kelnter. Tell us more.
How the hell is it soloable? Explain to me how to get pass the Wurm Queen with no help from other people ? Or solo the Spider Queen blocking the passage with no help around.
If you mean it’s soloable AFTER a zerg of people cleaned the path for you then newsflash! You didn’t solo it.
Worst living story i’ve encountered so far. Fall behind the zerg for a second and your chances of finishing the instance drop rapidly. Plus there is zero incentive to kill anything. Just a mindless zerg rushing. This has definitely been the worst and most frustrating update for me so far.

I looked up the Dungeon’s NPCS and none has apothecary gear (toughness, healing power, condition damage). I tried looking up the wiki but i couldn’t find any karma vendors selling it either.
How can i get that gear (asides from bying it from TA) ? Thanks
Best pet would be a Troll pet.
They got Knockdown, daze, self health regen, cripples / immobilize. And they are a bit tanky.

So on my ranger i want to upgrade my exotic rings / earings to ascended. But after taking a good look at the stats i find my self losing stats on the upgrade.
Example :
Now i run with 2 x Emerald Orichalcum Ring of the Berserker where each gives :
48 base + 25 jewel = 73 power
48 base + 15 jewel = 63 precision
67 base toughness
3% jewel crit damage
If i upgrade to the equivalent ascended where toughness the main stat like Ossa Family signet Ring then i get :
68 base power
68 base precision
103 toughness
and to that add a +4 precision or a +4 power infusion to the offensive slot.
So to add things up i will end up with
68 base + 4 infusion = 72 power
OR
68 base + 4 infusion = 72 precision
so i end up losing power (even infused) and lose the 3% crit damage.
Make that x 4 (2 rings and 2 earings ) the accumulated loss is considerable especially in the % crit damage.
Is it actually worth it upgrading to ascended jewels or is there a way to increase the infusion slots of an item so i minimize the loss stats? Because now to me the only good use of ascended jewels is to just stack them Agony Resistance for fractals….
Haven’t played in a while and started up again now. I find my self unable to use certain consumables in dungeons (like Mortar Seeds, Healing seed pots).
I remember i could use these in the past and it was nice having an extra heal kick in. Now i can’t. I went through the patch notes but didn’t notice anything concerning that. Was it changed ?
I only have a ranger in my account. Despite all the negatives all the class i still loved it. Finding groups for Dungeons / Fractals was a pain in the kitten but i was somewhat useful… Went from playing ~4-5 hours per day this game to loging in 1 hour in the past 5 months.
Anet simply ruined the game for me. At least if they had given me a sign when i was starting the game saying " WARNING DO NOT PLAY RANGER ! MOST USELESS AND FORGOTTEN DEV CLASS IN GAME" maybe i would have started of with a warrior or elementalist and still enjoy the game.
We’re aware of a lot of the issues with ranger pets that have been brought up here, so none of this has been surprising so far. We’re working on the core issues I listed, and have been for a while now.
Thanks for answering questions in this dev forgotten forum. But to mee it seems like all the ranger pets could be solved with a simple move. Add a stow button.
for example : F4 “permanently stows ranger pet until is recalled by user again. While pet is stowed ranger gains 30% of first pet’s attributes”. plus you could also apply a small buff on ranger damage when pet is dead (20 – 30% damage increase on ranger with dead pet).
^ This way you give the possibilities to rangers to enjoyed the class the way it was in GW1 (pet optional and not becoming a burden) and Pet rangers not becoming a laughable source of damage in dungeons when their pet is dead.
And another thing, i’ve run some tests on my ranger with some warrior friends. A full tank / bunker warrior still has more damage output than a full berserker ranger. How do you justify that?

Ranger is my only character i have ever since i started the game. No alts no nothing, because i love this class and i dedicated my gaming time in trying to enjoy it and improve as a player.
But honestly, Anet is like saying to me " Rangers ? Lol you got trolled reroll warrior or something ". I’ve been patiently waiting over 5 months for something to change, something to make me feel rewarded for the time i’ve spent playing this stupidly designed class and yet every patch i get served disappointment and bitterness.
I’m waiting until the next patch in last hope of something to change else i’ll officially quite my ranger and start another class. (..or maybe just quit the game since i haven’t had a single moment of enjoyment playing my favorite class in this game and i don’t know if have the patience to level up and gear up a new toon all over again)
Also something everyone seems to omit from this patch but affects rangers with wilderness survival traited is the nerf to the stealth not reseting aggro any more.
Now the IX skill Hide in Plain Sight is practically useless in pvE since the aggro doesn’t get off you when the stealth is applied. This might not make such a huge difference in killing normal mobs for grinding / daily achievements but it makes a huge difference in dungeons / champion soloing. Can’t count how many times this have saved my life when my pet was simply to stupid to hold on to the boss aggro and one stun / knockback put me in stealth and switched the aggro over to the pet / another group member.

