This is why I’m glad that the dailies count towards the Meta. I usually avoid these type of achievements unless I have a LOT of time on my hands
Yes I agree it is pretty boring. I’ve been using the Labyrinth to lvl my alts
It was better than Lunatic Inquisition anyway
and I agree I hope the CTF game is back in the Winter
It’s not worth doing if you’ve already got the Meta, unless you’re levelling an alt like I am, although there’s usually a decent zerg at peak time on my server (Aurora Glade)
Hopefully an Elder will wake up and swallow her whole
I was hoping that the Living story would build towards the awakening of another Elder Dragon
Ascent to Madness was better than Resealling the Bloody Prince as well
I do want these rewards, but not badly enough to waste my time getting 15k candy corn
It does help if you have someone to do it alongside. As well as stability skills it helps if you have some knockback skills of your own
I still haven’t done Iron Marches or Timberline Falls. Bloodtide Coast was bugged (no spawns whatsoever) so I still need that one as well
Succeeded on 4 out of 5 so far. The one I failed was on a map which I, and numerous others, hadn’t been to before, so it was difficult to waypoint
Totally agree with the OP. The way she was introduced was well executed too imo
Exact same problem. I want my watchknight back. I sincerely hope that vile Fiend Scarlet didn’t take control of it!
Totally agree about monthlies, and good to hear that I won’t have to grind almost the same 5 events each day
OMG i was thinking “How strong is this thing/how crap am I if I can’t even land any damage on this thing!?” and was lookign through google for a guide to defeat it :P
luckily I got the skill point by getting my trusty earth elemental to tank it

Totally agree. WoW is more popular but I didn’t really have as much fun playing WoW than I have playing GW2 so for me it’s the best MMO on the market. There’s plenty of room for improvement, but unlike other gaming companies I have more confidence in A-Net
Totally agree. The norn areas are epic
I agree with the OP. I enjoyed getting the Dostoev Sky Vista due to the challenges presented by the Dredge. As an elementalist though I have to go full pelt against them all to take them down (i.e. no holding back of certain skills/Combos), which can be mentally draining after a while. So yes very challenging.
They should merge servers for Orr, at least until they add better content there
I’d be very surprised if you were :p
I didn’t get a gift either
profiled as I would like some clarification
It’s not dying, it’s just settling after the initial hype (which, as you’d expect, was way over the top, tipping it to be a WoWkiller)
Attended
Didn’t loot due to disconnections
Got a karka box in the mail
There’s an RC Golem Chess activity in Metrica Province. It’s pretty lame though – I was expecting a GW2 variation on Chess
I totally agree that Dredgehaunt cliffs is a pain. Plus, being an Elementalist makes the Dredge my mortal enemy. I can’t even hold back my strongest attacks on them so it feels as though I’m doing boss fights every few minutes

Hopefully they’ll add some good activities in places like DR (like they said they would) so that the racial hometowns are worth staying in
I was on yesterday night (at peak time) and I was pleasantly surprised at how many other people I saw in Lornar’s pass.
It’s worth sticking to. The game is still young, with plenty of time to grow and recover from mistakes.
Plus I’ve played worse MMOs than this for long enough to know the difference between players overreacting and a game genuinely being in decline.
I’m still enjoying levelling my character. Does the game have problems? yes. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t, but other MMOs around at the moment make GW2’s problems look like a drop in the ocean
it’s not in trouble just yet because firstly the game is young, and thus has plenty of time to recover from mistakes and introduce updates to win back disatisfied players.
I would say that it’s not going to be as successful as the hype (what game is?) but it’ll still remain alive and well. Compared to other games in the genre (with the possible exception of WoW), GW2’s problems are a mere drop in the ocean
On google trends the search volume has dropped, but it’s still a level above most MMOs, and on xfire the only MMO ahead of it is WoW
I often log in with my alts to farm lower lvl mats to craft with my main
I’m still enjoying the game although that’s probably because I’ve not reached level 80 yet. I also thoroughly enjoyed the halloween event (Most fun I’ve had on an MMO for a loooooong time) and I’m hoping that next month’s event will be on a similar level
Of course there are things about the game that annoy me, but I guess that coming from Runescape makes GW2’s problems look like a drop int he ocean :P
I very much fulfill the OP’s description of a casual player, plus I’ve been careful not to rush through lvling my main, so that I can enjoy the game rather than feeling as though getting to 80 was a chore and then moaning about lack of progression (as some were doing before the announcement of ascended items being introduced)
I do worry that it might be a while before I can easily get into a dungeon group, but that’s a small price to pay at the moment.
I favoured Glyph of harmony as I disliked the signet, although as a human I evntually settled on prayer to Dwayna
To be honest, I’d like to hope that these Ascended items are the only tier of gear progression that they add in the near future
I got one this morning on one of my low lvl alts, but yeah I only seem to get them less than half as much as before, which is thankfully made up for by the price increase
Just a 1s timer on VF will suit me fine. I’m sick of being in VF before I’ve even realised that I’m downed
I destroyed my matter meter, on the theory that if we need it again, we’ll be given it again
Normally by the time I get to use the 3rd ability, I’m dead immediately afterwards. I do like the fact that if #3 gets the job done then i can recover with #4, but i’m rarely fortunate enough to get into that situation
There’s something fundamentally wrong with a class if you’re pretty much forced into a defensive set up in order to enjoy playing it
Before halloween I never played for more than an hour at a time, because I always got bored after an hour or so, but found the game entertaining enough to play casually
The halloween event has recaptured my interest though and it also helps that I’ve finally got the hang of playing my elementalist effectively
I hate the fact that it’s the 2nd slot on downed state now, because sometimes when I click on my target and get downed within the same instant it registers the click as me selecting “Vapour form”
For this reason, I love playing as an elementalist, and am also enjoying my engineer
Tottally agree with the OP, though the only other MMO i’ve played is Runescape, which never really set the bar that high. Anyway I really enjoyed myself in GW2 these past two weeks.
I enjoyed the scavenger hunt – was really cool seeing higher lvls helping me and other low lvls out in the high lvl areas I loved the boss fight. The labyrith I think could’ve been a bit more interesting and I didn’t bother with the clock tower or BLCs. All in all though, a great effort from Anet for this holiday event, particularly compared to jagex’s lame effort for Runescape.
profiled as I too would like to know
As Brian’s quote says, the chest upgrade is released tomorrow. I’m gonna wait ’til the 24th though, just in case there are any bugs :P
