Well that is quite disappointing. I was ok with many of the ‘nerfs’ to my class in regards to decreasing power level in some cases, but I wasn’t ok with ruining the flow of the game play for me. That and some bugs/poor design that are applying things when they shouldn’t and are most likely causing their changes to have the opposite of intended effects.
So basically these changes are forcing people to babysit objectives, micro manage siege, and basically do un-fun time wasting things instead of fighting players. Sounds like a pretty bad patch and will negatively impact our matchup.
Everyone complains about zerg balls and ANET is making zergs split up, it seems. So…nay still? I truly am glad I don’t work for anet. They simply can’t win, no matter how carefully they think things through.
Nah, it’s been keeping the zerg together more than ever. You can zerg through a tower and flip it before anyone can show up to defend it. Unless, of course, you’ve managed to convince some poor sods to sit there all day babysitting the tower instead of going out and earning wxp and the like.
Some people actually enjoy scouting it may sound shocking to you but if you ask people will scout and they won’t complain some enjoy it as they can multi task etc. Just because you don’t want to scout doesn’t mean its not a viable change so please stop complaining about it this especially after you made a thread about this specific change.
I enjoyed scouting. For example on home borderlands I’d be all over the place, and if swords popped up I’d rush over and call in reinforcements if necessary. You can’t do that anymore. Instead of scouting you need to park somewhere and wait. You become a sentry instead of a scout. Scouting (for me) was being mobile and responsive. Sentry duty now is static. If your tower doesn’t get attacked, hey, fun night keeping those ACs up, right? Shoot a rabbit maybe…
Shooting those rabbits might help with that ambient creature daily!!
I have yet to play with the changes, I didn’t log in yesterday, but I will be on tonight.
I think Anet is making changes to try and alleviate the zergballs. With this new change to the swords going up after 30 seconds, it may be more beneficial now to try and split your forces to roam on opposite sides of the map and actually take the time to protect what you cap.
Good fights last night on SoR BL. It was fun taking back our corner!
Had some really good fights last night on JQBL defending Bay! It was one of the most intense half hour to 45 minutes I’ve had in WvW in a while.
Elite is a silly word, I’ll instead name commanders that I personally like to follow.
Glorious Stei*, Sasarella*, Velkeri*, Wok for a living, Ben Sheets, Kreen, Shalile, Jedbacca, Cue Queue, Waha Foo, Mance, Ravanaz, Chacha…. man, too many to remember, now.
*Technically violates the no guild members rule, but this is my careface :P
:D d’awww thanks!!!!
Use Cardinal direction….
Directions don’t help when everyone’s drunk jed you know this I mean look at our reset night reactions!
Dat Endgame Camp
Good fights all round this week ladies and gentlemen. Get out your shot glasses and bottles, tonight’s gonna be another one of those nights
Every night is drinking night for Alcoholytes!
Thanks for the fun fights in SoR (Aco). Was fun fighting even numbers in between running from that 80 man SoR zerg.
(Pro) Nashin
I think JQ split up their group into 2 with Aco running a group of their own. The Aco group probably have 15 to 30, depending how many pugs following. BG had about 20 to 30 running around. As usual, SOR runs with their 75+ zerg.
Youre welcome and thanks
We field about 20-30 on reset nights and usually about 10-15 on nights during the week. Working on recruiting to get more consistent and more numbers in WvW. But I have been in maps where we’ll have about 50 following me including pugs.

Just a couple clips I put together of some zerg fights that I wanted to share with the community. I hope you enjoy
Welcome back to T1 BG!
This next week should be an interesting match. Goodluck to all!
Goodluck to SoS with their future in WvW! It’s sad to see you guys go, I feel like it’s been JQ and SoS in T1 forever…
Thanks for all the good fights!
Looking forward to tonights reset and this coming weeks fights!
Good luck to all servers this week!
Come on. Saturday during the day, most people have other things to do than sit inside and waste away on the computer. Of course coverage issues are coverage issues, but just less so on the weekend.
Anyways, JQ and SoS putting us in our place so far this week. I am enjoying it.
JQ has traditionally always been worse on the weekend.
We have a lot of people who show up to WvW on the weekend who dont hop in the TS or follow the commanders.Last night we had some of the best cohesiveness on all map’s I’ve ever seen imho. We had groups that were coordinating with people on different VOIP’s, not in TS and they all were working really well on all sides.
Friday night reset was a lot of fun! Great fights from all sides.
Any server can post on here there shouldn’t be any restrictions on that.
Score update!

