I only play 2 characters. I need 120 laurels for them just for the armor(one set for wvw, one for dungeons). Assuming I craft the weapons instead of praying to RNG god for the drop, and also the right stat set drop (note: I ‘ve never seen an ascended weapon drop) there goes an other 80 laurels. Let’s say I get the rings from fractals and the earrings with guild commendations, and I buy my amulets from WvW, I need an other 80 laurels. So a total of 280 laurels to dress up my 2 chars, which is about 7 months. Well thought.
Can we get an official response on this?
You also get several gifts by opening the giant present every time you defeat Toxx. I was also getting a personalized gift at the end of every wave, on top of that.
But, like the other activities, it’s mainly something to do for fun. If you don’t like it, don’t do it. Sure, it might have been exciting to get more glamorous rewards, but the lack of them isn’t an excuse to call the activity bad.
I’m not exactly concerned about the glamorous rewards, I just think they should be more judging by the time we spent in. And some people like me, really liked it but are not willing to spend an other hour in it to finish it. It should last less imho.
I thought it was fun too, but I’d have more fun if it was half an hour, instead of one.
@Mr eX, no I ’ve finished it and didnt get any cogs. I wondered why they gave us 200, and was hoping from an extra 50 from toypocalypse.
Toypocalypse lasts about an hour, and the reward is 4 personalized gifts containing ugly wool clothing. U can get much more by doing the jingles or snowball mayhem, in half time.
I did enjoy it though, but it gets tedious and repeating after a while.
Tbh, I was expecting something more of a spectacular reward for the final event.
Apparently there was something unbroken in a field of stuff that had already been broken. I’m guessing it’s bugged though doable.
Since it was unbroken, how is it bugged? You just didn’t see a miniature, big deal. Took us some time too. Quit blaming it to bugs.
Just restart few times in LA during peak hours, they are server based spawns.

Ah, so I guess its the monthly parts. But was it intended?
I ‘ve done the 2 snowball fight achievements, the puzzle, the snowmen, the 2 with the music and 2 achievements in the grove tixx dungeon.
That is a total of 8 out of 12 achievements.
However, I’m currently standing at 10/12. I was wondering if this is intended or a bug, and if anyone else has 10 out of 12. (not complaining). I’m not quite sure, but I assume the 2 wintersday related monthly achievements might have counted towards the title progression.

Did some wondering around today, after an explorable run. This is as far as I could get before getting bored, but I believe it’s possible to climb up a little bit higher.

The bug is repeatable.
Stand at max distance and range him. He won’t aggro until you are closer, or another joins in and gets too close.
You can solo kill him if you fight the whole time at range. But it can reset if you get too far away, stop attacking, or anything. Reset makes you start all over.
If you have an entire group, and everyone stays at range, grub does nothing. But any pets will ruin it.
It is more of a challenge trying to kill it with not aggroing it. lol. Kinda fun too.
Oh. Thanks for explaining how to recreate it, I hope it catches the attention of a developer.
I ‘ve initiated a fight with the grub in the Valley keep at Eternal battlegrounds just about 20 mins ago and it wouldn’t fight back. I don’t know how to reproduce the bug but just in case it helps I captured in screenshot the exact position I was when I attacked it. I also might have started the fight with an immobilize skill, Shockwave of Elementalist but I ’m not 100% sure. The moment an other guy attacked him, it appeared not attacking back at first, but then it started fighting. Also, I should note that while fighting him I was always in and out of combat, for no apparent reason.
Edit: I ‘ve reached him at about 50% before more people came in, so it isn’t un-bugging even at phase changes, where it is sposed to dig into the ground and appear somewhere else (He didnt spawn grubs either). I assume I could have solo him without ever getting attacked.

I am sorry for both of you, but they cannot restore your items, even when it’s not your fault.
So you won’t get anything back from Anet, unless maybe it is bugged and will magically reappear again in your inventory.Sorry :-(
Unless you are an ANet representive cut the crap, and let the guys wait for an official response.
Imho, you should submit a ticket for personal issues, they get answered faster. Forum is for general bugs.