They also stealth nerfed the Aquatic Slayer Daily Achievement ? It used to count the 1 hit KO mobs such as salmons, frogs etc etc. Now it doesn’t.
There are some updates missing from the notes. We are tracking down those, but some changes to the D/D and S/D ele build are in this patch despite not being in the notes.

I know it probably took you a long time to think and write that response and in your head it sounded cool, but that’s probably the most idiotic thing you could have said.
At your example, the fact that YOU are not good it doesn’t mean golf is at fault. It means that in a sport where everyone is given the same tools to work with you are being limited by your own performance only. Practice more, get better and watch your self rise.
Gather up lads, it’s story time :
Once upon a time, there was this kid and dreamed of being a competitive golfer one day. He was approached by GolfNet company and was fed promises and lies of things he could have been: " Hey kid, you got a mean swing right there. You will be a master in long shots, all your shots will be hole in one, you got talent kid. You are a star ".
But what they forgot to tell him is that on the first day his competitive career began they run him over with a golf cart putting him on a wheel chair to compete against fully functional opponents (some say it was by mistake, but most agree it was on purpose). It didn’t matter how good the kid was. He was restricted by his bad design which he couldn’t overcome no matter how many hours he practiced daily for months.
And at one point, the kid had enough waiting for the GolfNet doctors to operate and finally fix him so he said "kitten it, i’ll find my strongest aspect in my ridicously broken and weak kit and make the best of it " and the kid made breakthrough and came up with a swing unfamiliar to the rest of the golfers (a.k.a trap ranger) and that gave him a brief moment of glory and allowed him to feel like Tiger Woods for a second.
But guess what !! The rest of the golfers start complaining now that the kid on the wheelchair suddenly became OP overnight despite being almost useless for 8+ months in competitions. The most popular golfers (hey warriors) started protesting that the kids swing too strong (despite them being fed steroids since day one) and they can no longer win competitions against him by simply going afk and watch the ball roll by it’s self in the holes. (a.k.a rolling face on keyboard while shouting “Hurrr Durrrr i’m a warrior” ).
The kid though was still sad. Because despite finally catching a break in competitions, in his personal life he was still neglected and looked down. All the ladies (hey mesmers) prefer to go party in clubs with the most popular golfers (warriors) and their excuse is " Hey kid, you got a mean swing on the court, but in here (the dungeon) is disco fever baby. You need a full working body to bust your moves and get your groove on. And that useless dog you carry around is kitten all over the floor, and biting the customers. Not really helping your case ".
So the question now is… what will the GolfNet doctors do ?? Will they finally listen to the kid’s pleas for an operation to fix him so he can get down with the ladies again or just go along and break the kid’s hands along with his legs so he can’t use his swing to kitten off the popular golfers any more in competitions ?

Funny how people expect answers from Anet. They have proven to be irresponsible and hiding behind their fingers since beta regarding the ranger class. The only thing you can expect from Anet is nerfs on the new meta trap build because of all the idiots crying "omg trap ranger OP, i can’t roll my face on keyboard with my zerk warrior and kill them in 1 second any more QQ ".
Just give us the options to transfer our items and reroll to another class and delete the ranger class from the game because is a joke. A warrior that does more bow damage than the ranger is just proof that Anet is trolling. Enough said.

There’s a distinct feeling of hatred I have every time I see a Tropical Bird [Worthless Player’s Guild] spawn when I’m in a dungeon. I saw one spawn on level 28 of Fractals of the Mists, and we were already taking a while to kill things (2 rangers, enough said) – you can bet your bottom dollar I said something along the lines of “This upstanding gentlemen appears to be doing us the disservice of utilizing Magic Find armor, let us convince him of his errors and continue the dungeon without such impedances”. Except the opposite of that, I right click -> kicked and pulled one of my friends in.
The other give away (if you’re going to say WELL I DON’T USE ALL SIX PIRATE RUNES) is if someone’s saying FOR GREAT JUSTICE when uh.. you’re not a warrior.
What’s your problem with someone using MF runes ???
Personally i have 2 magic sets that i use.
1) Explorer’s set with pirate runes for solo farming / pve
and
2) Soldier’s Set with superior runes of the noble that i use for dungeons. Does it hinder me in dungeons and makes me less valuable than the rest of the group ? No because, unlike going full explorers set and losing toughness / vitality with that i have increased survivability , +90 power from runes plus an extra 50% magic find. Combined with a secondary berserkers weapon with sigil of luck and omnomberry pies i sit comfortably on ~100% magic find.
What’s your problem with that ? To me it’s clear that you suffer from one of the following :
1) Warrior that thinks the only set available for your class is the berserker set so you don’t want to lose “stats” by stocking MF