I can’t figure out a picture so a link will have to do!
Just use the attachment upload thingy. Yes thats the scientific term.
Good fights last night on the SoS BL! The three-way fight in the Lords room of Bay was pretty intense. Good stuff guys, these are the kind of fights I like. Really intense, the power shifting from force to force; lets keep em coming!
This was awesome. I can’t wait to see more of yours. Now I wanna play my engie!
Thanks I’m currently working on another one. Ill be sure to post it on here when its finished
I’m sorry? I saw a 20 man SoR zerg running around
Lol 20 players = zerg.
Oh man.
According to the MOS charts, Jade Quarry has been 1st 4 times, 2nd 10 times, and 3rd 3 times (we were also almost bumped to T2)
JQ was in T2 for what was it, 1 or 2 weeks?
Yeah I wasnt sure because it wasn’t on the MOS ranking thing, and I didn’t WvW much back then. :/
- Frustrated player morale for being number two for many weeks.
how many weeks were you in second? legit question since i wasnt paying attention.

These do not reflect the attitude’s we want. Yes weekends are a struggle but it’s not because of the highlighted reasons. Do not try and say it is. Weekend’s we struggle getting numbers in but that’s not the fault of those in the maps. It’s simply a reality when people have more time on the weekends they will play more which also lengthens queues. How we do on the weekend is different than the weekdays for many reasons but do not ever claim it’s cause of “bandwagoners or disorganized pugs” because if we are losing in ppt its because of our OWN Lack of effort and organization not because of someone else.
Well said. Bravo sir. Can we get a “like” option please?
As for being bag dispensers, I heard I personally have a higher percentage of dropping Legendaries. I’m the big Charr warrior with a big hammer in front of the SF tags.
Jed youre back! Does this mean we get to hear another Jed song later?
What’s SoS’s excuse going to be this weekend?
“JQ is only winning because we let half of our members play in the Superbowl this weekend and let the other half go watch.”
Totally just joking btw. Trying to bring in some light heartedness to this thread. There’s too much bashing going on. Just relax everyone. It’s a game!
Oh wow! Thanks for all the kind words guys I enjoy making videos, so Ill make sure to post more when I do them.
I don’t know why it’s JQ’s fault for getting new guilds.
We can’t stop people from transferring, and we definitely can’t make guilds transfer over.
Every T1 server had the same opportunity to appeal to guilds wanting to move up before the end of free transfers.
Just a little video I made of some 1v1’s with my engineer. Thought I’d share it with the community, hope you all enjoy!
There was one of our trial members (new recruit) that was on the Sea of Sorrows server today trolling on one of their borderlands. It was brought to our attention and we have removed him from the guild. Our apologies to the Sea of Sorrows community. We don’t want to be known for having trolls in our guild, and we definitely don’t want to ruin the JQ community or stain the JQ image to others.
So on behalf of the Acolytes, we are sorry for whatever issues this player caused for you. And thanks to [AoS] and whoever else was involved in contacting me.
Welcome to all the new guilds that have transfered to JQ!
Aco will also be participating in this.
Who are we? The Acolytes were founded in 2004 with the basic principle of creating a strong, social gaming community. Since then we have offered many outlets for our members to enjoy their time together as a community. That could be grouping together doing a dungeon or playing a drinking game on mumble. Currently we have branches in 7 MMO’s including Guild Wars 2. Our membership has been strong for 8 years and it continues to grow each day.
What are we doing to address those needs? The Acolytes have placed experienced leaders to run the branch prior to launch. These leaders have spent many hours working together to create the best environment for our member base. The leadership group is in constant contact and work as one to continue the success of the branch. The environment of the guild has had a positive impact on the whole server community with events like Pink Day in LA and Aco Claus Wintersday Present Giveaway.
What principles guide this chapter? Almost as a result of how Guild Wars 2 was developed, the most important thing here is that people are having fun. We are a zero-low drama guild of friends who like to spend time online together. We have every type of player ranging from casual 5 hours a week to hardcore 50 hours a week, and the important thing is that we all log into a great game and have a great time together.
I made an elixir based engineer which you can see here