First of all, I would like to point out that I ’ve stopped playing the game around the end of september/start of october due to various reasons, with the game-related reason being the lack of progression to the path of acquiring a legendary.
I came back on last saturday to check this event, fractals and the new area.
I love the fractals. It solves every single existing dungeon problem. They are fun dungeons, with nice stories, with the scaling difficulty being their best positive and I can see myself doing them for a long time before I get bored.
On the downside, they really need to find a work-around for disconnected players to re-join. I realise this measure is in place to prevent last minute joined players to lvl up their difficulty, but this can be easily solved by disabling a FoTM’s group invites. This said, the last time we had a player disconnect (at lv 8 ) we could still finish the run, but I don’t think thats the case for higher lvls.
The other thing I believe needs a change is the permanent difficulty memory. A one month reset (not a week, like earlier rumours) seems ideal to me.
I see people complaining about people asking standard gear (e.g full exo) to join a group. So far, I ‘ve never seen that in my server or the overflows. I, myself am missing some exo parts and noone ever asked about my gear, nor did I. I had no trouble reaching my current level (12) and I’m only joining PuG groups.
About the ascended gear:
A nice touch, slightly better gear, giving us a goal until the ultimate goal, the legendary weapon. I see them as optional, since the only stat that is significantly boosted on them is MF. To be honest, I don’t think they are really needed until lvl 20+ FoTM. Regarding the grind complaints, I just don’t see any grind. FoTM is fun, the preq item drops frequently (I got the first one until lv 5 I believe), and the rest of the items is a week max for a non-hardcore player. (saw few backpacks on second day)
I love the new mini-update, can’t wait for more and I am back to stay. Unfortunatelly, the same people complaining originally for lack of content, now found a new reason to do so.
Universal tokens? No thanks. People would only run the easiest path of the easiest dungeon then.
Can you please tell me in which part exactly I said universal tokens? I said universal legendary dungeon item.
I’d like to see you post a video of you DPSing the whole event Kevin because you kitten can’t. The last guy to post a video here of his group trying ended up kiting most of the spawns past the 80 second mark.

Legendary staff needs 500 arah shards, while other weapons need much easier and/or less time wasting dungeons, such as CoF, CM or TA.
Honestly, the only solution I see to make this fair, is make the 500 token item universal.
Edit: Note that I’m not QQing on the difficulty of the dungeon, rather than the length compared to others.

Can a Anet representative even bother to reply on Balthazar status? 3 weeks or so bugged, that is ridiculous. Is this on purpose so people don’t get their legendaries early?
Is Anet even fixing anything? Since I ‘ve started all fixes I ’ve seen are targeted at dungeons and farmers. Orr content is bugged and dead for weeks. Worst of all, we hear nothing from Anet, we have no idea what’s going on. Last game status update was at 14 sept for gods sake.
Edit: That’s the latest bug associated with ToB meta-event. So far the others I ’ve encountered:
*Southern forces never arrive, no matter what pre-event you finish
*Pact attack is heading to balthazar, and stucks into an infinite loop at the stairs just before the temple, hitting those spider-foot look-like spikes(?) for ever and ever.