I agree that going full explorers armor in a dungeon makes you lose out in other stats and be less effective than the rest of your group but if you can manage to combine it without rendering your self bad like the example i gave you above, i don’t see where is the problem with that.

and if i see someone using MF i try and kick them and most of the time someone will kick with me but sometimes im forced to drop the dungeon on everyone by leaving the group.

That’s excactly the reason why crafting is totaly worthless in GW2. You can buy the item on TP for much cheaper than it would actually cost you to craft it… Sad days…
I’ve managed to finish my full exotic gear set today:
> Knight Armor with superior runes of the ogre
> Knight Accessories with berserker jewels
> Berserker Weapons
I’m close to completing 30 laurels and i looked up the accessories and since i didn’t find any knight’s accessories there i was thinking on what to invest the Laurels into.
I really love running with knights accessories the extra toughness feels too good so i’m a little hesitant in getting the berserker ones (or any other kind) from there.
What do you fellow rangers suggest ?
I have 2 sets of gear that i use :
1) Knights Armor (power, precision , toughness) with Superior Runes of the Ogre that i use for pvp
2) Soldiers Armor (power, toughness, vitality) with Superior Runes of the Noble that i use for dungeons
combines with berserker weapons, knight accessories with berserker jewels
Really, because two things, I never agreed that ranger was “so powerful, so perfect”, I never said it, actually. And trapper is not the ONLY viable build.
Is the only competitive build though.
What weapon from other proffesions would you like to see made available for ranger class ?
Personally i’d love if my ranger could use pistol !
Combination of Pistol / Warhorn or Axe / Pistol or Pistol / Torch !

ppl must be smarter with their condi application against someone who passively wipes them every 10s. the key word here is passively.
passive defences are double edged swords b/c the player has no control over when these defences will work. likewise with shared anguish or hide in plain sight.
proper class knowledge places the control over passive defences in the hands of the aggressor. that’s all i will say about beating trappers.
Or here’s a thought, maybe the fact that NO OTHER class in the game removes ALL CONDITIONS EVERY 10 SECONDS makes them overpowered? You know, just that other classes have entire abilities which take up utility slots and have cooldowns and have cast times and that remove ONE condition might make you wake up and smell reality.
Rangers are overpowered. Elementalists are overpowered. It’s not a L2P issue. It’s a BLATANTLY overpowered issue.

What skills do ranger posses that remove ALL conditions every 10 seconds ? You mean Signet of renewal ??? It removes just one. Which is hardly overpowered or gamebreaking . And by the way, elementalists have the same : Signet of Water
I love the tears about rangers in sPVP forum these days. Rangers only have one viable build and that’s the trapper. Until now none ever bothered complaining about ranger and now all of sudden ranger is op ?? Only major buff the ranger received was on the elite Entangle skill which not everyone uses.
Let me guess, you play Thief and now you cry because you can no longer just run around in stealth and poor rangers make you cry by setting traps for you to step on ? Next time try to kill the pet first before going for the ranger. To me it looks you have more of like a L2p issue rather than rangers being OP.
Really, just stop with this please. Pet is dead 90% of the time? Trait your pet or switch it, it’s really not that hard. Zero control? Give me a break. And dagger bad? Dagger is a great offhand.

