don’t stop making outfits, just make them 6 pieces withc 4 color channel each cause right now they are a joke
This isn’t a good idea, to be honest.
The main reason why ArenaNet can release outfits is exactly because they’re basically a single piece. That means ArenaNet does not need to worry about how each individual piece would interact with the other armor options available in the game; and since each weight class has different styles, in order to avoid clipping the outfits would have to be different for heavy armor users, medium armor users and light armor users.
In other words, it would be a lot of extra work, which would mean less outfits.
You put efforts in your work, People appreciate your efforts, People pay because of that more willingly. That’s how things work, and right now the whole outfit policy doesnt sound like " putting efforts "
There are thousands of People that are willing to pay just because single pieces in every outfit that they like, how come this aint MORE profitable ?

i’ll say the same thing i said on the thread that popped on reddit with the exact same topic.
I have it and use it but I found some decisions awful.
THE ARMOR for the people coming loyaly from their previous game they put on broken dyes schemes ( if you color the shirt you also color the waistcoat, totally the countrary of the concept art )huh? the corset and the jacket (for the lack of a better term) are on separate channels. the only thing that gets in the way of the concept art is that the boots and the outer skirt are on the same channel, but the difference is negligible.

your shirt and you waistcoat share the same color and it’s depressing, if you check the female picture up above you see her waistcoat and her shirt ( coming out from the sleeve ) green

While i’m not particullary excited about this new outfit ( OUTFITS, some of them may look cool but they make me feel cold about it, you cant mix-match with other armors ) I’m still happy because of the direction taken way more similar to GW1.
Still this outfit looks " poorly inspired " to my eyes.
Fore example, look at those doodles on the jacket and pants, they are totally RANDOM imho, just to make it feel MORE COMPLEX.
Now look at old mesmer armors, you’ll never see one of those shiny-random-doodles and yet they look way more pondered when drawn ( and way more cool ).
They totally forgot the aehstaetic spirit and main characteristics for that class ( pants ?! )

I’m a " fashion-victim " about this things ( I’m Italian, a close friend of mine is into fashion accademy plus I’m one that note details like a detective ) and i remembered well those old armors, I played GW1 for all its years and with a single character, a mesmer. I used to wear him with winter, desert, city outfits just because i had fun doing it ( as I do in GW2 ) and I had a small collection of armors in my inventory ( again, still doing it in GW). I loved them all, so fresh, so inspired, so full of little hi-res details.
While I’m not particullary uspet about " going ahead " I’m more into " respect traditions ", I’d like some new fashions ( like Masquerade set, aristrocrat that are more venetianish ) but keeping an eye to the past. Fact is that, to my eyes, I was never not totally caught about new mesmer-related armors because they never did look as inspired and sharp as the old ones ( some exeptions, but still a small % ), because of some design choice, some textures that on males look oddly low-res and some clearly lacking dyes sections.
On countrary I’d hardly disliked GW1 mesmer’s armor, they were just so awesome and each and every one of them tells you with all their little details that someone did really love them when they were drawn.
Again, I don’t know, they just look so poorly inspired to my eyes

Since we are going to old places familiar to us old Guild Wars old timers, give us some of the old marvelously dandy mesmer armors back http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mesmer_armor
( man, that dilettante’s armor was beautiful )
also give us this http://www.videogamesartwork.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_node/public/images/image/1377109187/guildwars2_armor_7175263_by_kekai_kotaki.jpg?itok=Mo3kvtA-
Professions armor are there already but any other one can wear them, people that played GW1 can recognize them ( for example: masks = mesmer related armor, forehead emblems = elementalist related armor ) BUT PLEASE bring back those good old super fashion male mesmer armors