Lv 80, hardcore gamer, only affected by DR once, after prolonged farming for potent bloods. Well, I ofcourse get less dungeon rewards after multiple runs, but that’s fine. Never got affected at DEs. I guess you should just vary your game, I’m doing tons of things, a dungeon there, a puzzle later, some WvW, some sPvP, dungeon again, farming and so. And not because ANet made me, but because its more enjoyable to do it this way. If I wasn’t logging in forums, I wouldn’t know about the DR probably and I’d consider the dungeon decreased rewards normal.
Well it will be, if you are not planning to do more runs instantly, then DR won’t take effect.
Well the Magg revival exploit was an incredibly smart idea(lightball!). I ‘ve tried to convince myself for a long time that it’s not, although I knew it is. (Having used it for a similar purpose in my PS, when enemy attack waves bugged and became infinite, made it easier) Hell, thats what our skill is doing, right? Anyway everyone will keep doing it: no point running path 2 with DR on, if you are doing it without res exploit, you will just loose money. Especially if you are a low survivability profession like myself.
I had the same problem. Couldn’t do CoF path 1. And I was also saying that he is broken etc. I thought it was only possible for certain groups, with certain profs. After doing some changes today, I have to admit that I sucked hugely. We did the boss in about 1 minute, faster than any youtube video I ’ve seen, or anyone I ’ve heard doing it. When we do it again tommorow, I ’ll make sure to post a video.
Our group was: Elementalist, Thief, Necromancer, Guardian, Warrior.
All rewards are susceptible to our code that is dealing with people who are speed clearing dungeons. If you find yourself getting less rewards consider whether or not your rate of dungeon completion is extremely high. This did not get reset with the patch.
If you think you are running at a fairly reasonable pace post all of the chains you have run and the times to complete and we will file it to try and figure out if it is a bug. Please post accurate times, otherwise we cannot determine if there are in fact bugs in the system.

I am a bit confused here. Which one of this is correct:

However, a bug in that system caused it to impact more players than intended. This week, we’re updating the system to not impact clearing different chains of the same dungeon. We’ll continue to evaluate this system in coming weeks.
DR wont impact different paths, or if our finishing rate is fast, it will? Your post says the second, patch notes, say the 1st.

I was under the impression, since pre-launch, that Explorable Mode paths were not meant for “random parties” or “pugs”, but more for a well organized team of individuals who theorycraft strategies and what-not.
Well our organised team, in voice chat, changing everything for this path, from skills to sigils to food to have more flame legion damage, failed hard. The only way to do this path is with huge burst damage, and players with -% healing effect. Thus, asking for a certain group format, mostly affecting elementalists & engineers.

Shouldn’t this system only work if you are doing the same path over and over again?
Whats the point in doing a new path, if you still get less rewards?
COF is impossible to do with this moment. Protecting Magg while he is applying the bomb is impossible to do. Suicide attempts doesn’t work, and killing the mobs is downright impossible.
I’ll have to try this when the rewards are fixed, because getting 2 tokens per clear is kind of useless to me. But I doubt it’s impossible, given you take the right abilities with you.
Well 1st CoF path, you need a specific group set-up, not what we ‘ve been promised at this game. We ’ve tried with full flame legion dmg set-up, and still our dmg wasnt close to enough to kill the last boss. 2nd path, took us about 10-20s repairs each to protect magg while planting explosives. Couldn’t find the courage to try the 3rd after 4hours of fail, trying everything possible in 1st path.
Why so carebear? Go back to wow if you want to faceroll dungeons..
How the hell is CM undoable for most parties? That’s probably on my top 3 easiest dungeons..

So shut the kitten up, open your eyes, and read a whole forum complaining about CoF/Arah (ones I personally tried); about CM is what I’ve heard from guildies/friends, didn’t run it.
Well either you r a smartkitten pro, either you never tried any of this dungeons today.
Should we expect a patch to sort this? Any timeframe? Cause there is really nothing to do now PvE wise.

You are right: elementalists are useless there.
No pug, with superior sigil of smothering, potent potion of flame legion slaying, we cant get the boss down no matter what we do, or which guide we follow. Great job Anet!
*Searing effigy impossible in certain group builds.
*Magg protection while he plants explosives is nearly impossible. Took us 15-20s repairs each, not in a pug group. (I know that doesn’t qualify as a bug)
*A group member that never done tha dungeon before got 6 carvings.
*Old carvings dont stuck with new.
*New carvings don’t work with compact option of inventory, they just get placed at random places. However, they seem to add together at LA merchant: total is displayed at the end of the shop. I ’ll check soon if its possible to buy something with both.
Raehvyn you are talking about the Borderlands puzzles which are considerably easier & personally I never ever got attacked in them.
OP is talking about EB one.