Trait and switch ? I used to run a 0/10/30/0/30 build and the pet still gets killed in like 2 seconds everywhere. Dungeons ? 1 AOE and pet is down. WvW ? One AOE in the zerg and the pet is down. Only time the pet stays alive is when you find a 1vs1 duel which doesn’t happen often to me at least… And most of the times you don’t even have the time to react to switch fast enough before the pet gets one shotted.
And look your dps output when the pet is dead. Is simply laughable.
Dagger great offhand ?? Give me one viable and reasonable explanation to why anyone would run a dagger over a torch or warhorn as offhand weapon.
Not gonna lie though. I hope the trap build gets nerfed and see some buffs to range weapons and pet fixes. Because is ridiculous and idiotic to be a “ranger” and be forced to go melee in order to achieve decent damage while the Warrior class who supposingly is stronger in mellee form makes way more damage and utility with bows.
Like i said, i’m not denying that the ranger is better than it was before due to some fixes, but not let get blindfolded and jump on the bandwagon “OMG ranger is so strong, ranger so perfect” . Ranger has ONLY 1 viable build a.k.a trapper. Anything else just makes you a moving frag.
i would be happy if they just kept the same name for all to be honest…

Unresponsive pets, laughable damage when pet is dead (which is 90% of the times), zero control over your pet (lol at being called beastmaster) weapons that even if you removed them from ranger class i don’t think anyone would miss them (a.k.a Longbow, Greatsword, Dagger) and some might not even notice them being removed since they are rarely used and the list goes on and on.
Is true that ranger now is better than it was before due to some fixes, but it still needs work to be a reliable class.
Why? Because he doesn’t need it. This isn’t WoW, or any other game for that matter that uses a generic copypasta stealth system. It works totally different here.
There is a skill you can use though. They’re called Channeling skills and ranger probably has the best one.
Implying longbow is viable in any form of pvp. to use the #2 skill.
Unless you go pvp in zerg there is slim chance you will ever kill anyone in 1vs1 using longbow

I agree with this 100%, there are times that a pet needs to be stowed because it becomes a liability, even when in combat.
~Fighting the Maw in fractals is probably the best example, it often targets my pet several times in a row even when my pet is dead. This makes it annoying to have a ranger in the group because the fight will likely take much longer.
~Or when your group is about to wipe, the thief in the group comes along to save everyone with shadow refuge, but oh wait no, your pet is still visible so the mobs aoe hits everyone and you all wipe anyway (Or even worse, it hides your pet and not you, even though I am sure it is suppose to prioritize you over your pet).
~It is also a lot harder to pull mobs when your pet is out, especially in tightly packed areas, since the moment you attack your pet will pop out even when set to avoid combat, they are still likely pull the mobs you where trying to avoid. So you end up with both on you. This counts not just for pulling mobs but any situation where you are specifically trying to avoid mobs while still needing to use skills.
~I am not even going to explain jumping puzzles because I am sure every ranger knows what an annoyance pets can be with those.
The point being there are certain circumstances where stowing a pet in combat is needed.
When I have my pet set to ‘guard’ then it can pop out whenever I take damage or attack, but… if I set my pet to ‘avoid combat’ and I stow it away, I expected it to stay stowed away even if I take fall damage or start attacking, until I actually choose to bring it back out.
I do not expect a damage increase when pet is stowed, I simply want to stop being a liability to my group by having proper control over my pet.
Tell me about it. Once had a whole group raging at me at FOTM because the Maw kept targeting my pet and the battle was going on for 25+ minutes. Dunno why but he kept targeting it even though it was dead and i didn’t switch to a new one.
Make the Stow Pet skill : Pet get stowed permanently until recalled back. While stowed ranger gains 50% of pets attributes.
^ Not hard to implement, solves most of the pet issues and doesn’t make you a complete joke dps wise when you try to hit with no pet.
So when you are downed and you hit your 3 skill nothing happens because your pet is permanently stowed.
Is not hard to add a simple line of code where when you press the n3 skill the pet gets recalled to come and try to lick your wounds.

I’m not an elitist. I’m some guy who plays the game beside you and would offer help if you weren’t so kittening uptight about it.
I don’t even know what you’re talking about jumping over mountains, we usually kill all packs.
Anyway. Where are you stuck at? Tell me your group comp, where are you stuck, what is everyone doing? What boss is killing you, etc? We need details if you want help to completing it.