Why do armors have 3 color slots when they have been made for 4 ?
There was standard Town Clothing long time ago that had 4 color slot allowing to customize every little detail without any " concept " flaws, and that didn’t seem out of place like many other 3 colors armor now.
For example, look here this concept art for the Masquerade’s Mesmer Set:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/5/51/Shining_Blade_male_concept_art.jpg
Look what you can get in-game:
http://i.imgur.com/FkjVMBW.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/NDSC7su.jpg
-let’s analyze the pictures, the center body in particular
concept art:
there’s a continuity between the blue jacket under the skyblue waistcoat’s part in the upper body and in the lower body, both in front and back. All these parts, under-jacket n tail, are disjointed from the main coat and are colored a lighter blue.
in-game: you cant act very much in the lower body, the tail that clearly continues from the upper body cannot be disjointed from the main coat’s making it look totally out of place, expecially from behind.
The three part colors are: coat, lining, pants. This is where 4th part was needed to complete the overall look, without it the armor looks like ODD
-now it’s time for arms
concept art: arms are divided in 4 parts, a gilded lining, a white-gold core, glove and a gem
in-game: they are split it in 2 (!) parts even, bracers and gloves.
That monocolor-block-bracer looks ODD, totally disjointed from the main gilded parts in the rest of the main body. Also forces you to color the gloves with flamboyant color or dull colors because of the gem coloring too
-let’s go for the legs
in-game: same as the arm, they should come split in, at least, 3 part, putting in that gilded lining just to make it looks like tidy and fluid and not totally ODD and out of place.
Also, just to be dedicated to the 4 colors, the shoes and the greaves are two separate parts, maybe the possibility to change color of the shoes ?
-the headpiece
in-game: would’ve been nice to color the gem in the middle of the venetian mask
-upperbody
in-game: We are almost good here but would’ve been nice to color the jacket under the waistcoat that continues in the lower body ( see the first point )
here a fast review

Let’s see the now another amor, the light heritage armor’s concept art
http://i57.tinypic.com/1zyem2b.png
Here how it looks like in-game

Why my waistcoat ( and that’s a BIG part of the armor ) must be the same color of my shirt ?
Here again with a more recent outfit
http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/gw2-noble-count-outfit-sylvari-male.jpg
Why the color of my shirt sleeves must be the same color of my cravat when the shirt is clearly a different color ( white ) ?
I can go on and on with example of armors ( expecially light armors. Male aristocrat armor ? ) that looks ODD because of that issue, issue that imho totally ruins the " loved by devs " feeling of the game.

apologize seriously dont needed, clocktower was perfect. It’s really worth the name it carries " Jumpin’ Puzzle "
i did some test with gravelings, seem that retailation works but just the icon wont show up
I had the trait " vengeful image " that gave illusions the Retailation boon but when i putted the " phantasmal fury " trait suddenly the retailation icon on my phantasm disappeared.
Do they stack or you can just have a single trait-boon on your illusions ?
Zhaitan should have been a massive dynamic event spanning all 3 Orr zones over the course of the fight.
This is the only way to make Zhaitan feel truly epic. But its too late now. Even if Anet redesigns the Zhaitan fight – after the hash they’ve made of it, it’ll just feel cheap.
Here’s hoping they learn from their mistake and make the other Elder Dragons suitably epic.
that was a good idea, with final boss fight in the dungeon… BTW i liked the Bismark-like-end
I guess that they are way too more good in Medium Shader than in High Shader, too bad they tone down the whole world’s enviroment.
On armors aint good looking at all since it totally kill coloros ( screens at end of the topic ), kill " materials since you’ll see an overall Cellophane Bloom even on cotton’s armors and, like i said, the cllophane bloom is ugly.

