Just getting back in gw2 after a few months, been wanting to update my current build and this looks just what I need. I usually just play WvW roaming, do you suggest I go for your set which is really mean in WvW? Also, what exactly is your mix of valk/ber/ass armor? I’m guessing its head+gloves/shoulders+pants/chest+feet?

I’m not a big fan of fotm, if possible, can we obtain ascended back pieces through various other methods such as WvW, much like the rings and amulets? or dungeons?

Hey fellow guardians, I’ve been meaning to try out a new build lately and wanted to know the viability. To date, I’ve been running a AH build 0/0/30/30/10. Soldiers Armor, Zerker accessories/weapons. (Mainly, Hammer/GS/Staff) and its been great.

But how well would a MF build do in comparison? Without changing too much gear (just runes, sigils), trait-wise 10/30/30/0/0 or 0/30/30/10/0 and using mainly 1h weapons – sword, scepter, shield. How much survivability is lost? and is the drop in survivability made up for in the increase in damage, DPS and power?

As some context, I mainly play WvW, with some dungeons and PvE on the side. I rarely delve into fractals.

Hey guys, I know this may be a bit hard to find but i’ll try my luck. I reside on SoS and main a level 80 guardian. I would like to take part in guild missions with a large guild that does not require 100% representation. This is because I am in a small guild with a group of friends, and we usually PvE & WvW quite often. I plan on switching back and forth between guilds frequently if possible.

If there are any guilds out there that run missions frequently and do not mind having a player that does not rep 100% of the time. I would be honored to join you.

Could we have a feature to change our display name? I would really like this as I used to play a mesmer, but then fell in love with the guardian. “Chaosmesmer” doesnt really fit anymore and if possible, I would really like to change it into something else.

Now that i have 30 laurels, is there any specific ascended amulet that would fit best for this build? or would it be better to continue using a exotic knight’s one till they release an ascended knight’s amulet?

Help! So i had a level 80 warrior with knight’s armor, but then i thought that i would rather have the armor on my guardian. However, it is soulbound onto my warrior. I have tried transmuting it onto another piece in hopes to make it account bound but it is still soulbound. What can i do to make it not soulbound so i can equip it on my guardian?

Yeah devs have stated that there will be more stat choices for ascended gear. But i would really like a rough ETA of when to expect these.

Thanks but would this be the same for accessories as well? Start with knights and as you get better use berserkers? I need to know where to wisely spend my laurels :P

I have a question regarding armor guys. Which is better to gain you that “sweet spot” of critical chance and damage while maintaining a tanky build? P/V/T Armor and Knight trinkets? or Knights armor and P/V/T trinkets? or just full on knights everything?

So i started a guardian last week and am loving it more so than my warrior :p I’ve been planning on going for an AH build 0/5/30/30/5 or 0/0/30/30/10 with a hammer so far.
Right now i have no clue on what gear to get for endgame. I’ve always wanted to be tanky and able to absorb hits while dealing out a decent amount of damage [PvE, Dungeons]. Should i aim for Soldier’s armor or Knight’s? As for runes, would 5x Ranger 1x Lyssa be a good choice?

Weapon wise – is berserker’s the way to go? any suggestions for sigils for my hammer?
Lastly, accessories, should i aim for Berserker’s as well or i was thinking Cavalier’s (power/tough/crit damage) may be a good choice too.

Sorry for all these questions, i just need help sorting out my build. MANY THANKS in advance.

I’m looking for some recommendations. In WvW what would be a good mainhand weapon to go alongside a warhorn? Should i get power/prec/crit weapons for best dps? Also, which sigils are best to use?

@Echo – Wow, i was looking for a sword/shield support build. This seems just like what i was looking for thanks. With your suggested build, what gear would you recommend? I’m thinking Knights gear but rune-wise i’m a bit unsure. Weapons, berserkers? For Sword i was thinking possibly sigil of earth or corruption and shield i was planning sigil of restoration. Longbow – unsure. What do you think?

For the OP, the sonic boon build is mainly for dungeons and not WvW. It does provide some support but as i recall, Brand mentioned the main role of his build was to provide dps in a party rather than support.