I apologize if i came off a bit strong and sounded hostile. Wasn’t my intention, it was just a rant of the moment. I’ll quote my self from a previous answer so you can understand my frustration with the specific dungeon:
My problem is not about that i don’t like a challenging dungeon. My problem is, that in a game with no designated healing and tank class, in a game where Anet so proudly claims “Everyone can tank” the reality is that not everyone can in such level of difficulty dungeons.
Unless you have guardians / mesmer etc to provide a bit amount of shields, protection and projectile reflection the dungeon is really frustrating. Why should i be restrained by team setups ?? Wasn’t your motto Anet that any team setup could do any dungeon with no problems ? Yes some setups maybe are better than others but i didn’t expect it to be at the point of unless you have this and this hero in your team you are most likely to fail.
My first 2 runs i did it with some friends. 2 rangers , 1 necromancer, 1 elementalist and 1 mesmer in group. It was nearly impossible to survive 5 minutes without at least 3 people dying…
I play a ranger and i run with full exotic gear with toughness, vitality, precision (obtained specifically for dungeons like that) and i still get 2 shotted by every boss in there, i still have hard time surviving in there and i have people bashing at me when i pug “omg noob ranger you are a glass cannon, rangers useless anywhere”.
That’s my problem!. I enjoy a challenging dungeon. But a dungeon that offers real challenge, not mindlessly trying to dodge roll through 20+ mobs and find the best spot to use an Ash legion spy kit in order to hope to survive the hordes chasing you just because you have no chance to kill them in fight.

Why doesn’t ranger have a skill to detect stealth or allow him to go in stealth for a short duration him self? Isn’t he supposed to be a hunter ? What do hunters do, they track down even the most tricky opponents and they are able to blend in their environment and camouflage to trick their enemies.
In every other MMO i’ve tried the hunter class is able to actually be a HUNTER class.
Having said that i suggest the following :
1) Trap of Light : Enemies that detonate the trap are marked with light and are visible for 10 seconds and blinded for 3. (visible only to the ranger)
2) Signet of Camouflage :
Passive: Successfully dodging an attack gains stealth for 0.5 seconds
Active: Ranger gains stealth for 3 seconds
bonus:
Buffs canines to be able to sniff out and still attack stealthed enemies.
I play ranger and i have 2 sets of magic find gear that i use.
1) Explorer’s gear (Power , Precision , Magic Find) with runes of the pirate and a weapon with sigil of luck and omnomberry bar. With that you have 18% armor, +50% runes (5 runes), +3% opal orb on helmet , and 15% on 25 stacks on weapon, +30% food = 116% (assuming that’s how it gets added, not sure)
^ That’s for solo farming and running around in pvE maps
2) Ascalonian set from AC (power, toughness, vitality) with superior runes of the noble , weapon with sigil of luck and omnomberry bar. 50% runes (5 runes), 3% helmet (opal orb), 15% from 25 stacks on weapon and 30% from food = 98%. Plus with superior runes of the noble you get +30 power bonus.
^ That for dungeons that require a little more bulky build to survive. As you see you can reach 100%+ magic find without sacrifising any major stats.
From personal experience the difference i see with magic find is not really that much. I noticed a small increase on white loot but the rare/exotic drops for me it look the same without using MF gear. If the possibility of a a rare/exotic to drop is 1% even with 100% MF you will get 2% which is still insignificant in my eyes.
You can go to fractals level 40 at character level 2. If you die, should the dungeon be redesigned down to your character?
When you enter fractals your level is adjusted to 80 and the mobs are 80 level. If you go as level 2 and complain about it, then you are an idiot.
On the contrary in CM you get adjusted to level 45-46 and the difficulty is harder than lvl 70+ dungeons.
Yet they still add level requirements to these things, then get thread after thread of complaints…if you add a 45 tag to it level 45 should be able to get through it no problems, Ascalonian Catacombs is the same, and TA, CoE…
We three manned it on level with a necromancer, mesmer, and warrior. It’s not impossible, you just have to adjust and use tactics, leash pulls, kites, etc. We have done every dungeon story and explorable on level with warrior, guardian, mesmer, and necromancer. It very much can be done. THis is why you get people saying these things. Because, yes they actually have done them.
Don’t try to sound like an elitist kitten. When you boast to 3 man a dungeon post also the time it took you to complete it. Maybe you have 2-3 hours to spend to do a single path just for the challenge. Not everyone has that time. And if you refer to p1 where you jump over the mountains to skip half the dungeon then lol at you.
If they want to prevent zerg rushing do it with timer. 4 – 5 minutes until next respawn when you are down. Being stuck in lava – unreachable places and let your team trying to 3 man – 2 man bosses because they simply can’t rez you is idiotic.
Once i got stuck in lava for 35 minutes in Sorrows Embrace Path 2 because my group never left combat, not because they didn’t want to but because there was always something aggroing at them. This is simply idiotic. Can’t imagine doing Arah and getting stucked in unreachable places. Heard stories for people laying dead for 1+ hours.
Put a 4- 5 minute timer to respawn and problem solved.