FINALY!!! I have been waiting so long for something like this to happen. Now I can perhaps get some players with me in other dunguens! about time. Thank you!
Actually it is the contrary. ALL paths are nerfed in rewards, if you repeat the same path you are only going to get even more less reward. So you get 14 silver first time and 5 silver the next. So yeah nothing much to lose by repeating them considering the other paths are going to take 4 times longer on a slightly better reward.
Anet is actually encouraging people to do less dungeons considering the rewards are only 1/3 of what’s used to be.
what ? during the last patch they buffed token gain and the " NERFED " way now is the same token amout as reward before
There’s a whinefest about your explot-nerf at Citadel of Flame fashion season but in the facts is that devs pumped a bit the token gaining of 2 more chest ( 10 token ) per run.
Be happy
the final results is that now no one gonna do long-farm-term dungeon as caudecous manor and rolling over and over again Citadel of Flame ( 30 minutes 30 token ).
And again the final final result is that if you havent some friends willing to farm with you 1380 token ( 50 run ) for a whole set you probably never gonna obtain it
BAD: rewards are just bad and tokens are too few for the effort
http://gw2.mmorpg-life.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/guild-wars-2-mini-pet-Seraph-Mage-1.jpg
why all seraph armors are in-game wearable armor but this ?
quick, put this wearable !
If prestige is for everybody then it loses its value….. These people complaint because they cant handle it. It takes group skills to do dungeon runs not some pugs running like headless chicken and to kill evrythng. Prestige=hard to get
Nobody is asking for it to be for everyone. They’re asking for it to not take a ridiculous amount of time to get, to the point where it stops becoming enjoyable.
It’s not even about the difficulty, it’s about the time. I can run TA explorable and nail it in an hour with PUGs. I’m not willing to run it 16 times for a single item. It’s not because I can’t handle it, it’s because the FUN is killed well below 16 times.
*
i hate those who says " OMG IT’S PRESTIGE " when we are clearly not talking about being able to be farm the whole set easily, we are just asking to roll back the old low-level-low-cost armor that was far from being easily farmed still.
Before it was worth 25 runs now 40+
(edited by crismuno.4210)
If players could achieve all their hopes and dreams inside 3 runs, then guild wars 2 would have a shelf life of about a week.
This is an MMO. You’re in for the long haul.
And nobody says you have to grind 18 dungeons a day. Do it as it comes, a little here, a little there. Once you get it, you’ll know it’s worth something, because not everybody has it.
And more importantly – not everyone is MEANT to own everything in this game. Some people just wont be “able” to get certain recipes for crafting, certain armor or items.
I love it! Go look around in most other MMO’s all the warrior are wearing the same set, carrying the same weapon and crafting the exact same items as the next crafter in the profession.
I don’t think you will ever see that here – and I am in love with that.
everyone has to wear what he likes not what he can farm
You can do this step by step while doing what you want as well, you don’t have to spam dungeons non-stop until you have enough tokens.
You can say what you like about WoW, but I’ll be doing these dungeons in much the same way as I raided – scheduled guild runs several times a week with a lot of fun on TS as we do them.
the fact is that i’m playing GW2 and not WoW, i dont wanna insanely-farm things, i can just afford to farm things like the way the exotic dungeon armors were farmable before this price blown up
As an added bonus all the explorables are available and none of them obsolete, so we can choose between them for variety. Plus there are the different paths for each instance.
they get obsolete when you have to farm it 40 times, and we are talking about flawless games without bug, crash, failed parties and so on, not mentoning that you have to group with people that synergize well and are willing to farm 1380 tokens
I never said it isn’t a long term achievement, it is and that’s how it should be. And no, I don’t think that’s too many hours. I spent over 700 hours on GW1 farming for HoM points and I spent months raiding on WoW each tier for titles and special mounts.
HoM was a step by step achievement that you could do while doing everything you want, and playing WoW, a farm based game to leech your montlhy fee, isn’t a point that justify the price " FIX " they did
The problem lies with the attitude of the players and not the game. The “I want this now mentality” is bad for this type of game. Yes someone spent 4 days farming for token or so to get what he wanted asap. But could this not be something you could take some months to achieve and split it up rather than doing the same task over and over again.