I think sword and shield could work great but like you am unsure on trait combinations. Possibly 10/10/20/30 or 10/20/10/30 might work? However, if you prefer going full tank / support, the best weapon combination personally i prefer is the mace/shield – trait wise just make sure to have 30 in both tactics and defense.

Anet, i love wintersday and all the activities so far; well okay maybe except the repeated events in the dungeons.

Anyways, i have fallen in love with the unbreakable choir bell but do not have sufficient gold to purchase it off the TP and it hasnt dropped after opening a few hundred boxes.

Would there be any possibility that before wintersday is over, could the unbreakable bell show up in the gem store? I wouldnt mind spending cash for this.

I usually run with 10/30/0/30/0
10 in Strength for either the falling damage trait – when i WvW or Berserker’s power
30 in Arms for Deep cuts, rending strikes and forceful greatsword
30 in Tactics for empowered, lung capacity and VS

Sorry, i’m not too sure but for a bleed build imo higher bleed duration is important as long as you also have strong condition damage. Agreed, mobs do die fast but in cases like dungeons, it becomes more important then.

Haha thanks, i’m kinda testing that atm, similar to the OP but a bit different, im trying out a S/S build + shouts.

Edit: if it doesnt stack that well, then i guess just go for 3x krait runes and 3x afflicted. Plus, remember food, (cant remember the name) – you can get up to 40% increased condition duration.

Also, not so sure if this stacks but 2x sigil of agony on swords. If not, then earth + agony

hmm, just had a crazy idea for your build, rune wise i don’t know how viable this is but hey, you could go with 2x centaur runes, 2x krait runes and 2x afflicted. That way, bleed duration is increased like 45%

Yeah Vilhelm, im probably planning on going with Rampager’s armor but with Apothecary accessories.

One question, trait-wise im planning on going either 20/20/0/30/0 or 10/30/0/30/0. Is the grandmaster minor trait worth it (the one that does 10% more damage to bleeding enemies) or would it be better to invest it into the Dual Wielding Trait?

Hey all, i’m looking for a build that incorporates sword/sword and shout healing. Would this be a good combination?? Trait wise i was thinking along the lines of 10/30/0/30/0. Gearwise, I was thinking of Knight Armor and Weapons, or should i aim for something with condition damage? I mainly do dungeons with my guild mates and WvW.

So I’ve almost reach level 80 and can’t decide between two builds. I’m building mine towards a shout, support warrior and mainly do dungeons and WvW.

I dont mind sacrificing damage output if it allows me to have a high survivability and am able to support my friends well in a party. But however, when im soloing – this may be an issue.

Thanks nilgoow. Yeah trait wise, i was debating whether the greatsword training was better or if i should instead spec 10 into chaos to get the reducing falling damage trait (for WvW)

So armor wise, should i aim for a full berserkers?? i can see how this would maximise my damage output but how about survivability?

So i really like the GS/Staff combination, and occasionally do Dungeon runs with my guild and WvW.

Trait wise for my shatter build is 20/20/0/0/30 best? or should i add a bit of toughness – 10/20/10/0/30??

Armor and weapons – do i aim for condition damage or direct damage?? i’ve heard full berserkers is good, but would valkyrie’s, rampager’s or another set be better??

I recently just purchased a set of Mad King’s Outfit from the Gem Store, however, i did not receive anything in the mail. Help!

If you’re thinking of condition damage, gear-wise you could go for Carrion gear since you said you have enough crafting mats. Other wise i suggest going for a TA, Arah or CM set with Toughness/Precision/Condition Damage.

Thanks for all the replies, yeah Orbs do seem like the most viable option – cheap and good. I’ll most likely use them in the mean time whilst saving up money for better runes.

Hmm yeah divinity’s is expensive and infiltration could be a viable option. Thanks ravic i’ll keep that in mind. So instead from the sound of replies would jewels (emeralds) be best instead of runes?

Well, i’m speccing my engi towards a rifle/grenade build and just crafted my full exotic berserker set. Right now though, im unsure of what superior runes to place in them, are there any suggestions?

I’m mainly play PvE and Dungeons, so i would like something that can solo if necessary. So should i go for Rune of the Golemancer? Rune of the Ranger? Rune of Divinity? or a different rune? What attributes should i focus on?