Take your time.
again with this " HIC ET NUNC ", you still didnt get the point
It’s not too expensive at all. You don’t need to get the dungeon armour, it’s a prestige item to show you put the effort into getting it. If you want a prestige dungeon set you need to be prepared to do a lot of dungeons, that’s the entire point. Where is the prestige if they practically hand them out as soon as you get through the portal?
Farming and grindind a dungeon over and over and over and over again until puke isnt a way to gain prestige, is just a bad design choice to high even more the exotic armor price.
And again try to think about it for a second instead of just posting " OMG ANOTHER WHINING THREAD :B ".
The way the exotic was meant before was this:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nobleman's_Helm – 25 token for the helm
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nobleman%27s_Pauldrons – 100 token pauldron
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nobleman%27s_Breastplate – 100 token breastplate
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nobleman%27s_Gauntlets – 100 token gauntlet
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nobleman%27s_Legguards – 100 token legguards
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nobleman%27s_Greaves – 100 token greaves
25 token per runs, it’s like 25 runs if everything goes in the right way to gain whole set, 1 run is like about 2 hours of gameplay for a total of 125 hours; now tell me that this aint a long-term achievement
multiply these number for 8 dungeons and it’s 1000 hours for all sets for all dungeons, and keep telling me that this isnt a long term-achievement
Now a single set is worth 300 tokens for a piece almost and the hours of farming-grinding tokens triplicated
It’s just insane
PS
Prestige is not a synonymous of frustrating, gaining an armor doing 25 runs in an hard dungeon with friends is a prestige itself, repeating it over and over again it’s not
(edited by crismuno.4210)
There should be some kind of tweaking like lower the cost or decrease the difficulty or even increase token gained from each run.
*
just a step back to the previously price for low-stats armor with the exotic skin, and as i said before, was all but short-term farm, now it’s just insane
I remember arenanet said there was no grinding in gw2 one of many lies
this about dungeon is the only concern imho
These things are supposed to be long-term goals. They aren’t supposed to be obtained within a few days. You don’t HAVE to spend 12 hours a day farming. Play normally, play when you feel like, play for fun, and if one day you have enough tokens then get a reward. It’s not bad design just because YOU want it all NOW but cannot have it.
Chill first of all and read better, no one is talking about " ME " pretending " hic et nunc " policy.
One day you wont have enough tokens because you can just gain tokens farming over and over again the same dungeon. And here no one is talking about non-long terms, i’m just upset for their decision to high even more the token prices, and before this the armor was far from being short-term.
Read and understand what i’m trying to say
for the 3rd run in a row, dungeon’s boss just dropped me 5 token for a total of 15 token for the entire run… all set cost 1380 tokens; 2 hours for 15 tokens is just insane, not an honorable achievement
If players could achieve all their hopes and dreams inside 3 runs, then guild wars 2 would have a shelf life of about a week.

i said 3 run per piece and seriously i cant get what about 15 token for 2 hours of the same dungeon is funny.
As gear does not equal progression, there is no need to farm those, so you can simply do whatever you want without the game forcing you to get those tokens. So no need to make it cheaper, it does not keep you from playing ANY part of the game.
It’s not about the WHOLE GAME, we are just talking about someone that want a dungeon’s armor because he likes it, i don’t care about the rest of the game ( which i love btw ), this is a specific topic. And the answer for the question " IF I WANT THAT ARMOR ? " is just " INSANE GRIND\FARM ".
They removed with the low-level-low-cost exotic skin my only choice of wearing an armor that i like and i still had to sweat to gain. That armor will be just inaccessible for me and for many others

I like a lot the Noble Man’s Armor but seriously it’s a torture to obtain it. I really don’t get why Anet removed the exotic skin on low level but less-costly armor, and even than the price was extremely high for the whole set; now, it’s just impressive the amount of farm and the frustrating and boring farm you need to complete the whole set.
I met a guy today with a dungeon’s chest armor; he said he farmed the piece 4 days straight with 1 day of almost 11 hours playtrough.
This is totally insane, i tought that farm and grind wasnt there but it’s still here.
I would’ve preferred something like 3 run per piece.
I’m upset
